This adorable yet hipster coffee shop was delicious. Staff was very friendly, menu choices were well thought out, and coffee was flavorful. My friend and I got the Hash it out. She ordered it as is, and I got it without bacon. It was nice because the woman who took our order suggested I get it with greens instead and it was very good. Rating from an out of state visitor here! I came here a few years ago because my wife went to school out here. This is her go-to spot. They did remodel the place so it has a bigger kitchen now. A bigger kitchen means a bigger menu! They have burger options now! She got the "lite and easy" which consists of egg whites, fresh fruit, and dry toast. I got the vermonster (special) and it consists of scramble eggs, hash brown patty, American cheese, and maple aioli in a wrap. Both were DELICIOUS. We also got a couple of tasty smoothies. Wife was super happy to be able to visit here again. I was happy she was happy and I had yummy goodness in my belly. This place is 5 stars (wife threatened me if I gave it anything less). I've been here to this place a few times for brunch. I love the area--it's at the end of Wickenden Street. There's a ton of parking spots across the street behind Coffee Exchange building. So parking is no problem--even for Saturday/Sunday brunch. I have ordered the Vermonster and Hash it Out. Both are delicious, I especially love the aioli sauce that's in both of them. Truly gives it a flavor kick! There is seating inside and outside, but it is a very small cafe and it's usually crowded on weekends. Highly recommend going after the breakfast and brunch rush! Food takes awhile to get when it is busy--today, I waited for 20 minutes. However, it is totally worth it! read more

On sunny days, Amy's Place is typically crowded out the door as it's a favorite among students in the neighborhood. We've passed it on Wickenden many times, and figured it was finally time to see what the fuss is all about. The food is quite good and inexpensive! I recommend the Vermonster - fluffy, perfectly cooked scrambled eggs and crunchy, salty hashbrowns with sausage & melted cheese make for a great breakfast wrap. My SO enjoyed the Hangover. Smoothies are decent, but seemed to separate unusually quickly. (I got strawberries/bananas/regular milk) The coffee is high quality, brewed from New Harvest Coffee. We were going to get our order to go, but through miscommunication ended up chowing down there. Inside, the tables are mostly shared or for groups of 4+, yet we noticed two people hoard a table of 6 for themselves. There are high top counter seats around the perimeter, but these are noticeably less comfortable/spacious. I do appreciate the bright natural lighting and plants! They are Unfortunately not open as much as I would like them to be but when I do manage to make my way to Amy's I am never disappointed. All of their breakfast sandwiches are so good and automatically come on Portuguese bread which is a game changer! Love the hangover breakfast sandwich which comes with a spicy aioli that brings the sammy together perfectly. I don't know how I've lived in Fox Point for two years and not gone to Amy's before. I will tell you two things: 1. The first time I came, I didn't even eat anything (I was meeting friends during a time of fasting, so they ate) and I was still prepared to give it a five star review. I was really amazed! Selling points: coziness of patio space, delectable presentation of food and smoothies (great quality/quantity for price), a self-serve water (with fruit essence) station, AND the fact that as an apology for neglecting to fill my friend's order in a timely fashion, they gave her a gift card. How awesome! 2. When I returned the following weekend-- Brown graduation day, mind you-- I was validated in my five star conviction. My friend and I shared banana chocolate chip pancakes with berries and a Greek omelet, and both were rad. We still found patio space and were served quickly, despite the fact that chaos was happening everywhere else, and I just loved the atmosphere. This is a tough one because some of their breakfast options are delicious, and some mediocre. Generally the sandwiches are excellent, well-made with fresh ingredients. It's their wraps and burritos that really let them down. On our last visit we had a breakfast burrito with sloppy, wet guacamole that made the whole thing fall apart and was really unpleasant. So 5 stars for some things, only 2 for others lands you somewhere in between depending on what you prefer to eat from then extensive menu. Go, but pick wisely. read more

I've heard a lot about Amy's place from Brown students but each time I've tried to go, there was no space to sit! Usually I ended up settling for another brunch place on Wickenden such as Brickway or Cafe Zog. The hype around Amy's place is real... the food was delicious! Though it may be hard to get a seat (and even if you do, you could still be extremely cramped), it is worth it. My friends got a variety of dishes while I got the California omelette. If I had more time to contemplate my order, I probably wouldn't have gotten that since it doesn't actually have meat in it (and I am a meat-lover). However, it was surprisingly good despite having no meat. The yogurt on top of the omelette was strange but honestly great if you spread it evenly across the top of the omelette. It was even better when I added some of their hot sauce on top of the yogurt. My friends absolutely loved their pancakes; nobody had any leftovers. Amy's Place may always be packed, but that's a tribute to their delicious dishes, friendly service, and warm and inviting atmosphere. 5 stars! read more

The food ranges from comfort to healthy, depending on what you want to order. Coffee has free refills, which is fantastic on a dreary morning. Good breakfast on wickendon. Parking is a real pain though. Street parking is all we could find and I ran into an unpleasant situation and almost skipped Amy's place because of that. There are outdoor seatings in the back of the Cafe but we didn't go out to explore. No frills decor inside. Ordering was simple. The staff was energetic and very friendly. Menu is filled with healthy choices and coffee was ok. We had the basic sausage and eggs for breakfast after seeing the size of their pancakes. If you are a big eater, and like thick pancakes, definitely go for the pancakes. I would return to Amy's is parking was easier or staying close by. read more

Came to Amy's this morning after searching on Yelp! It did not disappoint. The restaurant is tiny and I almost had to take it to go. The food might not be perfect, but the atmosphere here seriously soothes the soul. I feel like I'm sitting in someone's home and eating breakfast that they just made for me. When you're that cozy, it doesn't really matter if the eggs are a little greasy or what have you. I've been on a mission to sample every bacon egg and cheese in the Providence area. This version doesn't quite match up to the gooey deliciousness of BGO, but it's solid nonetheless. I went for a bolo (Portuguese roll--kind of like an English muffin with a little more sweetness to it) instead of a bagel and was not disappointed, although if I were trying to munch away a hangover I would opt for the more filling bagel. Skip the coffee--as others have said, it's brutal. In case you still dare to try it, there are free refills on a large ($2). They also serve a wide array of specialty drinks (seasonal special: eggnog!) so that might be a better call. Overall, Amy's Place is a charming and inexpensive place for breakfast. Went here Sunday morning for some breakfast and they weren't bad! I went super basic and got eggs with toast, bacon and home fries. (Home fries were SO good). They had a cute little vibe going on, you got to sit out back where they had a tent set up with tables. Came here with my roommate yesterday. After one bite we determined that the audacity of this place to make the food as delicious as they did was selfish and rude. To make it mouth watering good, to have the chai created in such soothing, warm, perfection, to have us savor every bite and make us want to keep coming back for more is absurd. In all seriousness, we found this place using yelp and had doubts when we came in. First we received our chai, my first ever, and I will not ever go back to coffee. It took a lot of restraint not to finish our chai before our food arrived. It was so warm and smooth and rich. The food...amazing!!!! I devoured many eggs and sausage. My pancakes were absolutely delightful, soft, fluffy. We had to take the rest home. The staff were friendly as well and the guy at the register was patient and kind, especially with dealing with my indecisive roommate.
