Hello Chocolate - Is there anything you CAN'T do? I was around Downtown Napa and saw a huge sign that says "Chocolate Factory" so of course I had to check it out. The sales girl was giving free samples of the milk chocolate truffles so I went ahead and tried it. I was hooked! By the time I left the store, I came out with a box of the Almond, Hazelnut, Milk Chocolate and Cappuccino Truffles. They were all creamy and chocolatey-delicious! They tantalized my taste buds. Who would've thought that something so small could turn into one magnificent hand-held edible masterpiece. I may need a personal trainer just to keep the fat off. I will definitely try to pay another visit if I'm in town again. read more

Truffles at 1630 with riesling are a girl's best friend. I've been super indulgent since late afternoon today.. after some elbow grease in the garden for hours and fabulous back-breaking stretches weeding and transplanting, I took a Philosophy field of flowers bubble bath and immediately thought of some wine and chocolates... MMHM... I am treating myself like a queen, a hauteur of privilege! Opened a bottle of Bearboat riesling and trying some Annette's that my gf got for me from Napa....decadent little truffles... Can really get the notes of the different wines and chocolates within the truffles... mine: a chardonnay with white choc. and a summer cabernet with bittersweet...wickedly good!!!! PS Funny thing is, friend just went, and I biked right past this place during a vacation stay on Main St. Saw it but I never went in... this became one great afternoon.. PPS They are also set up inside of the Oxbow Public Market across the river on 1st.... a mini Ferry Bldg type of foodie enclave,if you will. I would highly recommend this shop! It had so many cute chocolates and unique treats (including a jalapeño bark). They let you do two flavors in the small, which is really great. I was able to do the cookie monster and the chocolate peanut butter bites. WOW. These were both incredible. They were softer (almost a gelato-like consistency) and had great mix-ins in both. Super cute boutique shop for Chocolates and Gelato! The girls and I were on our way to wine tasting after a big meal in downtown and wanted to stop by this spot to treat ourselves to dessert! They have all types of assorted chocolates and you can pick the sweets you want in your assoreted box. OR you can slide right over to the selection of Gelato or the back walk for pre packaged snacks ready to go! My girlfriend treated us to a whole box of chocolates to go perfectly paired with the wine. I ended up getting gelato since it was so HOT outside. Who doesn't love chocolate? This shop offers great hand made chocolates as well as wonderful gelato. We bought a few of their wine truffles such as the Hazelnut and Port. They had some sauces on a side table to try. OMG! The Italian Cherry Chocolate sauce with Merlot is out of this world. I couldn't wait to get some good vanilla ice cream. Go here now!!! I wish I could bottle up the smell in this shop and just spray it in my house. The second you walk in you're hit with this deliciously sweet aroma, cooked waffles and cinnamon. The staff here is so very friendly, eager to answer any and all questions and we got samples chocolate hazelnut praline while just looking around the shop. The chocolate hazelnut praline tasted fresh and yum. Now to why we went: ice cream!!! This place has some of the best ice cream I've had in quite a while. I sampled a whole bunch of flavors but decided to get the triple berry sorbet with the Tahitian vanilla ice cream. My husband got the strawberry and I basically ate all of his too. I can't say anything about their ice cream, but as for the chocolates I didn't think they were great. This place is kind of like Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, but maybe a tad bit better. Out of 5 truffles and chocolates, 1 was good, 3 were ok, and 1 was too sweet (caramel truffle?). If you're in Napa, go to Woodhouse in St. Helena. You'll pay about $1 more per chocolate, have fewer choices, but every piece is awesome. read more

Pricey ice cream and not too special. I didn't enjoy my rocky road with huge chunks of marshmellow that took forever to chew. I asked the other about their ice cream and both response was its fine. So nothing special. Also, the girl working the counter could be more personable or smile some. Tip: They don't allow you to sample the ice cream which is rare since majority of ice cream palors/shop would let us taste before buying. I got their Caramel Cream Ice Cream which was a-ok but made better by their butterscotch sauce which was available along with other sauces at their self-serve area. (They sell containers of those sauces that you can take with you also.) I also had their smookie (s'mores cookie) and while not the best cookie I've had was still pretty good. They have a few seats inside and more out in front of the restaurant, which is a good option on a nice day. You might have to circle around for parking, but I saw several parking spots open while I was eating my ice cream outside. This is a pretty nice stop for dessert after a meal at one of the nearby restaurants in downtown Napa. read more

Indisputably the best chocolate north of Monterey, amd probably the best ice cream north of Santa Cruz. Toss in the chocolate sauces, caramels, and first rate hot chocolate, and this place is the one stop sweet shop from heaven. It's also the best location for the Christmas parade. The service is always patient, helpful, and friendly, even with large, complicated orders. Can't say enough about the macadamia clusters, salted Himalayan chocolates (dark or milk chocolate). Also the truffles are excellent, on a par with some of the better chocolatiers in Ghent, Brussels or Vienna.
