Stopped here on my way out ... Lombardis was jammed, major long line. All I wanted was a tuna sandwich and get to the house. Turned the corner and decided to stop. If you need a giant sandwich, Ammirati's has got you covered. I hardly ever stray from the California BLT, but I'm quite certain that every sandwich on the menu weighs about four pounds. If you're a crispy bacon person, Ammirati's always does it so right. It's not cheap, but you could also eat just one of their sandwiches and be good for the whole day. They have quite a bit more variety than just deli sandwiches; the salads are also amazing and huge. The service is always quick and friendly, and you could text your order in if you're into that. read more

Great selection of quality sandwiches. Portions here are ridiculously big (the BLT is practically an entire pig - see picture) and we had to wrap half of our food to go. Almost everything is reasonably priced but some things can be pricey so pay attention. Service was friendly and fast. Place is spotless. Disclaimer: I didn't eat anything at this place. This is more a review of their offerings (or lack thereof). I don't understand all these places on the North Fork that have a hard cut-off on breakfast, particularly on weekends. I went in on a Sunday around 12:30 (after waiting almost 2 hours to vote!), hoping to try one of their reportedly great breakfast sandwiches, and was succinctly informed that they don't serve breakfast after noon. Why? The grill is still on, the guy is still cooking - just crack an egg! I asked if they could make an exception and just got an eye roll as an answer. read more

I had the Seared Sesame Ahi and it was DELICIOUS. The wasabi hit me really hard because I didn't know how strong it was going to be...it was sort of painful eating it but it was so good. HI Friends, It is amazing to me to see the dump of a deli that was in this spot many moons ago didn't get condemned, but rather was turned into a great sandwich spot. I hear they also serve breakfast, but I was here about 1 pm yesterday, and lunch was what I was looking for, and lunch is what they were serving. I had been hearing about this joint since it opened from both family and friends, so I had high expectations coming in. Ammirati's did not disappoint. The sandwich was much bigger than many of the other delis on the North Fork, and the store itself is beautiful. There is little to remind me of Brian's Deli (which was here in the '80s in this building). The counter is made of gorgeous wood, the display case is sparkling, the floor was level and clean. All of which are major upgrades to what this building had been a handful of years ago when I would have been fearful to order food in here. And the food was comparable to the setting. Clean, big, fresh flavors, the sandwich was hot, the bread had the right amount of chew to it. I am only giving them 4 stars because seating is not readily available, so I had to eat seated on the bed gate of my truck. It's not the fault of ownership, it is the size of the building, but considering other properties that were available at the time they began this renovation, perhaps they should have taken a different location. But I will be back, Ammirati's is definitely a nice compliment to Wendy's Deli over on the back road. Years ago, Mattituck was swarming with great deli's, and I am happy to see that we have two tremendous choices once again. read more

I often find myself here for lunch on the rare occasion that I both do not pack my lunch from home and actually leave my office for an hour! I've had the steak salad and the ahi tuna wrap - both are amazing! It's usually $15-$20 if you want a main, side, and drink. The food is fresh and the staff are friendly! read more

The owners know what they're doing here. The food is great. If something isn't right, they'll make it right! You don't have to order off the menu, you can make up whatever you want. I am a local in the area so I have been here a couple times. However the last couple times I have not had a very good experience. I order a burger and I got charged for extra bacon. When I got home there was not a single slice of bacon on my burger and there were only a few fries in the dish. I was very upset. A few days later I decided to go back and I ordered an omelette. It says on the menu they are served with toast and home fries but there were none in the dish and the eggs and bacon were over cooked. Definitely taking a break from this place. read more

Haven't had a bad sandwich and I've been here more times than I want to admit. Some of my faves are the lobster BLT (not on the menu; amazing!), tuna wrap, chicken paradise and buffalo soldier. Unfortunately I'm not as adventurous as I'd like to be because I LOVE all of these. Not only is their food good, the owners care about their clients and want them to be happy so when they don't have something they'll recommend something - hence how I tried the lobster BLT! SO beyond impressed with this place. We always cater it for work and after a few times of trying it at work I decided it was time to go in and try something other than a sandwich. I ordered the wedge salad with chicken... let me tell you, it was beyond amazing! First off, it was HUGE! 3 whole wedges loaded with bacon, walnuts, cranberries and chicken ( I left out the cucumbers). $10 for the whole salad and it was so beyond satisfying. Amazing food and lovely people who own and work here. They have such amazing sandwiches. During the summer they open on the first Friday night of the month and show everyone a great time. This past Friday event had three dinner options that were awesome, I tried them all. One was a crab cake sandwich, another was a lobster salad (big fresh lobster chunks) and finally a steak sandwich. Ammirati's of Love Lane catered by wedding. My husband and I got married this past June. We had a backyard big tented wedding with 140 guests. We hired Ammirati's to handle all of the food and they did an AMAZING job!!! They provided four very experienced server's who were so professional. The cocktail hour food was passed on trays so the guests could mingle get drinks and grab a bite as hors devours came by, and the food was beautifully displayed. We had at least five different types of hors devours; everything from little crab-cakes to prosciutto wrapped asparagus. Just as good if not better than an expensive catering hall. We did a buffet for dinner so that our guests could enjoy the party and go get something to eat when they wanted to. The buffet was AWESOME! I cannot even begin to tell you how amazing the food was. We had marinated sliced flank steak, chicken francese, shrimp scampi over rice, penne alla vodka, steamed vegetables, eggplant parmigiana, greek salad, ceaser salad, tomato basil mozzarella salad, dinner rolls of course..... we had so so so many compliments on the food. I had guests from all over Long Island, NYC, and other parts of the country and I believe almost every single person asked me who catered the food. People were going back for seconds and thirds!!! All I can say is that having Ammirati's cater my wedding brought it to the next level and it really felt special and luxurious. The staff Ammirati's provided was excellent, as the bride they made sure I had a plate of hors devours since my husband and I didn't mingle during cocktail hour. At the end of the night they packed up any left over food and stocked it in the fridge so we were able to munch for days! They also set up coffee and tea even though that wasn't part of their job, and at the end of the night they kept working to clean even though I had hired a bus-boy to do that. It was an amazing day for many reasons, but I will say that Ammirati's made it one of the best weddings my guests have ever been to and still talk about today. Wow!!!! I wish all businesses provided this kind of customer service. My wife and I stopped in on a weekend getaway. We misread the menu and ordered a sandwich my wife couldn't eat. Even though it was my fault I ordered the wrong sandwich and offered to pay the owner, he replaced the sandwich without accepting payment! Always blown away when people go above and beyond! This restaurant is terrific! My colleague and I stopped in to get some breakfast. Not only was the food phenomenal, but it was cooked very quickly so we did not have to wait long for our meal. The decor is very welcoming and warm. You automatically feel at home. Excellent job with this restaurant and congrats on opening up recently. On the positive side, it's a nice looking deli, the food is good and the selections are good and they are large portions. I will say it is very expensive (two spring salads with chicken on the top and two ice teas, almost 30 bucks, what you would pay for in a restaurant not a take out deli. They are not very friendly and it's not clear where the line is so all four or five times I have been in they have taken others before me, seemingly people they knew, so be prepared to be aggressive to order. Have also gotten sandwiches ......well sized as are the salads. Also pet peeve of mine, not once in the times I have been there have they said thank you. Not a big deal and not a deal breaker for me since I go back, but it sure would be nice, especially in a small town, if they could mumble a 'thank you for your business and have a nice day'. My mother says they make her feel uncomfortable there so word of advice to the owners just try to step up the niceness of your employees. read more
