The service technician didn't check anything. I told him when he arrived my washer is leaking water. He then told me the part will be $500..? I told him oh no I was not paying that amount. I didn't call Geek Squad they came out and gave my washing machine a full check and service found nothing wrong with it it works just like new now this a.m. p.m. I believe is fraud they charged me $65 for the service fee that was the request from them at the beginning okay so I paid but why would they tell me I needed a part for $500 plus dollars not right something wrong be careful because there's fraud out there!!! read more

I called AM PM after paying double for the same repair a month earlier to a certified Thermador oven repair company called A+ . Never got a repair done, but the process and service was MEH. The service window is 3 hours. You would think in that large window, you can keep to it or at least call if you're running late. I had to call to ask where the technician was. He came later, said he doesn't know why it's happening and left. I call the company back, they said they won't know until the tech puts in his report. I contacted the company via yelp on a holiday around 5 pm and was able to set up an appointment for the next morning. They were incredibly good at communicating arrival times. Vince the technician was amazing and managed to get a stuck piece of clothing out of an old washing machine with an agitator. I then went to put in a load of wash and it wasn't working. Okay, just need to say that there was absolutely nothing wrong with my DCS gas stove/oven. It was me . . . I was the knucklehead! Doesn't matter though as AMPM Appliance Service scheduled my appointment for today and arrived before my scheduled window of 12:00-3:00pm. Our washing machine gets a lot of use, and when it began leaking this morning, I called AMPM right away. They have been repairing our appliances for many years, and I call them first because they often send a technician the same day. Vince came at 6:00 pm and took a look at the washer. He said the washer wasn't leaking. I told him that I had cleaned the lint filter yesterday, and it turned out that I didn't tighten it securely enough, which was the source of the leak. I was relieved that there wasn't a costly repair and was grateful to have an honest technician who works for a company with integrity. If I can rate zero, I would. Their technician, Norman, quoted $ 450 for Samsung fridge repair for water leaking, ice build up and not cooling. When the job was quoted, it came with 3 months warranty for parts and labor. Norman said he would replace new materials for repair which he didn't. But he charged the quoted price. I found out later since I was not at home when he was there repairing. And when I called the company they lied to me and said they replaced it. And of course the fridge is still not working. One month after the repair, it has the same issue that we had which is water leaking, ice build up and not cooling. So I called the company again, claiming the issue and asked them for come and check the job they had done. They did come and said " the warranty is only for one month'". and they said there is another issue with the fridge and gave me another quote for different parts replacement for the same issue. I don't have time to argue with them. I considered as the money was donated to them. Just dropping the review so that others can be aware of it. And yet, you loose a customer for sure. When I asked the manager, he explained the service call price is higher for stackable units. We had no idea! Make sure you tell companies if you have a stacked washer/dryer--the price for service calls could be double! Warning: Avoid being ripped off by this company! My Samsung dryer started making disturbing sounds and I called AM PM Appliance Service to have it repaired. Jeff came, looked at the dryer, and told me it needed a new roller. But he said he wanted me to buy a 'dryer repair kit' to the tune of $ 144.-. That dryer repair kit was supposed to include drum supports, idler, pulley, and belt. The dryer did not need any of those other parts. But the clincher was the $ 200.- for labor he felt justified in charging. It was a ridiculously exorbitant estimate. I would never voluntarily do business with a company who was trying to rip their customers off. So I paid the $ 75.- fee for his service call and sent Jeff on his way. read more

Sometimes, the way a business handles a problem reveals more about them, than how they deal with praise. Unfortunately, such is the case here. Let me begin with what went right... The appliance that needed fixing was ultimately fixed and because of subsequent problems I did not have to pay full price (hence, two stars, instead of one.) But while looking at the original problem, I was told that a different appliance, right under the first, could also be fixed at the same time. We have lived with what seemed to be a loose hinge on an oven for seven years. So it seemed reasonable to fix this annoyance and I agreed for a part to be ordered. In the end, the second appliance could not be fixed. When the door was put back, it seemed worse off because the hinge was looser and the light kept popping on (unless now, it was pushed up and shimmied in just the right way.) So the technician did not charge for the part. Herein lies the bigger problem. The technician got very upset at me because he said the light always popped on. (But my entire family knows this is not true in our many years with it. Though loose, it was tight enough for the light to stay off.) What's disturbing is the extent of the technician's anger even after I agreed to pay. My concern was: if the hinge became even more loose after a few days, I'd be stuck with a new problem and a new financial burden. So after I would not sign a sheet that indicated I was completely satisfied with the job (among other things,) my receipt was torn up in my face and he said "I was never here. You can't complain..." I was shaken, to say the least. But I demanded that receipt back. I had to physically follow him toward my door, grabbing for the receipt pieces because he wanted to do away with evidence. My mother watched with shock. I called the main office back immediately and told them the situation, asking for a call back that same day from a manager. I got a call the next day. The person I spoke with did say sorry, but seemed to be in a rush to get off the phone. It did surprise me a bit because if I were a higher up, I would want to bend over backwards to let the customer know that the situation is being taken seriously and make amends (and they did to a lesser degree.) It pains me to write bad reviews; so I usually wait until ill feelings subside. After a month since this incident, I believe my review is not out of any kind of malice. Rather, I do wish the best for this business. But to improve, better training and a proper handling of issues is required, because problems are inevitable. Now, it's a risk for me to write this review since this took place in my home and a customer should feel safe when a technician visits. But I believe it's important for the business to know their shortcomings and for people to be wary. This can be solved and I hope the company will learn from their mistakes. But unfortunately, because of this multi-faceted incident (in fact, I did not mention every negative detail,) they have not only lost my business, but my future positive recommendations and what could have been a glowing review. read more
