In just under an hour, he was able to diagnose the problem and replace our ice maker, which he had on hand. One small critique-- it caught me a little off guard to see a tip option on screen when making my payment, but in this case I obliged, considering how well the whole appointment went. A few weeks later, while I was out of town in July, I got a message from my Ecobee thermostat indicating that the A/C wasn't working. I texted Russ about this and he showed up after 6PM on a Saturday, the same day I texted him about the issue! He figured out what was wrong right away and just folded the service call into my annual service plan which was, as before with the dishwasher, very generous and much appreciated. I'm literally excited to have Fuse Service as my go to place for appliance repair and HVAC maintenance. I'm used to businesses asking me to write positive Yelp reviews and I don't mind that. But, Fuse did not ask me to write my review.

Our dishwasher stopped working last week, and our landlord had ABS come out today to take a look…read more Mini-background, our building has an issue with the kitchen sinks in the ground floor units backing up every so often, and when this happens, our dishwasher also gets water backed up into it. Usually it will drain itself out when it gets turned on, but last week it stopped working. I called ABS to set up a time this morning, and not only were they able to come out the same day I called, but they were actually on time within the 1-hour window I was given. The technician, Manny V, was super nice and friendly. He quickly deduced that the water back-ups likely were not the culprit and that the problem was probably electrical. He opened up the baseboard under the unit and found the problem- the dishwasher had originally be installed poorly (before we even moved in), and some wiring was in contact with the metal frame, which meant that it had been overheating the wires every time we ran the dishwasher. Eventually, this caused a big short, which just happened to coincide with the latest drain back-up. He took the time to show me exactly what he was looking at, explain exactly what caused it, and what he was going to do to fix it. Once he fixed it, he ran the unit for a bit, and while that was going, he took the time to not only show me how to get the unit to just drain (without running a full cycle), but also explained why we get water in the bottom of the dishwasher when the drains back up. In conclusion- on time, super friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Would highly recommend for any appliance repairs in the Chicago area!
