07.05.2026 My last review was a long time ago. I stated and vowed that I would never come back due to the homeless problem that this restaurant encounters in its surrounding perimeter. This restaurant ramped up security for this very reason, crowd control, and professionalism. Late June and early July of this year (2026), I have been here 3 times! Surprisingly the three times I have been here was great! The experience I had watching the FIFA world cup soccer matches was awesome and memorable. Great vibe and great energy! I was rooting for Team Mexico and Team USA. "From my previous post, I had it all wrong." You feel the nice ambiance of the ocean breeze hitting your face while you dine and drink. The ambiance was tranquil especially where I was seated, outside patio by the inside bar. They had a Large LCD Screen for the watch party and Smaller LCD displays upstairs. The only thing I disliked and disagreed with is the cycling of patrons after the game. For example, if you watched a game at 11am and it finished at 1pm you as a paying patron must exit the restaurant get back in line again just to stay for the next game. I have never heard of this type of restaurant logistic ever! In basic terms, they practically kick you out and make you get back in line regardless of the window you came in. I guess to accommodate everyone that wants to watch the FIFA Soccer games, this must be done. I just never seen it done before! I figure Once I am in I am in. Overall had a great experience. Great ambiance with clean restrooms. Big shout out and Big Kudos to the Manager wearing the Gimenez Mexican Jersey and Harisson the security guard. They were nice, friendly, and treated my wife and I with courtesy and respect. Also, excellent job to Kamille our waitress. She took good care of us by always being attentive and helping. Give her a raise! If you plan to come here, I warn you... Parking is absolutely a nightmare. I guarantee you that you will start road raging looking for a spot to park in. The 3 times I came, I ubered and road my electric scooter. I will definitely be back.

Good place for a World Cup gathering. It has a nice beach harbor view and plenty of screens for watching sports. The food is good, but we had to wait a long time because it was so crowded. The Lobster Sandwich was okay, but my expectations were a bit higher for the actual lobster. I'd rate it a 7 out of 10. The Filet Mignon Sliders were good too, but the portion size was a bit too small. I'd rate those a 7 out of 10 as well. Overall, they are just a bit too busy right now because of the World Cup games. BTW, Josue is good support also.

Stopped by here while taking a stroll at the beach. Very conveniently located by the beach. You can go and grab food and drinks. Ambiance was nice with a little sea breeze. I had martinis those were pretty good totally recommend i absolutely loved the fries as i was drinking the butter and garlic on this fries was amazing well seasoned. The drinks were pretty good next time i will try the burgers

Yesi was out server and she was very attentive, polite and accommodating. The Guacamole was fresh and flavorful. I order the fish n chips from share portion of menu- easily an entree! It came with three huge pieces of fish. The batter was really tasty and I enjoyed the accompanying aioli but the fish itself could have used a little seasoning. Hubby had the Cuban sandwich and no complaints. This was very good. Tasty margarita with tajin season on the rim, a nice touch. Why the plastic cups tho? We came during a World Cup match so most of their draft beers were tapped. Cans and bottles were available. We had a great booth seat with a beach view and they had a large screen playing the match.

Lots of seating and beach views which is nice! Service was slow on the night we came in. We came in on a Tuesday night and it was not busy, but it took about 45 minutes for our food to be brought out. We got the new filet mignon sliders which were very tasty and good flavor, would recommend these! I swapped out the fries for mashed potatoes, but the mashed potatoes were a bit bland for me. Buttery but otherwise did not taste seasoned. The skirt steak sandwich had a nice charred taste and was also tasty and popular, but a bit dry. Wish it came with some chimichurri on the side! Fries were fine, unfortunately cold and not fresh. Salad on the side was served soggy. My fiancé enjoyed his mezcal margarita! The two sandwiches and drinks were a hit, the sides could use some work.

I've been back to Gaucho Beach a couple times since my first review and although I'm updating my review to 4 stars for the food, there is still room for improvement. My friends and I do enjoy the vibe here, being right on the beach, outdoor, dog friendly and with old school jams playing. While there's usually a short wait, it's nice that Gaucho Cafe is next door so people can grab a seat, drink and/or snack while waiting. Didn't seem like the lobster roll recipe changed much since my last visit so I opted to try the new Soft Shell Crab Sandwich. The brioche bun was soft, the creamy coleslaw consisted of purple cabbage and added a nice texture with the fried soft shell crab. The fries were done just right too. I would actually get this again since there aren't many places that serve it. Hubby got the Chilaquiles with chicken and we were impressed with the quantity and quality! There was a good amount of grilled chicken breast, eggs and the bowl was loaded with chips that remained crispy in the flavorful red sauce throughout the meal! My friends tried the calamari, which was good and the lobster omelette. My friend liked the omelette but the lobster meat was pretty minced, making it a little difficult to tell if it was really lobster in there. The service was a little hit or miss. We had to track down our server a few times. My hubby was still waiting for his beer when our food came out. Oh, they also don't have hot sauce?! They only have house made chimichurri, which isn't bad but it's not that spicy and doesn't give the heat that any hot sauce does. I'm sure I'm not the only person that asks for Cholula or Tapatío. Nonetheless, the food came out in decent time, we enjoyed our dishes and ambience here overall.

Went to Gaucho Beach for their advertised oldies & funk brunch, and honestly the best thing they have going is the beachfront location and people watching. We were expecting a fun mix of oldies and funk music, but after maybe five oldies songs it basically turned into a Michael Jackson playlist for the rest of brunch. Food-wise: Steak & eggs: steak was good, but the eggs were rubbery and the potatoes lacked flavor. Chilaquiles: tried both the green and red salsa. The green was good, but the red tasted more like regular tomato sauce. Chicken & waffles: was surprised that it was chicken strips but was even more surprised that they tasted good, but the waffles were very dense, although they did have a nice sweetness to them. The drinks were good and the staff was great, which definitely helped the experience. Overall, more of a spot for the view and vibes than the food.

Came with hubby and grandkids. Food plates too big for young teens but they were too old for kids plates. Service was friendly but a bit thin. We had almost finished our plates when the obligatory' how's your food' question came up. Enjoyed the music and decor. Gaucho salad worth a mention for texture and taste but it was heavy on the raisins.

My gf and I came in for a drink after a walk on the beach. We didn't expect much on a Tuesday afternoon. We tried the signature strawberry basil marg and the Bloody Mary and they were both banging! Also, shout out to Bang, our bartender. We are coming back just for his drinks. He was super nice and my gf loved his playlist.

    Jemila P.

Bang was awesome, attentive and checked in several times to make sure our order was on point. The restaurant got busy as the Ghana vs. England match went on. I fully appreciated the drink presentation and our food was pretty good - we had a minor issue with the fries which was quickly resolved without reservation. I'll definitely be back.

We had an amazing experience at Gaucho Beach! The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was beautiful, and the service made the whole experience even better. Josue was our waiter, and he was outstanding. He was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever being overbearing. His recommendations were excellent, and he made us feel genuinely welcomed from start to finish. If you're visiting Gaucho Beach, definitely ask for Josue--you won't be disappointed. We'll definitely be coming back!

Being from Long Beach but moving away and seeing all the changes that has taken place throughout the city is quite amazing. Long Beach was not what it's like today. Now it's a place where there's so many things are happening and restaurants and shops are scattered everywhere. Cluster of area are trendy, blocks are full of amazing restaurants, massive new apartments complex replacing empty lots all through downtown. And of course this place. I remember when it was just an empty spot where it's just the beach, the park and parking lot. Now it's a pretty cool beachfront restaurant and bar right on the sand and bike path. It's been so long since I left that I'm not quite sure how long this place has been here. I've seen it often when visiting walking the path or meeting friends for dinner down the street. Plus seeing post about this place and hearing from friends, it was finally something that needed to be done. Friday afternoon, just as happy hour was happening we popped in for drinks. Nothing major just something to have while checking it out. Checked in with the hostess which we mentioned that we wanted drinks and not brunch. She mentioned that the bar area was full but followed her anyways which they did have seat available. There were plenty of open tables but not sure if we were able to have one if we were just having drinks. She never offered it to us. Anyways, bar seating was fine. It wraps around. Menu for happy hour was decent, a good amount of drinks as well as food items. We had to get someone's attention so we could order. Normally you would get acknowledged when seated at the bar but it didn't seemed like they even noticed us. Finally someone, placed our order for some drinks and then some food. Drinks, beer on tap and one of the red sangria on happy hour. Beer, you can't go wrong with it. Sangria's, it was nice and refreshing. Had a few fruit chunks mixed in. Food, we shared an order of the mussels. They brought out the meal but no extra plates for the shells. Also, no utensils which we had to ask someone sitting across from us to pass some down that was sitting there. And shells were placed onto a napkin. Anyways, the mussels were quite nice. They were pretty small in sizes but the broth was very flavorful. The restaurant itself is quite beautiful. Downstairs has the bar with some nice table seating looking out to the bike path and beach. There's also an upstairs which we didn't get to check out. Overall, the place is quite beautiful. Service was a little slow until we got someone's attention. Drinks were good and the mussels were tasty. There's a small parking lot out back but just to the side , a couple minutes walk is a bigger lot.

Is their outside patio pet friendly? We visit Rosie's dog beach and would love to stop for a bite once our pup is tuckered out from running on the beach!

Yes they are very dog friendly. All dogs and cats are welcome in the outside seating areas.

Since you don' ttake reservations would a party of 13 be able to be seated roof top on a Thursday night about 6:30 pm.?

Not really, it would be a nightmare and they don't really have a way to group enough tables together. Their ordering system is no good. Food comes out at random. Some of your party will be finishing their entrees, while other people will just start… Read more

Originally, we were going to try to hit up Zuzu's petal, but the line was ridiculously long and the parking was a nightmare, so I decided to take her to my 2nd choice, which was Kin Long. I thought it would be a run-of-the-mill local, Thai place with food that is more homestyle and tastes slightly above average to hit the Thai food fix. Boy, was I wrong! First and foremost, they have their own parking lot, so YAY! It's starting to sound like my standards are low, but they aren't. OMG- their restroom is clean! JK. From the outside, it looked nice enough, but I was impressed when we entered. It had a comfy, modern, clean, and beachy elegance to it (the lights and that chandelier) without it being stuffy or looking disjointed in terms of interior decor. Servers were very polite and accommodating. I let my friend order since she was the guest. She ordered the garlic shrimp noodles and scampi shrimp to share, and the Thai tea drink with the ice cream bar. I ordered 3 cocktails (Jalapeno + tamarind, Lychee, and Thai tea martini) and they were all good (not overly sweet and weak sauce, but balanced, tasty, and had the right amount of buzz). We had a light lunch since we had AYCE hot pot later that evening (Mikiya - yes I'm a good host). The garlic noodles exceeded my expectations - shrimp were huge, seasoned well, and just cooked through, the noodles were broad, float, tender, and had a slight chewiness to it. The scampi shrimp were huge, tasty, succulent, and cooked perfectly (not surprised since the shrimp with the garlic noodles were so good). NOTHING WAS OVERCOOKED OR MADE ME GO.... "MEH...." and I've been to many Thai restaurants even the highly stylized kitschy ones like Farmhouse Thai in SF. The waiters were very attentive. They made their rounds to make sure waters were filled and all guests were taken care of. It helps they were also handsome too! LOL. I generally find many places nice in the competitive LA, but not nice enough for me to travel from the SGV. However, I will go out of my way to visit KL again to try the rest of their menu (drunken noodles, pork jerky, crab fried rice, papaya salad, etc.) because they left a good impression with me. Prices are reasonable and the quality of food, cocktails, clean restrooms, ambiance was coastal modern, has its own designated parking lot, and service was lovely.

I came across this place on TikTok because of their famous Thai tea popsicle, so naturally I had high hopes. First off, we got incredibly lucky with parking. I can definitely see how parking could be a nightmare since the lot is tiny, so consider finding a spot part of the dining experience. When we arrived, the inside was cute and seemed clean. We were seated outside, which also looked nice at first glance, but I noticed quite a few spider webs around the windows. My boyfriend even felt webs brushing against his arm while we were sitting there, which wasn't exactly the extra ambiance we were expecting. We ordered quite a bit: spicy Pad Thai, Bang Bang Shrimp, Pad See Ew, mango sticky rice, and of course the Thai tea with the popsicle. I'll give credit where it's due. The Bang Bang Shrimp was easily the best thing we ordered and was absolutely delicious. The Thai tea popsicle also lived up to the TikTok hype, although the actual Thai tea itself was on the sweeter side. If you love sugar, you'll probably enjoy it. My biggest complaint with the food was the spicy Pad Thai. The flavor was great, but it came with what felt like a whole chicken farm and a cameo appearance from the noodles. I ordered Pad Thai, not chicken with noodle garnish. The Pad See Ew was also noticeably salty. Now you're probably wondering why I'm giving this place a low rating if most of the food was decent. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the meal. When it was time to pay, my aunt was figuring out how much everyone needed to Zelle her since the restaurant only allows a maximum of two cards for split payments. While we were trying to do the math, our waiter stood over us watching the payment screen like he was supervising a final exam. He was clearly waiting to make sure a tip was entered. My aunt politely asked him to give us a minute, and thankfully he walked away. Maybe when you see a family actively calculating a bill, that's your cue to...actually give them a minute. Keep in mind we also tipped 20% despite all this. Throughout the meal, he did stop by our table, but it rarely felt like he was checking in to make sure everything was okay. If anything I felt rushed. He also gave off that "customer service smile" that disappears the moment you stop looking. The cherry on top for me happened as we were leaving. We had been sitting on the outdoor patio talking for a bit after paying, which is pretty normal for my family. Before leaving, I went inside to ask where the restroom was. The guy and girl behind the bar looked at each other, laughed, and then asked if I was a paying customer. Keep in mind, I was literally holding a to-go bag with leftovers from the restaurant. I responded, "Yeah, I just finished eating," while holding up the bag that made it painfully obvious. Only then did they tell me where the restroom was. Nothing says "valued customer" quite like being interrogated about whether you actually ate there while carrying your leftovers. It's unfortunate because the food had some highlights, and the restaurant itself has a cute atmosphere. But the service made it feel like customers are viewed more as transactions than guests. Between hovering over us during payment and questioning whether I even belonged there after spending money, I left feeling more unwelcomed than satisfied. I'll happily support a restaurant that appreciates my business instead of making me feel like I have to prove I earned the right to use the restroom after paying for dinner.

She then asked my daughter if she wanted to order the missing item while she was already there to pick up her food, which would require waiting another 15 minutes. Since the delay was the result of an incorrect order, my daughter asked if she could at least receive fresh fries while waiting. Marisol told her she would have to pay extra for fresh fries. Marisol also claimed that she had repeated the order back over the phone when it was originally placed. That simply isn't true. She rushed my daughter off the phone, saying she'd see her in 15 minutes, without reviewing the order. We've continued to support A&J's because the food is consistently excellent, but experiences like this make it harder to keep coming back. Great food can only go so far when customers are made to feel dismissed instead of valued. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and provides additional customer service training so loyal customers receive the experience they deserve.

This place popped up, and it was happy hour. So we thought why not. We got lucky and found parking close (rare for that street). And walked over and immediately loved the vibe. We walked in and were greeted immediately, and then brought upstairs. The decor on the way up was awesome. The old school nature, with paintings and abstract vintage pieces.. love. It felt like we were in an old industrial building. We were surprised that it was pretty empty when we got up there. We sat at the bar, and love the decor upstairs too. There's a view of the street from up there as well that's beautiful. The bartender greeted us fairly quickly, and we each ordered a speciality cocktail on their happy hour. Both were delicious. I will say that the prices are a bit steep for me. Very glad we came during the happy hour. But really want to return to try the food and more drinks. Maybe on a special date night out!

One of the women (I missed her name but I believe her birthday is today) working there helped me find seating for my party. She was gracious enough even with there being little to no wiggle room- so shout out to her. Our servers were great, appetizers came out hot and delicious. I think we ordered 4 rounds of Brussels sprouts Drinks were tasty- highly recommend the espresso martini with a side of vanilla ice cream. Overall had a great time and appreciate the customer service!

If you want fresh seafood at a reasonable price, this is the spot. For first timers we took it easy. I went with the fried fish and scallops. My wife chose the fried fish, shrimp and scallops. The Fry and the seasoning were really good. Everything was nice, fresh, and hot. We washed it all down with ice cold bottled Snapple Lemonade. They don't have well drinks. Besides fried product, they also have a grilled option. They offer outside seating, picnic style. It's not a fancy seafood spot. It's a grab your food, find a table, enjoy your seafood and beer, while hanging out solo or with a group of friends kind of spot. We'll most definitely be returning

Went on Sunday for a quick brunch. Ordered grilled halibut plate, wife ordered fish and scallops, topped it off with a clam chowder and two sodas. Total came out to be around 65$. Fish was just grilled with a ton of oil on the same griddle as everything else, seasoning consists of old bay and that is it. Bland, old bay seasoning. Fish and chip was bland, no flavor. Clam chowder had minimal clams and mainly thick soup base. So unless you think those YouTubers are coming there to say nice things, edit the video, and then post it so they can make content money. Don't waste your time and money.

Visually, the burger was impressive and looked exactly like something you'd want to dig into. However, the salt level was overwhelming to the point where I genuinely could not finish it. What made matters worse was that our server was not attentive with refilling our waters, and when you're working through an extremely salty dish, hydration isn't optional. I left the meal feeling dehydrated and honestly a little frustrated. The bright spot of the visit was the Brussels sprouts, which were genuinely well done and showed some real kitchen care. If I were to return, I'd probably stick to the vegetable sides. For a restaurant with a 4 PM lull and minimal table traffic, there's no excuse for that level of inattentiveness. A simple water refill and a quick check in would have saved the experience. As it stands, the combination of an over salted entrée and absent service made for a tough sell on the value. If you're in the area craving a burger, you might want to save your money and head down the street to Louis Burger instead. Ellie's may shine in other areas; I've heard good things about the pasta, but this particular visit missed the mark.
