Solid taco spot! High 4 stars! I wish they would have told em the tacos were huge! I would have ordered way yes. One taco is 5.00 but really you could make three tacos out of one! We def over ordered. They could have told us this. Oh well. We gave away 3 tacos to the homeless. So it went to a good cause. Food: the pork taco was real good. A lot of fat but good. The carne asada was different but good. The salsas were good. Tortillas come out of a bag. The real winner is the flautas. Wow. Those were amazing! Top notch. I would go back just for those. $17 for this. It was not it! I feel upset that I spent $17 on this meal. The asada did not taste like asada, I had to make sure it was beef and not pork. It was unseasoned and extremely greasy and chopped weirdly. Same with the al pastor. I was really upset about how the service was, they were really rude. They did give me a lot of Juiceless lemons, and half cooked tortillas. THIS WAS A DEFINITE SKIP. read more

Their tacos are on point, and this place is always busy for a reason. Get two tacos and you'll be plenty full, and match it up with a michelada a few stalls down and you will be set for an epic meal. read more

I have been coming to this place since I was maybe 10 years old. This place is amazing to say the least. Every dish in consistently good but you cant go wrong with an asada taco or milanesa torta (my personal faves). Ana Maria was so good. The food was very flavor forward. I got sopes and you could appreciate the quality of the meat, the freshness of the cilantro, and the heat of the salsa. My friend told me his burrito was the best he's ever had. The price is a little high at least relative to street food but the quality is apparent and worth the extra price. read more

Part of my somewhat annual jury duty routine. Check in with the court, immediately given a two and a half hour lunch, head on down to the Grand Central Market and order the pork Gordita from Ana Maria. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu but I don't like to deviate from my routine. Perfectly cooked pork, accompanied with a salad of lettuce, tomato, onion con crema. The price is far from what I remembered ($2.50) but what isn't? Still a bargain at $8. read more

After I walked around inside of GCM, I decided to try here. Slightly, tacos at Ana Maria are affordable. $5/each I ordered one POLLO(Chicken) and one AL PASTOR (marinated pork) . The service was quick and friendly. The chicken was bit dry and the pork was juicy. I was shocked to see how big the tacos. Tortillas were covered with filling and they gave me extra two Tortillas so that I can break down the filling. The lady was ordering a dish with fries. It was in the to go box and looked like small pillow. It's huge enough to share with 2-3 people. read more

Din din time! Came here on a Saturday evening after a big USC win. This place was amazing they don't skimp on the portions and the food had lots of flavor. Service was quick and it was a bit tough to find a table to eat since lots of the USC crowd came to eat. ANA MARIA'S is found in the main central corridor of Grand Central Market. They've been here for a long time and it's no wonder why. Something as simple as their Quesadilla tastes so very good. It doesn't hurt that it's super loaded with cheese and that whatever cheese they're putting in it is awesome. They put some salad on the side for me - nothing fancy, just some lettuce diced tomatoes some avocado and a creamy dressing on top. Horchata is very good and not watered down. read more

I had a Carnitas taco that was loaded with delicious Carnitas meat, hot sauce, and cheese with rice and beans on the side really quite delicious and filling I'll visiting grand Central market make sure to pay a visit to this place. Cafeteria-like Spanish food is on par with some of the historical food stalls here at the Grand Central Market. The food is hot and served quickly as the volume is usually maintained for lunch and evening hours. The menu isn't amazing, but you will find all the familiar dishes. Proteins are amazingly average and seasoned well. The salsas are above average and will go well with all of their dishes. The variety available is very good for what they have to offer. Portions are also of good value. This is a great alternative for a quick fix for your Spanish-American cuisine. Nothing amazing and no real surprises. read more

Tacos are my go to here! Can never go wrong! Service is quick and polite! The space at the Grand Central Market is an eating experience unlike any other in LA or Socal for that fact. Parked at 415 S Main Street a few blocks away for the first time to charge my car which was easy and fast... Great food while charging my car is a win win situation. read more

TLDR: super delicious flavorful and packed with meat burrito! Would highly recommend and I would definitely come back it was so good. The guy at the counter just kept piling on more and more meat! It honestly doesn't look like much from the storefront inside of grand central market. We had originally come here for one of the iconic breakfast spots but the line was unacceptably long for a hungry girl waiting for breakfast (at around 10am lol). I saw a bunch of construction workers on line at this joint and that signaled to me that this place would have some good food , and the construction workers are always right! For $13, I got a huge burrito stuffed with more meat than I thought would be possible to stuff in a burrito. The carne asada tacos are huge but they honestly lack flavor. One taco can turn into 4 easily but it's just a bunch of meat that kinda dry and flavorless. I did like the carnitas better so if I do go back I will be definitely getting the carnitas taco. read more

My first time to Grand Central Market and I'm glad I had a mission because honestly there are so many amazing food options here. But Ana Maria's is the place! Classic, no frills Mexican food. Ana Maria's is one of many Mexican food spots inside the Grand Central Market. What makes this place different is they keep it simple and mostly make classics likes burritos, tacos, gorditas, and tortas. I went with two adobada tacos, which were delicious! Two warmed four tortillas overloaded with spiced pork, covered in chopped onions, and topped with verde sauce. They were hard to pick up and eat, but after a few fork filled bites, the tacos were light enough pick up and dominate. Ana Marie's is located next to the PB&J sandwich station across from the second level platform eating area, near the east side of the market. Out of all of the Mexican choices I chose this one! I read the reviews and everyone raved about their tacos so I wanted to try it out for myself. My friend got the combination plate that comes with rice and beans and 2 tacos: al pastor and carne asada, and I got 2 tacos both al pastor. We didn't like the rice & beans. The $4 tacos were just...okay. Yes they do LOAD up the meat on the tacos. I got full before I could even finish 1 taco! You definitely get the most bang for your buck here. They're not shy on the seasoning and flavor either. Our only problem with the taco was that the meat was dry, like really dry. You expect taco meat to be juicy and tender but ours was just a boatload of dry meat. read more

Asked for a burrito assuming they would ask me what kind of meat I wanted etc. For them to jsut assume it was vegetarian. When I asked about the staff were rude and just laughed about it amongst themselves. I would of paid extra for them to just toss some chicken on there but they didn't want to do any corrective measures. Considering there's lots of other great options in grand central market, I would not recommend the high prices and attitude. Go to tacos tumbras if you want some good Mexican food read more

Hands down the best mexican place in the market! Service was fast, ordered 4 tacos, shredded beef, carne asada, chicken and carnitas. The asada was a little dry but the shredded beef was absolutely delicious. And each taco was so big that it was the portion of 2 in 1 tacos. So good we went back couple hours later for more tacos. I'm not sure if it's because i got it to go, but my carne asada and carnitas tacos were not as good as these reviews led me to believe. They get points for going crazy with the amount of meat, but it's not worth it if the meat isn't that good. It seemed like it maybe wasn't fresh. Ana Maria's is a booth in the center of Grand Central Market that competes with many of the other Mexican food booths in the market. The tacos were $4.50, containing about 2-3x the amount of meat of cheaper $2 tacos. Each taco even comes with an extra tortilla since there's so much meat piled up on the taco. 2 tacos will likely fill most people for a meal. The burrito was quite simple with a lot of rice and beans, in addition to your choice of meat. It was pretty bland, and I would rather get something else from the market. I was glad that this place, however, did sell Tamarindo, one of my favorite agua frescas. read more

Vegetarian pro tip: they don't advertise veggie tacos but ask and you shall receive. They are huge! Rice and beans and cheese and pico and onions and salsa and avocado. I've always walked past the Mexican places because they didn't show any veggie options. Burritos are my love language, that is one thing I am for sure of. Ana Maria's offers plenty of meat choices, carnitas, carne asada, chicken, and shredded beef to name a few. I chose to get the shredded beef burrito. They give you the choice of spicy or mild, I like it hot so of course I chose spicy. They were not selfish with their meat portions whatsoever, my burrito was loaded. It was also topped with rice, beans, hot sauce, and cilantro. It did fall apart fast/get soggy way too quick because of the amount of liquid from the beef (not 100% sure). It did not have as much flavoring as I had hoped for or as much spice. Next time I will opt for the carnitas. Parking: I paid a flat rate of $10 on a Saturday night at the lot next store. I drove around for a good 20 minutes and this was ultimately the cheapest and closest. read more

I've been to plenty of Dine LA restaurants and have never experienced this. The service wasn't necessarily bad, but it was very dismissive. No apology, no real explanation--they basically just brushed it off. Thankfully, the food saved the night! The Michelada oysters were TO DIE FOR--seriously one of the best oyster flavors I've ever had. We also had the short rib plate, which was delicious. The outdoor atmosphere and decor are really cute too. I would come back, but ONLY for those oysters--definitely not for the service.

The location that we went to is located in between Elysium DTLA and Perfumeria Starlux on E 8th St in downtown LA. There is only paid(?) street parking around the area that could be extremely difficult to find during work days. Because we couldn't snag a spot, my friends and I opted for takeout and didn't end up eating until about 30 minutes later. Despite the travel time, the tacos were still absolutely incredible--I can only imagine how spectacular it tastes fresh! My friends and I ordered the carne asada tacos, and my boyfriend opted for the cabeza. Before I even took a full bite, I tasted a piece of the loose carne asada and was blown away; it was perfectly cooked with a wonderful tenderness and deep smokiness. The use of a single, thin, handmade flour tortilla--rather than the standard double corn--was a total game-changer and exactly how I preferred my tacos. The salsas were equally impressive, offering fantastic flavor and a great kick. My boyfriend's cabeza taco was just as standout, featuring super-tender meat with a rich, savory profile. Wowowow! Between the exceptional meat quality, bold flavors, and great value, this is easily one of the best taco spots I've visited. It was graciously explained that you take an additional shot of rum and float it on top of the drink or mix in to make it extra boozy. The pina colada is top notch they hollow out a real pineapple to make the drink and it's the size of your face! The watermelon cocktail was delicious and there is also a mezcal option. Tasted like if a watermelon aqua Fresca was combined with a margarita, there is a hint of salt that brings out the fruit sweetness. We special ordered a bunch of different proteins and vegetables at half portions to make a feast: Aguachile- Light refreshing starter, kanpachi perfectly marinated and great for the summer heat. Crispy potato- Phenomenally done fingerling potatoes. Whipped beans- Carnitas on top made this dish. Fried chicken tacos- Found the chicken slightly on the dry side, if there was a creamy/thicker sauce would be even better... nothing wrong with flavor, good mild heat. I did enjoy the fresh shredded cabbage and carrots, reminded me of bahn mi. Empanadas- Loved the acidity of the sauce that cut through the fattiness of the ground meat. Light shell. Crispy Squash flower- Delicate crunch, like an angelic version of a jalapeno popper. Lamb chops- Definition of "treat-yourself" luxurious meat lollipops. Celery salad- Simple dish but the lemon flavor and tartness really helped break up the richness of other dishes. Churros- Light crunch and small, petite dessert. The thin caramel sauce is addicting. Fine dining, for those special occasions or if you just want to splurge for a morale boost highly recommend this restaurant. Valet parking or park across the street or around the corner in a lot for $5-10.
