They continuously walked around checking in on us. Super refreshing (5 stars) Steamed Pork and Cabbage - Super soft, loosely-packed meat and thin, wheat flour wrappers. They were juicy, and taste even better with a dip in dark vinegar (4 stars). Boiled Chili Oil Pork Wonton - Tasty and not super-spicy with the same, loosely-packed pork filling. In hindsight I should have gotten another round of pork and cabbage dumplings since there is quite a bit of chili oil and sesame paste added. (4 stars) Special Bone Broth Noodle Soup - This is a pretty light, savory and milky bone broth with thinly sliced beef shank that was super soft. White, slippery 1-cm wide noodles. I am not a huge fan of water chestnuts and they were in the suimai and the spicy wontons so they werent my favorite but if you don't mind them they would taste decent. There is also an M Dumpling in Fremont but we have not visited, so we were excited to see this new restaurant open. The interior was not very big but it is spacious, and also a comfortable space to meet, chat, and eat together. We noticed many customers were families when we visited on a week night. Also ample parking! We ordered the house special bone broth noodle soup, the original pork soup dumplings, the steamed sweet corn and chicken dumplings, and the steamed veggie dumplings. The noodles were fresh, and while the broth did not particularly standout, it was comfort food. Noodles also came with baby bok choy and beef shank. We enjoyed all our dumplings-the skin was not too thick-malleable while the filling and broth inside was flavorful. I also wanted to try the apple delight but it was not available. Servers were polite and responsive, and timing for food to be served was reasonable. Today is Father's Day, so my partner got to pick where we dined. He chose M Dumpling, and it was our first visit there. Walking in, the whole restaurant felt fresh and new. As we took our seats, we noticed a thin film of food on the table. I grabbed a sanitizer wipe, and to our surprise, reddish-orange chili oil appeared on the wipe, which was hilarious because we couldn't see it with our naked eyes! We ordered the green onion pancakes, green beans, red oil, and sesame ravioli, xiao long bao, bone, broth, noodle soup, and custard buns. The crispy fried shallots and garlic pieces enhanced the flavor of the sauteed green beans. I think the green beans were my favorite dish tonight. The red oil and sesame ravioli didn't taste like anything until I had my third, which had a sesame flavor; the others didn't. Then it made sense that the first two dumplings did not have that brown sauce, which I now know was the sesame sauce. For the XLBs, you have to request ginger and hot chili oil, which isn't really hot because they don't automatically give it to you. The custard buns were grainy, which wasn't quite right, but at least they were tasty. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. Our waiter was super attentive, friendly and helpful. Found this new spot on Yelp and decided to give it a try for lunch on Saturday. Since just two of us, we ordered one appetizer, one order of Xiao Long Bao, and a pork belly over noodles. All three items tasted pretty good. The Xiao Long Bao would be even better if there is more soup in the dumplings. The rainbow salad sesame sauce was good but need a bit more flavor, but that's OK. You can add additional soy sauce or chili sauce as needed. As it was new, it was quite clean. There is this five star hotel type music playing in the background, giving it a very relaxed atmosphere. The ambiance was also nice, with a newly renovated interior and a creative accent wall made of stacked steam baskets that gave the restaurant some character. Service, however, was slow and felt a bit disorganized, which makes me think they're still working through the kinks of being a newer establishment. Unfortunately, our order was messed up multiple times. We originally ordered the pork and cabbage steamed dumplings, but the waiter forgot to put them in entirely. We also ordered the House Special Stir-Fry Noodles to go, but instead received minced pork noodles. To be fair, they did try to correct the mistakes, so I didn't want to be overly harsh at first. But in the end, the order was still botched again. The waiter had even repeated the dumpling order back to us correctly when taking it. English may have been his second language, but my mother -- who is fluent in Mandarin -- also placed the order in Mandarin, and somehow the dumplings were still wrong. All teens, perhaps local, eager to please. Think I had 4 different servers come by to ask if I needed anything. Modern and sleek atmosphere with comfy, padded banquette seating along the walls. Nice upgraded interior except it lacked softer surfaces. Should add dampening material to absorb some of the racket. Lounge music was loud in an attempt to mask all the noise. Unfortunately, turning up the volume undermined any soothing qualities of the music and just added to the din. Limited menu for soft opening. Tried their wonton soup and veggie eggrolls. One thing that needs work, the eggroll filling was oddly mushy. Also of note, they close for a break between 3-5 pm. Otherwise, great potential. We were sad to see King Palace close but pleasantly surprised to see a dumpling place open in its place. They did a nice job modernizing the interior though it was a bit too cold when we went. Service was fast and friendly. We ordered what we normally order in dumpling restaurants which was pork XLB (7/10) crab XLB (7/10), fried rice (10/10) and cucumbers (5/10). I did not realize that M Dumpling has been open the last 2 months after King Palace closed months ago. My nephew and I had dinner here tonight and I really enjoyed the food. I believe we had the chicken soup dumplings, pork soup dumplings, and the minced dry pork noodles. The food came out pretty quick (there was no rush or crowd tonight) and everything tasted great. Service was quick and the waitress was super friendly. I'm not a big dumpling guy but they were really good. The noodles and pork dish was yummy and they give you some chili sauce and other sauces for the dumplings. Considering how close M Dumpling is to my house, I suspect I will be back frequently to try their other dishes! Recommended :) read more
