Two days ago while attempting to close my garage door, a wheel popped off and nearly hit me in the face. The door wouldn't close after that. Despite my apprehension I figured I really ought to bring in a professional. I reached out to Advanced Garage Repair that evening and heard back first thing the next morning. Within two hours of our phone call, Chad was at my door and taking a look. It was a bit of a tricky issue (apparently the door had never been properly set up at all) but he had everything in order in basically half an hour. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and the garage door tracks smoother than it ever has. His fee was entirely reasonable, and I appreciated his willingness to be up front with me about the cost range on our phone call. Chad is one of the good guys!

At a mere 5x the price of the service we were actually asking for. For reasons that did not apply. Not listening, not what we were asking for. Clearly in it to maximize the sale. Randomly commented our garage doors were "ugly." Shook my partner's hand, not interested in shaking mine. Also randomly pulled up pictures of some $40k garage door installed by them. We do not recommend. Don't try scare tactics and false sense of urgency to pressure your potential customers into purchases they don't need. Treat customers equally. Listen. Don't spend 20 minutes writing up an estimate. Don't insult my property. Don't waste my time bragging about irrelevant past jobs.

I had used Alliance Overhead Door in the past and they were the first call I made. The owner, Chris, took my call on a Sunday around 11am and asked me a few questions to diagnose the issue. It was likely an internal spring that had likely broken and needed replacement. I was afraid there would be an extra charge for a Sunday repair, but Chris so nope. So, I decided to move forward with getting the issue handled. Chris needed to address a current customer and then could be at my place around 1pm. As he was on his way, he texted me with an ETA, which was nice. Once at my place, he confirmed the issue and recommended at Torsion Spring Conversion. He confirmed the price, which was very reasonable, and he got right to work. Within an hour the old broken spring shaft was replaced with the new torsion spring rated for 25,000 cycles. Not only did he fix the issue, he also took the time to inspect the door and lubed the wheels and hinges before leaving. Now I am back in business with a working garage door. I chose The Up and Up Garage Doors company because it was relatively close to where I live (I learned pretty quickly that some companies don't serve my area, so I wanted to make sure I wouldn't be disappointed if they didn't served my area). The company had a decent number of reviewers, which I feel makes the 5 star reviews seem legit. Surprisingly, I was able to book a consultation the same day. Neil was able to diagnose the problem relatively quickly and explained the parts that I would definitely need (like a new receiver), parts that I would not need (like the spring) and parts that would be nice to have (like the rolling wheels along the rail). He was very transparent about the price of the parts and labor as well as time it would take to pick up the parts and complete the job. TBH, the garage door system he recommended seemed gimmicky, but I decided to go with it anyway because he had me at " it's one of the quietest systems." He was able to install the very same day and was very patient helping me set up the remote garage door openers and iPhone app, which turns out has a feature that floored me, which was basically the ability to check if my garage door was closed or not after I left! The amount of time I imagined I would save by not having to turn the car around to double check is priceless! The overall time it took from looking at the company, setting up an appointment, Neil having to pick up the system from the company, drive back and install was literally less than three hours. I also thought the price was very reasonable for having such a quality product and super awesome experience. I would 10 out 10 definitely recommend this company to anyone who is looking to upgrade their garage system or just need any repairs in general.

So I'm either in the 35% of their non-responses or I'm an outlier in their turnaround timeframe. I wish I had better things to say since this is an unfortunate lone wolf one star rating in a sea of five stars for this company, but "real people, real reviews" is the rule.

Having lived with the original builder grade bath for close to 40 years, I…read moredecided it was time to start preparing to "age in place" and get my master bath completely redone - shower conversion, floor tile, cabinets, new toilet, wallpaper removal and painting. This was my first major remodel, so I don't really have anything to compare with. The nits I experienced were pretty minor and probably typical for a job this scale. I found Jose thru Yelp after verifying his other reviews were from real people and not AI generated. I had initially gotten quotes from several of the bathroom remodelers that advertise on TV and experienced sticker shock. One of them turned out to do only the wet area - I would have had to get someone else for the floors, cabinets, painting, etc. Their quote for just the shower area ended up being about what I paid Jose for the entire job. Another of the TV advertisers could do everything I wanted, but their quote was almost 3x what Jose quoted! Yes, they could do it in 2-3 days, but is that worth 3x the cost? One of the first nits I experienced was that Jose didn't tell me the whole master bedroom would be sealed off during the project. Not that big a deal, but I wish I'd known that in advance. They got the demo completed the first day. One of the more time-consuming parts was removing the old wallpaper, which seemed to take about 2 days (the old walls were completely papered). His crew foreman Javier is a master craftsman. I learned pretty quickly to trust his experience. When I had initially seen the tile backer boards installed for the shower, I thought they had forgotten the niche shelf I'd requested. He explained that goes in last. One of the other nits I experienced was that I had to buy a lot of the supplies myself. I would have much preferred just pointing to stuff in a catalog, and Jose go buy them. The biggest problem with that was the grout. I trusted the tile shop's recommendation on grout, and when I delivered it to Javier, he said that stuff is no good. He explained that since it has silicone, it constantly outgasses and leaves a film on the tile. I went online and saw some other reviews with the same comments, so that reinforced my decision to trust what he was doing. Similar experience with the safety grab bars. I just bought some from Amazon, which came with cheap nylon screw locks. Seemed pretty flimsy should you have to actually use them to prevent a fall. Javier was able to use drywall anchors to securely lock them in place. The last nit was the cabinet installation. They were in such a rush to finish the cabinets that the toilet hadn't even been installed. Since I switched to an elongated ADA style toilet, it turned out the medicine cabinet above the toilet could no longer be reached at the old one's height. They had to come back and lower it 4 inches. Again, an easy correction, but would have been unnecessary if they had put the new toilet in first. Jose's crew finished up in 2 weeks, but it was another week before the glass shower doors and mirror showed up to be installed. Anyway, they finally went in today, and I am very happy with the end results. My neighbor had his bath redone last year, and comparing Jose's work to my neighbor's handyman, Jose is miles ahead. I finally know what "Schluter" is. My neighbor doesn't have it, so there are sharp tile edges everywhere! Jose Robles Remodeling will definitely be in the running to do my other 2 bathrooms.

While I had a basic idea of what I wanted, I debated getting a formal project manager to handle coordination of the full install. With a ton of experience doing this kind of install, Marcus helped out so much that I was pretty much able to handle coordination of the main pieces and personnel without needing to hire anyone else. He did a great job making the vision come alive and was transparent with any problems that arises (and importantly fixing them when necessary). He was friendly, fair with pricing, and also very quick-- framing and installation took only 2 separate, spread out days (to allow for drywalling and parts arrival in between). My personal experience with him in terms of communication was excellent, but I also purposefully avoided peak summer season so as not to catch him at a busy time. I would not hesitate to hire him again.

I've dealt with Austin Garage Doors multiple times over a couple of years, for both new garage doors, and for installation of garage door openers. It's a family run business, and most if not all the employees are related. Here's my take: - Service: I generally deal with Joe, who seems to be one of the owners, but I'm not sure of this. Each time I've contacted the company, it's been Joe that has coordinated the work. He's responsive, and fairly available, and returns calls promptly. I appreciate this. Further, he's always polite, and very professional. He also takes great responsibility for the work he does. I could tell that he's the type of person that doesn't like to let people down. - Product: Joe is very knowledgeable about garage doors, and trends in the market. He can consult on pros/cons on various types of products that best fit your needs. - Price: In my experience, they're middle of the road. Not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. You're probably going to get a price right in line with market for whatever you purchase. TLDR: highly recommended on basis of immediate response, professional work, subject matter expertise, and fair price! My garage inexplicably mangled itself into a crooked, immobile mess. Assessing the damage, I found snapped brackets, broken cables, & twisted rails. I'm pretty handy, so I spend the evening trying to fix it, or at least close it, but had to admit defeat. The next morning I did a quick search and ended up calling AGDS. Joe answered immediately, provided a quote, and was at my house within hours. He fixed my garage door in less than 2 hours, and at my request - upgraded to some better components. It is now smoother and quieter than it was when I moved in. I highly recommend Joe and his services. My garage door was having some critical issues. I find him on Yelp (well, also to their credit they had their info on my garage door which they had worked on/installed for the previous owner) and he had great reviews there. I called him up on a Friday afternoon and he was able to come out the next day Saturday morning. Prompt, courteous, did not try to oversell me anything, and gave me fair options. I have a general handyman I almost used, but so glad I went with Joe because it's clear when it comes to all things garage-door related, he is an expert. He did the work in about 30 minutes, plus threw in a lock which I really appreciated - and immediately the garage door was working better than when we moved in. I cannot begin to tell you what a great company this is but I will try my best. The owner was very responsive. I had damage to my garage door around 11 AM and had a brand new garage door by 6 PM the same day. Miguel, who came to replace the door was friendly, professional, and work quickly and efficiently. The owner responded to my multiple text messages and even help me figure out why my garage door wasn't opening with my remote control. I had in advertently locked the controls on the garage door and didn't know it. Excellent experience! Called and was at my house within the hour, and gave me a straightforward estimate for repair. Our garage door and system was almost 20 years old. I decided to get a quote for a new system specifically because they didn't try to upsell me. I ended up going with the new system because after research the amount I was paying for materials and the labor was very reasonable. We called for the initial repair on a Sunday. By Monday afternoon I had a completely new door and system. The system was extremely quiet, and the new insulated door keeps my garage about 15 degrees cooler (which helps as there is a bedroom above it). My Garage door was not opening and closing smoothly so figured it just needed a tune up. I called the company that originally replaced my garage door but they were too expensive. So I called Austin Garage Door Solutions and notice they had fair pricing and good reviews. Joe came by to diagnose the issue the same day and he also notice that the spring was not holding up my garage door when you open it up manually which could lead to me burning out my unit quickly. Austin Garage Door Solutions did a great job repairing our garage door. They came out the same day and had everything completed in two hours from the time I called. They stayed in touch with me the whole time because I wasn't able to leave work to be there for the repair. The panels were partially off the rails and looked in bad shape. I wasn't sure if they were able to be saved, but they were able to save them. And now our garage door works better and is more quiet than before! Had an issue with my belt breaking. My system was over 10 years old so I opted to replace it with a newer model. I snapped a picture of the problem and they gave me an estimate over the phone as well as additional options I could go with. They were able to come out the same day and install a garage opener I purchased from a local store. The installation took less than an hour and they were very polite. These guys were great! Highly recommended. I contacted the gentleman probably around 8:30 pm on Tuesday. We had a torsion spring that busted and we literally could not get in our garage. They quoted us an amazing price to replace the spring and had it repaired with 13 hrs of the call. Literally the next morning! Yelp reviews can't be wrong so when I needed my garage door fix this was the first place I called. Joe from AGDS answered the call, gave me a time as to when someone would be over at my home. They are awesome! I consider myself handy but my garage door failed last night and the emergency release would not work which trapped my cars. The bracket was faulty and the cable had malfunctioned. I do not advise choosing this company due to their unprofessionalism and potential involvement in tax fraud. Despite my repeated requests for a receipt, the owner, Joe, has not responded. It appears that the company may not provide receipts in order to evade taxes and disregard service warranties. I strongly advise avoiding this suspicious business. This company rocks! I called on SUNDAY at 5pm because I could not get out of my garage. Despite being late on a weekend evening Joe was STILL able to come out and fix my garage door before the sun went down. Btw, I called like 5 places and they all had a similar mentality about giving ballpark quotes. Chris the technician happened to be in the area and I was able to meet him earlier.
