This is definitely a good place to go for breakfast in South Jersey. It has a very retro diner vibe with a ton of antique advertising on the walls. We lucked out on a Sunday morning and sat rather quickly. This place can get very busy if you wait too late on a weekend to get there. Our waiter was a nice guy and hit the table as much as possible to ensure we enjoyed our experience. The menu is huge with a ton of omelettes as well as pancakes, waffles, french toast, etc. I decided on stuffed french toast with a side of scrapple. It was pretty good, if there's a next time I will not get anything bacon; I just didn't like the flavor. We ordered coffee as soon as we were seated but had to wait for a fresh pot and that's fine. I have been here a couple of times and always try to order something different on the menu. As a jersey girl, I love all the vintage jersey shore postcards and other NJ decor. It is a little small, so expect it to be crowded on a saturday or sunday morning. The servers and staff do a great job or getting food out quickly without it feeling rushed. It can feel a little hectic in here-especially during peak times. The food and service has always been great every time I come here. Amy's Omelette House is a typical New Jersey diner with a focus on breakfast. We were in town for a convention and tired of hotel food, so we did a quick search for nearby breakfast restaurants and this one was the best reviewed. There are HUNDREDS of options - crazy! I decided to get the Potato Pancake special - potato pancakes topped with bacon, roasted tomato, cheddar cheese and eggs. Additionally, I opted to sub the home fries and toast for their berry parfait. The meal was all right, however the potato pancakes are very dense and also sweet - I have never had anything like it, and was not a big fan. Luckily, it was covered in cheese and bacon which masked the sweetness. The tomato was not roasted, but provided some relief from the heaviness of the dish. The best choice I made was berry parfait - it was overall very refreshing and had lots of berries and granola in every bite. It was advertised to have Greek yogurt, but it was definitely not that - more like fat free yogurt, very thin and almost watery. That said, there were so many berries that I honestly did not mind, and still enjoyed the parfait. Mike got the Porky's omelette which had pork roll, bacon, onion and sausage gravy. We were surprised to see that the omelette was prepared frittata/Italian-style, with the ingredients mixed into the egg mixture - very interesting and unexpected. He also subbed his home fries and toast for pancakes. We both agreed that the pancakes were above average and probably the best thing we got. Overall, he said he liked the meal. We're from Astoria so we're just passing through, but it's a pretty solid option for the area. We came during a nonbusy time and I had such a positive experience. They gave hundreds of omelets too choose from. It takes a while to decide. I ordered a side fruit cup and the fruit was extremely fresh. It definitely wasn't canned. I can see how busy/chaotic this place would get on a weekend. Food was good - the portions are large! Only real complaint is that our waitress kept forgetting to bring sugar for our coffee, but it was a very busy Saturday morning. I had the Healthyman meal with spinach added to the egg whites and it was delicious. I don't usually like turkey sausage, but this was pretty good - same goes for the whole wheat pa cakes which were amazing. My wife had the Nova Benny with the hollandaise on the side and added avocado. She really liked it and they gave her a good portion of avocado. We got there at 10:45 and parking was tight, but we sat right away. By the time we left around 11:45 there was a pretty good line of people waiting for a table. We have outdoor seating and the food and service were okay. I got a take out order, the Low Tide. It had burnt home fries and burnt bread that wasn't even the wheat that was ordered. The omelette was barely filled. There was a total of 3 shrimp in it. It was bland and hmore imagination crab meat than real. We came to Amy's to fuel ourselves for a day of errands around Cherry Hill. The ample parking and clean space set a good impression from the beginning. My West Coast Omelette (under the "healthy choice" category on the intimidatingly large menu) was fresh and flavorful and did not skimp on the pesto. It's a biscuit topped with scrabble and topped with gravy, if you like scrabble I'd 100% recommend this! This is definitely a place where you'd want to take your family too for a nice early breakfast consider how the menu is gigantic, the food is great, and the atmosphere is memorable, the only thing that is preventing me from leaving 5 stars is the prices. Best pancakes in South Jersey. I'm going on record and I will vouch for it. These pancakes are only rivaled by those at the Fountain Diner in Hartsdale, NY. If you're not a fan of pancakes... I think you'll still find something on this menu that reads like a short story. This menu is MASSIVE. It's a South Jersey diner, I guess that's par for the course. I've been here a half a dozen times and I haven't had anything I didn't like it. If you can dream it and it's breakfast related, they will make it. Amy's just opened a few days ago. They have other locations in Long Branch and Burlington, NJ. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. We decided to try this place for breakfast this morning. The wait time to be seated for us was less than 10 minutes. The menu is huge, almost overwhelming. (you may want to take a peak at the menu on-line first). They have over 200 omelette offerings with different fillings/combos (avocado, lox, tex-mex, pepper jack, feta, spinach, sun dried tomatoes, etc.). They have pancakes, skillets, waffles, oatmeal, breakfast sandwiches, potato pancakes, turkey sausage/bacon, Eggs Benedict, fresh fruit cups, etc. Kate decided to order the "Berry-Berry" pancakes (multi-grain option) that had blackberries, raspberries, blueberries & strawberries. Visually, it looked like it was going to be dry but it was tasty/moist, especially with the syrup. The multigrain had a nice texture, was wholesome. The portion was HUGE (might have been 3 or 4 pancakes, can't remember?). Next time, we will ask the server for (2) pancakes. I ordered the 'Healthy Start' egg-white omelette (spinach, chicken, sun dried tomato with a fruit cup on the side). I added Feta cheese. Even though I ordered egg-white, it looked yellowi'sh (almost as if it was EggBeaters?). In any case, the omelette was tasty and the portion was very big (I would prefer it to be a little thinner but I know you can't please everyone). The feta cheese could of been melted a little more. I hit the omelette up with a couple splashes of Tabasco sauce, it kicked it up a notch. The side of whole wheat bread was good (looked like it had flax seed in them?) Since this was our first time here, we ordered a side of home fries (cooked w/ onions) to test them out. I asked for them to be extra crispy/well done. The portion was huge. (can be shared by two people). Thing is, the potatoes were served on a smaller plate, piled high. This trapped-in steam, causing the potatoes to be more mushy than I prefer. The menu indicates they also serve deep fried potatoes (no onions). Our server was friendly. The prices were reasonable. The portions were huge. I observed a lot of waste/ left-overs on people's plates. I also observed people taking home doggy bags. I think it would be nice if Amy's offered the option of smaller portions. (for those that want it) Overall, we liked Amy's. I'd say a solid 3.5 stars. We are looking forward to coming back. Maybe we will try the lunch offerings next time. read more

Stopped in for brunch on a Saturday and got 3 dishes. The Stuffed Granola French Toast, Granola Pancake and the Pancrepe. All three were excellent and the sweetness in the dishes was offset by the side of disco home-fries special. I was really underwhelmed and feel betrayed. The food was over priced, overly greasy, and tasted like the grill has never been cleaned. Having a large menu does not mean you have great food. Maybe you should focus on a few things you are really good at. I had a bacon and mushroom omlette. Again the portions are huge but I suggest going to a diner you will pay less and receive better tasting food. Also, we took our toddler which I don't suggest being the dining area is overly cramped. I gave it two stars because even though it wasn't the best I would revisit if someone wanted to come however I it would never be my choice. We only waited about 10 minutes to get seated. Amy's is known for their menu with endless omlette combinations, they have so many options it can get really overwhelming. Their portions are also very large that you have enough leftovers for another meal. I had the Belly Buster omlette which comes with home fries and I got a side of toast the wifee got the super combo which came with pancakes, french toast, bacon, sausage and eggs. Our meal was just basic breakfast food that was plentiful and filling. My in-laws were happy with their food. You never leave Amy's hungry and definitely get your moneys worth. read more

I think people mistake large portions for good food. If there is one thing I can say about this place is that you get a lot of food. I got the Steak and Cake. Or is it Cake and Steak...it doesn't matter because I'd never recommend the dish...or the restaurant for that matter. It came with steak (that wasn't bad), a potatoe pancake (that was dry and tasteless), and eggs...and home fries---I got mine loaded--so, it came with bacon, cheddar, scallions...but it was really just a mess under seasoned over cooked piled up on my plate. My boyfriend ordered some kind of German omelette and was equally disappointed. Whoever thought to sneak that tasteless dry potato pancakes in an omelette with a bunch of other crap needs to be slapped (I'll volunteer to do it). OK. OK. So, the food wasn't so great...but how was the service, you ask? A breakfast Specialty restaurant. They have hundreds of different kinds of omelettes on the menu and you can create any you don't see, which will be hard. The potatoes are really good and you can have them several kinds of ways with onions, cheese, bacon, the world. My personal favorite here is the Potato Pancakes, they are handmade and homemade and better than your mom will Make. The prices here are really reasonable as well. The place fills up so prepare to wait on the weekends and they are no great for large parties so don't bring 15 people here on a Sunday and think you will get seated together. I am a breakfast fiend. I random google searched breakfast places and Amy's Omelette House popped up. They definitely live up to their namesake. The first two pages (and these are not small 8 1/2 x 11 sheets but gargantuan posterboards) are filled from top to bottom with omelets and any number of variations. There are easily over 200 combinations and styles of omelets to choose from. Yes, they have the usual fare for those feeling less adventurous, but.. it's an 'Omelet House'. Omelets!! My wife went with a baked potato omelet; filled with bacon, cheddar cheese AND sour cream.. on the INSIDE! As well as a huge dollop on top just in case you feel the need to cover every crevice of the delicious pillow. The homefries were plentiful although some a bit too browned to the point of burnt (mainly the onions.. which is a nice touch when they're not overcooked). Since this was our first time, I decided to take it easy and go with something small. #191 The Leprechaun - #181 with Spinach. The #181, btw, is entitled the "Belly Buster" consisting of ham, sausage, bacon, mushrooms, onions, peppers & cheese. This style omelet fell under the 'country-style' category, which meant that the potatoes were cooked into the omelet. I also went with rye for my bread, but the toast seems so menial compared to the goliath omelet. The omelet was delicious! It almost saddened me when mentally comparing Amy's to my other favorite breakfast place, especially when the bill came. Two omelets and two coffees for $25?!?! Umm.. DUH! Their french toast and pancakes also get similar treatment allowing you to spruce up the blank-bready-slates with enough bling to outshine snoop dog.. err.. lion. We will definitely be back and would advise you to stop in and give it a go if you're nearby. *We went on a weekday around 9am and there was hardly anyone inside. The bf and i came here for my birthday breakfast. We planned on going to Grand Luxe in Cherry Hill but decided to check this place out that i previously bookmarked. It was about 11 am on a Saturday and the wait was about 10 minutes. The omelette menu was ridiculous. You name it they make it. I think there's about 200 options for omelettes alone. I opted for the new england and the bf got the hungry man. We both enjoyed our breakfast choices. I had about more than half as leftovers. Tip: if your not a big eater then sharing is best. The portion size of the omelettes are more than enough for 2. I would say this place is great alternative to your usual diners. Keep in mind they have other great options than just omelettes.
