    Crab Artichoke Dip
    Eric I.

Friendly service and lots of choices for Happy Hour. We had crab dip with bread, oysters Rockefeller, calamari, fish tacos, and crème brûlée. Everything tasted good. The crap dip was rich and nicely seasoned and you could tell there was crab meat there. Not enough bread for the dip, but it also kept us from stuffing ourselves on bread! I don't care for raw oysters, but the cooked Rockefeller oysters were good. Calamari was pretty typical, but not in bad way - just what you'd expect and met standards. The fish tacos had a good portion of breaded fish as well as avocado, tomatoes, cabbage and some delicious creamy sauce. The crème brûlée was rich, so good to share and the top was warm and freshly browned. All in all, a very pleasant dining experience with good food and a nice atmosphere. We'd definitely come back again.

We went to their San Jose location a couple years ago, and I loved their cioppino. We stopped by this location on Friday to try their happy hour, and had a very enjoyable meal. They had a lovely holiday vibe inside with Christmas decorations and Christmas music. It's not crowded at all for a Friday evening. Service was friendly. We started with a draft beer and a glass of wine, and then ordered a few things off their happy hour menu. My favorite was their artichoke dip. It was hot, creamy and tasty with a good amount of crab meat. Their oyster Rockefeller was fresh and very cheesy; the fish taco was flavorful and slightly spicy; the batter for the calamari was light and crispy. We ended the evening with a crème brûlée, which was rich and not too sweet. Would come back and try other items off their regular menu.

Stopped here on our way back from San Jose (after a Yelp search for restaurants in Saratoga). The food was great and the service was very attentive (if not a bit overly enthusiastic!). The ambiance is nothing special - not even any music. But it gets busy and loud, so maybe that's on purpose. They have beer and wine. We had fish and chips and shrimp and chips, and both were great. Only 6 shrimp but the fish was way too much to eat in one sitting. For dessert we split the key lime pie. It was adequate but not tart or very lime-y. Not BAD, but just okay. Would definitely return if we're in the area! The menu was more extensive than we expected (we just wanted fish and chips), and the things our neighboring diners were eating looked great!

Our favorite place to eat lately, fresh seafood with a great ice tea is tops. The new Zealand sauvignon blanc is good too with a huge slab of grilled salmon over Caesar can't beat that. The best clam chowder is here bc it's buttery and smooth the clams have no grit. Better than Sam's chowder (too much salty pancetta), Barbara's (too much potato), Miramar would be second. I went again and we enjoyed the angel hair pasta with big shrimps and the Prosecco was perfect.

I loved the clam chowder here! Very creamy, they obviously use cream in their chowder and it's delicious!

Sandwich had too much Mayonnaise, made us a bit sick. Food seemed a bit greasy. Restaurant was nice and clean.

The Halibut fish and chips were amazing. Lightly battered and fried. Manaybe the best I've ever had.

What can I say about The Anchors Team, Carlos and their amazing gracious care for their guests?…read more Nothing but PURE perfection! Tonight was my first time to the Saratoga location. We live in Downtown San Jose and remember when Anchors opened at San Pedro Square. We so love that place. Great Food and perfect service. Carlos was working there and was always so pleasant and made sure we were always well taken care of. Life gets in the way so we spent less time out at San Pedro so the last few times we went we went to get our favorite seafood we did not see Carlos. A few months ago I was caring for a client's pups and we needed dinner. So my husband Wayne went into Saratoga to go to Anchors to pick up some dinner for us. He gave me the best news that Carlos was at the Saratoga location. I was so excited because I had missed seeing "our friend". He always made us feel some comfortable. Wayne wanted to go to Anchors Saratoga to celebrate his birthday tonight! Who am I to say no? When we walked thru the door I was so happy to see Carlos ! He welcomed us with such a warm smile and was attentive to every detail including welcoming Wayne by his name! We had the most delicious calamari appetizer I have ever had followed by Creamy Lemon Garlic Seafood Pasta - TOTAL PERFECTION!!!!!!! *side note! They have one of the best Happy Hours we have experienced. We knew we were more than just "customers". We were welcomed as "returning friends". We recommend this AMAZING restaurant for PERFECT food and MORE THAN PERFECT Customer relations! This is a re-review from M Nunez...

Foods arrived promptly and we were surprised to see a many-piece fish dish served. Upon inquiry, the server mistook "Fish & Chips Combo Family Meal" with "Fish & Chips Family Meal". This meant we missed scallops, shrimps, and oysters and got just fish. She explained that what was served was lower in price, that did not impressed us. We ended up ordering another shrimp appetizer and bagged the extra fish. The server did not make any remedial offers. Just "oh well, that's what I wrote, moved on, decide what to do." That's a bit irking. As for the foods, they were pretty good. Seasoning was on the light side, and that's exactly how we liked it. Clam chowder was quite creamy. Tasty too, but you need to like creamy clam chowder first. There were two Louie Salad. Shrimp one was considerably less expensive than crab. Make sure to order the right one. But we're well made and delicious. I won't mind coming back, but probably not out of my way to do so.

The staff brought the menu, we said it was our first time here, how do you order. I think he was either new or just shy but he didn't explain much how to order, other than I asking questions. My coworker and I ordered their 2 lbs; 1lb shrimp, half clams, half calamari with a free side of Corn. In a bag/plate, it already includes corn and potatoes. We asked how many corn there was, he said there was ONE. When the plate came, there was 4. We could of ordered something else for the side if it was clearer. I wish there was more clearer instructions on ingredients when we already said it was our first time dining in. Also there was only ONE single potato. My coworker also ordered a side of Garlic noodles. Everything was super delicious. It was the amount of spicy mild that we like. The environment was busy, but clean. Parking was easy to find. Just more explaining about what you offer, where the gloves are to eat, rather than you just pass us this tray of stuff. A need of more customer service would had been nicer.
