    Wonton soup

Solid flavors, high prices. They aren't cheap, but theirs noodles are well seasoned and have a good amount of protein, and their wonton soup is what we crave whenever we are feeling under the weather. I called in an order on a weeknight around 5pm and the order was ready for pickup within 20 minutes. We had the wonton soup to start, followed by the Singapore noodles and szeschuan beef. An easy weeknight meal when you don't want to cook.

Just based on food, this is a 3.5 star but the ambiance and service was definitely good and upscale. That said, the food is what will either convince me to come back or not and the meal, while enjoyable, wasn't good enough value to bring me back. Got the salt and pepper calamari, walnut prawns, string beans, and beef chow fun. Calimari and walnut prawns were the best items of the meal and while green beans were a generous portion and the chow fun noodles were fresh, both lacked the layered flavor I want with my food.

This was my first time at Andy and Yu's, and I must say I was impressed and pleasantly suprised! The ambiance is large and open but also very cozy and intimate. The restaurant is a great place for anything from a date night, taking the kids out, business dinners, or going out with friends or family. I loved how the food was not overly salty or greasy. The vegetables tasted very fresh and flavorful. The asparagus was perfectly crunchy. I really loved the Hong Kong style noodles, and I would recommend them. Again, I'm not a big mushroom fan but omg these ones were so plump and juicy and delicious! The kung pao chicken was good, although I could have stood for a bit more punch in sauce or spice. I loved the fluffy fried rice and even though it was the vegetarian option, I found it to be extremely satisfying and rich. Not pictured is one of the highlights for me - the sizzling rice soup. Each bowl came with a hearty amount of chicken and sizzling rice and vegetables - I would highly recommend this dish. The service was extremely efficient, warm and polite. Thanks Andy and Yu's for a great dinner out with my mom :)

    Chicken Chow Mein

Service was good we were sat pretty quick with no wait. They were very friendly and food came out pretty quick. It was a bit busy but not loud which was nice. I ordered the orange peel beef, chicken chow mein and spicy prawns. The orange beef was ok too much breading on the beef and couldn't really taste much of the beef. Would not get this again. The spicy prawns were good they were crispy good flavor they were just not spicy at all. That's my only complain would deff get it again. The chow mein was ok felt like it was missing flavor. But it had a good amount of chicken in it. The portions are pretty good size had tons of left overs. I also ordered a lychee martini it was good and refreshing a little too sweet for me but had a good balance. Parking can be hit or miss with the parking lot in the rear of the restaurant.

This place is just wonderful for banquets and special events. The staff is terrific, and the food is great. We recently ordered take-out for just a regular weeknight. The food was very satisfying... What we ordered: + Beef with orange flavor - this was very good. The beef was tender and had a slight sweet flavor. + Fried rice - what can it say, it was typical fried rice + Garlic noodles - good, but could have been a little more garlicky + Green bean - nice flavor and still crunchy + Peking duck - tasted good, but it didn't have the Peking duck skin. Came with Chinese tortillas, scallions, and plumb sauce. Overall, the food didn't blow me away, but still very good and satisfying.

Really enjoyed the service at Andy & Yu's! The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. You can tell they've established relationships with those that regularly come in. A nice restaurant that can be booked for private events with options indoor and outdoor. Could be a good choice for a large party indoors but not completely private as they offer room dividers shared with other diners. Unfortunately the food did not deliver on what we were hoping for.. The cream cheese rangoons were very salty and a small portion. The Crispy Chicken was not crispy at all since they are smothered in a sauce. I was thrown off by the sauce because the menu doesnt mention anything about a sauce- if I could guess it would be a lemon or orange chicken? Also very salty.. The honey walnut prawns tasted very strange.. lots of mayo and maybe even a hint of wasabi. We only ate a few pieces. The breading was also mushy.

The garlic noodles , the orange chicken, the sweet and sour tofu , the shrimp.

Too much hype for the place as all dishes taste same . The sweet and sour tofu , oil smells bad .The orange chicken is just ok , the shrimp said spicy but is sweet . The taste and flavor for all food is same . The garlic noodles tasted bland and no garlic in it .

Andy's & Yu's is my daughter's favorite restaurant located in downtown Pleasanton. They have a great menu with delicious appetizers and entrees. The reason we dine here is because they offer gluten free options for my daughter. Our go-to order is Chow fun, fried rice, vegetables and hot and sour soup. Big fan of Andy & Yu's!

We came here for a graduation party. The food was really good. The restaurant was clean and well decorated. I enjoyed the honey walnut prawns and garlic noodles. The staff were attentive and accompanied.

Beef Chow Fun (wet/with gravy)- off menu, black bean sauce
    A L.

Friendly & efficient service. Not a big wine selection (& not surprising for a local Chinese restaurant), especially for non CA wines. Wor won ton soup was filling- best to add white pepper. Beef chow Fun (wet/gravy style) w black bean sauce was not as strong/distinct as we hoped for but still good. When the regular beef chow fun was delivered, the waitstaff noticed it wasn't our special order and quickly had it returned and resolved. The black bean version had none of the original quality of vegetables (asparagus, carrots, broccoli), just onions , green & red peppers but we still appreciated the correction effort. The brown sauce still seems similar to triple crown specialty. Note chow fun can be prepared (dry/sauteed or wet/w gravy). All dishes had plenty fresh vegetables and proteins.

At CA Noodle, you get what you ask for - you can see the rich, red chili flakes and oil floating in the broth which adds a nice kick and great flavor to the freshly made noodles. I just wish there were more chunks of beef that were included - the dish is very carb heavy. We also shared a plate of the pig ear appetizer which is soaked in a rich chili oil. If you like more of the chewy/cartilaginous type of texture, which I do, this dish is absolutely amazing. Overall, would recommend this spot if you're looking for a comfort meal.

Seeing CA Noodle show up on our yelp search and it was nearby, we decided to check it out. The location is pretty convenient, located in a plaza that shares parking spaces with several other restaurants and a McDonald's. The inside only seats about 10-14 parties of 2-4, so a pretty small restaurant. They had 2 waiters staffing the entire restaurant, but the menu and ordering system is all done through a POS via QR code. The menu was quite large, offering no many choices like pot stickers, noodle soups, chow mein, and little appetizers like pig ears. We ended up ordering the pig ears, pot stickers, pork pan fried bun, and 2 noodle soups. The good: pig ears. The pig ears were cut in various sizes and the flavor was spicy. Definitely to our liking! The neutral: the pork hamburger item and pot stickers. While the bun was tasty and crispy, the mean in between was a bit dry and the taste was a bit mild and less salty. We made it better by adding pig ears with every bite lol. The pot stickers were fine but it didn't really give a crispy bottom taste and more of dry pan sear. It definitely needed sauce as the filling was a bit mild too (very consistent mild tastings after the pig ears. The bad: the soup dishes that we ordered were definitely needing a flavor bomb. While the noodles we ordered were great and had a ton of chew and the protein in the dish was plenty; the soup lacked in taste. My girlfriend had to ask for additional salt to add to taste and it made it so much better. I ate mine as intended and I wasn't as satisfied as compared to if I were to eat at ox9 or muragame. Overall, I thought our meal was about a 3.5. While we enjoyed watching the World Cup while eating our food, the taste of our food was much more desired and it didn't scratch our itch for a rich soup. Unfortunately, many of the other patrons seemed to catch on and order the chow mein instead. If we come back, it's probably what we would order next. Until next time!

The potstickers are a good vegetarian option and the tofu, mushroom and basil worked well together and that butterfly made out of carrots was gorgeous. I hear the chef makes them by hand. I picked it for a family lunch after going to the Livermore outlets. The decor and ambience is typical but relatively nice. We ordered a bunch of Shanghainese classics: Soy milk 4/5 - if you order multiple servings it comes in a large bowl meant for sharing. Can order cold or hot with sugar on the side. Xiao long bao 4.5/5 - I'm pretty picky about xlb and I am partial to the Shanghainese style (vs Taiwanese style you get at DTF and other places) and this was surprisingly good. Before this, my fav in the bay area was I-Shanghai Delight and honestly I think this might rival it. Filling and soup were both savory and light and incredibly umami. Maybe the wrapper at I-Shanghai is a bit thinner but honestly not a huge difference to me. Would def recommend if you like this style. Braised minced eel 5/5 - OMG this was the highlight of the meal for me, and I think only ppl who like this eel dish would understand. I honestly have not found good Shanghainese stir fried eel anywhere else in the Bay area. Chef Zhao's version was good once upon a time but then the most recent time we went, it tasted weird and not fresh. I-Shanghai Delight's was also no good (not fresh). This is the one dish that I will keep coming back here for. Razor clams with ginger and scallion 5/5 - This was also a crowd fav. I don't love clams usually but these were big and meaty and tender, and the sauce is what you would expect. Highly recommend Stewed yellow croaker soup with pickles 3/5 - This was ok and could've been better. Flavor of the soup was good but I think the fish tasted a bit overcooked/dry and could've been more tender. Shredded pork with wild rice shoot 4/5 - This was fine and a very traditional Chinese dish. Nicely done but nothing amazing. Red bean pancake 4/5 - This was a good dish, just not what I expected. I like the red bean pancakes where the pancake part is more doughy while this was like VERY crispy. But the flavor was good Lastly, the lady who took care of our table was SO nice and so chatty and so patient, despite the usual chaos and indecision of large family gatherings. She also packed up all the food for us and even gave suggestions for surrounding Chinese supermarkets. We ordered the egg tofu with veggies, beef brisket, ham and egg fried rice, and the chicken with Chinese sausage clay pot. The beef brisket was the clear winner -- tender, flavorful, and they give you a generous portion. No tiny rationed pieces hiding in sauce. The overall flavor profile was balanced and comforting without feeling overloaded with MSG. The egg tofu was light and nicely seasoned, and the fried rice delivered that classic Hong Kong café vibe. The clay pot had great flavor too, though I personally prefer larger pieces of chicken with less bone. Just a texture preference -- seasoning was on point.
