Our server Travis is reminiscent of when waiters elevated their craft to an art form explaining all of the intricacies of the food and preparation. The have an Andre sauce at the table in a silver gravy boat,a secret recipe from the owners time in New York that patrons use as a steak condiment as well as a spicy salad dressing. Prices are high but this is Naples so that's expected...Salads are large so the restaurant splits the salad for you and puts toppings on the side. Never seen that before but it was a nice touch. The salad was very fresh, the tomatoes were juicy and the bacon tasted like they just made it . This is is the kind of place you remember your grandparents taking you as a kid where the food was so good and you couldn't wait to go back. This is what I would call casual fine dining as we went in jeans and it was fine. Steaks are served on a sizzling platter, seasoned only with salt, pepper and butter. It has to do with the aging process and the grade of meat that makes it so special.All sides are very large enough to split...They bring the filet out on a sizzling plate and it's sliced and they serve it to you. Quite impressive.It is so good it melts in your mouth.This place is the real deal, and it's one of the best steaks I have ever eaten hands down. I would add, order more well done than you normally would as their preparation, causes steak to come out more rare. I normally get medium rare but a medium steak was perfect. Another great night at Andre's. We sat in the lounge and it was perfect. My wife had a half wedge salad and I had a half tomato and onion w/ Andre's sauce. My Medium rare steak for one was cooked perfectly and large enough for dinner at home the next day. My wife's Salmon was also done to a tee and also enough for another meal. Travis was our server. He could not have been more helpful and professional. The bill was very reasonable and much less than other "high end" cookie cutter steak houses. read more

Read the real reviews of Luger's and if you like that, you apparently don't understand good steak. Luger's has a very bad rep in NYC over the past 5+ years. Finally got here! I now no longer need to crave Peter Lugers in Brooklyn as I dined there many years when living in New York. This is the closest to the Brooklyn landmark. We had 6:00 o'clock reservations (seated at 5:45) and a lot of tables were open. By 6:30, the room filled quickly. Initially greeted by our server, LUKE who was the best. Very personable, professional, funny and engaging. Makes a great difference and thanks again Luke. Initially served warm onion rolls when seated. My wife had the side house salad and I had the half order (for one) of Sliced Tomato's and Onions as it says on the menu, to be used with their "signature steak sauce" that's on the table. Did not use the Bleu cheese crumbles it came with. This is important. The steak sauce is not for the steak. You'll ruin the taste of doing that. As noted on the menu, it's for the tomatoes and onions. Pour it on!!! We ordered the PORTERHOUSE for two. (can easily be shared by three) We took almost half home afterwards. A very generous portion ($86) worth every penny! It was reminiscent of what we always had in New York. PHENOMENAL steak! Cooked to perfection. Can still cook on the very hot plate if needed. The sides we ordered were the creamed spinach, which was great and the German fried potato platter for two, which was excellent. (Took the rest home) What also looked great was their platter of fried shoestring onions. (Next time) We had only coffee afterwards and that also was very good. Extra cup if wanted. All in all, a most memorable meal. Walked out extremely satisfied and was grateful Andres was in Naples. Looking forward to bringing our snowbird friends here. There is a reason it is for stars, surprised it is even 2 stars. This is the only negative comment I have ever posted on a restaurant. I ordered a ribeye and asked the waiter (man from Chicago), please do not pre-slice the steak as I have heard from my dinner companion that they do. ( just my preference as sometimes they come more done than usual and cooler) The waiter said they recommend them slicing it and I said thanks for your recommendation, but I would like mine whole. After I asked for this, the waiter was much colder than he was prior. The steak came and it was pre-sliced and the waiter just had a little smirk. I then said "they just could not hold back that knife" and he smiled and walked away. They just pour butter all over which tasted good but the steak was all gray, even though I ordered Medium on the light side. The german hash browns were not good as my friend agreed and we eat out quite often, 5 days a week or more. For a restaurant charging $70-$270 for various steaks you think they might want to please their customers. I still left a 20% tip which I always do, but will not go back. The steak had good flavor, but was not near 22 ounces. My friend who eats there 5-10 a year said he would not go back just because he did not like the way they conducted themselves. and was surprised I even tipped them. If you have never been to Peter Luger's, then Andre's is delicious and well worth a visit! It's got an old school steak house vibe and the the cuts are aged beautifully. The whole experience is different from most any steakhouse around. But if you have been to Peter Luger's, then don't be fooled into thinking this is the SWFL version. It doesn't compare. They've tried to replicate the experience down to the decor but it's just not at PL's level. read more

This is for people who appreciate the old school steakhouse experience. The decor would scare the untrained steakhouse aficionado up walking in. The service was prompt. The servers were all very friendly and fun (we had Travis and he was great). The steak was outstanding. I'm normally a ribeye guy but we went for the porterhouse for two because it was one of the specialties of the house and it was just delightful. They also don't skimp on the pours. I generally don't like to give negative reviews. I try to be positive and have skipped a review or two based on the quality of the food. Not going to do that here. This is a well established place in Naples that is on the high-end price wise. Our host raved about the food here so we really looked forward to going. Place was charming. Reminded me of an old New York City restaurant. Service was impeccable. The all male wait staff reminded me, again of a restaurant I have visited New York City. But the food was a disappointment. The baked potato was fine. How can you screw up a baked potato? Asparagus was perfectly cooked. The rolls were delicious. But the steak was a huge letdown. New York strip. Priced it over $60. Not especially tasty. Actually, a little more gristle and fat than I expected on a New York strip. I have had better strip steaks at Longhorn steakhouse for about 40% of the cost. It pains me to have to write a bad post, but it must be done. Andre's Steakhouse last night for my birthday was really bad. We had a good waiter at first until a table of about 8 men came in and most likely had a $1000 bill or more and then our waiter was obsolete. My husband ordered us the porterhouse for two, MEDIUM and this is what we got. I tried for 30 minutes to get his attention, waving my hands with no attention because he was too busy with the millionaires next to us. Again, this was my birthday so my husband didn't want me to complain, but I did anyway. This was a $250 meal that they told me I ate most of it and they would not give us any money back. I surely didn't eat most of it as you can see. My husband surely didn't want me to post this or complain, but this is not what I ordered and I couldn't get any resolve. After 30 minutes, they sent a manager who wanted to reheat my steak and at that point I wasn't hungry anymore. I just wanted a refund. Not happening here. read more

Jesus. The best steak I've had in my entire life. We are 3 big (meat) eaters and could have easily done with a porterhouse for 2 split between us 3. Sides were delicious and medium-rare meat was cooked on-point, almost melted in our mouth. We had no plans on Xmas eve; we had just dropped some family at the airport and decided to get some steak. Food was not great especially for the price. Worst experience I have ever had dinning out!!!!! The severs began fist fighting in the restaurant which resulted in one on the servers pushing another sever out the back door of the restaurant. Manager had no remorse or had no real comment on the conflict. There is no excuse for this behavior.... The environment is obviously toxic to the core all the way down to the management and I can say without a doubt this is the absolute worst experience I have ever experienced in a restauran..... If I could give zero stars I would.. Absolutely insane!!! This is without mentioning they charge $15 for a side of what they call "German Potato" which is really just hash browns you could get at any mediocre breakfast restaurant. read more
