Throughout this situation, I tried to remain professional and respectful and expressed my willingness to resolve everything amicably. Yet, after paying nearly $4,000 for a re-gear service, I discovered a massive gear oil leak covering my driveway the very next morning due to an improperly secured axle. This left my driveway stained and reeking of gear oil--with professional cleaning estimates ranging from $400 to $600--and I spent the entire weekend in anxiety, questioning whether my truck was even safe to drive, and eventually having to return it on Monday, which disrupted my business. During this process, I was communicating with my assigned service advisor, but responses were often delayed, unclear, or evasive; messages went unanswered, questions were redirected, and clear answers were difficult to obtain. When I brought the truck back, it was described as "just a loose axle" and claimed fixed, yet no documentation was provided proving that the differential or internal gears were inspected after I had driven it for an hour while leaking. Their claim that "there is no problem" or "everything is fine" is something no reasonable person could trust. With re-gear work, any mistake or improper setup often only becomes apparent after several thousand miles of driving. This is why a formal guarantee is not just a request, but a necessity. When I requested a formal written warranty, they only gave me a $0 invoice with no actual warranty terms or duration. For days, I calmly requested two very reasonable things: a formal written warranty and a fair resolution for the driveway damage. I never demanded compensation for emotional distress or lost business time; I simply asked for accountability. After experiencing this, I looked through other reviews and realized that my experience was not an isolated incident. I strongly urge everyone to READ THE 1-STAR REVIEWS FIRST before coming here. You will see a chilling and habitual pattern: dodging responsibility, being 'afraid of standing behind their work,' and sneakily adding extra charges--then claiming they are unavoidable. In fact, I later realized the overcharge I experienced was just a small fraction compared to what others have reported. You will also notice that the owner's responses to negative reviews are always the same--robotic, defensive, and dismissive. They publicly ask customers to 'contact us' to give the appearance of being helpful, but it is nothing more than a deceptive marketing tactic. If they truly intended to resolve these issues, my driveway wouldn't still be stained, and I wouldn't be left with a useless $0 invoice instead of a real warranty. The fact that these 1-star reviews remain unchanged proves that their 'invitation to talk' is a sham and nothing ever gets resolved. They have a template for excuses but no manual for accountability. I am sharing my experience and my filing with the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) so that other victims know there is a formal way to seek accountability. After seeing so many similar complaints, I strongly encourage anyone who has had similar experiences with their safety, property damage, or deceptive billing to file a formal complaint with the BAR as well. As a business owner for over 20 years, I understand mistakes happen, but I cannot accept a refusal to take responsibility. I am now filing a formal complaint with the Bureau of Automotive Repair and initiating a credit card dispute. A strong online presence means nothing if a company fails to protect its customers' safety and property. [UPDATE: Response to the Owner's Reply] The owner's response below is exactly what I warned about: a robotic, defensive excuse that shifts the blame. They claim a 'failed C-clip' on an aftermarket part, but as any professional knows, this is a clear sign of improper installation, not a part failure. They also claim they 'verified' no internal damage, yet they provided zero technical proof or a detailed inspection report after I drove with no oil for an hour. Mentioning a '90-day warranty' now is laughable--if that were true, why did they refuse to provide a formal written warranty when I asked for it repeatedly for days? Their response is just another marketing tactic to look responsible in public while remaining unaccountable in private. My filing with the BAR and the credit card dispute will proceed as planned.

I agreed to replace the speakers, but I was clear that the amp assessment not existing poor sound quality was the issue. The volume issue was not resolved. The system is not louder, which was the sole purpose of the visit. I would not be raising this concern about the cost with the new speakers if the volume had actually increased. I did not pay to improve sound quality, and the current sound quality is worse than before. I was charged for a solution that did not match the problem or the agreed scope of work, and the original issue remains unresolved.

Insurance was covering, so price really wasn't an issue dor me. They aren't cheap, but they do amazing work. Turn around time was laid out in front of me, and they met the goal. It was a LONG process (read 1.5 months); if I didn't have a provided rental it may have affected my rating, but I did have one. Everything with the insurance process, getting me to/from the rental location, communication with me and the adjustor, and workmanship were all top notch. Ran into some issues on first attempt at a pick up, but they rectified it with fixing the issue, as well as transportation and delivery to the Irvine location. I then had wheels installed at the performance shop in Irvine. Again, it wasn't cheap, but they met all expectations. After seeing the originals, which had significant wear and visible cracks, it was an easy decision. Throughout the process, Malek took the time to explain exactly what he was doing, the parts and materials he uses, and the proper aftercare after the service. It's clear he knows these cars inside and out, and genuinely cares about doing the job right. The results speak for themselves. The intermittent ticking is completely gone, the engine sounds fantastic, and I have much greater peace of mind knowing this important maintenance has been taken care of. He gave my truck an inspection on the lift. He was adamant about not selling me parts I did not need. He understood my concerns about eliminating squeaks and groans of old suspension, and making the vehicle safe for my family. He identified what needed to be replaced, and what parts were still structurally sound. He showed me himself under the truck what was good and what was not, and also suggested new brake pads and rotors. I made an appointment for the following day, and all work was completed on time without any additional cost behind the estimate. My truck is now squeak free, stops great, and the gaps between the front and rear tires in the wheel wells is the same so truck has a much better, modern look. Since I purchased my 97 Toyota Land Cruiser about 4 months ago, I've had Alex and his competent crew help me with the build of my overland rig. I purchased a rig that had a bunch of work done to it already, but I wasn't aware that much of the work was done by an inexperienced mechanic. I'm sure all good intentions, but wrong. So far I've had AOE do the following: 1 - Install ARB front and rear air lockers 2 -Fabricate a bracket, use existing seat bolts in rear cargo area, and install an ARB dual air compressor. 3 - Purchase and installed a Tepui 3 man Ruggedized RTT 4 - Modified the roof rack to accommodate the RTT 5 - Purchased and installed the Tepui Ruggedized long awning 6 - Completely rewired my HID flood and spot lights. 7 - Installed an SPOD lighting and battery management system 8 - Installed a Blue Sea ML remote battery switch 9 - Outsourced a new dual head Pioneer stereo with Apple Play and all the bells and whistles...new speakers too! It rocks (thanks Auto Lab). 10 - Outsourced the installation of a triple plug 110 outlet converter 11 - Fabricated and installed the most awesome over-dash RAM mount bar you've ever seen. He has to start making these and selling to the LC community. Everyone will want one. 12 - Installed 3 USB power outlets under the RAM bar to charge all my electronics. 13 - Installed side and rear LED lights for outdoor surround lighting. 14 - Installed at Yakima Spare Ride bike rack over the rear swing gate mounted spare tire (works unbelievably good) 15 - Resealed the heads and installed new engine gaskets all around. 16 - Full tune up. I have total confidence in not only their build capabilities, but also their knowledge of my truck and mechanical. They know these trucks inside and out! 17 - Just ordered a rear end re-gear as my 35" tires make it a little sluggish on long freeway hill climbs. Will also help with low end torque. More to come as I build this expedition ready truck. We're building it to go from So Cal to Alaska, then over to Canada to the Rockies, down the Continental Divide through the US, through Mexico and Central AM, across the Panama Canal, then down to Patagonia. I feel comfortable that Alex and the boys will get me there safely and securely! read more

I have been planning a build for months. I even talked to other shops. After getting the money together and reviewing the quotes and quality of the parts I decided to go with AOE4x4. They offered the highest quality components with a high level of customization for a fair price. I finally brought my JKU in. They finished the JKU on time. After finalizing the lift, control arms, upgraded shocks, and upon pick up I talked to the Mechanic who worked on my Jeep, Cesar. He suggested I come back in after 200 miles to ensure all the bolts have stayed tight and gave me suggestions for future components, addressed some of my concerns and was a big value and great add-on. I have a wish list together and will certainly use AOE4x4 for future purchase/installation needs. read more

I am very happy with what AOE did to my Jeep. Usually I try to do stuff myself on my Jeep but this time I had to bring it to AOE to get more difficult suspension and engine stuff sorted out. Working with Alex feels very personal and its always interesting what kind of overland vehicles he got standing around in the shop. He found several issues on my Jeep and discussed the options with me and after a little wait I got my JK back and it drives really nice again. He even solved some issues that wasnt on the initial list and washed the car. Plus, he wasnt afraid to tell me when parts did not need a replacement because they were still in good shape. Be careful with Alex as he will take money from you in return for a promise to do work, even in writing and a contract. He will never do the work, and keep your money. If you push him through the court, which I have, he will give you checks on an account that has never any funds in it, and you will get stuck with returned checks for insufficient funds, adding insult to injury. Not a trustworthy person at all. If you shake hands with him, please count your fingers afterward. You may have one or two less. I have 10 of these kinds of check from him for $1,500.00 each. I have copies of the lawsuit, and the no good checks and will be happy to share with you. read more

These guys are just amazing. I was referred to these guys by a friend who has been going to them for years. After the Jeep dealers could not figure out what was going wrong with my 2017 JKU 7 and had charged me a fortune in fixing things that did not needed fixing, I went to these guys. These guys not only found the issue and fixed it and the cost was very reasonable compared to the dealers. I have been going to them since then and they know exactly what needs to be done to keep my Overland JKU running smooth and talk me out of things that I would ask them to put in the car based on Forums recommendations. This is a top of the line business. They care about the customer and do whatever it is they need to do to make you happy and keep promises they made. After being quoted extremely high at REBEL, I looked for another local shop and found American Overland Expeditions . I walked in and met Alex and his team they found me exactly what I wanted and gave me a reasonable quote which was substantially less than Rebel I scheduled an appointment for the following week and in 7 days later my JLU was set up. Truck Tacoma 2018 The Crew is nothing short of amazing. When i first went in i wasn't sure what exactly what i wanted, but i had an image in mind. Alex was extremely helpful. I have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. The AOE team replaced my Jeep's front ball joints and installed a 3.5" AEV Dual Sport Suspension with 255/80 R17 BFGoodrich KM2 Mud Terrain Tires. They did a fantastic job. I have Driven the Jeep thousands of miles on and off road and had no issues. The last visit I had with my Land Cruiser was urgent as one of my transmission hoses ruptured rending it undrivable. Frank/Eric were proactive and allowed me to tow my LC to them to figure out the issue the next day (they were closing at the time I called). After parts were received on their end, my Land Cruiser was up and running back to normal. They inspected and test for any damage to the transmission that may have occurred when losing all of my transmission fluid. I am happy to have found a shop with a good work ethic, friendliness and thoroughness that is local to me in Santa Ana. 10/10 would recommend if you have a offroad vehicle or a Toyota (I am sure they are proficient with other vehicles as well).

For those of you out there looking for the absolute best of the best, it's SVC. For those of you out there looking for the top innovation, better performance, durability, engineering, craftsmanship, and integrity, it's SVC. Over the past year I've purchased 7 products from SVC for my Gen 3 F-150 Raptor - Tie rods, UCA's, coil adjuster, upper and lower links + panhard, and the intercooler. After each SVC product was installed, it was like I was driving an entirely different truck - a far superior truck. You can feel the difference instantly - both in the dirt, and on the pavement. But let me tell you, this company doesn't just have the best products, they've got THE BEST costumer service. I recently had the pleasure of taking my truck to their HQ for some installs. It was awesome getting to meet the team and see how and where the magic happens. It's my opinion, and many-many others who I've spoken to, that SVC has NO competition, because they're in a league of their own. If you truly want the absolute best, it's SVC. It's obvious Jarrett, SVC's Owner, is only doing this because of his love and passion for off-roading. And Colin, who's the head of sales, goes above and beyond. I'm that person who always has a lot of questions and needs things explained, well Colin is able to articulate the "why" and "how" of a product in a way I understand. Since the day I reached out to SVC, Colin has personally guided me in the right direction. It's because of his recommendations, I have one badass and very capable Raptor. Jeff, the operations manager, knows more about these vehicles than any other person on planet earth. He's an absolute Jedi when it comes this stuff. I had a noise coming from my truck, so I took it to several places in SoCal, and NO one was able to figure it out. I think it took Jeff all of about thirteen seconds to diagnose the issue. And Jack, the Tech who did my most recent installs, didn't just treat my truck like it was just another job. You could tell he worked on my truck with care and patience. And boy did it pay off, he gave me back a truck I feel completely confident in, to go rip it up in the dirt. And for the cherry on top - Colin, Jeff, & Jack noticed a few things that needed to be tightened, fixed, even replaced - things that had nothing to do with my installs, but they did it anyway. I can't thank this company enough for all of the hard work they do. So Jarrett, Colin, Jeff, Jack and everyone else over at SVC thanks for helping me turn a good truck into an unstoppable badass beast. Throughout this situation, I tried to remain professional and respectful and expressed my willingness to resolve everything amicably. Yet, after paying nearly $4,000 for a re-gear service, I discovered a massive gear oil leak covering my driveway the very next morning due to an improperly secured axle. This left my driveway stained and reeking of gear oil--with professional cleaning estimates ranging from $400 to $600--and I spent the entire weekend in anxiety, questioning whether my truck was even safe to drive, and eventually having to return it on Monday, which disrupted my business. During this process, I was communicating with my assigned service advisor, but responses were often delayed, unclear, or evasive; messages went unanswered, questions were redirected, and clear answers were difficult to obtain. When I brought the truck back, it was described as "just a loose axle" and claimed fixed, yet no documentation was provided proving that the differential or internal gears were inspected after I had driven it for an hour while leaking. Their claim that "there is no problem" or "everything is fine" is something no reasonable person could trust. With re-gear work, any mistake or improper setup often only becomes apparent after several thousand miles of driving. This is why a formal guarantee is not just a request, but a necessity. When I requested a formal written warranty, they only gave me a $0 invoice with no actual warranty terms or duration. For days, I calmly requested two very reasonable things: a formal written warranty and a fair resolution for the driveway damage. I never demanded compensation for emotional distress or lost business time; I simply asked for accountability. After experiencing this, I looked through other reviews and realized that my experience was not an isolated incident. I strongly urge everyone to READ THE 1-STAR REVIEWS FIRST before coming here. You will see a chilling and habitual pattern: dodging responsibility, being 'afraid of standing behind their work,' and sneakily adding extra charges--then claiming they are unavoidable. In fact, I later realized the overcharge I experienced was just a small fraction compared to what others have reported. You will also notice that the owner's responses to negative reviews are always the same--robotic, defensive, and dismissive. They publicly ask customers to 'contact us' to give the appearance of being helpful, but it is nothing more than a deceptive marketing tactic. If they truly intended to resolve these issues, my driveway wouldn't still be stained, and I wouldn't be left with a useless $0 invoice instead of a real warranty. The fact that these 1-star reviews remain unchanged proves that their 'invitation to talk' is a sham and nothing ever gets resolved. They have a template for excuses but no manual for accountability. [UPDATE: Response to the Owner's Reply] The owner's response below is exactly what I warned about: a robotic, defensive excuse that shifts the blame. They claim a 'failed C-clip' on an aftermarket part, but as any professional knows, this is a clear sign of improper installation, not a part failure. They also claim they 'verified' no internal damage, yet they provided zero technical proof or a detailed inspection report after I drove with no oil for an hour. Mentioning a '90-day warranty' now is laughable--if that were true, why did they refuse to provide a formal written warranty when I asked for it repeatedly for days? Their response is just another marketing tactic to look responsible in public while remaining unaccountable in private. My filing with the BAR and the credit card dispute will proceed as planned.
