The best breakfast/brunch spot in the area! It was my first time checking out Amy's Place and everything I got was above and beyond my expectations. They stop their food menu around 1pm on Saturdays and I made it just in the neck of time. The staff was patient and was happy to take my order, I got there just 3 mins before they stopped their food menu and put my order in right away and they were very accommodating. The breakfast sandwiches are amazing. I also got the Amy's burger and it has a nice kick to it. You can also add in a side of fries. The chai latte was amazinnnngggg! I was pleasantly shocked since I'm a big coffee lover - it did not disappoint. There's indoor and some outdoor seating and the service was quick.

Maybe my expectations were a little high going in. After all, I've heard so many great things. Don't get me wrong, it's good! Potentially a little over hyped though. First, a warning. Do not wait inside for your food unless you want to smell like a deep fryer. The smoke from the kitchen grill permeates the whole place and you will leave smelling like you got off a 8 hour line cook shift. This place is pretty inexpensive. Seeing that I should have known better, but boy this was a sandwich for ants. Don't expect to come here and get full unless you get at least 2 of these if you have any kind of appetite. The bolo was nice. Soft, could have been a little more toasted IMO, but what was going on inside was better: pickled onion, cheese, egg, avocado and hot sauce. Texturally it was good (crisper bolo would have been a nice break from all the soft), the spinach helps a little with that, lending some crisp. Flavor was on point, the acidic and tart bite was really nice and very familiar for me because I lean into these flavors with my home cooking. Just know what you're getting when you come here. It's a simple breakfast sandwich shop and if you have those expectations, you'll love it. If you love cheffing up breakfast sandwiches at home, I'd probably pass.

Back on the RI Food Fights #BestBreakfastSandwich trail, we stopped at Amy's Place in Fox Point. This tiny breakfast spot was packed! And for good reason - the food is delicious & comforting, worth every minute of the wait. We took our sandwiches to go. I selected the Sunday Sandwich: egg, american, bacon, hash brown, spicy aioli, guacamole, greens and tomato on a bolo. That's their description... this is mine: crispy bacon, a perfectly cooked egg, melted American cheese, fresh tomato & lettuce, creamy guac, a golden hash brown & a punchy garlic aioli, all piled onto a fluffy Portuguese bolo roll. It is the kind of sandwich you dream about after a long week. Yes, it's that good! Hubby selected The Hangover: egg, cheddar, bacon, spinach, sautéed onion, guacamole & hot sauce on a bolo. It absolutely lives up to its name - bold, satisfying & exactly what you want when you need a serious breakfast reset! Amy's isn't just about the sandwiches, either. The coffee is excellent, the smoothies are fresh & flavorful, burgers & tacos are unique creations. Everything comes out with that made-with-care feel that keeps you coming back for more. The space itself is small with limited indoor & outdoor seating, so it can get crowded pretty quickly. Pro tip: ordering ahead makes things much smoother if you are short on time. My friend and I came here on a weekend to grab, what we thought would be a "quick bite," but it ended up being a 25 ish minute wait. They were transparent about the wait - there was a sign and they told us before placing our order. The inside is small, but despite that, they are able to seat about 8-10 people between the high tables and the high chairs facing the windows. The menu is well organized and offers breakfast and brunch type foods - breakfast burritos and tacos, sandwiches, burgers, and the typical breakfast - eggs, bacon, potatoes. I was hungry and wanted something filling, so I decided to go with their burger. I was originally intending on getting Amy's burger, but I wanted cheddar instead, so I built my own burger. My friend had a sausage egg and cheese, with a latte. We waited inside, and then took the food to the car after. The burger was tasty, and still pretty juicy. The toppings were fresh and the cheese was perfectly melted. The bun was soft on the outside, but crispy on the inside. I loved the sauce, I wish there was more of it for additional flavor. You could ask for a double patty but I am glad I stuck with one; It was thick enough and allowed the rest of the flavors to be present. For $7, it was a good burger.

I visited Amy's Place this past weekend to grab breakfast with a friend! On a Saturday morning, this place was PACKED out the door. Customers zooming in and out to pick up their orders and sitting all around the tables of the small location. It was about a 30 minute wait after we ordered so it's good to stop and shop by the local businesses in the area. We split the Hash It Out with bacon and The Hangover. Each sandwich has ingredients which compliment each other. Super delicious. Those sandwiches + the smoothies we had made me super full and satisfied. Make sure to add hot sauce for that extra kick! I wouldn't have this every weekend, but it was nice to try and I'd come back to try their other sandwich options.

This was my first time at Amy's and wow! Their breakfast sandwiches are amazing! You can tell the show is loved because it was packed and people were willing to wait 30 minutes for food and beverage. And I can see why---it's amazing! I placed my order, walked around the neighborhood to shop, and came back. I hear they are opening a Newport location and I am very excited for that! I think the space will be a bit bigger and it will be closer to me! :)

My first bite of food into the food scene in Providence and I fell in love. The sandwich in 30 degree weather was a great bite to start out my day. Though it might have been a mistake to grab a smoothie in the cold weather on a warmer day it would have paired better. The smoothie was fresh and very customizable. The only down side is the wait. The wait was about 20 minutes for my order since it was quite busy for 9 am. The sauce paired well with the protein and the portion was great. I can see why there was a massive line outside the door for this hidden local spot. The staff were also friendly and had great recommendations.

Great food but here is my concern. They've been open for years and still can't figure out a process to make the wait shorter for breakfast foods. I'm willing to wait 40 min when it's busy but the issue is- do they want customers to stand for 40 min waiting for names to be called? A text option would be great. Because without it people are trying to kill time walking around the neighborhood waiting for a sandwich but if it's done early - they have no way of knowing and now the food is cold. I waited in store today. Came out 10 late. And food was cold. Ridiculous

Worst experience I've ever had waited over an hour for a sandwich that they forgot to make. I was over 97 and they were calling orders 100+ on top of that a girl spilt a smoothie on me on accident. No one offered anything for the lost time or for ruining my clothes for the day. Won't be back. read more

Best bang for your buck in Providence for breakfast/brunch. This small spot is a the place to go for a casual brunch of breakfast. Food was great got a bagel, hash, and an egg for around $10. Wanted a big breakfast before looking around the Providence college area. Staff was friendly and place was cozy. Probably more of a local budget spot so wasn't too busy but the place is pretty small, so don't come too late! read more

I have loved everything I've eaten from here. I especially love the hangover breakfast sandwich and the smoothies. It's a small space so it can definitely be tough to get a seat on weekends but you can place your order and then explore wickendon while you wait. The folks at the counter are friendly although busy! If they ever choose to expand to a larger space I think they would make a killing. For now though it's a go to for me if I am doing takeout! read more

A lovely little neighborhood spot, but with an enormous following! I only order one thing (breakfast burrito) but it is outstanding. Be careful, though. Closed Monday and Tuesday, and no burritos on the weekend (?), so Wed-Fri is your only chance. Seriously though, it seems like their entire menu is very popular, so I'd stop by any day they're open. You won't be sorry. And in the nice weather, they have seating up and down the sidewalk too. read more

Reasonably priced breakfast place with very limited seating. Kitchen staff worked feverishly to keep up with the steady stream of orders. Limited coffee drinks, but smoothies and similar are available. Heinz's ketchup proudly served. Scratch made food was on point. Not a place I would go to on a regular basis. Place was described as "cozy" which really means "small" I sat inside and it made me feel like I was in everyone's way while sitting in my stool. It was definitely cramped in the morning. My smoothie wasn't the best either. It was lacking in flavor and just take like orange juice. And parking? Forget about it. You'll be driving around the block a couple times to try to find parking. read more

This place is a popular breakfast spot on Wickenden, it's always super crowded. If you go in person or order online, expect a wait. I got takeout, and it was a 25-30 minute wait after I placed the online order. The time estimate was very accurate, I waited 30 minutes. I got the breakfast burrito. I'm sad to report, it was underseasoned and greasy. There was not much flavor, and I couldn't identify any of the individual components, (except for raw onion) they all blended together in texture and flavor. The size was also small and not very filling. In my to go order, they put cut watermelon and slices of oranges right next to the burrito, so the flavors mixed. Pretty disappointed with this dish, but I would try something else from them. They do have a decent range of dishes, and I have heard that their smoothies are great. In terms of ambiance, the line goes right through the middle of the restaurant all the way out of the door, so it's cramped feeling and chaotic. As I picked up my online order, I accidentally bumped into people who were eating because there was no room to walk through. It might not be the most enjoyable dine experience because of this, however they do have outdoor dining which looks less crowded. read more

Make sure you go early or plan to wait a while. My husband and I had breakfast here on a weekend morning. We went inside to order our food and then was able to grab a small bistro table along the sidewalk. They had the street shut down for vendors so it was a nice time to sit outside and people watch. The place is very small with only a few tables inside that were all occupied. My husband and I each got a breakfast sandwich which we enjoyed. read more

I've only come in once and it was pretty good. I got a sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich and it was delicious. I haven't tried the hot chocolate yet, but I bet you they have a good one. The service is great and the inside is very cute. You go to the counter order and get your food rather than having a server, which makes it an easy breakfast spot if you're out running errands. Will be back again to try that hot chocolate. read more

Giving this a 5 star because it's affordable and super tasty. I got the avocado toast and my friend got the rise and shine. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I loved the pickled onions on my toast along with the chili lime salt on top. The tables were a bit small, but the interior was overall very cute. read more

The best breakfast sandwiches on the east side! I have had their Avocado Toast and The Hangover, both were delicious and filling. You have your chose of breads to choose from but I recommend having your sandwich on a Bolo. Not sure what a Bolo is, they'll tell you! I'm looking forward to trying the rest of their menu. They are busy but the service is quick and precise on your waiting time. You can also order for pick up. They have some window barstools for people watching and some outside tables for Al fresco dining. read more

I wanted a green smoothie, but also a delicious breakfast sandwich, so I tried Amy's Place for the first time. The space is cute and the food was delicious. I had the hangover breakfast sandwich & the matcha smoothie (substituted the banana with extra mango instead). the two made a perfect pair. delicious fat from the bacon in the sandwich, offset by the cool and refreshing smoothie, and any sandwich with onions on it makes me happy, sooo--bliss! read more

I was in Rhode Island for Memorial Day Weekend. We spotted this place while hanging out new providence. Amy's place has really cute interior and exterior seating. What I really liked about this place is that you can just order at the counter and then, get seating where they will bring your food. I feel most of the breakfast places are so busy, it's hard for waitress to get through each table. We ordered pancakes, hash it sandwich, and house fries between two people. Their quantity is definitely enough to share between two people. read more

I wish I had found this place sooner -- it was a late discovery made only AFTER moving to MA. I've since crossed state borders 4 times and make it a point to always stop in. Aside from the most recent trip, the hangover sandwich has continually knocked it out of the park. It is both extremely complex in flavor AND comforting -- toasted bolo, spicy aioli, greens, tomato, bacon, crispy hash brown, and egg... a crazy combo. Lovely little spot on busy Wickenden St in Providence. Gluten feee bread is optional for $2. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed, with kind and happy staff willing to help answer questions. Great outdoor seating for a quaint date and there is seating inside as well. read more

Disappointed today. The menu consists of several sandwiches available on wraps or bolos. I ordered the Spring Toast and my friend ordered the Hangover Special. My sunnyside eggs came dark on the bottom and raw on the top. I asked to have it remade and they offered to do them over easy. Okay, I would have preferred the sunny side up, but ok. The second sandwich came out after my friend was 3/4 through his. Unfortunately those eggs were also raw, but dark on the bottom. Both times servers explained the eggs to me, which I did not really need, I just wanted to be able to eat breakfast. It's especially a bummer when an egg sandwich is pricey and you end up not eating. read more

Although a bit pricey and small portions, the taste of Amy's is unbeatable. Best breakfast in providence area IMO. The breakfast sandwich with bacon spicy aoli and hash brown and greens is to die for. Their iced chai is also crazy good. Only problem is their closed mondays and tuesdays!!!!! I did pay 17$ for drink and sammy which is a bit much but still tasty of course. read more

Amy's place is definitely one of my favorite breakfast sandwiches in Providence. It's conveniently located and walking distance from downtown, surrounded by other restaurants and shops. They have the option to add hash browns to your breakfast sando (which I personally think is a game changer). I would recommend the hash it out sandwich! read more

This adorable yet hipster coffee shop was delicious. Staff was very friendly, menu choices were well thought out, and coffee was flavorful. My friend and I got the Hash it out. She ordered it as is, and I got it without bacon. It was nice because the woman who took our order suggested I get it with greens instead and it was very good. I've been here to this place a few times for brunch. I love the area--it's at the end of Wickenden Street. There's a ton of parking spots across the street behind Coffee Exchange building. So parking is no problem--even for Saturday/Sunday brunch. I have ordered the Vermonster and Hash it Out. Both are delicious, I especially love the aioli sauce that's in both of them. Truly gives it a flavor kick! There is seating inside and outside, but it is a very small cafe and it's usually crowded on weekends. Highly recommend going after the breakfast and brunch rush! Food takes awhile to get when it is busy--today, I waited for 20 minutes. However, it is totally worth it! read more

Rating from an out of state visitor here! I came here a few years ago because my wife went to school out here. This is her go-to spot. They did remodel the place so it has a bigger kitchen now. A bigger kitchen means a bigger menu! They have burger options now! She got the "lite and easy" which consists of egg whites, fresh fruit, and dry toast. I got the vermonster (special) and it consists of scramble eggs, hash brown patty, American cheese, and maple aioli in a wrap. Both were DELICIOUS. We also got a couple of tasty smoothies. Wife was super happy to be able to visit here again. I was happy she was happy and I had yummy goodness in my belly. This place is 5 stars (wife threatened me if I gave it anything less). She did the same for the rest of the people in line. She also gave us some recommendations, including the cinnamon bun - apparently they're so good kids cry when they sell out. I didn't intend to order anything with my drink, but I couldn't get the cinnamon bun out of my head so I ordered it along with my iced spiced chai latte. The hen (I think it's their logo) on the aprons of the employees are super cute. We did secure a table. The tables are close together to maximize the number of people who can sit down but I didn't mind. I love their art all around, mostly of birds which I am obsessed with. I love that they have a lot of natural lighting coming through their tall windows. I also like the navy blue and white theme they have going on. The chai latte was perfect. It was the right color (a dark tan), meaning the ratio of tea and milk was good and I could taste a lot of the spices. The cinnamon bun blew my expectations away. The second my teeth made. contact with the icing, it was a magical feeling. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it tasted like, but the closest I got was dulce de leche. It is truly unlike any other cinnamon bun I have ever had. The dough is soft and there is a good amount of cinnamon. It's also $4 which is not bad. I had a bite of their canelé, which apparently requires a lot of work to make. It was very moist, with a great caramelized finish. I am super excited to try their new weekend dinner menu, but also more of their all day menu items.

Aside from the high top, man, on the regular seats you're just sitting on a flat block of wood. McDonald's has more comfortable seating, and McDonald's intentionally makes the seating slightly uncomfortable so you don't just sit there forever, taking up a table. Anyway, it was alright. Every restaurant has its difficult days (and it's difficult customers!).
