The apples are delicious. The apples themselves are crispy and juicy and sweet. The toppings are awesome and creative. We have found that they make great gifts (even for foodies) and are popular at parties. Don't take my word for it, they have been featured in the Wall Street Journal and on FoodTV. prettttty fantabulous. i'm old school. i don't want gummy worms or a hot wheels car glued to my apple with a snickers bar. i just want caramel. lots of it. no peanuts. no chocolate chips. no toffee. just caramel. and even then.... some places, well, they eff that up. i don't know how, but they do. the apple is mealy. the caramel is wrong. the balance between the two is off. however... this place? it's magic on a damn apple. These gourmet apples are the highlight of my week! I ordered the peanut covered caramel apple and the macadamia nut coconut milk chocolate caramel apple, and let me tell youTHEY WERE DELICIOUS!!!! I ate the peanut caramel apples within three hours, and I'm sure the other one in the fridge will be gone after tomorrow too. My order came quickly. The apples were placed in a beautiful copper box that you can also give as a gift. The apples were crisp, fresh, and tangy! Not soggy as I feared they might be. The caramel is so smooth and tasty, it isn't sticky like other cheaply made caramels. The nuts were fresh and toasty. The chocolate is to die for, so rich and decadent. The price was reasonable. Recently purchased my annual stock of Amy's apples only to be disappointed in the quality. As an annual, regular purchaser of multiple apples for over the past ten years, I feel qualified to comment on the changes I've "tasted". I understand the importance of reviewing where one sources products (apples/sugar/chocolate) with to keep the price from increasing. Unfortunately, what I can report is: * The apples are still large, but now taste no different than the versions one can get when purchasing from Pick N Save (sour green apples--not the slightly sweeter version Amy used to feature). * Dark Chocolate-current batch is tasteless-more like unsweetened chocolate than dark chocolate * Caramel- grainy and less used on layered apples I understand now most caramel apples sold in the store are mass-produced at another location and brought to the store. The days of employees creating the apples in-front of customers from the copper vat are gone. Honestly the apples now taste mass-produced. While they still look amazing, they don't taste amazing to those of us who still remember the former taste of an Amy's apple. I guess somethings do not stay the same, including the original gooey, dark chocolate sea salt apples of yore. Next time I will have to drive 4 miles to your new competitor in Grafton for a taste test. read more

Amy's continues to have amazing, high-quality sweets, however, my trip yesterday left me feeling dismayed. After purchasing an apple, the teen behind the counter was cutting said apple when she very loudly verbalized her annoyance at only having received $2 in tips so far that day. Like, this girl was not being subtle at all. Unfortunately, I was one of the many patrons who walked in with only a card for payment, and no cash to tip with (the iPad pay service company Amy's uses does not give you the option to tip on the card). I even ran outside to my boyfriend to see if he had any cash (he didn't). I know this experience may not sound like a big deal to most, but I work in the customer service industry and pretty much tip EVERYBODY I can. So to be publicly shamed for not tipping when I was physically unable to has left me feeling irked. So much so I wrote my first review in years. Amy's - PLEASE update your iPad pay service so that your patrons are automatically given the option to tip when paying with a credit/debit card - please and thank you. read more

It was very difficult to work with 'corporate' in an attempt to purchase apples for an event I was attending. I was repeatedly referred to the website where apples are (more than) double the price as in the store. I am local - I don't need to use the website. I tried to support a local merchant, introduce new people to Amy's, keep money local - you get the idea. Eventually I did get the price reduced slightly and I was still instructed that I needed to purchase in lots of 12 like the website offers v just getting 30 apples as requested. It was WAY too much hassle and they certainly didn't seem grateful for locals who (had been and) could be their best advocates. I have never seen an owner be as rude and degrading to their employees as this man was to his. Let me add, his employees are all young girls. I used to be a regular customer, but will now never return and have mentioned to many others to boycott as well. On two different occasions, I have seen clear displays of verbal abuse. Once, when I entered the owner was yelling at a girl because she wasn't rolling apples in peanuts the proper way. He practically pushed her out of the way and began showing her "the proper way" to do it, and while doing it he dropped one of the apples himself. There was no reason for him to shout at his employee, for one, in front of a customer, and especially if he can't even do it himself! Also, as I was walking up to the counter, he yelled at her for not being ready. Possibly because he was already yelling at her for something else? The next time I returned, while I was browsing through apples, the phone rang. I thought nothing of it but pretty soon I heard the girl on the phone apologizing profusely to "John" and trying to explain herself, and was on the verge of tears. When I walked in, she was simply doing something with chocolate so I have no clue what she could have been getting verbally abused over the phone for. Also, it is alarming that he has so little trust in his employees that he must watch them via camera. Do not buy from the company and give any money to this man. These poor girls working for him. If you do choose to continue buying from them, please-- give them a tip for putting up with the owner. read more

Amy's is known for their caramel apples. They may seem pricey but they are outstanding and like no other place I have been to. Aside from the caramel apples though, the remaining items just seem like overpriced candy and I haven't had anything else there yet that justifies the $30+ price per pound. I still love the store, and will indulge in the finest caramel apples around. read more

We used to look forward to treating ourselves to a delicious decadent caramel apple from Amy's every time we came to Cedarburg to visit family. On our most recent visit we were disappointed and disheartened with the caramel apple quality. We asked for the apple to be sliced and when we opened the box we were saddened to find only two cuts were executed and that left two other sections as big chunks. The apple was just ok, a bit brown at the core, the barely holding on caramel seemed thin and the pecans sparse. I hope in January we will return to find the caramel apples fresh and slathered in a luscious thick coating of caramel with pecans galore - how we remember it to be. read more

One of the gems of Cedarburg! A destination spot too! I regularly drive up from Milwaukee just to get a few of the delicious caramel apples! Great window display shows you the 20 or so varieties...favorites include the Sea Salt, Peanut, Heath, Oreo, M&M, Reese Pieces, a cranberry one with white chocolate...I could go on and on! I purchased a caramel apple during the Harvest Fest in Cedarburg . Yoo hoo and oh boy ! This was like a religious experience it was so good ! I've eaten caramel apples from the Pine Cone in Johnson Creek , Whole Foods and from the Milwaukee Public Market . After tasting Amy's apples, I vowed to never purchase a store bought caramel apple ever again ! This is my second customer service faux pas with Amy's. I ordered a Mother's Day basket on April 27 and paid for 2 day air delivery for the basket to be delivered on May 8, 2015. When the basket was not delivered on May 8th, I contacted the Amy's phone number to file a complaint. The Corporate offices were closed on May 9th, so I got the Amy's store. The clerk said that they did not handle customer service complaints and that I would have to wait until Monday, May 11th to call Corporate. By this time I was very frustrated. I contacted the Company on today, May 11th and was told that I could get my shipping and packing cost refunded and that the package would be delivered today...THE DAY AFTER MOTHER'S DAY. Buyer beware! Don't order online at Amy's!!!!!!!! Let me start off by saying I've never written a review before. I'm so upset with this company I felt compelled to write. I order online a lot, too much and can honestly say this is THE WORST experience I've ever had. I placed an order online January 24th for a Valentine's gift for my fiance. I purposely selected that the ship date be February 13th (a Friday) because Saturday delivery charges were too expensive. I opted for 2 day shipping at $14.99 which is still quite steep. Never the less, I was willing to pay that because I thought this was a novel fun gift to give. On January 26th I see an email that says my order has shipped!!! I was panicked, this was supposed to be a Valentines Day gift! I even filled out a free gift enclosure that read "Dear John, Happy Valentines Day! Love, Pam." What the heck!! Why would I want this delivered almost a month early??? I called and left a message on their voicemail. I also sent two emails to customer service and their order department expressing there was a problem. The following day I called again and spoke with Mary. I work retail and have dealt with customers for over 10 years. This women was BEYOND RUDE. I expressed to her the problem and her response was robotic and callous. According to Mary they had sent me a confirmation email when I placed the order which showed a ship date for the 26th. I obviously never saw this and was NOT aware there was even a problem UNTIL I saw the email that said my ORDER HAD SHIPPED. I then called and emailed ASAP. She could have cared less. Her attitude was you received confirmation, the order has shipped too bad. I know there was a mix up with the delivery date. I specifically selected the Friday the day before Valentines day like I stated earlier. I asked if she could cancel the shipment and re-send at the date I requested. She said no, I could have it sent to my home instead. That wasn't an option because it's perishable and wouldn't keep until Valentines Day. She was so ridged and unwilling to help resolve this. I am beyond upset, I have never dealt with such an unprofessional company/person in my life. Wasn't the gift enclosure a red flag for them? Honestly, I don't think anyone would send a Valentines day gift a moth early! Bottom line, they spoiled my gift and could have cared less. It blows my mind that merchants fail to realize they are ONLY as successful as the customer makes them. If they continue to treat their customers how I was treated they'll eventually be out of business. Be careful, they're really unethical. read more

I am updating this review because of my experience yesterday at Amy's. Me and my dad walked in to buy some Christmas candy and we're the only people in the store besides a lady who came in to buy a few apples. Amy's usually employs teenage girls, who usually have seem like they at least try to be friendly. When I asked for certain items out of the display counter, the girl working the counter could not have seemed more annoyed. She did not smile, and just kept saying "Is that it?" She sounded obviously annoyed by our presence in the store. We bought over $50 of chocolate and candy, and were surprised that we would be such a burden to the employees. I have lived in Cedarburg my entire life, and Amy's has always been a tradition for every holiday with my family. first I want to say, I've had their caramel apples before, and they are very good. I stopped in with my daughter and bought a couple bags of a few pieces of this and that, for a very high price. Now let me tell you, I'm a professional when it comes to chocolate, and don't mind paying a higher price for quality. I bought a few pieces of toffee, my favorite, and at first bite it had good flavor, but after chewing for awhile it turns very hard, sticks badly to your teeth and hard to swollow, seriously not good. Then I tried a coconut cluster, second favorite, it was mushy and not good flavor. Last, a bite of a caramel turtle, how can you mess that up, I would have rather had a candy bar from the gas station. Will Never buy candy there again, but I would have a Carmel Apple.
