I'm sitting here staring at my empty cup and wishing there's an Andante closer to me.. I was in jewelry district early this morning and was in dire need of some caffeine. Andante was nearby and in my bookmarks, so we walked over. The store is very small, no seating except for a few chairs right outside. Definitely a grab and go spot. There was one barista doing everything and boy was he hustling hard! I ordered the andante (somehow still in my cream top phase) and my fiance got Ethiopia pour over. Prices were exceptional - to the point where we both agreed that their price for a pour over is significantly lower than a lot of other roasters out there. My drink was smooth, creamy, and could really taste the maple syrup come through from the sweet cold brew. Wish I got a sip of the pour over before someone inhaled theirs, but he did say he liked this coffee better than Kumquat! gasp. One of my favorite coffee shops we've visited recently. Kinda wish we grabbed a bag of beans too.. but will definitely be back! read more

I work across the street from Andante, so I'm here pretty often -- "The Andante" is my fave, it's cold brew with cream top, pink salt & cacao powder. It's smooth, not too acidic, perfect sweetness and always hits the spot when I need a pick-me-up. Place is small but has a chill vibe. Friendly staff :) Super convenient location for me, and the quality has been consistent every time. Definitely one of my go-to coffee spots in DTLA. read more

Tried the Spanish latte and it was amazing -- perfectly sweet, smooth, and full of flavor without being overpowering. I also ordered the matcha latte and it was great as well. You can really taste the quality, and both drinks were very well balanced. On top of that, the customer service was excellent. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience even better. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to! Parking in the area is a big downside it is worth stopping by and checking them out. read more

Andante is pretty close to where I was staying in downtown LA, so I stopped by for an afternoon coffee earlier this week. When I arrived, the door was hard to open (seemingly locked) and no one was at the coffee bar. Fortunately, after several seconds of trying to open the door, the barista came to open it for me. SPANISH LATTE - 6 I got this iced and less sweet. While the sweetness level was fine, I didn't like the weird after taste that came with every sip. The espresso flavor was fine, but unfortunately, this drink wasn't for me. Overall, the barista wasn't the most friendly, and it seemed like he would rather be anywhere but be at the cafe. I get it, I'm not always feeling my best at work, but the curt service and mediocre latte isn't convincing me to give Andante another chance. read more

We intended to go to Mai Tea two doors down but they have the oddest hours. We had passed right by and my friend commented on how he hadn't had a good cup of coffee in a while so we pivoted. I walked in and saw the menu and said "I've definitely seen this place on Instagram before." Their menu is pretty customizable and there are some elevated versions of classic drinks. I got an iced latte, and the latte was kind of milky and didn't have a particularly strong flavor profile. My friend got a pastry but it was dry and not heated enough so I'd pass on that. read more

Such a great find right down the street from where I live! It's a little smaller but there can definitely be a line at times. The owner Is great at helping with suggestions. For our first order here, we got the iced Spanish latte and the lavender honey latte with almond milk. Both can be a little sweet on their own, but the owner suggested almond milk to lessen the sweetness a bit and man, this has been our go to coffee spot and order every Saturday since we moved into the area. They offer dog treats for our furry friends and it's just a generally great place all around. Highly recommended! read more

I've been here a few times during my walks downtown and fell in love with the Spanish latte. I definitely recommend if you want a coffee that is not too sweet, still has a coffee taste, and has a slight cinnamon flavor. Typically anything with cinnamon can be too overpowering, but this is perfect. I order my coffee iced and with regular milk. The service is always quick and welcoming. This coffee shop is small and cute. I love how this shop is a little hole in the wall spot in DTLA. After enjoying a coffee you can walk down a few blocks more to target, Sephora, Nordstrom rack, H&M, and Zara. Whole Foods is next door and places to eat are near by as well. read more

Great coffee shop in a place saturated with okay coffee! I just moved into the area and have been trying to give all the local spots a try, and this so far is my favorite in the neighborhood! The coffee and teas are both great, and they have relatively quick service for such a small shop. They sell great local pastries as well! I would highly recommend the Spanish Latte. I've come back twice just to get it! Bonus points for offering any drink on the menu for free if you buy a bag of coffee!!! Don't go to a large chain like Starbucks or Philz when you can support a smaller shop and pay the same price for way better coffee! read more

This is hands down my favorite coffee in LA. But it's not just about the coffee -- this place is a whole vibe, a little community where regulars recognize each other and share a smile. The outdoor seating is super cozy -- perfect for slowing down, people-watching, and savoring a hot oat milk latte with a chocolate pastry (which, by the way, are amazing -- but get there early, they sell out fast!). Upon arrival, I was greeted by a beautiful, wiggly collie who made my day before I even got my coffee. The owner (I assume) was just as lovely--we shared a few kind words about our dogs, which meant a lot as I recently lost mine of 13 years. That small moment of connection made this visit even more special. The coffee was delicious--not overly sweet, perfectly balanced. If you prefer a stronger latte, I'd recommend adding an extra shot. My office is down the street from this cute outpost. It's literally a one man shop. The store itself is pretty small and can't fit more than a handful of customers inside. However, they have two benches outside and every time I've come by, there's always locals with their dogs! So I meet all the neighborhood dogs while waiting for my coffee. They also sell beans and will grind it for you. I usually just get an iced vanilla latte. They have alternate milk options too.
