Fantastic food! I was born in Argentina and I will say this is closest to authentic Argentinian in its area. Compliments to the chef on the chimichurri!! It's perfect! Cant wait to come back with my dog and enjoy the gorgeous view from the patio.

07.05.2026 My last review was a long time ago. I stated and vowed that I would never come back due to the homeless problem that this restaurant encounters in its surrounding perimeter. This restaurant ramped up security for this very reason, crowd control, and professionalism. Late June and early July of this year (2026), I have been here 3 times! Surprisingly the three times I have been here was great! The experience I had watching the FIFA world cup soccer matches was awesome and memorable. Great vibe and great energy! I was rooting for Team Mexico and Team USA. "From my previous post, I had it all wrong." You feel the nice ambiance of the ocean breeze hitting your face while you dine and drink. The ambiance was tranquil especially where I was seated, outside patio by the inside bar. They had a Large LCD Screen for the watch party and Smaller LCD displays upstairs. The only thing I disliked and disagreed with is the cycling of patrons after the game. For example, if you watched a game at 11am and it finished at 1pm you as a paying patron must exit the restaurant get back in line again just to stay for the next game. I have never heard of this type of restaurant logistic ever! In basic terms, they practically kick you out and make you get back in line regardless of the window you came in. I guess to accommodate everyone that wants to watch the FIFA Soccer games, this must be done. I just never seen it done before! I figure Once I am in I am in. Overall had a great experience. Great ambiance with clean restrooms. Big shout out and Big Kudos to the Manager wearing the Gimenez Mexican Jersey and Harisson the security guard. They were nice, friendly, and treated my wife and I with courtesy and respect. Also, excellent job to Kamille our waitress. She took good care of us by always being attentive and helping. Give her a raise! If you plan to come here, I warn you... Parking is absolutely a nightmare. I guarantee you that you will start road raging looking for a spot to park in. The 3 times I came, I ubered and road my electric scooter. I will definitely be back.

Good place for a World Cup gathering. It has a nice beach harbor view and plenty of screens for watching sports. The food is good, but we had to wait a long time because it was so crowded. The Lobster Sandwich was okay, but my expectations were a bit higher for the actual lobster. I'd rate it a 7 out of 10. The Filet Mignon Sliders were good too, but the portion size was a bit too small. I'd rate those a 7 out of 10 as well. Overall, they are just a bit too busy right now because of the World Cup games. BTW, Josue is good support also.

Yesi was out server and she was very attentive, polite and accommodating. The Guacamole was fresh and flavorful. I order the fish n chips from share portion of menu- easily an entree! It came with three huge pieces of fish. The batter was really tasty and I enjoyed the accompanying aioli but the fish itself could have used a little seasoning. Hubby had the Cuban sandwich and no complaints. This was very good. Tasty margarita with tajin season on the rim, a nice touch. Why the plastic cups tho? We came during a World Cup match so most of their draft beers were tapped. Cans and bottles were available. We had a great booth seat with a beach view and they had a large screen playing the match.

Lots of seating and beach views which is nice! Service was slow on the night we came in. We came in on a Tuesday night and it was not busy, but it took about 45 minutes for our food to be brought out. We got the new filet mignon sliders which were very tasty and good flavor, would recommend these! I swapped out the fries for mashed potatoes, but the mashed potatoes were a bit bland for me. Buttery but otherwise did not taste seasoned. The skirt steak sandwich had a nice charred taste and was also tasty and popular, but a bit dry. Wish it came with some chimichurri on the side! Fries were fine, unfortunately cold and not fresh. Salad on the side was served soggy. My fiancé enjoyed his mezcal margarita! The two sandwiches and drinks were a hit, the sides could use some work.

I've been back to Gaucho Beach a couple times since my first review and although I'm updating my review to 4 stars for the food, there is still room for improvement. My friends and I do enjoy the vibe here, being right on the beach, outdoor, dog friendly and with old school jams playing. While there's usually a short wait, it's nice that Gaucho Cafe is next door so people can grab a seat, drink and/or snack while waiting. Didn't seem like the lobster roll recipe changed much since my last visit so I opted to try the new Soft Shell Crab Sandwich. The brioche bun was soft, the creamy coleslaw consisted of purple cabbage and added a nice texture with the fried soft shell crab. The fries were done just right too. I would actually get this again since there aren't many places that serve it. Hubby got the Chilaquiles with chicken and we were impressed with the quantity and quality! There was a good amount of grilled chicken breast, eggs and the bowl was loaded with chips that remained crispy in the flavorful red sauce throughout the meal! My friends tried the calamari, which was good and the lobster omelette. My friend liked the omelette but the lobster meat was pretty minced, making it a little difficult to tell if it was really lobster in there. The service was a little hit or miss. We had to track down our server a few times. My hubby was still waiting for his beer when our food came out. Oh, they also don't have hot sauce?! They only have house made chimichurri, which isn't bad but it's not that spicy and doesn't give the heat that any hot sauce does. I'm sure I'm not the only person that asks for Cholula or Tapatío. Nonetheless, the food came out in decent time, we enjoyed our dishes and ambience here overall.

This place was so nice and the ambiance was amazing with a great view of the ocean. The drinks were good and the food was ok.. I had the chilaquiles with asada which I loved but everyone else wasn't feeling their food. The service was quick, we walked up and sat down immediately. I would definitely go back and try another dish . Great choice of music is always a hit

Went to Gaucho Beach for their advertised oldies & funk brunch, and honestly the best thing they have going is the beachfront location and people watching. We were expecting a fun mix of oldies and funk music, but after maybe five oldies songs it basically turned into a Michael Jackson playlist for the rest of brunch. Food-wise: Steak & eggs: steak was good, but the eggs were rubbery and the potatoes lacked flavor. Chilaquiles: tried both the green and red salsa. The green was good, but the red tasted more like regular tomato sauce. Chicken & waffles: was surprised that it was chicken strips but was even more surprised that they tasted good, but the waffles were very dense, although they did have a nice sweetness to them. The drinks were good and the staff was great, which definitely helped the experience. Overall, more of a spot for the view and vibes than the food.

Came with hubby and grandkids. Food plates too big for young teens but they were too old for kids plates. Service was friendly but a bit thin. We had almost finished our plates when the obligatory' how's your food' question came up. Enjoyed the music and decor. Gaucho salad worth a mention for texture and taste but it was heavy on the raisins.

My gf and I came in for a drink after a walk on the beach. We didn't expect much on a Tuesday afternoon. We tried the signature strawberry basil marg and the Bloody Mary and they were both banging! Also, shout out to Bang, our bartender. We are coming back just for his drinks. He was super nice and my gf loved his playlist.

Stopped by here while taking a stroll at the beach. Very conveniently located by the beach. You can go and grab food and drinks. Ambiance was nice with a little sea breeze. I had martinis those were pretty good totally recommend i absolutely loved the fries as i was drinking the butter and garlic on this fries was amazing well seasoned. The drinks were pretty good next time i will try the burgers

    Jemila P.

Bang was awesome, attentive and checked in several times to make sure our order was on point. The restaurant got busy as the Ghana vs. England match went on. I fully appreciated the drink presentation and our food was pretty good - we had a minor issue with the fries which was quickly resolved without reservation. I'll definitely be back.

Gaucho Cafe is a nice spot right by the beach in Long Beach. The food was good, and the drinks were enjoyable. The service was decent, and the prices were reasonable for the location. Overall, it's a good place to grab a meal and drinks while enjoying the beach atmosphere. I'd definitely come back.

    How about parking?

There is a pay machine in the parking lot which is next to the Gaucho Beach.

Is this place toddler friendly? My little one loves to roam around

Hey Kristina! Of course! You also have a kids' space right next to Gaucho Beach :)

Hi do we have to make a reservation for 10people I called but no answer?

Angel! Send us a DM with a phone number so our team can help you with your reservation.

Is this the same as gaucho grill?

I've seen reviews that you need to tip before ordering on the app. Is that accurate?

    Yes it's correct

    Are there heat lamps?

Last time I was there they only had a few working heat lamps, and it was a nightmare trying to get one!

Fourth time here, when is the roof top open, pray tell? Only weekends, a waitress just informed me.

I bike almost nightly and it's often open up there. Maybe you go to early ? It was jammin last night lol. Dj I think

Is their outside patio pet friendly? We visit Rosie's dog beach and would love to stop for a bite once our pup is tuckered out from running on the beach!

Yes they are very dog friendly. All dogs and cats are welcome in the outside seating areas.

Since you don' ttake reservations would a party of 13 be able to be seated roof top on a Thursday night about 6:30 pm.?

Not really, it would be a nightmare and they don't really have a way to group enough tables together. Their ordering system is no good. Food comes out at random. Some of your party will be finishing their entrees, while other people will just start…

What are happy hour times and days?

    Monday - Friday 3-6

    Is it dog friendly?

Yes, they allow dogs on their patio areas.

    Will Gaucho Beach take reservations?

    No, they don't take reservations.

This was my second time here, and I've gotta say, I think this has officially become one of my all-time favorites. Downtown Long Beach has always had such a fun, foodie-filled atmosphere. Even the servers who weren't serving our table intentionally, smiled, and said hello as they passed. I even remembered one of the servers from my last visit and her sister because they both have some of the most inviting personalities ever. That says a lot about the culture of a restaurant. We also had the opportunity to meet the new GM, which was another nice touch. Great food. Great ambience. GREAT people. And Steve,,,you're the best! 10/10. We'll definitely be back. The arugula prosciutto flatbread needs to be reworked, way too much arugula, not enough prosciutto, and it's bland. Also it would be better with chicken, but why do you have to buy the whole chicken to put on it? The Duck Bolognese was great, but again the meat was hard to find, and the mushrooms were too numerous. The lack of meat in the dishes, coupled with the extra service charge (which you can have removed), doesn't exactly provide an aura of success. All that aside, this place is amazing. The upstairs host Kori was amazing. She was bubbly, kind and super helpful. Now to our waitress, there was a bit to be desired there. My wife felt like with each thing she asked for she was bothering her. ( I will omit her name out of kindness, she may have been dealing with something personal and having a bad day. ) Now to the food. The Drinks, my wife's Paloma was delicious. I had a Makers 46 neat. Very basic whiskey selections but it was good. Our appetizer, the Artichoke dip came out to us tepid after 20 minutes of waiting for it and the chips borderline stale. I had the Bo Burger, the pork belly and aioli carried it. Fries were ok. My wife had chicken milanese it was fantastic, she just had to request extra sauce. Coke Zeros were flat, we sent them back. So my wife had a Proseco and she enjoyed that. Upon putting in the reservation I stated it was my wife's birthday, Kori even asked we told her and I'm pretty sure it was relayed to the serve who said nothing and didn't inquire whether we wanted dessert or offer anything. My wife asked for a box, she put the box on the table and walked away. We had to ask a busser for a bag and a cup for her sauce. He was very sweet, he filled our waters and asked if we needed anything else. The restaurant charges a 5% fee for the team, you can decline it. We didn't. I even still gave the server a respectable tip. Sadly she could have received twice as much because I used to serve when I was much younger. My wife is a Dorector in the Hospitality industry and she loves giving extra. I understand the struggle but if she was as charismatic as Kori she could make more and really add to the restaurant. Needless to say we will not make the hour and 15 minute drive again.

It was so awkward for those first few seconds that I almost wanted to introduce mySELF and ask how I could help HER. You can't make this shit up lmao. Anyways, we started with some calamari which came out fine but there were no utensils or small plates or even a napkin to cry into, so we just stared at the calamari for a bit wondering who would be the first one to pick at it with their hands like some uncultured swine. She eventually returned and we asked for some cutlery. Overall the experience took away from the enjoyment of the food and the nice outdoor atmosphere by the water. Our particular server was inefficient and awkward. Hoping she improves her service!

How about a Wedge Salad with shrimp added? Can't forget a specialty cocktail while sitting at the fire pit!

Outdoor patio is great after sunset, with live music every night. Heaters if you get cold. Don't forget that amazing view of the waterfront
