These guys did a great job! The only ball dropping was when they told me the would call a half hour before arrival but failed to do so. However, housekeeper was home when they came over so she let them in. $35.00 service call charged against repairs. The two technicians were there for an hour and fifteen minutes, plugged in a computer to trouble shoot, and adjusted the seal and said they were finished. All they wanted was the thirty five dollar service fee which I couldn't do, so gave them some extra money because they didn't try the "you need to replace this/that", and were honest and competent! Used them to get my family's Miele dishwasher and GE wine cooler fixed. They're one of the only companies I found that actually know how to fix Miele appliances, which made me happy since Miele would've charged me $175 just for the service call. AM PM charged me a total $60 for a service call on the 2 machines. I got the technician Jeff. He arrived in the time window I requested and was very polite, explaining what he'd need to do to fix my dishwasher. He even told me that if my wine cooler wasn't too expensive that we should just get a new one since replacing the part itself would cost a lot. We ended up getting both fixed with them and they came back in perfect working order. I got 10% off the labor too. Only two minor things: We initially told Jeff that I'll give him a call if we decided to get it fixed with him. After we decided to go with them, I gave their office a call. I think there was some interference with the line or the person who answered didn't understand me but I didn't get a follow up call from Jeff. Had to call again the next week and got it all figured out. I'm really grateful to one person there, who was really patient with my multiple phone calls and many many questions. Jeff also had to take our dishwasher and wine cooler back to their offices. He did explain the reasons why and we understood, but we were still left with two gaping holes in our kitchen for a week. But I do appreciate the speed in which he got them fixed, since we told him that we needed it back in time for a party. Our final bill was less than what was estimated. Still pricey, but considering it was for 2 machines, done in a week, the discount on labor, and that the $60 service charge went towards the repairs, I think it was worth it. Overall I liked my experience with them. And we get $10 off our next repair too, so I'll probably call them when something else breaks down in the future. read more

I was referred to AMPM Appliances by my brother when my fridge stopped cooling. He said they were great, and I totally agree! It happened to be Jason, the owner, that answered when I called. When I told him about the fridge not cooling, and asking questions like, "Do you stock compressors for my model?", he politely suggested sending out his technician to diagnose the problem for $35, as often times it's something other than the compressor. He explained the $35 service call included complete diagnostics to find the problem, and how much it would cost to fix (parts and labor). Further, that if I did the repairs, the $35 would be credited towards the bill. To me, this was a no-brainer! As long as they could come out within a day, so my food wouldn't spoil. Jason scheduled me for that afternoon, gave me a 3-hour window, and offered to call me 30 minutes before arrival so I wouldn't be waiting around all day. Nice! Sure enough, Larry the repair guy showed up that afternoon. He spent about a half-hour running a bunch of tests, and tells me he found the problem. The coils in the back had gotten so dirty that they weren't working properly, and with a thorough cleaning... I'd be good to go. OMG! I was expecting best case, I'd need a compressor for hundreds or worst case, a new refrigerator for over a thousand! My fridge works perfectly now for less than $100! These guys know what they're doing, are professional, and most important to me, are honest. My mother lives in the Woodland Hills area, and she asked me to help her find someone to fix her leaking refrigerator that she bought from Sears (I think it was a GE.) We found AM PM Appliance in a local phone book listing, and called them to find out how much they would charge to come out and take a look. We talked to the manager on the phone, who was very courteous and helpful and was able to give us an appointment for the same day. Their charge was $35, and the technician arrived on time. He was very well-spoken and was a specialist in GE brand appliances too! We were given an estimate before any work was done, and he was able to replace the filter with parts that were already on his truck! My husband found these guys on Yelp because of their great reviews and they surely lived up to it. They responded quickly and came to inspect my fridge within two hours. The issue was with the fridge computer. As this was an older fridge, manufacturers instructions were to call them and order the part. I got an approximate estimate that ended up being accurate. It took a couple of days for the part to arrive and be installed. These guys were very caring, apologized multiple times for the delay even though it is perfectly standard to wait for a part from the manufacturer, and I understood. I don't expect them to stock $200 parts for all kinds of fridges. They really cared about pleasing the customer and their reputation. Very pleasant to work with. I called in to get my fridge fixed. The phone was picked up immediately I'm not even sure if it rang once. The receptionist Jake professionally answered the phone. Taking pride in his customer service he quickly put me on the phone with Jake. Jake passionately offered an abundance of help. He was able to do a partial diagnostics on the phone narrowing down what could be wrong to just a few things. With this knowledge Jake was able to bring the parts he felt may be needed. Sure enough he knows what he's doing. He showed up prepared and fixed my fridge his first time out. Every other technician wanted me to pay one fee to come out and asses the problem. Then another fee to come fix the problem. Then finally the fee for whatever part was broken. Ampm has a very reasonable and understanding staff. This company is great. They came out the same day I called for Kitchenaid oven that went out. They were able to get the needed parts even though my oven in 11 years old and returned a few days later on a Saturday to finish the repair. They show up when they say they will, they call ahead to let you know when repairman is on the way and they are very respectful that they are working in someone's home. Experienced, professional, clean and on time! First time I called AMPM was to repair our GE refrigerator that wasn't staying cold and was leaking all over our kitchen floor. I called and the man who answered sent someone as soon as possible. The technician arrived in less than 2 hours, told us what was wrong, went to pick up a necessary part he didn't have with him and then quickly returned to finish the repair... all in one day! The price was very reasonable and we couldn't have been more thrilled! I called a second time to fix our Viking oven and of course they did an excellent job! Needed repair for a Viking Convection Microwave that had stopped heating. Called on Wednesday, spoke with Jason. Jason had a serviceman named Jeff show up within 1 hour of the same day. Jeff immediately diagnosed the problem. Very carefully removed the unit from the cabinet. Took it the unit too "the shop" to fix. Stated that he would return the unit in 3-5 days. Jason called two days later to state that the unit was ready to be installed. Jeff showed up as stated within 20-30 minutes from receiving the phone call. Within 30-40, Jeff had replaced the unit. Seriously not impressed. I didn't have as bad an experience as the other reviewer who caught a repairman faking/causing a problem in order to be able to charge for an expensive repair but I still feel ripped off. The guy who showed up fixed a leak in my dishwasher but he charged me almost 3 times the cost of the part. An internet survey indicated that 100% was customary for a part that costs under $20 and 50% is appropriate for a part in the under $50 range which was my situation. I asked him to also fix an ignition problem on my cooktop. He couldn't do it and said they don't do stoves even tho it's listed as one of the appliances they service. I won't call them again. And I don't recommend them to anyone else. ADDING: I told a contractor friend about what happened to me and he came right over to have a look. He found the problem with my dishwasher and fixed it by putting a part that was supposed to engage with the water supply back in place. It had been knocked out of the part that was supposed to have retained it in place. Apparently for some time because it was scarred from closing the door many times with it out of position. This is not to say that the part he replaced didn't need to be replaced -- it's impossible to tell now. But the point is that after overcharging me he didn't even make all the repairs that were needed. And the one he failed to make (which didn't require an over-priced part) was apparent even to someone who is not in the appliances business. read more

Although the burners on my stove worked fine there was no heat working in the oven. Mike from AM PM Alliances came over and fixed the problem in less than 30 minutes. He told me, "Good news. It will live." Meaning I didn't have to buy a new part, which he said could cost around $200, because my oven is an older model, and it is hard to find the part. He was friendly, and honest, and was able to save me a lot of money by fixing the part, instead of replacing it.
