I'm so glad we stopped over here instead of a chain restaurant! We got in right at 830am, one of the first to be seated. I ordered a Popeye omelette: bacon, cheddar, spinach with a side of toast and fruit. Very filling! Our server was very nice as well. Can't wait to return!

This was so yummy! I came today when I was early for an appointment. I got a side biscuits and gravy chicken enchilada soup and a side of bacon. I also had 4 cups of steaming hot coffee. The service was quick and the food was delicious. I wish the biscuits and gravy was sausage gravy but that's a personal preference. I was sad they didn't have chicken and rice soup everyday because I was looking forward to trying it. Will come back asap!

I wanted a delicious breakfast for lunch, so I looked about and located this eatery. Their menu is rather inviting, featuring a lot of classic American breakfast dishes with a hint of Mexican cuisine. I ordered their Andy's stuffed toast and I paid extra $4 to have it as a combo meal, which included two eggs and two bacon or sausage links. The toast has a pleasant crispness to it in addition to being fluffy. Their handmade cream sauce is the filler in between the toasts. It smelled like citrus and was moderately sweet. A rich, sweet strawberry sauce covered the toast. Because of their tart flavor, the strawberries weren't ripe. As requested, the eggs were made in a scrambled style. The eggs were moist and airy when scrambled. Lucky, there was black pepper and salt on the table because the eggs were not seasoned. The bacon had a flavorful and fatty texture, although I would have preferred it to be more crispy. They executed a basic dish of bacon and eggs quite well. I ordered their cookies and cream milkshake, which came in a glass mason jar to display the large Oreo cookie, crushed Oreos, and whipped cream. Although the look is quite tempting, which is why I initially ordered it, the taste was not up to par.

Came here on a random Saturday morning because it was voted the best breakfast in northern Illinois so I had to try it. It is located on the small strip mall on a major road. However, they do have lots of parking, which was great. They were not busy this particular morning around 1130 when we arrived, which was also great so easy to be seated and quickly Service was super nice very friendly and very kind I have to say. Maybe because they weren't busy or maybe this is who they inherently are. The menu is great. It has a lot of the basics and a lot of the traditional staples and it also has a great Mexican twist. I believe the owners are Mexican, which is great, because it adds a nice level of authenticity when you order things like the Chilaquiles or the Al pastor omelette. The salsa and the guac are super fresh and very tasty, and also have a really great kick of heat to them. While the portions in the pricing are very fair, and in line with the surroundings, I still look for something to really distinguish this place from others. Overall, though a great experience, and worth a visit.

Second time here. Food is really good. Smoothies are delicious. Highly recommend! Friendly service. Parking is a big tight though.

I LOVE THEM!! Great place to have brunch. It's so much better than ihop or those other breakfast places. They get full pretty quick , a lot of customers come and go so you never really have to wait for a seat. The food is so delicious!!

Pleasantly surprised by this diner-style spot. Great menu variety for breakfast and lunch. Service was quick and friendly and the food was really good. I went with a classic spinach and feta omelette which was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were tasty, but were quite oily, so not the best. The biggest downside to this place are the steep prices. While everything was good, I don't think I'd pay these prices again for this type of food.

I went here for lunch and had a nice experience, overall. I have had bb.q Chicken food at a different location before but this was my first time at this location. It wasn't busy when we got here. We were seated promptly. We took our time in deciding a I could not decide between getting wings or 1/2 fried chicken. Finally, I decided to go with 1/2 fried chicken (8 pieces) since I hadn't had it before. The small order of wings also comes with eight pieces and is a couple of dollars less than the 1/2 fried chicken. The food was freshly prepared. The chicken was hot when it came out. My wife got a lunch special of 8 pieces boneless wings in honey garlic sauce which came with fries and a soft drink. I got my 1/2 fried chicken in Spicy Galbi sauce. My chicken was very flavorful. The sauce had a nice taste. It was a bit sweet, a bit savory, and a light kick of heat. One thing different with having this 1/2 fried chicken from the wings I had at a different bb.q Chicken was that the 1/2 fried chicken pieces were not as meaty as the wings. The boneless wings flavor was good as well. The food hit the spot. The service was satisfactory. Next time, I'll go back to having wings.

There's a whole halal menu I didn't get to try. I wanted something that was fast but not too fast so I settle on a burger. The bun was decent but the patties looked preformed and kinda bland. There's a whole leaf of lettuce ( iceberg lettuce) of course on top. The tomato slice was double the thickness of a nice slice you would get at any other place. I asked for grilled onions and got this 1/2 thick slice slightly charred whole onion piece like a piece of tree with all the rings. When I tell you about the flimsy over pickled pickles , it was all down hill. Overall their burgers aren't the greatest but there's a whole other side to the menu . The gyro meat has a unique, delicious flavor that keeps me coming back, and the pita is exactly how it should be, soft with just the right amount of crisp. You can tell the staff genuinely cares about the customer experience. On my most recent visit, Verda was exceptionally kind, patient, and welcoming to every person who walked through the door. I was especially touched by how warm and thoughtful she was with my sons. That level of genuine hospitality is becoming harder to find, and it made our meal even more enjoyable. Great food brings people in the first time, but outstanding service is what keeps them coming back. The Works delivers both. It's the kind of local business worth going out of your way to support.
