I have bought tires here at the store going back about 15 years and generally that have had good prices and good service. Today they put the wrong tires on the car even after I had to order the correct size online and got a confirmation email with the correct size. The size I ordered was 175 65 R14 and size that they put on 195 60 R14. it is amazing to me that they could have made such a mistake. Then after they put on the correct tires they forgot to change the registration certificate to reflect the correct tires. At least they did give me $50 discounts back on my credit card. So as with all types of services, generally it's a good idea to check what they do. read more

I drove in off the street on a busy Friday lunchtime, with a tire that had dropped 10 lbs overnight. Within 90 minutes, and on time with regard to their estimated period for completing the work, I had had the tire fixed and wheels rotated....all FREE of charge. I was quite prepared to pay for these services and very grateful for their generosity and rapid attention to my car. This is the second time I visited America's Tire. Yes I wanted to give them a second chance. I arrived with a tire I knew could be patched. Sure enough they said it could not. They never called me to follow up even though they said they would in a couple of hours. After 5 hours I called them. They told me my tire was on order. I told them I was specific in that I did not want a new tire. I was not ready to replace. Then when I went to pick up my car, they did not put air in the tire as I requested. I was quite happy with the work these guys did. They replaced all 4 tires on my car and only left 1 very small minor scratch. The job took 90 minutes and the service was great; the guy I worked with gave me updates on the progress every 40 minutes. I would give them, 4.5 stars if I could, There are 2 reasons they don't get 5 stars: - They told me it would take an hour and it took 1.5 hours. - The price was fair and although they seem to have discounts and coupons all of the time, none were available. read more

Went there to get a new set of tires for the car. Didn't have an appointment since it was an emergency (one of the tires had a nasty bulge and had to be replaced right away), spent about 5 minutes in line and about 1.5 hours waiting for the car. They were extremely busy (about 10 cars in line) but dealt with everything quite quickly. They have the lifetime warranty on some tires and free rotation. There are several things you can occupy yourself with while you are waiting - a strip mall across El Camino Real has a coffee shop, Japanese market and Walgreens. Placed an order for tires in Dec 2018 was told 1 week to get the tires in. A week later was told a few more days. A few days later was told those tires would not come in and could get a better setoff tires for the same price only those tires would take 1 day to get in and I would be called back. A day later no call. Waited 2 days and called and was told just wait a few more days. Then the holidays hit and all hope was lost for any resolution. Waited till February to call back and gently explain what had happened and basically told I just needed to stop by, they have tires and then I was hung up on. People always seem friendly on the phone but serious I just want some tires and wanted to setup an appointment so as to not waste more of my time. I have been to this location for years and always have been satisfied with service, but not this time! First, the vendor tried to over sell me 4 tires, when I only needed 2 (I know when tires need to be replaced). Second, I am told it would take 45 minutes to one hour for service. When I come back 2h later, my car is still parked outside and they have not started. I am told I was given an estimate... The manager gets 2 guys to work on my car. Now I have to leave to go pick up my kids from school! Third, my car rolls out, the tires look awfully low, so I asked what is the recommended pressure, the mechanic tells me 3.5 (however the tire says 4.0...), I ask for him to check the tires again, he does, 3.1, 3.8, 3.5, and 3.4! He looks livid, I am not happy. I just paid $650, nothing went right and they didn't even check the pressure of my tires before sending me out on the road. Got a huge nail on my tires last week. I calls around to see how much shops will charge to patch it up and i got anywhere from $10-$90. since i heard about America Tires from one of my friend, I called them and they said it's would be free "as a courtesy" even though i didn't buy anything from here before. I gave them my friend account since he bought a set of tires here before. They took about 45 minutes to patch up the hole, kinda long but it turn out great. FYI, I did some research just to see if in case they can't fix it and I need a buy a new tire. they have the lowest price and can beat other competitor price as well. If i am in the market for a new set of tires anytime in the future this is the place for me to go to. read more

You know, I hate having to get new tires. They're wicked expensive, a pain in the ass to have to drive out and at places like Firestone you get the hard sell about add-ons and lifetime this and that. I hate that. America's Tire Co. was so nice. I drove up, making sure I stayed under 55 MPH with the spare on, and parked, the guy met me and we went out, we got the info on the tire and within five minutes, I had the car in to the bay. Incredibly, he said it would be 45 minutes, it was more like 15, and what's more, they changed one of the bolts on the tire that had become stripped with no more charge! The only reason it's 4 instead of five is that they soft-sold me on a set of lightweight tires. As soon as I showed no interest, the guy stopped, but really, I just like it when people sell me things and that's it. Still, I highly recommend them. read more

This was my first time replacing tires on my Honda Civic and it couldn't have been done any easier, cheaper, or faster! The following is my experience: I researched tire replacement and it seemed like an expensive and complicated maintenance that I had to do. I had 60k miles on my original tires. I stumbled upon America's Tires website. It's so helpful. You get to see reviews of lowest price guaranteed tires, a complete cost breakdown, and have the ability to schedule an appointment. I had errands to run Saturday morning, so I scheduled an 8am appointment on Saturday, thinking I'd be done around 9-9:30. Saturday arrives. I arrive at 7:45 because I'm usually early and wait in my car because I'm not in a rush and I'd like to be respectful of my appointment time even though all their employees are already getting prepped for work. Anyways, some guy gets there shortly after me and is basically hounding at the guys to get started on his car right away. All the employees graciously help him and get started before 8, which is when they open. They treated him with respect even though that guy made them start early. I know I would be pissed at a customer for doing that. Anyways, 8:00am arrives and a bunch of the employees come out the door and greets everyone. I felt like VIP and I only have a civic! Mike was the person who got me situated. I gave him my web order for my Yokohama Avid Touring-S tires and he suggested that I change tires because the tires I'm picking are not performance tires that I currently have and offered several options of performance tires and showed me ones that were even cheaper than my Avid Touring ones. I politely said no, and he was cool with it. Within 5 minutes, Jesus started working on my car. Sitting in the waiting area, you can see outside. I've never seen such a great team working there. It made me want to work there! Everyone is constantly working on something, wearing gloves, and even safety googles. These guys are professionals! 30 minutes later, Mace/Mack (I forgot) comes out to tell me that my car is almost done and went over the replacement, the warranty, when I should come back for free balance and rotations, and what kind of damage they would fix for free. Then I stood outside and out came my car with shiny new tires. I never knew car maintenance could be so easy and convenient. I will definitely return and recommend this place to others! read more

Beware of dishonest sales people. I've been a longtime customer of America's Tire Store. I purchased my last three sets of tires from different locations and use to swear by this company. In April of last year, I purchased (aka was "sold") a new set of 4 tires from the Mountain View location which were supposed to last me 75,000 miles. 5 stars for customer service! My boyfriend made an appointment to get our two front tires replaced and he was able to get a same day appointment. We got to the shop before our scheduled appointment and they were able to accommodate us. We sat in the waiting area since the tire change would take about an hour and the employee who checked us in, Raul, offered us bottled waters. It made me feel appreciated and cared for as a customer. Raul was very personable and didn't make us feel like we were getting ripped off. He joked with my boyfriend, saying that our tire needed replacing because we were racing in our 2012 Toyota Corolla LOL I always feel a little uncomfortable getting my car serviced but not at this place. Even as I observed the other employees, every customer that came in was greeted and if it seemed like the line at the register was getting too long, the employees made sure to get through every customer quickly and efficiently. This "free tire repair" is a total scam. I called them and asked, how much to repair a tire. They said it's free if it's fixable. I felt something fishy right there, but decided to give it a try. Although I don't mind paying 20 bucks. When I was there, they asked me, if I wanted them to replace the tire if it's not fixable. I said to leave it like that. So I left the car at their facility and went back to work. They called me 1 hour later and (of course) said, that it's not fixable. That was exactly what I predicted. When I came back the nipple cap was missing and they didn't even try to pump some air into the tire to make the sensor go away. Why it's a scam? Because I went to another place, where they fixed the tire within 5 minutes for 15 bucks. The End. read more

I have been coming to this location for almost 20 years, gotten tires for 8-9 cars, and NEVER had a problem. ALWAYS get the tire warranty. They don't push it on you, but do recommend it, and it's worth it. Gotten at least 5 tires replaced FOR FREE, no questions asked, and it has more than paid for itself. They listen to you, definitely help if you're on a budget, and I have always been pleased with their recommendations. I used to be able to go to America's Tire and get a good deal on tires and rims I sent all my friends and family there. I used to get flyers in the mail that had offers that were enticing enough to get me to go in and share them with other people. I now have not seen their ads when I go there there's always a super Longline or even to get an appointment at takes forever. They used to be the corner tire store now it's overwhelming there parking lot is horrible even to get air in your tires which used to be fast they have now put around the corner in a parking lot that you cannot maneuver in or get out of. I waited 20 minutes yesterday to get air in my tires. I will never do that again. I'm sorry to say the service has gone downhill the wait times have gone up hill and the value is gone in my opinion read more

The car tire experience, for most of us, should be simple: the right tire, reasonable price, good service, a trustworthy vibe. This place is all those. I've been going to America's Tire in Mountain View for years, with multiple cars, including a Volvo wagon and Nissan Z car. I've had tires repaired multiple times for running over stuff. Once, I didn't notice that enough air had been lost in the tire that it scrubbed the sidewall, which makes a tire unrepairable. The tire had a good amount of mileage on it, and I was pleasantly surprised that a replacement was pro-rated for the mileage. Since it was my screw up, I was okay with hoofing the full cost. So, happiness there. The stories about free repairs even for folks who didn't buy their tires there, are true. We're always recommending the place, so it was easy when a friend needed a nail pulled and plugged. We were all pleasantly surprised when the repair was done, no cost. But it's good business, eh? You gotta believe when she needs new tires, she's going to that same store. Maybe it's all marketing, but I do like all the safety stuff they do: the horn honking when they back up, the two-man guiding out of the bays. Maybe you hadn't noticed. There's also this running thing they do when they drive your car up when you leave. I don't know that they do it for every time, but when I get my car, the guy usually runs back into the shop. Even if they don't run for you, you might notice in the shop that they seem to hustle around. Gotta like that. It oozes "I'm into what I'm doing." You sort of connect that to the quality of their work. Just contrast that with the people who are in slo-mo, bleeding attitude on you. I'd like to complain about something. I wanted Wi-Fi the other day for a tire rotation (free!). But I can't. I made an appointment, they took me in right away, and the whole thing was done in 20 mins. Please, guys. Keep up the good work. Mike was very nice, knowledgeable, and patient. I came by to get a second opinion about my tires and he told me that they would last longer than what I was told by another shop. Mike didn't try to sell me anything. He looked over my tires, patiently answered all my questions without rushing, and filled up my tires with air without me even asking. I would feel comfortable buying my tires from him in the future. I now come here routinely to get free air in my tires. I just pull right up and someone just comes up and fills it up for me without my having to get out of the car. Great service! read more

Ok, so the manager Doug messaged me after he saw my review and told me to contact him personally. I tried twice but he wasn't available so talked to one of the other guys. Talked to him for a bit, much better than the other guy that prompted the previous review. He set me up with a tire order and estimated three days. The only glitch was four days later no call so had to call them. For some reason they never got shipped from the warehouse so they did an overnight and called me when they arrived the next biz day. I arrived for my appointment, service was very good but took extra time since they had to try one tire to ensure it actually fit since they were aftermarket wheels. Was good to go so they finished the job. They also threw in a comped set of locking lug bolts since the ones I had would not fit with the new wheels. Ordered 4 new tires for my truck. Was happy to see they didn't try to up sell me or anything, and had what I ordered in stock. The front desk was very kind to me, as I had 2 kids in tow. They moved a chair for me in a corner so we could huddle together to watch a video on my phone while they replaced my tires. They noted I had a kid with special needs so they made sure my truck didn't get bumped and I was out within an hour. The staff was very helpful and I waited a few minutes to have my tires checked. The service person said I had a nail in my tire. He then said he can patch it up until I decide on getting a new tire but to be cautious where I drive and not to wait to long to ge a new tire.
