Called today to set an appointment to mount and balance four factory wheels on a car I am returning on lease, and dispense with the wheels that are on car presently. I made my request then was placed on hold... for over 15 minutes. While still holding, I called back again from another phone. I reached someone else who put me on hold for a few more minutes. At least he returned to the call, but told me the first guy went to lunch-- WHILE I WAS STILL ON HOLD. Nicely done. I have a brand new 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 with only 6k on it, so I was surprised when I was losing PSI in one of my tires. I couldn't see a nail in there so I took it over to Americas Tire Co after work yesterday to have them look at it, find the leak and patch it. Worse case scenario I've got a 120k warranty would should cover it. These guys were great! It turned out there was a nail in my tire and they fixed it right up. They went in and rebuilt the TPMS sensor, patched the leak and balanced my tires for FREE! I've been a customer in the past and will continue to be when my stock tires need changing. I've had two experiences here. 1) The front passenger tire on our then brand new 2013 VW Passat was shredded when driven by a construction site. We definitely needed a new tire. I checked online and every center asked between $230-$280 for a replacement. America's Tire was $179. It seemed almost too good to be true. But, my wife took the car in, they were prompt, very professional, balanced the tires, etc... and were true to their price. 2) Our other car had a front passenger tire with a nail in it. Made an appointment, 30 minutes later they met me at their parking lot as I pulled in, 30 more minutes and our tires were checked, patched and ready to go. Price: $0 - it's a free service. The right rear tire blew out after hitting a smallish object going 55mph. They charged me $100 to replace the tire with 2000 miles on it. A new one is $170. Gee thanks. There is only one cord in the sidewall of the continental extreme sport. Shocking for a high speed tire. What was really upsetting to me was that they refused to pump the other 3 tires up to spec. I have been here a few times and they have always been very helpful but there was one specific time they were really great! Our 4 year old daughter had just got her call for a liver/kidney transplant and we were on our way to the hospital when we got a flat tire! We called America's Tire and explained the situation and that we needed it to be fast. When we got there they helped us immediately and didn't even make ANY of us get of the car while they changed our tire. They gave us a used FREE tire and we were on our way in about 10 or 15 minutes!! The staff was very courteous, helpful and understanding. With an observed slow leak in one of my newer 1998 Plymouth Grand Voyager tires, I made an appointment to have it checked. They honored the appointment and checked this and other tires. The front two were worn, which I was aware of, so they persuaded me to add two new tires. The car had four Michelins, and this dealer didn't have Michelin replacements, so I opted for Continentals. Now I have two Continentals and two Michelins. Not optimal, but acceptable. I could have ordered the Michelins, but I didn't want to come back and spend another time period waiting for my car. On their first attempt to return my car, they had installed the new tires, but had not checked or repaired the leaking tire. I reminded them that this is why I came to them in the first place. Back the guy went, and after another 45 minutes, all was done. All in all, this was acceptable service, but I'd have appreciated it more if they'd fixed what I wanted fixed, and not focused so much on the new tires. I would like to recognize that their record keeping is good. They knew that my front two tires were seven years old, and that the back two tires were two years old. Enjoy! read more

One of my tires had a small leak which prompted me to make a schedule with America's Tires. Making an appointment with them was super easy to do and was all done online. On the day of my appointment, I went to check-in and didn't wait too long before a serviceman assisted me. After assessing my car, they took my keys and went to fix the tire. When they were done, they handed my keys back and told me that they patched up my tire and I was good to go... FREE of charge! Amazing! This would've cost me $100 to fix had I gone to a Honda dealership, but you can't beat FREE. And it was topped with great friendly service, too! They're the best and I'll be back if I have any more tire troubles :) read more

I cannot say enough praise about the quality and professionalism of the staff here. I came here to get a courtesy tire inspection because I had a nail in my tire. Not only were they able to find the nail and remove it, they noticed that the tire was a run flat and didn't need to be replaced. The dealership was trying to have me replace it for another expensive tire and also possibly replace others to keep the wheels properly balanced. Tips: - Go to their site first to do your research on what tires fit your needs and budget first, and also to check what's in stock at your local store. - Go during off hours 9-11 and 2-4pm, otherwise you'll be waiting through a crowd - You're bound to wait at least an hour so, there's IN-N-OUT and Marshall's across the street to help burn some time. I blew out my tire on the freeway and after a 4hour ordeal, finally was able to bring my car to America's Tire to get a replacement. The customer service was amazing. They worked as quickly as possible to help me, despite being swamped with other customers and dealing with a very unpleasant customer. The employee who dealt with this customer, I believe his name is Jeremy, was so professional and did his best to diffuse the situation. (The customer was a total a**!). I felt so bad for him but he handled it so well. It's hard to find customer service comparable to my experience at America's Tire. When it rained a few weekends ago I knew I needed new rubbers after my tires spun in place while making a turn. Quite a wild ride that was (and the only wild ride that I've had in a while if you know what I mean, sad I know now shut up) in my Corolla who I've name Rolly. Went online last weekend to America's Tire website, there was a special online deal going on for these tires ($50 off) so I booked the appointment and brought her in yesterday. I went with slightly better tire because Rolly deserves it (what would you know, she's mine and I love to spoil her). Appointment was at 12:30pm and during the wait my co-worker and I hit up In & Out that's across the street for some delicious animal style action (not that kind of action you sick bastard) . Went back to the shop about 35 minutes later and saw Rolly parked out in the front waiting for me. She looks so much better now, amazing what a new set of ________ can do to your girl. I use America's Tire and normally have good experiences. I've been to this location twice this week to get tires rotated on our two cars. This location has a staff that was amazingly accommodating both times I came in (as well as when I called on the phone). The staff was different both times I came in so it is clear that customer service is a priority for them. Also, they are rotating the tires for free on my new car. Pretty cool. The guy helping me right now is named Chinh. Roger, Pat & Lawrence are also great. I wish I had gotten the names of the guys who helped me earlier this week but I didn't. Great place. read more

Great service and good prices is the name of the game at America's Tire. Buying tires isn't fun, it's like paying a thousand dollars only to have something as good as you used to, but these guys do their best to ease the pain. I have always had friendly and quality service, and they will even price match online competitors like the Tire Rack with no questions asked. In terms of installation, you can't ask for better. They are quick, and over the course of 4 vehicles they have never scratched a wheel or made a mistake. When it comes to road warranty, they can't be beat; most stores will only pro-rate the value of a tire that needs to be replaced, but America's Tire replaces the whole thing no questions asked. It works in practice too, I've had several tires repaired or replaced under the program and with no hassle every time. I see some people in the reviews complaining that the sales folks "pushed" new tires on them when their current were near bald. However, bald tires are a safety hazard, and not just when it rains. They significantly increase braking distances and decrease road adhesion under all circumstances. A tire retailer cannot in good conscience service tires that are below the minimums because they are staking their reputation and your safety on their assessment. It's the same thing as asking your mechanic to disable the airbag light instead of fixing the airbag, they just can't do it. I've had the hard sell in many places, but America's Tire has always respected my wishes even when I opt for the cheaper choice. read more

LISTEN! If you need tires or tire related services - balancing, flat repair, whatever - GO here! These guys have *earned* my business, and they *will* earn yours too, if you give them the chance. I got a flat at a job site yesterday but was able to limp to a gas station and fill the tire enough to make it home. The next morning I woke up with *two* flats! Having a compressor at home, I filled them both and went to this store, expecting to walk out with my wallet $50 - $100 lighter for the repairs. They dismounted both tires, found a hole in one and repaired it, found no hole in the other and carefully showed my the interior of the tire to demonstrate that they could see no reason for the air loss in the tire itself. They noticed some corrosion on the wheel where the tire bead seats, and buffed away the corrosion as a precaution against air loss there. They also replaced both valve stems as an additional precaution. The counter rep - Paul - and the lead tech working on my truck - Steven - (there were two techs working as a team were as professional, well mannered and courteous as is humanly possible without being annoying about it. What did I pay for all of this? ZERO, NADA, ZILCH! This service was absolutely free, and that's why I refuse to buy tires anywhere but this company, at this location. I know this sounds a little odd, but I'm actually looking forward to buying tires from them just so I can reward them with my purchase! Did they try to sell me tires? Of course they did, that's how they make money. But there was no pressure, and because I know a thing or two about tires, I know the reasons they provided for why I should replace mine were absolutely valid, and I am confident they'd not have tried to sell me tires if mine were in good condition (mine are about six years old and are starting to show a good deal of age-related degeneration, though the tread depth is still good). I've already chosen my replacement tires and will be visiting them soon (happily!) to purchase them. I noticed my tire pressure light continued to come on even when I filled the tire with air, so I knew something was wrong. I stopped in a little after the opened on Tuesday (without an appointment). The staff greeted me in a friendly manner and was quick to help me with the issue (a screw in my tire). I was in an out in the amount of time it took me to grab my coffee from Starbucks. These guys are fantastic! They replaced a puncture for free, and also refilled my tires and checked the torque on all lug nuts without me even asking for it. I especially appreciated how they were careful to torque every lug nut to spec rather than sit there and wail on them with an impact like my previous tire store did, which makes the tires almost impossible to take off at home in order to replace a flat, do a brake job, etc. The only complaint I have is that they forgot to replace a valve stem cap on one of my Schrader valves. Because of the time it will take for me to go back and ask for a dust cap, I'm rating them four out of five stars. read more

I talked with him over the phone and was quoted the lowest price in town on a set of brand new tires for my car with no need to worry about a lower price. I stoped in a few minutes later after being told by the dealership I needed a full new set only to have Ron ensure me that two of my tires were still very good and only 2 needed to be replaced saving me a ton of money as I'm a college guy trying to afford the city living costs! As I was looking for my tire lock to give to the workers, I sliced my hand open and Ron was waiting with Neosporin and bandaids as soon as I got out of washing my hands. These guys are great (based on an easy job). I had a nail in my tire, and I was looking to get it removed, plugged and patched. - I made an appointment on the online scheduling web page (excellent). - At 10:45am there was no waiting to speak to a customer service representative (excellent). - He immediately walked out to my car to look at the nail. He said, "Hang on a second". He came back out with a pair of pliers and water spray bottle. He pulled the nail out of my tire, then sprayed water on it to demonstrate that it was not leaking. He told me if it isn't leaking now, I should be OK. - He said, "You're all set. No charge." (excellent) Quick, friendly and honest. I had only ever been to the America's tire on Brokaw and it seemed like it always took HOURS for tired to get replaced and it was ALWAYS busy. When I was told by a dealership that I would have to spend over $1000 for a new pair of rear tires, I immediately contacted America's Tire to see if they could do better. I got a quote that was a few hundred dollars less, and so I arranged to bring in my car. It does have a different style of wheel mount that requires a lot of torque, but they were able to figure it out and mount the new tires. Their attention to detail and safety was excellent, and though it took longer than usual to finish the job, I could feel confident that it had been done correctly. Customer service here is great. Even though I arrived at a very busy time, they were efficient in processing all the customers and the whole operation ran like a well-oiled machine. I will definitely be back. read more

This is a gleeful update to my previous five-star review. These guys are still wonderful. Anthony and Raul really hooked me up yesterday. I went in toward the end of the day with no appointment. I had been at my Toyota dealer down the street in Sunnyvale. Toyota told me they couldn't patch my tire with the nail in it. I had a distinct impression they we're wrong. Were they lying? Maybe. Or maybe they're not allowed to patch when the hole is too close to the sidewall. At any rate, intuitively I had a sense they were incorrect. Turns out I was right: not only did I get my tire patched perfectly by America's Tire, but because I'm a repeat customer they did it gratis! Toyota was going to charge me $60 (this was before they confirmed they couldn't perform the task). Toyota was desperately trying to convince me that I needed a new tire, that patching wouldn't work, and that it would wear incorrectly. They probably weren't going to stop there. Had I stuck around, they likely would have said I needed two new tires for the car to run as designed. You know, for it to be even Steven. The guys at America's are friendly and kind. You can't go wrong here. I'll be a customer for life. read more

Tips: Free Tire Patching at America's tire Came on a Tuesday during lunch and walked into their office. They seemed pretty busy. Was prompted briefly by an employee and got all the necessary information for a tire patching. They tried to sell me on buying new tires; however, i refused. They quoted me 40-60 minutes for patching. Walked across the street to the In-n-Out for lunch. Came back and my car still wasn't done. Waited about 20 more minutes and the car was ready. Still within the time frame quoted. Will come back because of free patching. read more

This is a great place. Customer-friendly and I didn't feel like they were trying to sell me on anything. They checked out the tires on my car and told me to come back in three months, that I didn't quite need to buy my tires yet. They also have the prices listed for all the competing stores, Costco, etc.They gave me some free estimates on what my tires might cost and suggested some tires in the mid-price range, about $60-$80. The lowest price tire in the store was $44 (prices do fluctuate). They also gave me a free tire gauge and told me once I buy anything there I will get free rotations, and they'd be happy to check my tire pressure anytime, even if I never bought anything. A very class act. Like every car-related place, the waiting room is complete dulls-ville. They recommend bringing in your car on a weekday at lunch and walk across the street to the Walgreen's shopping center to kill the hour. read more

After visiting America's Tire at a few locations, it is true that they are not all equal. In general I love them for tires and always feel like I'm getting a good deal. Maybe I could save a few bucks, but in general I think their prices are great. The Mountain View America's Tire rocks. It's excellent from the minute you pull up until the minute you pull away. They tell you up front how long it's going to be, and it usually is done earlier or on time. Their employees are top notch. The guy that helped me (I forgot his name) seemed like an ex-tech guy. So efficient. No wi-fi while you're waiting, but come on, everyone has a fast enough phone to have their own wi-fi hotspot nowadays. Excellent, excellent, excellent. Highly recommend. read more

I was in dire need of new tires. I checked out discounttire.com and then realized that americastire.com had a branch in Mountain View and it only cost about $70 to install and take away my old tires. They have a $40 off deal with Yokohama & Pirelli tires right now. So I called around 12 noon to see if they had an appointment available an they took me at 1:45pm. I actually showed up a little earlier and they took me right away. I was in and out in about 30 min. Great quick service. No pressure to try to up sell me to a more expensive tire. And it was pretty reasonable. Ended up spending about $100 a tire including warranty and installation. read more

They are seriously the best. Came here because my mom busted one of my tires and got it fixed here because they were the only place that had my special tires. The service was fast, efficient and excellent! They are also really knowledgable in all the cars and didn't take advantage and try to sell me things that I didn't need. Fast forward two weeks and I noticed that another tire had a tear in it so I took it back and was also 30 minutes late to the appointment but they were super understanding and still saw me. They explained to me that the tear was okay and it didn't need to be fixed so I felt reassured and left. I love how they are honest and just want to help you instead of taking advantage because they could have easily said I needed a new tire and charge me for it... but they didn't! read more

This place is great. My family has been coming here for ages for anything tire-related, and recently I went for the first time on my new car. The customer service is really great. A really nice gal helped me out and she was very communicative and very friendly. I didn't have an appointment and she gave me a quote of an hour and fifteen minutes. My plan was to just sit and wait, since I had no car to go somewhere. When she was ringing me up, tire rotation and alignment is free! It's amazing that they provide this service at no charge. I can only imagine how much it would have cost me if I had gone back to the dealership. Also, my tire light was on and I wanted them to fix it for me. They said that they checked my tires and nothing was wrong with them, they actually had to deflate them a little. The guy said that the meter should reset itself and the light should go off, but it still hasn't, which is one thing that bothers me a little. My car just got out of the warranty period and the last time I went to Sunnyvale VW for my 30k tune up I can almost swear they did something to it to make it start breaking since it's not under warranty anymore. Anyway, I digress. My car was done exactly at the one hour and fifteen minute mark, right when they said it was going to be done. I always appreciate it when times like that are given accurately. I'll definitely be coming in again and will be a regular. And when I need new tires? I'll be there! I have to say, without a doubt, best experience ever! I had a nail in my tire and attempted to seek help at Sunnyvale Honda, but they were adamant that I would need a new tire and they couldn't help. They actually referred me to ATC. I show up and Paul was THE most helpful and patient. He thought it would just need a plug and I would be ok. Best of all, no charge! Bought some tires from here and they told me it would take 2 hours to put on. I sat down and watched someone with a nicer car come in and get there tires changed in 45 mins. Then I ubered home because I didn't want to wait. They call me back after waiting 2 hours to tell me they only have 3 of my wheels in stock. That I could wait a day or two at most for a new tires. Basically they didn't check their inventory before selling me tires. read more

I arrived at the vacaville shop to be told that they wouldn't honor the quote and it was going to be 110 dollars more than the quote. I ended up talk my car elsewhere. This place is fantastic. Besides having great prices and really good customer service, they offer a lot of really neat perks, like fixing flat tires for free (even if you didn't buy your tires there!) For example, we called them up when my girlfriend's Prius got a flat tire and were pleasantly surprised when they said it was totally free. I brought the car in the next day and the fixed the tire, re-inflated it, and put it back on the car in place of the donut. Did I mention they did this for free? I then bought some Hankooks for my Jetta, and the price was extremely reasonable. Recently, one of them got a flat. They weren't able to fix it this time (because the hole wasn't on the tread) but they ordered a replacement and put it on for me. The whole thing only cost around $30, which surprised me because the tires were originally closer to $50 each. So that was another pleasant surprise. They are also really fast. Despite being relatively busy, they were able to put on my new tire in about 30 minutes (after giving me an estimate of 45 minutes). In fact, I've never had to wait more than an hour here for any work. Great place for tire-related stuff. Highly recommended. read more

Well, I had somewhat a mixed experience with these guys. Here are the reasons why: 1. Ordered tires which were not in stock. The staff explained that this take a couple of days, which is totally cool. Well but the couple of days turned into a few days - not so cool. Sigh, but they called eventually to set up an appointment. 2. American Tires guarantees that you are out of the shop within 45 minutes if you have an appointment scheduled. Giving the fact we are all busy, this promise seems almost too good to be true. So let's see: a) wait time to talk to a rep at the shop: roughly 10 minutes (at around 4pm on a Wednesday) b) looking at car, paperwork and getting things moving: another 10-15 minutes c) actual installation time: about 45 minutes Overall the service experience was good (cannot speak about their consultation practices since I had pre-ordered) but out in 45 minutes - uhm yeah no. read more

Just bought 4 tires for my Explorer. Wow, what service. I had gone to their website the night before. It was very easy to see what tires were available for my car, and what others had to say about that tire. I chose my tires ( Coopers) based on price and reviews. Then I was able to see which store had it in stock, and make a reservation for 9 AM this morning very easily. This morning, went to the shop on El Camino in MTV, and was greeted by a very courteous person. 5 min to check in and get the work going. No hassles with them trying to up sell to a more expensive tire, or additional services. In and out in less than 1 hour. I'm a fan. read more
