So I went to this restaurant without reading any previous Yelp reviews. I don't like to leave unfavorable reviews but I have no choice. The service was good because the waiter delivered 4 out of 5 drinks. I had to ask for the 5th drink, which was for my toddler For the food we started with an order of mozzarella bites. They were overdone. The mozzarella was coming out so the bites merged together. You had to hold the bite down to stick a fork in it. We ordered 25 lemon pepper bone-in wings. They were ok. We also ordered 5 Buffalo lemon pepper bone-in wings. They were great! The kids chicken tenders were overdone and had black pieces from the oil. I ordered the Buffalo chicken Mac and cheese. Unfortunately the pic says it all, it was sad. The pasta was over cooked and clumped together. The cheese sauce had no flavor. The chicken bites did have a nice flavor but required a knife to cut them. French fries were great and so was the draft beer and LIT. read more

We met some friends at anchor bar two nights ago. We had never been there before but will certainly be back. The pizza and wings are great but our server, Alicia, is the main reason for the 5 star rating. She was very attentive, gave great recommendations and had a very engaging personality. The place is nice and clean and the staff was nice. The food is always good. I was disappointed in my Michelada. It did not look like the picture they advertise. But it was still good. Finally went here for lunch today and we were NOT disappointed. From the moment we were greeted at the door, we had amazing service from every employee that walked by. They had $5 mimosas today, so of course, that's what I had. We also ordered the sampler platter, Mac and cheese, 5 medium wings and 5 hot wings. Everything was super hot and fresh. Have heard about this place from some friends who happen to be locals. Wanted to give it a try and was excited for a nice wings dinner with my wife. Went on a busy night but the atmosphere way excellent, though the hostess was a more distracted on her cell phone. Took about 10 minutes until she noticed and sat us. Considering I've eaten at the original location in Buffalo (#1), it admittedly feels strange (yet exciting) to have the option to do so in San Antonio. It is a very different feel but is still a very solid choice for some serious comfort food. First off, this place is massive. It really doesn't look that big from the outside but there is ample seating and different party rooms. The parking is also abundant and they have a playground right out front for the youngins. This is a place where I would definitely consider hosting a large gathering (#2). I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by the food. Everything I ate was a gut bomb, but in the best way. Everything from the burgers, mac and cheese, tater tots, loaded appetizers, and the wings were quite tasty. The portions are excellent and this would be an ideal spot for a very big eater. The real unfortunate thing is there is a wing shortage, and as a result the prices were a bit on the high side. Nothing's cheap during the pandemic but the quality of the food doesn't necessarily always coincide with the price. Service is ok but not phenomenal. In dining service seems to be the way to go, even if I'm not entirely sure if the staff is fully masked up. Phone manners were a little suspect in the wait for my take out was a lot longer than I anticipated. Visited this past Thursday on St Patty's day around 5:30. Service has definitely gone downhill. The hostess need to be trained to smile and be polite to customers. We weren't greeted when we first walked in. Both of them didn't look up to say anything. We hung out waiting to check in (they weren't attending any customers). They finally checked us in and we requested outside. 5 minutes later, the older hostess walks us outside and tried to seat us on the table under the trees (she said three words the entire time). They were all dusty, dirty, and rusted. Why would she try to seat us there when no one else was sitting in the area and there were other tables available?! We requested a different table. Inside you will find a very cavernous sports bar type atmosphere, lots of big tables and lots of TVs. I've been here a few times and every time has been delightful. So the question is, is this a bar with food or a restaurant with a bar? If it's a bar with food it's not bad and deserves at least three stars but if it's the opposite I'm sticking with the two stars. Service first, so there were 23 ppl on the floor, I literally counted bc the staff far outnumbered the patrons. I thought it was funny. But our server Giana was wonderful. She is new but works hard and doing a great job! Kudos to her! Now the food, nearly every item was fried and every fried item was right on the edge of burned. I would pass on the sampler. It's all fried cheese in different forms. The anchor dip was a hit but very very rich. The Mac n cheese burger was superrrr dry all the way around. My 16 y/o son, who eats everyyyythinggg, said the most flavorful part of it was the lettuce...sheesh. But I do have to say the wings were crispy. They were dry, not saucy at all, but I kinda like them that way so they don't get soggy. A soggy wing is the worst thing ever. But the wings were good. For dessert, skip the churros. It's three half churros (burned) with no dipping sauce. The brownie looked more like a cake than a brownie but tbh it wasn't bad. A decent sports bar. It's overrun by Bills and Bears fans on Sunday during football season, and it's hard to get a table if you have a later game.
