    Cochinita pi ok

We came here when it just opened and had cafe de olla and tres leches cake and that was amazing! Dense moist cake not too sweet and the cafe de olla was perfect. Today we came for lunch and was still able to order breakfast. This time we sat outside in the back in their little patio area and it was very cute and private. I had the breakfast machaca and the eggs to meat ratio was just right. The meat was tender and flavorful and the beans were delicious. My friend wanted mole chilaquiles and said the flavors were so authentic and tasted homemade. Our other friend had the cochinita pibil. Our waitress was kind enough to let us know that they cook it fresh daily and it needed another 15min it's and if we were ok to wait. It was well worth the wait. Our friend said it was super flavorful and the meat was so tender it was perfect for her. My husband liked his fajitas but was thrown off with the cheese on top. But overall the food were very delicious and authentic. The service was excellent our waitress checked on us all the time. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food you are getting.

This is our 2nd time here and the food was just as delicious as the first time. Although, the restaurant is small, it is bright and clean inside. We had to wait about 10 mins to be seated and were helped within a few minutes. The waitresses are always friendly. The shrimp tacos is my favorite! The queca taco is unique and so tasty. The machacha has lots of flavor and is a good size. Overall would recommend trying them out.

I came here since I saw that they had mole poblano ($20). Place is in the Claremont Village and the tables were filled quickly. Street parking only. I also got a Baja fish taco ($5) to try which came with sliced cabbage, pico de gallo, and sour cream. The fish batter was not too crispy and the portion size was good. The mole poblano came with a side of beans and rice. The chicken was tender and came off the bone easily. The mole had a good amount of heat, more smokier than other places I've tried. The waitress was nice.

    Asada plate and delicious salsas.

The most delicious and authentic Mexican food I've had in a long time. Everything I order has been scrumptious. Great location, super cute decor, great service, and one of my favorite spots in Claremont.

Amores in Claremont fits perfectly into the charm of the village, where everything feels a little more local and thoughtfully curated. I always enjoy spending time in that area, and this spot blends right in with that small town, independent feel. The food was delicious, and the mole in particular stood out with both its flavor and presentation. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but it's spotless and stylish, with crisp white walls and deep blue accents that make the space feel clean and elevated. Service was friendly and efficient without feeling rushed, which made the whole meal feel relaxed. It ended up being a really nice dining experience and a place I would gladly return to when I'm in Claremont.

We stopped by for dinner last night and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. We got both the mole poblano and ceviche, by the end of the meal we were practically licking our plates clean. Also their carnitas was amazing! The taco came out loaded with meat and had tons of crispy pork pieces adding to both the flavor and texture. We will definitely be back soon to try the rest of the menu. Don't forget to try the Tres Leches before leaving!

Our family and in the center the birthday girl

Let me start that we made a reservation for ten to celebrate my 74th Birthday I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the patio setup for our group it was intimate, shady and there was an awesome mural on the wall The service was impeccable and the best service I have experienced in a while. Now the food: delicious, authentic and a great experience for the whole family I'm from Mexico and I can be very critical, nothing we ate was a disappointment In fact, we had a nostalgic experience of food prepared in the way we were accustomed to in the Yucatan and Mexico City Thank you for the hospitality and making my birthday celebration special

Not me finding a spot that tastes like someone's tia is in the back cooking. The huevos rancheros were PERFECT sauce tasted homemade, super fresh, and full of flavor. Rice and beans? Exactly how they should be. The sausage breakfast burrito was also really good simple, filling, and done right. If you want real, authentic breakfast... this is it.

Stumbled across this place while on my walk at the village. Super cute little restaurant. Clean, pretty and cozy. The staff are all very friendly. I was craving something healthy and ordered their quinoa salad. It was sooo good! It had grilled chicken, avocado, red onion, garbanzo beans, cucumbers and mango with this zesty lime dressing. The menu had a lot of different items but I'll definitely come back for this particular salad!

Chicken fajitas immediately after I set them down on the passenger seat of my car. I hadn't even pulled out of the parking spot.

Oh boy. Please do yourself a favor and do not, for the love of all things holy, order the fajitas to go. First of all, they're not very good. They are very salty. The chicken is overcooked and the vegetables are undercooked. It doesn't come with sour cream or anything which would've helped balance out the heavy hand on salt. Most importantly - what you will carry out is a bowl of soup. There's so much liquid in this that as soon as I set the bag down, flat, on the front seat of my car brown liquid started to pool on the bottom. I had to hold the bag out of the window as I drove to my destination so it wouldn't get all over my car. When I got to where I was going I was stunned that when I opened the container with fajita mix of chicken and vegetables it was still full of liquid, and that what had spelled into the bag was only about a third of the liquid in the box. A total complete mess. I will certainly never order takeout from here again, but I don't know that I'd ever eat here again either. Apart from the the women on the staff, being absolutely lovely (kind, helpful), the food is pretty bad and this mess tells me that chef probably has no idea how to work in a restaurant.

Service was not as expected. Not welcoming, only one girl to help take orders, serve, bus tables. After 15 mins waiting server took order. Chicken Mole enchilada is good and taco Gobernador. Rice and beans were cold!

When we first walked in, the place looked empty, and my wife and I almost considered leaving. Just as we were about to head out, a server came over, seated us, and explained the menu. The $45 menu is extensive, featuring a wide variety of Vietnamese dishes such as escargot (ốc), pho, and bò né (Vietnamese sizzling beef steak), among many others. We ordered escargot with tamarind sauce, oysters with cheese, a lobster special, rau muống (water spinach) with garlic, glass noodles, and a ribeye steak. This isn't a typical buffet--each dish is cooked to order. It took about 15 minutes since there were only two chefs, but the wait was absolutely worth it. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and served piping hot. The lobster was a whole lobster with claws, and the ribeye was a generous cut served sizzling at the table. The portions are large, and our server kindly warned us ahead of time--we're glad we listened! The owner was friendly, and the service was attentive throughout our meal. My wife and I loved this place and will definitely be coming back. It's great to have quality Vietnamese food nearby without having to travel all the way to OC.

FANTASTIC PLACE FOR FOOD AND A PARTY!…read more I had the privilege of being invited to a party with some friends who had booked their event with Sea Queen Restaurant and I cannot deny that I was only impressed with the food, decor, staff, and the entire experience. If you are interested in booking your own event here, I recommend it. If you have no events coming up and just want some amazing food, still come here for that too! Amazing dishes are cooked and served here. It is mostly Vietnamese cuisine that you would find here, but hey... who doesn't enjoy this kind of cuisine? There is so much this restaurant has to offer. Not to mention there are weekly events; even a karaoke night. Lastly, if you enjoy sea snails, escargot, and don't want to drive out of the IE to the OC for some... just come here!

The flavor and seafood were absolutely on point. My group of five ordered the Snow Star Family Bucket with Full House sauce, and everything came out fresh, well-seasoned, and generously portioned. Portions were solid and we all left very full and very satisfied. If I had to nitpick: The mild Full House sauce was a little spicy for something labeled "mild." Still tasty, just a heads-up for anyone sensitive to heat. The fried calamari was good flavor-wise, but it was a bit light on calamari and heavy on fries. Small side note: my wife and I love having boiled eggs with our seafood boil, but unfortunately they don't offer boiled eggs here. Not a deal-breaker, just something we personally missed. Overall though, great food, great service, and a spot I'd happily come back to again. Easily our favorite Star Crab so far.

They provided us menus, pretty straightforward; choose seafood, add sides for an extra cost, choose the flavor, and the spice level. One thing not noted on the menu is that shrimp isn't peeled, but they can peel them for an extra $6. And each order comes in pound increments. No half a pound offered. Your table is also covered with paper so you can eat the seafood boil from there. They provide bibs and gloves for no charge. Ultimately, we enjoyed our meals. Everything was flavorful and, unlike some other seafood boil spots, it didn't leave us feeling like we had heartburn afterward. There's a little sink for you to clean your hands at, which is nice since you dont have to wait for the restroom to empty. The service is what was a bit off. Like we asked for 3 Cajun fry boats but only received 2. Drinks were mixed up, and the clam chowder didn't arrive until about 20 minutes after our seafood bags had already been delivered. If you want ranch for your fries, they charge 60 cents for a small container. For drink refills, they bring a pitcher, but it's the kind typically used for measuring ounces. The server also tended to reach across one end of the table to grab empty cups or pass out food. Since I was seated at the end, it felt awkward having to help pass things down, especially since there were other access points to reach people in our party. We left around 920pm. I only mention it because we were the last group there, and we all noticed the heater seemed to have been turned on. Restaurant sign says open til 10pm on Sat. but we saw them turn off their open sign when we went outside. Needless to say, service could have been better.

The style, decor, music and ambiance was warm and inviting. The service was excellent, everyone was nice, friendly and worked well as a unit. Let's get to the food... I'll start by saying yes, yes and yes. From the appetizers to the desert.. spot on! To start we had cocktails. My wife had the Bayou Berry Smash, and I went with the Pecan Hips Old Fashion. The bartender did his thing on those cocktails. For the appetizer we chose Craw Fish Pies. The crust was buttery and flaky. There was just enough filling to get some in every bite. For the main courses, she chose the Sautéed Quater Catfish. She substituted the sauteed catfish for fried. The fish is served over a satuee of shrimp, crab, creole rice and ratatouille. It was exceptional! It was a big portion, but she ate every bit of it. Literally, no notes. I ordered the Crawfish St. Charles. A whole perfectly fried catfish filet on a bed of etouffée. The plating was beautiful and creative. There was a crawfish peeking through the curled end of the filet, which was fried to perfection. It was succulent, hot, crunchy, and juicy. That d!%# crawfish etouffée had me looking for a granny to walk out of the kitchen. It was sooo good, the perfect amount of spice and herbs, balanced with the gravy and crawfish and was perfect. We also ordered a side of red beans and rice. I had to try it, and it didn't disappoint. Once again they knocked it out of the park. The spice level, the texture of the beans and that smokey sausage hit the mark. To finish ourselves off we had the Croissant Beignets. All I can say is little pillows of heaven! We will most definitely pay them another visit. Pro Tip.. make sure you order the sausage with your red beans and Rice, the order doesn't come with it.
