FIVE workers watched her so the shortage of staff was not the issue. Getting utensils was a whole production in itself. We were staying at the Holiday Inn while I was on Military Drill. My wife and 4 young kids were with me. We went to the Anchor Bar and Grill and the service was beyond terrible. We have been here before with service that keeps on declining every time. We walked in the back and waited 10 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us even with 3 employees standing in front of us. We were told to go to the front. So I went up there and was told there was a 35 - 40 minute wait. The general manager was rude and very unprofessional. We made the mistake of not going Downtown. Definitely need to go to the first location. Attached to a Holiday Inn, the food was subpar. First round of wings were ice cold. Asked for a remake and the wings still came out cold. Overall taste was much better then any other wings I've tasted. Just wish it would have been steaming hot. Fettuccini Alfredo was by far the best thing we ordered which wasn't that great. The side salad was dead. Leaves were bruised and discolored. Didn't even attempt to taste and sent it back. They locked the doors to change over from breakfast to lunch even though Google showed they were open. An employee came out and told the multiple groups waiting that they would be opening at 11:30. We decided to wait the 15 minutes and when 11:30 came the doors still didn't open. I called the number listed and they stated they would open at 11:45. When they finally opened the doors, nobody greeted us at our table for another 15 minutes. There were 6 employees just standing around the bar talking to each other. Why not give the restaurant that birthed Buffalo chicken wings a shot, I said to myself. In hindsight I should have listened to the reviews. This place is extremely underwhelming. Upon arriving we were met with two hostesses who had very little personality and told us there was a 20 minute wait even through the place was pretty empty. They have a sign that says "please be patient" as they have a staffing shortage so we sat at the bar because there was no waiting. While waiting for the bartender to take our order and while waiting for our food I watched the front of house staff just sitting around chit chatting and on their phones. Seems like they should maybe get to work but that's just me. The bartender that served us was nice enough and got our food and drinks to us in a reasonable amount of time. I had to try the original Buffalo chicken wings and honestly they kinda sucked. The sauce was good enough but they seriously need to change their oil once in a while. It was clear that these were cooked in pretty old oil. I could smell that oil when leaving the restaurant. Between the service and the not so good wings, I would recommend skipping this place. Then to make things worse they charged us for everything. EVEN the 10pcs order we still didn't like. We had to complain again and only then did they take 1/2 off the basket price. not the entire bill. Just offered 1/2 off the 50 basket price. we only eaten about 10 of the 50. What a rip off!!!!! The wings were nothing special (Chipotle BBQ) $11 and we we're very disappointed with the sweet potato fries. $4 Pretty sure they were sitting in the back because when we got it, it was not warm at all. Suspicious uniform beef slices. The wings were good, but not the best I've had. The blue cheese dressing was not fresh, but their house brand in a little sealed tub, like Ken's. And, yes, overpriced. This review is for the Niagara Falls location. Stayed at the Holiday Inn and love that it is connected to the hotel. The wings were standard Anchor Bar, which aren't necessarily the best by many locals' standards but still check all the boxes for me, namely: large, crispy, and hot. But Anchor Bar also uses dedicated fryers for their wings which makes them gluten free and celiac-friendly which is a must for us. We are huge fans of buffalo wings and while visiting Niagara Falls found online that buffalo wings originated at Anchor Bar and there was one close to our hotel and playing the Rams game. Our waitress was great, but we were initially seated by the hostess with menus that had different pricing for wings and no drink menu. Not upset because technology sucks sometimes (We sat near the bar and witnessed this) but no acknowledgement from the staff or bar tender or apology. First pina Rita was good. Got the wings and roast beef sandwich. The wings were subpar and tasted like soaked wings watered down buffalo sauce. The roast beef sandwich was covered in salt and the aijou salty AF. Now Im a salt adder and I'm so thankful I didn't add salt. It was so salty I felt sick after. The fries and the anchor bar dip was all we enjoyed. The second pina Rita was like all pineapple juice and couldn't taste the tequila or rum. We were ready to leave to another bar but I went to the bathroom. I'm in a wheelchair and the soap was way beyond reach. While we waited for the check it was 9:26 and they started vacuuming by our table. We left pretty disturbed we paid $92 with tip for crappy food and service. But I wouldn't give it 0 stars because our waitress was nice. Needless to say, our short stay here felt crappy because of this experience but I guess our expectations were too high. The food and drinks are overpriced and the quality sucks. They were short on staff so outside service was unavailable. We placed an order to go and sat outside. Tai (the supervisor) was friendly, put our order in and had someone bring it outside to us. came here to taste the legendary buffalo wings. until we called the waiter, he did not come to us, we had to constantly call him. the waiter asked what kind of sauce we want to get for our wings, but he never brought it. so de we asked for water and the waiter asked if we wanted to add lime, we agreed. but water was not brought to us either, and only after we clarified about our water, they brought us water with lemon.
