I cannot recommend Beto and this company enough. I am shouting from the mountaintops to use him if you want honest, quick, reliable work. A quick backstory: my S/O is a home brewer. Our garage is half gym half brewery (it's called balance, ha). We had friends in town this weekend and asked one of them NOT to open the garage while he did some work in our driveway. Came home one of the days to an 'error' on the garage door opener that said "excessive force opening" and a microfiber cloth stuck in one of the rails. And here we are... So picture this: it's 9pm on Monday and time for bed. S/O opens the garage door to remove some trash and it becomes completely unhinged - two of the wheels pop off, it's crooked and will not shut. We are F'd... S/O thinks he's sleeping in the garage to protect his equipment. 9:06pm: I reach out to Beto. He asks me to send him photos via text so he can provide a quote (whereas the company I called just before quoted me $750 without even seeing photos - that review is forthcoming). 9:12pm: he calls back and says it'll be $350 and he'll be here in 20-25 minutes. Fair enough. 9:21pm: he's walking up our driveway. 10:02pm: a fixed garage door, payment accepted and he is driving away. And that my friends, is the story of finding quality work in a real bind. Roberto was the only one to answer the phone instead of going straight to voicemail. Roberto has ten years of experience and used to work for Hutchins, whose cousin owns Cedar Park Overhead Doors. He said both are good companies as well. Roberto has owned America's Front Doors for 2.5 years. He spent two hours evaluating, lubricating, and explaining the condition of my garage door to me for a total of $99. He showed me cracks in the brick from when the former owners converted it from two doors to a one door garage. He also recognized that I had the nicest insulated garage door in the neighborhood. He showed me how the cement in the recess wasn't planar and had uneven clearance. In the future, if I ever want to replace the garage door, I'll need to cut the cement to make it even. He taught me how to lubricate all ten rollers and two springs four times a year. And he even gave me a free can of garage door lubricant! He showed me his website of recommendations for a garage door surge protector, which I'm going to buy. We heard a loud bang and couldn't figure out what it was, later when we tried to leave the house we realized the garage door spring had snapped, I scrolled around yelling and found this place. I made the mistake yesterday of backing my car out of the garage before it had fully opened, clipping the bottom of the garage door with my car before it made it all the way up. Worried I had done major damage, I called a large company to take a look at it that could get out there in the evening, and they recommended significant repairs, giving me a repair bill estimate starting at about $1,500. Not convinced that it was that big of a job, I called Roberto the next morning and he was able to get out to my place within an hour or two of calling. He took a look and told me that everything mechanical/structural was fine, and that if I was ok with the minor cosmetic damage I caused, no repairs were needed. I can't think him enough for his honesty, which saved me a lot of money. I hope I don't have any garage repairs too soon, but if/when it happens, I know who my first call will be to. read more

I'm so glad Yelp search led me to South Austin Garage Door Repairs (Aka Americas Front Door). I messaged early in the morning and the owner responded quickly. I got lucky and he was in the area and was able to squeeze me in the same day. He was polite, and obviously knowledgeable in his field. He suggested replacing with a double spring in lieu of the single snapped one, but did so without "up selling" pressure. I actually appreciated the suggestion and after a couple of moments to consider (and a flash research online) I agreed to the upgrade. I had a great experience with Roberto. Our garage door went off the rails (literally) after sundown. Dreading what the rest of the night might look like, my family and I tried to fix it, to no avail. I did a Yelp inquiry, and Roberto responded quickly with an estimate with an excellent price (which was very helpful to know what ballpark this was going to be). He communicated well and came within a couple of hours or so of the initial inquiry, even though it was late (9 PM) and he had been on another job. When he arrived, he cheerfully and quickly sized up the job and got to work. Since it looked pretty bad to me, I was really surprised at how quickly and well he got it fixed. I was afraid panels had been damaged and that it might get expensive, but he repaired everything excellently. He then went the extra mile and lubricated the door. Even though the repair was more complicated than he anticipated from my brief and amateur explanation, he insisted on sticking with the estimate despite my genuine offer to go higher to be fair. He mentioned that he has 6-8 years of experience with garage doors, and it showed. He fixed it quickly and well at a price that I would have expected for a basic service call on a working door during working hours, not a major repair at 9 PM.
