I ordered the duck soup, which was rich and tasty. Cost was around $20. I was hungry for comfort food that night, and this soup filled the bill. My husband ordered the crispy duck, and I stole a couple tastes. Really excellent. Nice chunky pieces of fried duck. My daughter's go-to and comfort food is always drunken noodles beef. Again, a really flavorful dish, nice slices of beef. Service was great. Lots of water refills and friendly advice. We will be going back- and I think this may be our new go-to for Thai food! They offered a variety of fishes, some very novel and interesting looking...I want to try their snapper special next. Another one to try would be whole fish at $30, branzino.

The hot and sour noodle soup is as advertised - just enough spice to complement the sour, but not overwhelm to make it feel like mala. It's served, as expected, with glass noodles, some bak choi, and some pork slices. Nothing spectacular but par for the course. The sichuan beef noodle foon soup was slight notch better. The broth gives really warm vibe and you can tell it's been brothing for a long time. Again just the right amount of spicy to make you keep slurping for more. The noodles were average, chewy, but not bouncy. Also comes with a healthy amount beef slices and bak choi. Again - a great noodle soup bowl but nothing jaw dropping. Soup dumplings were fantastic, however. The pork definitely has its own marinade and the soup is flavorful. The tables are close together, the light is low, even if this place was full it would be... Cozy. A Chinese restaurant that's cozy is a very short leap to romantic. You can have a conversation here. I ordered my usual and waited about 10 minutes. The GTC was excellent. It had spice and flavor, but not too spicy. The fried rice was delicious. Good portion size and a good price. Two egg rolls and the total came to $25.25. No surprises, nothing out of the ordinary. If you had told me this had come from my favorite- now sadly closed - Chinese restaurant, I would have never known the difference. And there in lies what I think makes a good Chinese restaurant: predictability. American Chinese food is a distinct cuisine with the same menus, the same waving Buddah and melamine plates. We had our noodles fall apart and Yan corrected it immediately. She took the time to talk about her story of how she opened the restaurant originally to support her daughters college, her natural gift at cooking, and how her recipe was developed originally from a family one to what it is today. The gentleman who waited on us was very kind and chatty, and took the time to explain the menu and kept checking on us...he alone I would come back for...I love it when someone takes pride in their restaurant. The food was flavorful and so delicious! I had the brisket (A17, I think) and OMG so good! Had extra egg and it was pure perfection! My husband had the pig feet and he was very happy. I think we will definitely come back and soon! The food, service, cleanliness, and pricing are perfect!
