My favorite place to go to for their spicy beef noodles (bun Bo hue ) the flavors was just there & not too spicy , meat are thin cut which I like it better than most places they meat are too thick cut. This is the only place I go to when I want Vietnamese food. I may have left a negative review when they first opened because the portions were a bit smaller than a lot of other Vietnamese restaurants but now I wish I can take that back. My friend who is extremely knowledgeable about restaurants told me that the owners take the time and care to cook their food from scratch so you can actually taste the difference. My favorite is their bone-in rib and fatty (yes, definitely choose the fatty) brisket slices--I can't exactly remember what it's called but that's the one I always get. This is my dose of collagen when I crave for it. It comes with a big chunk of meat on bone which is very satisfying. The broth is excellent with a deep Umami, and I never adjust the flavor other than add a tiny bit of spicy sauce. I tried most of what's on the menu but this is my favorite, my occasional "fix" that I need. The place is clean, bright, and I park at WholeFoods and walk over. I've only told my closest friends about this place and hope they don't get too busy. I hope they continue to deliver excellent quality foods at very reasonable prices. read more

The relatively small space echos and needs some sound dampening as we could easily hear hear the staff's conversation. We were one of the few customers having an early dinner, so we mostly had appetizers. We had the Banh Xeo Vietnamese crepe, Banh Beo Steam Rice Cakes, and the Banana Blossom Salad. For the first two we had to ask for the dipping sauce, Nuoc Cham, and the salad seemed a little overdressed. I went when this place first opened. I'm always weary of places that only have English on the menu and not the actual Vietnamese name of the dish. The place is brand new, gorgeous, and the service was on point. The dishes are a bit white washed if I'm going to be honest. If you want authentic Vietnamese, you can stick to the hole in the walls in Chinatown. If you care more about ambiance, vibe, and a safe location (since Chinatown is sketchy at night), then this is the place for you. We came during lunch at 11:30 so we beat the rush and got seated quite quickly! The restaurant is a smaller one but there are seats where you can see into the kitchen so that's pretty cool! Also the rest of the place has a very clean interior! I ended up getting the bone marrow pho with the boat bone marrow (slightly pricier than the scoop) and I will say this soup is QUITE rich so it's definitely more of a "have to be in the right mood" for me to order this and so I would give it a (8/10). But with this add-on the soup really takes on a whole new and deeper flavor! I also really like the noodles they use since I would say they are slightly thicker than the usual pho rice noodles and I think it elevates the dish a bit more for me. This is a fantastic place for some quality Bánh Mì. My wife and I ordered the Cuu Long II Banh MI, one with shrimp and the other with lemongrass chicken. Both were prepared very well and were absolutely tasty. The quality of the ingredients and the bread were noticeable and enjoyable. Also, we order the summer rolls and they did not disappoint. The vibes were great with a nice cool indoor experience, but felt like we were outdoors as well with the main doors opened. I forgot to snap a photo of the food because I was quite hungry, but the culinary presentation was clean and professional and the food pops of the nice white bowls and plates they use. Additionally, they have a good stock of different alcohols and wines to choose from. Where to begin...? I was so excited to try this restaurant after walking by it once before they opened. As soon as I saw the good reviews and pictures on Yelp, I woke my boyfriend up and hauled our butts over to Ward for dinner. An Di Dzo is presumably a more modern trendy pho restaurant in the heart of Ward. Next to the brand new Whole Foods and in the middle of all these luxury condos, it took the spot of the old Panda Express. Although it looks fancy, I had second thoughts about it after being so excited to eat there. Originally, I had wanted so badly to try to bone marrow pho because it looked SO good in the photos and that's what all the reviews were raving about. Unfortunately, they were out of bone marrow. The server said it was so popular, they always run out earlier in the day. Oh well, I did arrive about an hour or so before closing so that's understandable. I opted for the Bun Bo Hue (Spicy Beef Noodle Soup) while my boyfriend got the 2-Choice Pho with flank and tendon. The Bun Bo Hue was pretty good. The soup was flavorful and the noodles were cooked really well. In the menu (and in the pictures), it said it was supposed to come with banana blossoms but mine had none. Maybe they ran out again? It looked pretty empty without it. My boyfriend's pho on the other hand was bland. The soup had so little flavor he ended up having to dump whatever was left of the chili oil and sriracha in it to taste anything. Speaking of chili oil, there were two jars on our table. Both were empty. We asked the server if he could bring us some more and he grabbed one from another table and set it on ours. It was also empty lol. At this point we just gave up on asking and scraped up whatever was left of the bottom of the jar. The vegetables are also already added into the noodles and if you want any extras of ANYTHING, it's an extra charge. Service was ...interesting. I don't know if it was our server's first day as a server? Or if he should consider another career choice? The entire encounter was so awkward. Both my boyfriend and myself have worked as servers before for several years before we got full time jobs so we completely understand what it's like! When we walked in, he came over and pointed to a table by the door. "You can sit here... or anywhere really". Ok, we'll go sit in the back against the wall. He followed us with menus and asked if we had ever been here before. Nope it was our first time but I had looked at photos prior to arriving. He then asks us "do you want pho or rice". Uhh... I mean I haven't even taken a look at the menu yet but I have a pretty good idea of wanting the bone marrow pho? He looks at me and just turns and walks away. Talk about awkward. He then comes back, takes our order, brings us food, brings us an empty jar of chili oil and never comes back again until after we finish our food. We ask for containers and we get them and pack our leftovers up. At this point, he asks if we want our check. Yes please! He disappears and doesn't come back for a while. We are left sitting there for about 5 min until an older lady comes to check up on us. She was very nice and asked if our server brought us out check yet. No he didn't. She tells us she will let him know to bring our check out. Few more minutes go by and our server comes back out and asks if we got our check yet. No.... We didn't.... Mind you, there were only like 4 tables in the restaurant at this time. If you can't handle 4 tables or a normal conversation, then I'm sorry but you might want to consider a different position. Overall, our experience here was really not the greatest. Awkward encounter with the server, mediocre food, high prices if you want any extra of anything! ($2 for 5 extra lime slices... no thanks...) I would still like to try my bone marrow pho but maybe that will wait until a few months down the line when everything has been stabilized. read more

I understand about covid and maybe lack of staff in restaurants but from what we saw that's not the case. Went here because they are sister restaurant to Cuu Long 2 in Chinatown which I love and have frequently gone for lunch. Spring rolls, pho, vietnamese coffee, and lemongrass chicken I always enjoy there. That's the reason for me to check out this spot near the Ward Theater. So disappointed. Service almost nonexistent. I know they were young servers a young lady and boy. But they never asked any questions. They spoke so softly had them repeat several times. Told them first time there but never explained any of the supposed elevated versions of vietnamese dishes. There was only 2 other parties at the time but had to ask for water when was obviously empty. Dropped off food like they wish they were working elsewhere. Never cleared empty plates while we sat at such a small table. Never asked why my wife only took 2 bites out of her bahn mi. Food was bland. Spring roll filling was soft and mushy not like Cuu Longs at all. Bahn mi was missing flavor, it was lemongrass chicken but no taste of lemongrass at all. Chicken was dry. I had the vietnamese stew which is similar to beef stew but L&L would have been better and I don't go there for beef stew. Never going there again. I know of some people who went on Mother's Day and they must have had a sad day. Need to train the servers how to greet and service the customer. Need to vamp up that menu. Add some seasoning please. Sticking with Cuu Long 2 but I really think An Di Dzo needs to fix their issues soon or they going to start losing money for this new spot. read more

The banana flower salad was very good something different from other Vietnamese restaurant. This place definitely has potential, but currently feels like they're still working out the new-opening kinks and may be a little short staffed Our server made some great suggestions with navigating the more popular menu items. Unfortunately they seemed understaffed and it was difficult to get water refills or the servers attention throughout the meal. You can tell the quality of the food is here. But both the bone marrow pho and beef stew came cold, out almost room temperature. The pho also came out WAY before the stew, which wasn't really ideal when eating with two people. It also looks like they have a full bar in the works, so something to look forward to But with all that said, the manager was kind enough to offer a free dessert (banana tapioca, which was ono) for all the troubles. And the food tasted delicious. Never knew how good marrow can be in pho. Will definitely be back again for the quality food and to see if the service has improved. read more

Went out on a date and we were craving some pho. Made reservations and looked over the menu. We got to the restaurant and was greeted by how modern and sleek the ambiance is! Once seated, we ordered Banh Xeo as an appetizer (which was delicious!) and to our surprise we ordered two Capri Suns as our drinks! My date and I ordered the Bone Marrow & Eye Round Pho and Oxtail Pho, and both were very delicious and filling. This has got to be my new favorite vietnamese restaurant! Located on the bottom of the Ward Theaters in the old Panda Express location. Everything here is absolutely delicious and super reasonable considering the area it is in! I had their lemongrass chicken and pork vermicelli bun and man oh man was the chicken was so fragrant with the lemongrass herb and curry flavored! This is definitely a must have dish when you come here! Also, their banh xeo or vietnamese style crepe and spring rolls are the bomb for appetizers! I also highly recommend getting their homemade thai tea ice cream with almond cookies for dessert! So yummy! The sever greeted us and gave us two big menus to look at, and gave instructions on the QR code on the table . Service was not in the slower side, but the food and ambience made up the difference.. the prices were very reasonable, and I'm sure they will work out there kinks on service standpoint. This is a cute little shop with a nice ambience. We were promptly greeted and seated. We had the Vietnamese crepe, and Combo Pho. The crepe came with fresh veggies on the side, and had perfectly cooked shrimp and beef inside. I used the dragon sauce, and it added a perfect touch of spice. Not too spicy. The pho was flavorful and had a good amount of herbs. The meats were tender, and yummy. The broth was also very tasty. Very professional and nice service from the staff. Staff was nice, but I didn't really care much for the food. Maybe it's because I have a regular pho place, but the taste was just not what I associate with Pho. I got bone marrow pho(pretty unconventional but they said it was their signature), where you have to spoon in the marrow for a richer taste. When compared to my sister's pho which is their standard broth, it tasted roughly the same. Also the big bone made it a lot harder to eat the dish. As for the taste of the broth itself, it was underwhelming, a bland slightly sour soup. Topping were fine, if slightly smaller portion than what I am used to. With all this said, it could also be my unsophisticated palette that was the problem. I try to taste new pho shops and compare it to my favorite, so that bias is there. read more

I would go back for the food, the combination pho we had was very yummy! Summer roll and spring rolls were both good too. Presentation is nice and the atmosphere too. Three stars only because of the services that we have received. Understand that both of them are very young but not ackowleging customers and just let everyone stand by the door and keep walking pass without looking is not too welcoming, especially that there are available tables there. We had to get our own menu and ask to put in food order. We tried to pay of the bill with QR code but the bill was for another table. Asked for the empty plate to be removed while food came, but only food was dropped at the table and the boy left my hand with empty plate hanging and our table already ran out space... They are probably young and new to the job, but training and direction will definitely help! The eggs were over cooked and hard underneath, the steak chewy, fatty and way too sweet! The bone marrow was cold, dry and not spreadable. Definitely not going to order this again. Service was slow with a full house and only 1 person waiting on all the tables. Need more help up front. Luckily after a long time, 1 of the 4 guys in the kitchen came out to help customers. Where to even start, From over priced water down pho, to really rude servers, and an awful experience. I would not recommend this spot, you can probably find way more authentic and tastier pho elsewhere for a better price. The servers and even the bartender are both very rude, from the second we sat down they were treating us poorly. The atmosphere looks nice until you get cut on the chairs they sit you down in. Shame on me for wanting to give this place another chance. Thought maybe because they were in a new location and revamping their style, that the service would be better. Originally tried to place an order through Cuu Long II after jumping through many different avenues trying to place my order online, I was finally informed by calling them that that location downtown was under renovation. So seeing that this was the same owners, I thought I'd give it a try. Placed my order on their website and was told that it would be ready in 20 minutes. I selected curbside pick up thinking I would grab my food and go since I was on my lunch break. There is construction going on in the area so I called the restaurant to ask where the curbside pick up is. The guy who answered the phone answered me very quickly "park on the side and run in" and hung up on me. Did not give me a chance to say "I have curbside pick up, why do I need to walk in." So I pull on the side of this construction area, run out of my car to the restaurant only to discover they didn't even start prepping my order. They were scrambling through other ticket orders and found mine. Clearly it got buried in their mess of other tickets but the waiter tells me they are having computer problems. Yeah right. I was annoyed.The lady tells me "5 minutes" and the waiter tells me to wait in my car and he will bring it to me. Annoyed, I go and wait in my car, meanwhile the construction vehicles are trying to pass by me and they were annoyed because I was blocking their way but I was parked where they (the waiter) told me to park. I eventually get my food and takeoff as I'm already late getting back to the office and I'm hungry and annoyed. Food was just OK. Maybe if I wasn't so upset it would have tasted better. Lesson learned. I will not be returning to any Cuu Long location or affiliates anytime soon. read more
