When choosing any service, I always check the Yelp reviews first. I want to know the actual experiences of the consuming public. That is why I think these reviews are so important. So after reading the great reviews, I decided to call A-Advent Appliance. Tony was great. He arrived right at the scheduled appointment time and proceeded to work on my refrigerator. I had called ABT first and they said my refrigerator was too old (14 years) and parts would not be available. Tony thought he might be able to fix the refrigerator replacing one small part. He was able to get my refrigerator running but unfortunately that night it died again. Tony promptly came out again the following day and determined it was in fact the compressor which although could be replaced, did not make sense due to the high cost relative to a new unit. It made more sense to buy a new one. Tony refunded me the cost of the original work and part and only charged for one service call - which by the way was VERY reasonable - way less than other repair places I called. He then gave me much advice on what to look for in purchasing a new refrigerator. Although the refrigerator was not fixed, it was a great experience. I will definitely call Tony again. I was having an issue with my refrigerator no longer cooling. I reached out to Tony in the morning and he scheduled me for the next afternoon. He called to notify me 30 minutes before his arrival. When he showed up he was neat, clean, and had a mask on when he got to the door-coronavirus precaution. He is very no nonsense and got right to work. Within about 10 minutes he found the problem. He had the part needed for the repair in his truck and had my refrigerator working and put back together within an hour. He showed me the part that had gone bad, explained why it went bad, and the new replacement. He used a genuine General Electric part for the repair. I questioned wouldn't a generic part be just as good and cheaper. He said he only uses genuine parts, stating they my cost a bit more but are much more reliable. I called A-Advent Appliance and Tony was able to squeeze me into his schedule the same day. Tony was great! He was very prompt with what time he said he would be arriving. He was very friendly and within 5 minutes of looking at my fridge he had already diagnosed that the issue could have been one of two problems. He told me, upfront what the charges would be. He had the part I was needing in his truck and was able to fix my fridge within 30 minutes. He also told me that if it would have been the other issue that it would have been time for a new fridge. Tony recently came out and fixed our dryer. Responded quickly when we called, fixed it quickly and correctly soon as he got here and a really nice man. We've been getting help with appliances in our home and my son's home for years and very happy with Tony's support. Feels like we're calling a friend and he responds that same way! If you are looking for honest, fast service call Tony . We have used him a few times ! My spicket on my water dispenser on my Refrigerator was broken. He had the part within a couple of days and it was fixed. Very reasonable! He was just back out by our house last week to check my washing machine, which was bad news but while he was there I had him look at two other things ,one was my ice machine we thought was broken over 6 months . I have been calling Tony at A-Advent for over 20 years because he is honest and dependable. Over the years he has repaired my washing machine, dryer, garbage disposal, refrigerator, etc. with expertise and I have never been disappointed. My husband found Tony to service my washing machine that was not draining. Tony came out and explained what he needed to do to fix the problem. He let us know the part that was necessary and what it was going to cost. Tony replaced the drain pump and everything was great. When I was doing laundry after he left, I noticed that the soap/bleach/softener dispenser drawer was not closing properly. I called Tony and he came out to check out my new complaint. Tony's fixed my dryer twice now due to two different issues with the thing about a year and a half apart. One of the internal rollers went bad causing the unit to screech and squeak as the drum turned. It was loud and unbearable. Called Tony after we couldn't get a call back with out usual serviceman...Tony was polite and able to fit us in. Arrived on time and diagnosed the problem. Returned with part and fixed our oven and then took a last ditch stab at restoring the gas supply line to our cooktop (which was clogged from bad starchy spillover).
