Such a cute thai restaurant. They have the best curries. My favorites are the pumpkin curry with chicken. It's a red curry with pumpkin, sweet basil, bell pepper, and baby corn. The presentation is beautiful. and it is delicious. My most favorite is the amazingly flavorful panang nur. Mild red thick curry in a coconut milk with carrot, bell pepper, sweet basil, and tender beef cube. I always add potatoes for an extra $3.00. This is hands down my favorite panang nur in San Ramon. The curry is so good and the beef cube is perfectly tender. My Nana had the yellow currry with chicken. He orders it everytime we dine here. He loves it. For drinks I had a Sprite (no free refills) and my Nana had a Singha beer. Service is always friendly and attentive. I'll be returning :) Note: Dinner entrees don't include rice. We were visiting the area and looking for Pho but this Thai place came up on Yelp Lottery Spin so we decided to give it a try as it was fairly well reviewed. It was good. We ordered the Chicken & Tofu Pad Thai (I wanted to order it with Shrimp but it was $5 extra so I opted out this time), Pineapple Fried Rice, side of coconut rice, and the Seafood Champion. All time rating is 4/5 for the dishes. Service was also 4/5. Bathroom was wide, spacious, and clean. Food was decent but average in our experience; nothing special. We usually do take outs from the San Ramon location which are really good. We have dined in a couple of times and that has been a fabulous experience. The pineapple fried rice is a marvel. They had sizzling fish plate which is a rare find. The fish was fresh and the sauce was delicious. Not just the food but the service is very good too. We were 5 of us and they gave us a table of 4. After telling them though they were able to accommodate our request and we could sit comfortably. Everything we asked for was given to us with a smile even though it was almost end of day. Food came out 10ish minutes. Offerings: curries, noodle soup, fried rice, noodles, entrees, desserts, salads, apps, seafood, secret menu.. Eats: Papaya salad (10.95) -a mix of shredded papaya, carrots, romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, green beans, garlic, crushed peanuts in Thai dressing. -everything tasted fresh....no spicy surprises. Gang Jurd (14.95) combo soup -came out in a special pot used to keep soup hot. no sterno was lit underneath. No flames seen. -broth had tastes of tartness and sweet. flavors from 3 shrimps, onions, grounded pork balls, tofu, spinach, cabbage, green onions boiled together. *4ish stars. Nothing extraordinary. Where do I even begin? I've been a loyal customer for years, regularly visiting the Danville location, which was originally called Similan Thai. They also have another location called Andaman Thai, and now both locations proudly share the name Andaman Thai. This is, without a doubt, the best Thai food I've ever had. This is our go to spot for Thai food. We enjoy their beef panang and have to say they have the best one. The meet is tender like a stew when most places use strips of beef. The panang curry is flavorful and we also get it mild spice but still has a good kick. Their chicken pad Thai is really good too. I also enjoy their pumpkin curry. I always order the lychee ice tea also. A bit sweet but it's refreshing. The workers are super nice and friendly and always smile. After a long day at work we decided to grab dinner and we went to Andaman Thai for the first time. We were seated inside after adding our name to the waitlist and waited about 10 minutes. Our server came and took our appetizer order. For the main course we wanted to try two dishes but asked if we could substitute the chicken for shrimp instead and that we were willing to pay extra. We were told NO by Carlos the waiter, that we could not substitute the chicken for shrimp. He was strictly looking at his portable device and never bothered to ask the kitchen crew if a substitution was OK or not. Carlos did not bring our food to the table when it was ready and did not come to check on us. Another waiter came by to refill our teas and asked if everything was good. I asked the waiter who brought over the tea about the substitution of shrimp instead of chicken and he said that sure they can do that and that Carlos (our waiter) had given us the wrong information before. I left hungry and disappointed because I didn't order the dish I wanted and most likely will never go back to this place. The ambience was good, we just had bad luck with a bad waiter who didn't know much about substitution options. Came here to celebrate my business launch. Everything was yummy! Got the hot tea jasmine and Thai iced tea! Both were good. Roti with yellow curry appetizer: 10/10 mmmmmm mmmmm!!!! Soooo good! Not bad but not the best thing ever. but we got it mainly as the rice for the red curry so it didn't matter too much! Maybe I'll try the basil fried rice next! Overall I think I just found my new favorite Thai place in the tri valley area! Be careful when you tell them to "add" something to your plate, such as "add vegetables." I ordered for pick-up a tofu dish and paid an extral $3.00 for them to "add" veggies. When I got home, the plate was 70% veggies and 30% tofu. Disappointed. I'll never "add" anything again, and the next few times I order won't leave a tip to make-up for what feels like a scam. read more

Andaman Thai was a place I was really excited to try. The food seemed good, the ambiance looked nice, and all around glowing reviews convinced me to try this place. The service was nice and friendly, and I ordered snd waited... until i felt something bump my leg. I look down, and found a roach the size of my thumb on my leg. I yelp, try to hit it off- but I was getting scared. My boyfriend hit it off me on the ground and it flew away. Upon looking down we found another one dead on the ground at my feet. Believe it or not- I am fine with most bugs. They don't bother me too much. But roaches are where I draw the line. We didn't stay, just paid for the food and left. I'm torn writing this review. The food tasted excellent. The inside was completely packed with an hour wait....so we sat outside. It was a hot summer night but still a chill factor. We asked if we could get the heaters on outside, but they never came out to do it. I got serious food poisoning...hospital visit and missed 2 days of work. The curry to this spot is delicious. We mixed the pumpkin curry with rice at home for dinner and it was delicious. Good little kick too! The Veges here are on point. Delicious. My only complaint is the meet. The beef to the beef and broccoli dish and the chicken in our pad se was just dry. The amazing flavors masked made up for it but the dish could have been a killer if the protein was not dry. The coconut rice was different. It came with this coconut paste on top. We mixed it and it was pretty good. All in all, it was a decent spot. Everything plus tip was a little over $100 bucks but that seems like the norm now a days. We drove a circle or two to find this spot. The restaurant is located in the back of the strip mall (kind of behind Trader Joe's). It is located by "my gym." Look for that since it has a big sign and it's the easiest thing to spot when you are moving. The service was good. It was a 25 minute wait but they will text you when it's almost time. Cute family atmosphere. We opted to sit outside because we had our dog with us so I wasn't able to see the interior but they have a nice little patio and also heat lamps to make it cozy. The staff here are super friendly. It was my first time and they made recommendations based on what is popular and based on what they personally liked. I chose the panang curry and my partner chose the walnut chicken dish and we opted for the papaya salad. The salad was more sour than I am used to and it didn't have the chili I'm used to seeing. The chicken dish was a large portion and they fry little bits of chicken to make it crispy and sweet, it came with onion mushrooms and corn. The panang curry cake with tender larger chunks of beef and it was so creamy and delicious. Don't forget to ask them for the trio of chili if you like your food with a kick. We ended our meal with the mango sticky rice which was fantastic. I love sticky rice cause of its chewy consistency. Overall I'd definitely come back, friendly service coupled with solid food and it always feels good to support a small business. Next time I want to try the noodles! read more

The food was good, I wouldn't say the most innovative or memorable fare, but for standard Thai, it works. They offer lunch and dinner time portions & prices. For the price, portions were big and the food tasted fresh, so I'd say there is value here. Service was a bit slow, but again, we were a larger group than normal and on a little bit of a time crunch. My wife and I love having a date night here -- mostly because the food, ambiance, and that Trader Joe's is right around the corner. I personally love the ambiance here. The dark ceiling and the warm temperature lighting gives this place a pretty fancy feeling. It's also very small, maybe 10 tables, so it feels intimate. The shrimp pancake is a must for the appetizer. The crispy texture along with the sauce really amplifies the shrimp. The sauce is so good that we always keep it for a dipping sauce for whatever entree we choose. For entrees, I always go back and forth with the green curry chicken and the peppercorn beef. The green curry of course is delicious but you can pretty much get that anyway. Get the peppercorn beef if you're really looking for something new and delightful. read more

Their lunch options are quite reasonably priced with a standard array of Thai dish options. My main go to is the Yellow Curry Chicken though I've had many other dishes here. For the area and clientele, this place serves up pretty decent food...however, if you want something truly authentic, like a "Thai hot" spice level dish, this is probably not the place for you. Today was my 3rd time here. This is probably my favorite Thai restaurant in the Tri Valley. Flavors are well balanced in many dishes from their pad see ew (made with gai lan instead of broccoli) to their chicken tom kha soup (my absolute favorite here).
