#1 Wagyu steak plate - Wagyu, Maui Onion, corn, chopped lettuce
    Parker L.

This place has the best wagyu plates that I found in the island. I tried all the food trucks next to this one and by far the American Wagyu Eatery had the highest quality food and very well priced! The service is great, the staff are very kind. They have several picnic tables in the shade to eat at. 10/10 next time I'm in Waikiki and need a quick bite I'm going here.

    #2 Wagu curry Chefs recommendation

The service is impeccable, very happy I wandered around and stumbled upon this truck! They advertise a type of wagu beef made in America with the exact standards set for wagu beef in Japan! The sample given to me was full of flavor and ripped apart very easily. The vibe was super chill. The food: I don't like curry typically but they said I should it and I'm so happy I did. This is the best steak curry I have ever had it's rich in flavor. The rice is done perfectly, the egg on top brings the whole meal together. I will be back here again.

Staff Super nice and welcoming when we walked up , and accommodated our order as well. The food was definitely worth the price, even better than expected . The set up was clean and warm. They even drew a cute thank you picture on the box ! Thanks again!

Delicious Wagyu meals, tasty elote corn, and great kimchi. The staff is amazing and very friendly. Wonderful experience in Waikiki. Make this place a stop for a tasty meal on your vacation. You will be very happy you stopped by. Aloha!

Stumbled across this absolute gem today. I literally took the wrong turn and noticed the Wagyu beef flyer posted to the fence so decided what the heck, it's lunch time let me just try it out. I knew I made the right decision when I walked up and was greeted by a nice Japanese man. BEST. DECISION. EVER! The beef literally melts in your mouth!! Comes on a bed of rice, corn, grilled onions and kimchi. I couldn't even wait to eat it (hence why no photos of the plates ‍) I will 100% be back again & I've already told multiple people about this truck becuase it's literally a hidden GEM. It's just unfortunate that the location is off the beaten path and you have to intentionally look for the truck. But I promise you, you won't regret stopping here!

The size of the mini plate

My husband planned on having a completely different meal when we arrived at the Ohana Hale Food Truck Park. Once we had a taste of the #1 wagyu steak plate, he completely changed his mind (and until that moment, I didn't really know what I wanted to eat). The mini Wagyu Steak Plate was PHENOMENAL- the meat was perfectly cooked, the rice, corn and garlic sesame cabbage all tasted wonderful. Wish this food truck existed on the U.S. east coast! Eat here!

This is the best curry rice we have every had. We visited in March 2024 and have been wanting to come back since. Remarkably, their food is even BETTER now! An absolute gem in Waikiki. We can't wait to come back again!!

Beef Curry-outstanding and enough to share (dinner for two)

Many thanks to Yelpers for leading us to the AWE! I enjoyed two dinners at AWE during my stay in Waikiki. The first time I split the Beef Lover with my husband. It was a hearty, delicious trio of beef curry, shaved beef with onions and sliced beef over rice with corn and a small amount of cabbage. The beef is so tender and perfectly seasoned. Just delicious! We went back two days later and shared a beef curry. The beef curry had sold out as an entree but we enjoyed the portion we had in our Beef Lover so we were happy that it wasn't sold out the 2nd time we went back. The curry actually came with some sliced beef too. It was so delicious! Definitely don't hesitate to stop by this hidden gem!

Dude behind the counters chill and respectful. The food was delicious and I'm going to try the rest of the menu next time.

We more or less stumbled across this place after noticing several food trucks on the street outside of our hotel. Having heard of Wagyu beef hundreds of times but never actually trying it, I was immediately interested in the menu. There are multiple 'plate lunch' style offerings but we opted to go for the combination plate which has all 3 styles of meat. My favorite by far was the sliced steak. Not that the other two weren't good - they were all tasty. But that sliced steak was just so tender and flavorful. If I was eating there again I'd personally go for the full sized entree of just that variety. The sides in the meal are a little lacking (plain white rice, plain corn, and plain cabbage); but let's be honest, the real star here is the meat. Overall 8/10 - would come back again.

I am visiting from Orange County and these food trucks were next to the Air Bnb. I could smell the goodness from the 4th floor. I went the first night and got the big Wagyu steak plate, it was so delicious! I went back the next night and brought my Dad, he got the Wagyu steak this time I got the Wagyu beef bowl. Once again, so tender and delicious. I don't normally eat Kimchi but I ate all of this! This food is some of the best I've eaten while visiting Hawaii. Everyone needs to stop by and give this Chef some support! Enjoy!

We encountered numerous food trucks stationed on Cartwright as we strolled back to our hotel in Waikiki each evening. Our interest was piqued by the American Wagyu food truck. Tonight, we resolved to experiment with it, and we are delighted that we did. Accepts credit cards, provides a reasonable portion of food, and provides prompt and courteous service. We selected the curry rice (regular size) and the mini wagyu plate. They offer three portion sizes for the menu items they serve. The cuisine was delectable, and I would certainly consider returning to the food truck. I am of the opinion that it was a reasonable price in comparison to the prices of cuisine in Waikiki. American wagyu is the subject of discussion in numerous comments that have been posted on this site. Japanese cows are referred to as "wagyu." Folks, there is no such thing as American Wagyu. Japanese is the meaning of the term "wa." Cow is the translation of the term "gyu." In order to be classified as Wagyu, the cow must be bred and reared in Japan. American Wagyu is a cute choice for a name for the business.

I was really looking forward to trying this place. I will say I was disappointed that the meat is broil instead of grill. The guy behind the truck is really unfriendly and doesn't really say much. I understand it's a food truck and doesn't expect much but a smile won't hurt you. I tried asking about the late and got a grunt instead. I'll prolly not be back k here when I come back to the island.

We had the "highly rated" North Shore shrimp three years ago and the way they serve it to you isn't very appetizing. However, this shack, chef's kiss. The presentation and the flavor was all there. Last week it tasted like it had fish sauce in it with spices and garlic, etc...tonight it literally tastes like bbq seasoning mixed with chipotle seasoning and chili onion. I'm not writing this review to bash this shrimp truck because I think they are very nice but more so as constructive criticism...to hopefully keep their recipe consistent. It was ~$30 and easily shareable with 2-3 people. Everything tasted great and I loved the smokey flavor and bbq sauce. Beef brisket and short rib were kinda tough and chewy. It came with three sides so I got cole slaw, potato salad, and Mac and cheese. Cole slaw and Mac and cheese were solid; Potato salad was just alright. They also gave one warm bun too. The reason I gave 3 stars was because service was extremely slow. It seemed like they were short staff and had one person at the cash register AND getting the food. He would take a few orders, and then grab the food. When I arrived, he was grabbing food for multiple folks so then I stood there waiting like 15 just to place my order. Then when he restarted and took my order, he took like 5 more orders before grabbing the food so then I waited even longer for another 15 min. That's 30 min of waiting! Also he wasn't serving food in the order that orders were received so it felt actually felt even longer. There needs to be a better system! Surprisingly he did a employee discount on my order. Not sure if it's because it was close to closing time. Btw they charge extra if you order to-go because of the supplies for packaging. I think food is alright but wouldn't return and wait that long for bbq.

I got the tuna mayo onigiri and wished they had packed in a little more tuna filling, but it was still tasty. I also tried the cucumber spam musubi, which was really good too. We came as a group of seven and everyone ordered something different, and everyone loved every bite. My tip: get at least two musubis per person. A few people in our group got four each and had zero regrets. One thing to know ahead of time is parking. It is street parking only and pretty limited, so plan for that if you are driving. If someone pays extra for "Double Tuna," they're expecting more tuna, NOT extra rice. Unfortunately, it felt like they were really skimping on the filling, and the quality didn't live up to the hype for us.

However, after having to abandon our original dinner plans, we were no less intrigued after randomly stumbling across this place. While they may not have been our first choice for dinner, coming here was far more appealing than eating fast food or at the nearby IHOP! Although seeing so many folks at this mini food truck park may have been what caught our attention, it was the boxes of fried chicken on nearly every table that swayed us to try Waikiki Chicken in Paradise in particular. After skimming the menu, it wasn't hard to see why they were such a popular choice - everything on it sounded great. Granted, that's not overly difficult when there are only eight items to choose from, but tough to argue with the likes of fried chicken loco moco, fried chicken curry rice, fried chicken sandwiches, chicken & croffle, and fish & chips! Since we saw how big the portion were and didn't want anything too heavy (read: sadly, no loco moco or Japanese curry), we opted to split a FRIED CHICKEN RICE PLATE ($16.95) which came with a Fried Chicken Cutlet over White Rice with Mac Salad & Green Salad. Funny enough, despite already having a sense of how much food they give, I was still surprised by the generous portion size. As for how it all tasted, this was great. The breading on the chicken reminded me of Popeye's (though, without the spice), the batter was crispy, and the chicken itself was rather moist. As for the sides, the mac salad was pretty good, but the salad was a little heavy on dressing. If there was one thing I could change about our order, I think I'd want to see how it would taste with a sauce or glaze. At the very least, I'd definitely go with a different dipping sauce, like their Pineapple Ginger, Lilikoi Mayo, or Guava BBQ, as the Honey Mustard we went with tasted a bit generic. Of course, we could've solved both problems if we had gone with the Fried Chicken Loco Moco or Fried Chicken Curry Rice instead! I guess I'll just have to wait until the next time I'm in Waikiki!
