This is a Chinese - Korean restaurant in Pleasanton since 1987 . It offers a quiet and serenity atmosphere. Inside decorations are very elegant and authentic . It has Chinese paintings , beautiful vase , Chinese calligraphy with style , ceramic and brass figures of Mongolian horses, etc . I love their Kung bao chicken and Szechuan beef . The flavors are bold and spicy . However , I can only handle mild spicy and not extremely spicy . My favorite dishes was fish filet in ginger sauce with vegetables . The clear sauce with the seafood is so tasty . We got free appetizers ( vegetable egg roll and fried wonton in sweet and sour sauce ) . Inside the dish were also cooked bok choy, carrot , mushrooms , slices of water chestnut, green onion in a ginger flavor gravy . It tasted great with either rice or or brown rice . Service was great . Lady waiter came by often to check on us and added more ice water . The restaurant is clean and the lady deep cleaned the table after the customers left . Restroom is also clean with pleasant air freshener. I appreciate the ambiance very much . It is classic and elegant. It s a great place to meet up with friends and have a chat. No one would rush you to leave. Just enjoy the food and drive deep into your conversations. We don't see anything like this anymore now days . I had lunch there yesterday to go. I was able to do my business call in my car and the wonderful I think owner brought it to my car with everything I needed to eat in my car. She was amazing. The food was delicious and I definitely will be coming here lots more!! this restaurant has been in Pleasanton for many years and it is my favorite Chinese food restaurant. My favorite dishes are the lemon chicken and the sweet-and-sour pork. I also like the honey walnut prawns. The restaurant is nicely decorated with Chinese art pieces. It is a nice and pleasant seating type of restaurant. It is also good for takeout however, I personally do not like the plastic containers that they use because the food sweats so my recommendation is that if you pick up your food, you may want to crack open the lids so that the steam can escape and your food can still be crunchy when you get home. read more

Back with another review for my favorite War Wonton Soup ever!! The employees there say the soup is like penicillin and I agree! It makes me feel so much better if I am sick, feeling under the weather, or just feeling a little off. I am always so full after, there is so much goodness in the soup! The food was very delicious here. I ordered the ginger chicken and my friend ordered the beef. You can make it into a Lunch Special which includes a side of either rice, brown rice, or fried rice, an egg roll and a wonton. The price was cheap for two people with rice and sides! The ginger chicken was my favorite. My grandma used to make this for me a lot when I was younger, and it tasted so similar to that. It made me feel nostalgic and I ate the whole thing. The ladies here who served me were so nice and sweet to me. They also were on top of refilling my water glass and taking dishes away for us, asking if we needed anything. When I first arrived , I wondered if it was the right place because we were the only people there. Atmosphere was very nice so we went ahead and ordered. I have to say the egg rolls were very good, I liked the crab cheese wonton was very good as well. The Mongolian beef was some of the best I have had and the Kung Pao was way above average. I have been going to this restaurant for over a decade. It was my wife's favorite growing up; her parents took her there on special occasions. When we were newly-weds living out east, she used to rave about their Szechuan beef and Moo Shoo Chicken. When we moved to Pleasanton, it easily made it on to our restaurant rotation. Then the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and radically transformed our eating-out routine. We now mostly cook at home, with an occasional In'N'Out run. But tonight was an exception - the first Friday after school restarted. We wanted to reward the kids (and ourselves!) for successfully navigating multiple Zoom calls without (completely) losing it. So for the first time in over 6 months, we found ourselves outside our old favorite restaurant, paying contactless with a credit card over the table barricading the entrance, and taking a bag of delicious smelling Szechuan food in return. My wife had thoughtfully ordered all our favorites: Szechuan beef, Moo Shoo Chicken (with extra pancakes), Fried chicken, Pot stickers and Spring rolls. We attacked the food when we got home. Our youngest grabbed a large fried chicken leg. Her big sis and mom carefully assembled and then demolished Moo Shoo Chicken wraps. I made myself a plate of pot stickers and Szechuan beef. The food was deliciously familiar, striking a nostalgic chord and taking us back to "normal" pre-COVID times. Listening to the happy chatter around our little dining table, I reflected on the joy a good meal can provide. Thank you Chinese Szechuan Restaurant, and welcome back to our lives. My husband, son and I brought my father-in-law here for lunch and we all left very happy and full. We ordered Mongolian beef & brown rice, honey walnut prawns & fried rice & kung pao tofu. Everything was hot and delicious! We were given spring rolls and wantons for appetizers, which was unexpected and very nice of them. My 3 year old is a picky eater but he loved the spring rolls, wantons & honey walnut prawns. We will be coming here everytime we visit family in this area. I feel like this is one of those restaurants that are such go-to reliable staples in your rotation, that you forget to review them on Yelp! This one is long is overdue. This was the only korean-chinese food restaurant in town for a while, so it will forever hold a special place in my heart. It's been around for a long time so that must say something. Definitely one of the best tangsuyuk's (korean style sweet and sour pork) I've had. They also serve the classic sweet & sour pork with the bright red sauce, so make sure you specify when you order. Nice crispy bite sized pieces of pork and a great sauce - not too thick, not overly sweet. I love the thin slices of pickles and pineapple added in it. Jja jjang myun (black bean noodles) is so delicious and has a lot of seafood like shrimp and squid, in addition to slices of beef. These 2 dishes are must haves. I've gotten a lot of different dishes here that have all awesome - fried rice, mongolian beef, beef and broccoli, seafood delight, orange chicken, potstickers, egg rolls, crab rangoon. The list could go on and I'm sure it will not disappoint as I continue to explore the menu. Have been back and will be back. A family favorite for sure. read more

I've been seeing this restaurant for many years and decided to give it a try as I usually go to the Japanese restaurant down a few doors instead. I went there for lunch and ordered the lunch menu. I had hot sour soup, egg roll, won ton, fried rice and beef with mixed vegetables. The portions were really food on the beef dish. Overall the food was good but nothing to rave about. The hot sour soup was tasty with real pork meat. I liked that they gave me both an egg roll and fried won ton but didn't like that they drenched it in sweet sour sauce. Nothing wrong with sweet-and-sour sauce but I just wanted to control how much I used on my own. The fried rice was very plain with just egg and pretty salty. I didn't finish it. The main beef with mixed vegetables dish was good. Sauce was a little thick but the quality of meat was good. I'm not sure if I'll be back. Nothing really pulling me there or pushing me out. read more

First word that came to my mind when I sat down and saw the menu was "overpriced". (One beef or poultry dish was like $15 on average. Crazy!). Second word was "inauthentic". It's like fusion of Chinese and Korean. We ordered two dishes: - Champon: spicy noodle soup with seafood and pork. I thought the flavor was nice and subtle but my bf thought it was too mild, borderline bland. - General Tso's Chicken: nice and crispy on the outside and the flavor was good, but maybe the chicken was fried just a tad too long. Bf said he could taste the burnt flavor. I thought it was quite nice. - free appetizers: fried wontons skins and vegetable rolls. Overall it was pretty good but the price was just way too steep. Two dishes with one order of rice cost us close to $40 after tax and tips. So I probably won't go back. She was so sweet, courteous, gave great suggestion of food and quantity we should order. She even made sure everything was enough for everyone.
