Stopped by on a Tuesday at noon as a treat for getting through a dental appointment across the street Very busy (for good reasons) but easily found two seats at the bar. Staff was very friendly. Decor was classy. Loud, but a lot of energy in the room. Drinks and food came out quickly. The quality of the food was outstanding.
Ammatolí is one of those places that feels special before the food even arrives. The space is beautiful, with elegant chandeliers, warm textures, and thoughtfully curated décor that creates a welcoming yet elevated atmosphere. Whether you're seated for a casual lunch or a celebration, the ambiance strikes the perfect balance between upscale and comfortable. The food was equally impressive. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, vibrant, and light while still being full of flavor. The mezze selection was beautifully presented, the hummus silky smooth, and the flatbreads were crisp and delicious. The chicken plate was well seasoned and tender, and even the sides felt thoughtfully prepared. Nothing felt heavy or overly rich, allowing the quality of the ingredients to shine through. Service was another highlight. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely seemed to care about ensuring we had a great experience. Hospitality like that elevates an already wonderful meal. The location is also very convenient, with nearby parking structures that make visiting surprisingly easy for downtown Long Beach.
A modern Mediterranean restaurant with delicious food and a lovely atmosphere filled with natural sunlight. It was not crowded during a Wednesday lunch. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu items. Our order: * Three Way Mezza w/ Roasted Beets Hummus, Mutabbal, Falafel, & Housemade Pita: This was my favorite dish of the meal. The housemade pita was fresh, warm, and fluffy. I enjoyed being able to try a variety of sides with the Three Way Mezza. * Grilled Kebab Plate (steak replacement) w/ Vermicelli Rice, Hummus, & Garden Salad: The steak was cooked perfectly, and the sides were just as delicious. * Spicy Garlic Lemon Chicken Plate w/ French Fries & Tabbouleh: The chicken was juicy and flavorful. They also provide an extra side of the spicy garlic sauce, which was a nice touch. The dip portion sizes were generous, and we had plenty left after we finished eating. The bathrooms were clean and aesthetically decorated. Paid street parking is available nearby.
I don't often go to Long Beach but if I were to go back again, I'd definitely come back to Ammatoli. First off, the restaurant is gorgeous. Very beautiful. Secondly, the food is fantastic. I met my friend here over memorial weekend, and we split several dishes. - Roasted beets labneh: my friend is gluten free so our server brought out veggies for her which was very nice. The labneh was slightly sweet from the beets and so good. - Falafel: comes with a tahini sauce but also were great to scoop up the labneh with. - Greek salad: just yum - Beef shawarma: omg this was so good. Probably my favorite thing that we ordered.
This was my second time back and it hit even better! Our server Mason was amazing and so friendly. We ordered the pita, spicy hummus, avocado delight, batata harra, spicy garlic lemon chicken, and gyro shawarma. Everything we ate was 10/10 I want to keep going back just to try everything else on the menu. The vibe is so cute and perfect for a girls night or date.
Why did I wait so long to eat here??? Food is fantastic, service is great, vibes are so cutesy. Food: spicy hummus wasn't too spicy. Smooth and very good. Arugula and beet salad was FIRE. Pita is perfect. Skip the chicken skewers and go with beef or steak instead. Shrimp skewers were great. Beer and wine only! Parking: structure nearby, 2 hours free Wait: 5 minutes on Saturday right before 5pm. Get the reservation if you have a group or go later than that. Such a good place for groups, events, or dates. Absolutely staying in the rotation.
We came to Ammatoli for a birthday brunch for my husband, and honestly, it was such a good choice. The place is really pretty and feels relaxed enough to enjoy time with family. Mary took care of us and she was great--super helpful. We followed a lot of her recommendations and she didn't miss. We ended up doing more of a family-style spread, which was perfect for our group of 5. The hummus with chicken shawarma, fattet hummus, foul mudammas, and mutabbal were all really flavorful. The shakshuka was a standout, and the falafel came out fresh and crispy. Everything paired so well with the warm, freshly baked pita. For mains, we shared the mixed mashawi--kafta, ribeye kebab, and lamb chops and everything was cooked just right. The meats were tender, well-seasoned, and you could tell they knew what they were doing. We also had vermicelli rice on the side, and of course had to end with dessert--knafeh and Umm Ali, plus Turkish coffee. Such a good way to wrap up the meal. It was just a really nice, easy celebration--good food, great service, and time with family. Definitely a spot we'll come back to.
We had an amazing dining experience at Ammatoli! Every dish was packed with authentic flavors and made with obvious care. I especially loved the hummus topped shawarma (we got the beef with spicy hummus), 3 way mezza, the skewers and the freshly baked pita. What made our brunch even more special was our server, Jilane. She was warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and provided outstanding service from start to finish. Her recommendations were excellent, and she made us feel genuinely welcomed throughout our meal. We'll definitely be back and hope to be served by Jilane again!
Step into a chic well designed atmosphere. Got a bit of luck sitting with Cole our bartendar. I truly appreciated his attention to detail and recommendations. I have never had wine from Lebanon and the Ksara paired well. I am having diffulculty reviewing the brunch menu because the hummus, lamb, gyro, and mildly savory desserts brought me to near tears. Which usually means just order what you're feeling, it's all delish. As we are ending our 10 day journey through the southwest James Beard and Michelin spots from Phoenix to Las Vegas. This was by far our best meal!
So worth going if you can. Excellent food. I would definitely order the hummus, and the falafel, both tasted so fresh and had great flavor. You have to order the pita bread. I would come back just for that alone. Service was great. The t brought all the food out quickly and answered all the questions we have about the menu. Well worth the drive to Long Beach.
An absolutely gorgeous dinner, and one of the favorite meals I've ever had. This meal may have restored my faith in the world. We over-ordered just a tad, with no regrets. Everything just sounded so good, and it was the right call because everything we got was bursting generously with flavor. We ordered: -Mujadarra (incredible) -Spicy Hummus (mouth-watering) -House Made Pita (obviously) -Spicy Garlic Lemon Chicken (perfect) -Moussaka (my newest obsession) -Walnut Baklawa (could not resist, glad I didn't) -Turkish Coffee Service was fast. The restaurant is tasteful and airy. A perfect date night spot. Pete took care of us. He was an excellent, funny, and very kind server!

We had a great experience for Mother's Day brunch. Even though it was very busy, the atmosphere was still really nice and enjoyable. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the food was delicious. Everything was well organized despite the crowd, and we had a wonderful time. We'll definitely be back! read more
Very elegant restaurant with beautiful decorations and design. The bar looks amazing and the lighting is perfect for a date night. The service is just a good. The food is also very good! My favorite dish has been the moussaka, but I am biased because I love me a good lasagna. I've come here a handful of times and each time has been great! Found Infatuation's 20 Best Restaurants in the LBC and made a last minute reservation. Caught the beginning of the Dinner menu at 3pm with my niece and a friend of hers for an award celebration! Faryn took great care of us and even recommended a nice Sancerre. Everything from start to finish was amazing.. What a gorgeous restaurant with all the finest design details to match the divine food! Thank you, Chef Dima Habibeh for sharing gorgeous journey through this culinary experience. Look forward to coming back to try the other dishes! I have been impressed by the food and beverage quality every time I go to Ammatoli on East 3rd Street. It is by far my favorite restaurant in Long Beach, and everyone I have gone with loves it. I recommend making a reservation in advance on OpenTable as they do get quite busy, but ensure your full party can commit as they do charge per person for any last-minute cancellations. For parking, I recommend the structures just up the street. A must-order is the mint lemonade ($6). It is the best balance of flavors, it isn't too sweet, and they use fresh mint. Although it doesn't come with free refills, we usually buy an extra lemonade to-go as well. Our server Cameron G was very thorough with checking back with the kitchen on items regarding food allergies, and he always made sure we had enough hot water and regular water. It's a great place for groups if you make a reservation in advance because they have something everyone will love, and a lot of the dishes are meant for sharing. I love both the lamb kebab mashawi ($28) and the ammatoli chicken shawarma ($26). It doesn't automatically come with rice, but you can add a side of Vermicelli Rice for the table for $80. Excellent food, service and ambiance. Free 2 hour parking at the parking structure nearby. We really enjoyed our dinner with Cameron, who had wonderful recommendations for our lovely meal Food/Drink- 5 stars We split the family mashawi feast between the 4 of us and it was more than enough food. Skewers- we tried all the meats (chicken, kofta, ribeye steak, top sirloin lamb and shrimp). Everything was very flavorful and juicy. It's hard to decide which was my favorite because they were all so good, but the shrimp really stood out because of how sweet and delightful it was. Fattoush salad- pretty good Hummus, mutabbal, batata harra were pretty good, but I would say the roasted beets hummus was my favorite of all the mezzas Osmalieh Ice cream- this dessert was fantastic. I perfect blend of creamy and sweet goodness, without being too creamy or sweet. I would definitely order it again A Date with cake- very good and decadent. It was a good mix with the Osmalieh, but I would say the Osmalieh ice cream was my favorite Service- 5 stars Cameron was our server and he was excellent with guiding us through the menu and his recommendations were excellent Bottom Line Very delicious meal that has me wanting to come back for more. read more
Shame on me for not having reviewed sooner! Ammatoli has been my favorite Eastern Mediterranean restaurant since it opened and I always recommend others to go. Ornate hanging lamps, high ceilings, arches and greenery make for an airy, exotic, yet modern interior. The outdoor area seats about 8 small parties and is dog friendly. Beer and wine only, along with nonalcoholic beverages, but they carry an awesome selection of Lebanese, French and Italian wine. Their warm, soft, puffed pitas are a must with a few mezzas. My favorites are the spicy and beet hummus, mutabbal (roasted eggplant spread) and stuffed grape leaves. Most of the mezzas are vegetarian, rich in flavor and perfect for sharing. My go-to entree is the Spicy Lemon Garlic Chicken ($32). The crispy skin on the half rotisserie is already bursting with zest but pouring the spicy garlic lemon sauce over the vermicelli rice and chicken sends me every time. The creamy garlic sauce is the cherry on top. During my last visit, I tried the Ouzi Lamb Chops and a new dish, Shishbarak. The lamb was perfectly cooked medium rare with light seasoning, aromatic basmati rice, green peas, carrots, toasted nuts, cucumber and yogurt salad. The Shishbarak was a fusion take on dumplings filled with ground beef and lamb, creamy yogurt sauce, Aleppo pepper and pine nuts. Elevated, yet comforting and delicious. In fact, everything I've had here has been wholesome and delicious, reminding me of my friend's mom's cooking. Each dish is made fresh, in house and with love. Chef Dima deserves her flowers, being recognized by the James Beard Foundation, Eater LA and LA Times' best restaurants over the years. Service has consistently been warm, hospitable and quick. Shout out to our last server, Mary, who took exceptional care of our party of 5. Street parking may be hard to find during busy times, but the parking structure a block away offers 2 hours free! read more

We came here on a busy Saturday for lunch, and street parking was almost impossible -- definitely plan ahead. There are public parking structures a few blocks away, and I'd recommend making a reservation if you can. We waited about 20 minutes for an outdoor table, which wasn't too bad considering the weekend rush. We ordered the Roasted Beets Hummus with Pita, the Falafel Mezza, Tabbouleh Salad, and the Palestinian Msakhan to share. Every dish was packed with flavor, and everything we tried was delicious. The standout favorites were definitely the chicken and the hummus -- absolutely worth ordering. Overall, a great spot for a weekend lunch with tasty dishes and a lively atmosphere! read more

Came here on the 1st for a dinner date and was left in awe. To start the vibes are great, the atmosphere and overall lighting is perfect. Lots of detail to the decor and dim lighting that creates the overall ambiance. The servers are very nice and went over the menu from top down, giving great recommendations. We ended up ordering the house pita with mutaabal, ammatoli moussaka, and a beef schwarma wrap. To start, the pita is cooked to order and is just divine! It pairs perfectly with the mutaabal which reminds me of baba ganoush, also an eggplant based dip. The distinct difference I noticed that makes it amazing here is how toasty the mutaabal is, with every bite leaving you wanting more, and the pomegranate seeds are not just great to add color, but also give a sweet and crunchiness to the mutaabal. Next the ammatoli moussaka, DELICIOUS! Similarly to a lasagna, but lighter on the stomach and, might I add, tastier! It was also rich in flavor and is made up of potatoes, beef, eggplant, etc. paired with the habanero sauce, it added a nice light kick! The schwarma was my partner's dish, but from the few bites I had of it, it was also cooked to perfection! Overall it was a great dining experience and dinner! I am glad that the food was delicious and the restaurant was not only for pictures/vibes! Looking forward to the next time we come back. read more
Came to Ammatoli and it was good, but service and experience overall was not as ideal. Heydi at first was great for the kids but then she got super busy and each time she came by, she scurried away before we could ask for something else. She was a bit abrasive too at different points, and then tried to make up for it later by asking us questions about us at the very end. This place also has the feeling of nickel and diming customers. We asked for a little extra olive oil and apparently that is 4 dollars (didn't know until we got the bill). Heydi offered refills (which is 12 dollars for the mint lemonade, but didn't know it at the time). There is a sign that tells you that they can kick you out after an hour and a half or 2, depending on your party size. It just doesn't set a great tone. We got the fava bean mezza and wish they told us that it was mashed fava beans. Not my favorite as it tasted like refried beans. Heydi raved about the beet hummus but it wasn't that great. Regular hummus is so much better. Avocado salad was pretty good - would get that again. Ice cream was a hit with the kids. Overall, great ambiance and food quality but the service and overall tone set were a bit off putting. read more

The service was incredible. Our waitress made sure everyone was not just content, that we were happy and satisfied and we were. The good was by far the perfect amount of richness and spice. The Naan I got had small crumbles of falafel and was perfectly fluffy, soft, and crunchy on the outside. The dressing on my salad was so tasty it made my mouth water. Overall, I give it a delicious vote. Very good for the price. read more

First time here and I absolutely cannot wait to come back. We came for lunch and seated right away. We split the roasted beets labneh and spicy lemon chicken with spicy hummus and tabbouleh sides. I don't even like beets but I am going to be thinking about that labneh for a long time. All the food was soooooo good. Shout out to Kiara for suggesting all of these items and being the best waitress ever! Inside is absolutely stunning and perfect for date night. 12/10 recommend! read more

Ammatoli in Long Beach is easily one of the best dining experiences in the area. Located in Downtown Long Beach, it has the perfect neighborhood-restaurant feel while still feeling like a destination spot. Parking can be found on the street or in nearby public parking lots, which makes it fairly manageable for a busy area. The ambiance is beautifully done. It is warm, cozy, and inviting with an elevated yet comfortable vibe. It feels intimate without being stuffy, and you can tell a lot of care went into the design and overall atmosphere. The food was outstanding. We ordered the Palestinian Msakhan which was incredibly tender, flavorful, and comforting, with perfectly seasoned chicken and a richness that really stood out. I loved dipping the taboun bread with the chicken in the cucumber and yogurt salad. I even had leftovers (it was a HUGE portion for 1 person) that tasted just as great the next day. This dish could've even been shared with another person. We also ordered the Shishbarak which was cooked beautifully. The dumplings were nice and pillowy, swimming in a delicious and tangy yogurt sauce. We had also ordered the Housemade pita, Hummus, and the Spicy hummus as well as the Falafel (which I did not take pictures of). The Falafel was probably one of the best Falafels that I have tasted. It was fresh and moist with a nice crispy texture on the outside, with not one bit of dryness. The hummus was also good, but the Falafel definitely stood out. For dessert we had the Osmalieh Ice Cream which was also delicious. I loved the chewy texture of the dates at the bottom of the ice cream and the shredded kataifi on the top. It was surprisingly not too sweet, which I liked. The service was also great. We had a large party and our orders were taken quickly and our food brought out just as quick. Our waters were continuously being refilled, and we didn't have to ask for anything. The server knew immediately to bring to-go boxes or to provide a new spoon so I could put my leftovers in a box. Definitely great service! One thing to note: Ammatoli does not have a full bar, but they offer a solid selection of wine and beer, which pairs nicely with the menu. Also, I think it's kind of odd that the restaurant closes at 7pm on certain days, but you can still make reservations after the closing time and the last call is at 7:30pm. Overall, Ammatoli delivers exceptional food, a welcoming atmosphere, and a memorable dining experience. This is the kind of place you'll think about long after your meal and absolutely want to return to. I know I definitely am, and I just went there yesterday. It's that good! read more
Went on a Saturday around 1PM and it was the perfect meal! The restaurant is a beautiful space and was lively with families and brunch dates happening all around us. Our server was so friendly and made the best suggestions, my party of 3 ended up ordering: - Palestinian Msakhan -Arugula and Beets salad -Fatteh Hummus -Pita Bread All of the choices were great and good portions! OMG what a delicious and delightful find. I had the brunch hummus and fresh pita bread +2 fabulous desserts. Everything was very flavorful very well balanced flavors and beautifully presented. Clearly homemade from scratch with the best possible ingredients. The bread was fresh out of the oven. Definitely the best brunch I've had in many years. Couldn't be more enthusiastic. Even the waitress was adorable and very friendly. Extra points for having an outside area where my dog was aloud to sit at my table. I was too busy enjoying the food to take pictures of it. So I'll have to drive back there from LA soon to eat there again. read more

I have dined at Ammatoli multiple times and every single experience has been absolutely amazing. The food quality and freshness are consistently top-tier. From the moment you sit down you can tell this is a place that truly cares about its ingredients, its cuisine, and its guests. Special shout-out to our waiter Frances (or Francis) -- during my most recent visit he made us feel welcomed, is attentive (without being intrusive), offers excellent recommendations, and brings the warmth and personal touch that elevate the meal. One thing I absolutely must mention: their house-made pita bread. This bread is a must every time I go. Warm, pillowy, freshly baked, perfect to tear and dip into the mezze or eat on its own. I love that Ammatoli delivers vibrant Levantine-inspired Mediterranean dishes that are elevated rather than basic. The fresh produce, the flavor profiles, the ambiance -- all combine to make it my favorite Mediterranean restaurant. Wow Yes, that's how I am starting this review. From the ambiance to food and services - it was mind blowing! As soon as you enter, the high ceiling and the decor takes you to other world. Our server explained the menu and the specials of the night. Food came out pretty quick than expected. Both salads - Tabbouleh and Avocado Delight was absolutely delicious, flavorful and right amount of seasoning. Mutabbal, spicy hummus, and their warm pita bread were to die for. Came with 3 pieces in a basket hot and straight out of the oven. They were so good! For main course we tried their lamb leg special and family style kebab plate. All the meat was absolutely delicious. It was cooked to its perfection. Quality of the meat was excellent. For dessert we tired Osmalieh Ice Cream and their special of the night (as described in picture). Both were amazing but the Osmalieh Ice Cream is something going to bring me back just to eat dessert! Overall, we had amazing time, good was top notch and this restaurant has it executed beautifully. Highly recommend this place. read more

Ordered the Spicy Garlic Lemon Chicken along with the Avocado Delight, no cucumbers. The chicken was packed with flavor, tender, the spicy sauce and the garlic sauce came on the side. Instead of on the chicken which is a great touch. The spice level was just right, enough heat without overpowering the dish. The Avocado Delight was simple but fresh, and even without the cucumbers it held its balance with the herbs and olive oil. Service was attentive and the space had a warm, lively atmosphere. The menu leans authentic but still feels accessible, and the quality of ingredients stands out. Highly highly recommend. read more
I had a lovely dining experience for dinner! The first time I visited this restaurant I sat on the outdoor patio so I was glad I could experience dining inside. It is absolutely beautiful inside, very ambient lighting with an upscale modern design, perfect for a date night or nice evening out with family or friends. Our waitress Mary was amazing. She was kind and very knowledgeable about the menu, we took all her recommendations and loved them! She recommended the Mezza trio so we could try a few options together. After her rave review of the falafel and mutabbal we went with those two and got a spicy hummus as well. It comes with pita bread on the side. Since I'm gluten free I asked for carrot and cucumber to enjoy the dips and it was perfect! The mutabbal was my favorite. It was a perfect blend of eggplant. It had a touch of lemon and the pomegranate seed garnish was an excellent addition to give it a light and fresh taste. For my entree I ordered the spicy lemon garlic chicken. It was so tender and delicious and the sauce was to die for, it gave it the perfect zing. I like that they put it on the side so you can add to taste. My boyfriend got the lamb chops and ate every last bite so needless to say, he loved it. The wine we ordered came at Mary's recommendation based on our dinner order. I appreciate how she let us taste the wine before ordering. I got the Blancs de Blancs wine which was a blend of Chardonay and Sauvignon Blanc. She hit the mark perfectly because the wine was great! An absolute delight to eat and enjoy with a friend. You'll want to order various plates to share and truly appreciate what they are doing here It can be crowded for dinner but you will be seated shortly as they have plenty of tables. I recommend reserving ahead if possible. The ambiance is classy but you can also pop in for impromptu dinners. We always come to Ammatoli on our wedding anniversary and the food is consistently quality. Dinner menu is all a la carte, so the entrees like kebabs are protein only without the rice or side choices. It comes with sauces, you order breads on the side. I was recommended to try this place out by my colleague because it was Palestinian owned and everything was so delicious! Their recommendation was so good that I booked a reservation within a day. I definitely was not disappointed. From the ambiance to the service to the food, everything was amazing. My partner and I got to try a bit their selections and we were impressed with every bite! We shared each dish between the two of us and was able to finish a good portion of each serving. Each bite of every dish was delicious, nice balance of flavors. The sauces that came with the chicken and shwarma really complement their respective dishes. We did get quite full so we were able to grab some food to go. The dessert was amazing!!! I forget what it was called but I'm sure it was bread pudding with baklava toppings. Our waitress was super sweet and provided great recommendations! Definitely would come back!! read more

Came here for Mother's Day with our party and he did an amazing job explaining the menu and recommending items and seeing that we were all ok. We went here for lunch and were greeted with so many delicious smells when we walked in. Every server was gorgeous. My table joked that it must be a requirement to be above average looking to work there. The food was amazing. So many flavors. I ordered the healthy bowl and our server helped me choose the best combo. Would definitely go back to try more! read more

Is there a happy hour?
It's a fantastic happy hour from 3-5 M-F dine in only. Their wines can be pricey so happy hour is a good option
Is the meat 🍖 zabiha halal?
yes, it is zabiha and muslim-owned. at the bottom of their website they have a halal logo as well.
Can you order anything off the menu during weekend lunch or are you limited only to the brunch menu?
Only brunch menu
Do they have kids menu options for brunch?
I don't think so. I don't remember seeing anything specific for a kid's menu, but I think the flatbread choices would be ideal for kids.
How's the parking situation?
You can park in the Parking Structure for free for at least 2 hours (sometimes longer). They are located only 1 block from Ammatoli before you get to Pine.
Does your restaurant offer halal dishes?

Do you need to have a reservation?
Walk-ins are most welcomed! However, it will be extremely difficult to accommodate parties of 7 or more due to limited space and other reservations which also need to be honored.
Are dogs allowed on the patio?
Yes, tables are tight outside but my small dog was comfortable.
Is there service for dining in the bar?
Yes, you can order any of the food items from the bar that you would be able to get from a table.
Is there a number we can call to speak to someone? I have tried calling several times and it only directs you to the website or an email address?
