I'm thankful for places like Amparo's. It was my first time in Cozumel and I was blown away by the beauty of the island but also thrown off by the amount of vendors in your face as you walk through the street. Amparo's is cute and homey, and run by a lovely couple who go above and beyond to make every experience at their restaurant memorable. The breakfast menu is plentiful and they food is very good and their prices are fair versus the other places around. The Amparo skillet and enchiladas were favorites of ours - they make great smoothies and coffee as well! The owners also gave us great recommendations on what else to do on the island. Had breakfast here before we went out for a Jeep ride around Cozumel. The food was EPIC! They bring you fresh bread and homemade jams to start, the jams are flavorful to say the least! Highly recommend the lobster Benedict and the Amparo skillet. The smoothies are were very good as well and super refreshing with the hot weather. A must try if you're in the area! read more

Delicious food! We found this little gem off the beaten path. It was one of the few places open on a Sunday morning and after walking in the rain we were ready for anything. The food was great. A nice blend of American and classic Mexican. The Huevos Rancheros and the Skillets were well prepared and teeming with flavor. The veggie omelette was packed with fresh produce and you could tell it was locally sourced. You must get the coffee from their own organic coffee plants that are slow roasted in an iron skillet for 2.5 hours. We had The latte and the Americano. As if that's not enough, make sure you enjoy the fresh breads with the three different jellies/jams/sauces! This is definitely a great find in Cozumel and the price was right on the mark for breakfast. The owner came and talked to us and was very friendly and told us the story of how he opened the restaurant and decided their theme. You won't regret sharing a meal here! read more

The restaurant is small and tastefully decorated, with highly attentive and extremely courteous staff. They have a fantastic menu with plenty of fresh, healthy and hearty options. Our party had eggs benedict, huevos rancheros, various skillets, fruit pizza and vegetarian omelets, not to mention rounds of coffee, fresh squeezed juices and smoothies. The flavors were all fantastic; the food was freshly made for us. It's important to note: this quality food is not something you will find all over the strip. Their menu has been carefully developed, is extremely reasonable in pricing and is authentic. Every item has been thoroughly thought through, down to the strawberry chipotle and mango habanero compotes served with fresh breads and croissants at each table. We had breakfast with two kids and one adult during busy season. When we got there the place was not full but shortly after two big parties arrived. The place is small but clean. The huevoa ranchero was good. The pancakes were too sweet. We did have one complaint where some tables got bread right away and we were not served any of that till we left. I'd highly recommend the veggie omelette...it's the best veggie omelette I've ever had my life. It's stuffed with broccoli, zucchini, and all kinds of other goodies. They were yummy, nothing spectacular but for the price a very reasonable breakfast. The coffee is diner style, so if you're a coffee connoisseur, avoid, but the smoothies were delicious! This was probably my favorite eating spot on the island! The staff is very friendly and helpful. They didn't mind answering any and all of my questions. I loved everything I ordered- all of the egg dishes are wonderful and they even have vegan options! I had the green goddess smoothie and it was truly amazing- very fresh and tasty. The coffee was also some of the best I've had. The space itself is really clean and beautiful. I loved the colors of the textiles and atmosphere. I could see coming here with friends and family or alone for some quiet time/ work time. There is so much else to do and see around the area- rent scooters, go shopping, book and excursion, rent bicycles, see old ruins, take tons of selfies... I wanted to go back here every chance while on the island. It's a truly special place run by amazing thoughtful people. The only thing I need now is for them to open a franchise in LA! read more

Fantastic vegan and vegetarian brunch options here!!! Staff was very attentive, food was delicious and clearly all homemade. I had the mole vegan enchiladas and my mom had the vegan rancheros which were great. I adore mole and hadn't yet had good mole in the Yucatan and this one was very tasty. The rancheros were excellent. They also brought us house made bread and jellies before our meals which were super tasty, a spicy strawberry jelly, a coffee jelly which was surprisingly yummy, and marmalade. The cafe is indoors and air conditioned, and simply decorated. It's not huge on atmosphere but totally pleasant, especially if you like shade and AC!
