My pal ATM was practically born in this pizzeria and has been eating here for thirty years. Not a slice goes by when he doesn't mention Amore pizza. And so we finally went together. He's definitely not wrong, I can see where gets his #talent from. The pizza was great and smooth. The pie was cheesy and the sauce was just right and the way the cheese shares space with the sauce is something of an achievement - you can tell it's unique just by looking at it. First time going here and it will definitely not be my last! Amazing baked ziti and home made lasagna. The best part tho? The garlic bread with melted mozzarella to die for! Amore, you need to clean up your act! Although you have a better bottom crust than most pizzerias, your costumer service and cleanliness needs work. This place is freakin crusty and def not in a good way. Every surface of this pizza screams "clean me, wash me" Thank goodness the pizza is cooked at such a high temp or you might risk getting sick. Let me start by saying they have good Pizza. I went there tonight with family and got at 8:45 pm to be told that the back was closed because they closed at 10pm. There is a fat short old guy that has high blood pressure who immediately went the the back and started lifting the chairs on to the tables. The manager could care less, we went ahead and ordered 2 pies and when we were leaving the high blood pressure guy says out loud once we left but could hear, "hey did they pay" ...what a LOSER. Been going to Amores pizza for years. Used to be one of the best spots in the area, but on each occasion in the last few months that either myself or anyone else i know have gone it has been absolute garbage. Not sure what has happened to their quality control, the same staff is working there from when it was great. The slices have been reduced to a soggy, greasy, stale tasting mess. There are no words to adequately describe this delicious pizza!! Crust is thin but not limp, the sauce has a very uniquely delicious taste, and the cheese is plentiful. You just have to taste it to believe the awesomeness!!! It's a slice of heaven! They're always so busy that the pizza is never sitting drying out....As soon as the pizza comes out of the oven, there are people waiting for their slices. In all the years I've been going to Amore, I don't recall ever having a reheated slice...ALWAYS FRESH OUT OF THE OVEN! One word of advice.... I recommend that you have the pizza right there. I'm not a fan of delivered pizza to begin with because once it's in a cardboard box, it entirely changes the taste. I'm more of a Whitestone girl so I don't go to this area very much. We happened to be in the area on our way to Citi Field and we decided to stop in for a last minute meal. There were four in the party, and 3 got pizza (including me) and one got a meatball hero. For the most part, all the pizza was on the cool side and the cheese had congealed to the point of being rubbery. In general it tasted old. I had to throw mine away, it was making me nauseous and the other girls had upset stomachs too. The gentleman who got the hero said it was fine, for what it's worth. I love pizza and there is not a place in New York i think i have not eaten. If im in Queens on the North side near LGA this is my goto spot. Their prices are a bit itchy considering their indoor structure. I think if they kept their price of a slice compared to New Park Pizza in howard beach it would be perfect because New Park Pizza is like my best best overall favourite place to eat, its unfortunate im not usually out there and the traffic on the belt pkw going there. Not to be harsh but flushing and Jackson Heights are not known for their pizza. I've tried in both areas and have yet to be impressed and unfortunately, amore is no exception. I had it tonight based on the reviews and from the pictures, I was super excited that finally I don't have to travel to howard beach or Brooklyn for some good pizza by the slice. For the locals in the area I can see how it's rated best pizza in new york and that's putting it mildly. The pizza is hot but in my honest opinion, it's average.. To me its more about the sauce and cheese and this lacking at least in taste. Didn't leave me for wanting more, the chicken parm on the other hand was better than others in my neighborhood in Jackson Heights. The service was indeed fast. Well I'm definitely not from the east coast or even from New York, I knew there was the certain way of ordering pizza and a specific way how they make it. When I went in there and saw all the people I thought to myself this has to be fairly good pizza for it to be so busy. The staff there was not rude but they were also not as welcome mean as they could be. Looking at how they run operations there you would think that they were all on some sort of drug and drink too much coffee. They looked like they would be tripping all over each other but they never did, they ran like a well oiled machine. Watching them create the pizzas I thought that the process was quite simple and I didn't have very high hopes considering I ordered a thin crust pizza. I could not have been more wrong. When I first bit into the pizza it didn't seem all that grand, but once I let the flavors simmer in my mouth it tasted fantastic. I ordered a whole pizza pie (18 inch) and it took me 2 whole days with the assistance of another person just to finish it off. I grossly underestimated the New York style pizzas here, and I will never do so again. I would not rank them above some of the other pizza chains I have eaten at in California but I would have to say that they are an entirely different animal but still ultimately very good. The place literally looks like it was just a hole in the wall place , very small very crowded but quite busy. I will definitely claim that I am a big fan of New York style pizza, now I have a good basis for comparison when I get home and some pizza parlor claims to have an excellent New York style pizza. read more

So my friend told me amore was one of the better pizzerias in Queens so we went one day. I ordered 2 slices and he got 1. It was pretty crazy cuz it was my first time seeing a pizzeria with a waitress, well a small pizzeria. I'm thinking they must get pretty busy. Time to eat!
