This was my first restaurant on my arrival to NYC. We got a square pie pizza- which was recommended to us if we wanted a crispy edge- honey let me tell you! She did not disappoint We started with a caprese salad - which was my favorite I will not like the tomato was crunchy but not too pre-ripe but not soggy. Then espresso shot! Nothing in it! Lord yes! This was right on time.... Smooth not too acidic! Did not give me heartburn, and the taste was not too strong. A beautiful surprise Now those rolls..... I am not a fan. For $25, it's not a bad price for 2 people. The ingredients were fairly standard quality - while I enjoyed the pizza, it didn't really stand out in any way. Similar story for the place itself - there is a decent amount of seating inside but otherwise nothing that noteworthy about the interior. The staff are average friendliness and the service speed is normal. Overall, Patsy's Pizzeria is a pretty good albeit rather ordinary pizza spot. Got take out from here recently and got one plain pizza (with tomato sauce) and one white pizza with sausage and mushroom. Plain pizza was good. Like normal pizza. The white was sooo good. I love the ricotta, and the sausage/mushroom combo ended up working well. Savory taste of the sausage and lightness of the ricotta was good blend. Mushroom also had good texture and good mildly smokey taste. I ate three slices and still wanted more (but had to hold back to save for later). Caesar salad (not pictured here) had good amount of dressing but not overdone. Pretty good. Very nice staff. Got ready relatively quick. Overall I like their pizza a lot! Just a bit pricey ($26 for a pie) especially even with the toppings, so don't think will be an often-go place but probably will be a go-here-and-there sort of place :) read more

Yum, yum, yum! Although I didn't find in the city the kind of New York style pizza I grew up enjoying on Long Island as a kid, the pizza we ordered and tried at Patsy's was tasty, very Italian with a good crust. There's so much hype about Joe's Pizza, with a long line out in the Winter cold that we endured, just to check it out. But both my hubby & I agree that Patsy's pizza is just as good, and certainly the ambiance/overall experience much more pleasurable. Still, I wish I could find a pizza maker who produces the same greasy and flavor-able pizza as Frank's in Uniondale, back in the 60's. read more

Our service was really poor. Had to flag down alternate staff and ask for things. The app came with the main and we weren't offered bread. My husband enjoyed the original pizza but the calamari was average. He asked for the drink selection and was given about 4 options. I had this one on my to-eat list for so many years, but it is a bit off the beaten path. I finally got two friends to come along, and we took the subway and bus there (we're north of Harlem). I figured to myself "You probably are never going to get to Totonno's, they're starting to shut down--don't miss this one.") Let's not bury the lede here--I have never had better pizza in my life, and I've been around a while. Round pie, thin charred crust, the kind you only get from a coal oven, which are hard to find these days. This may well be the best I've had, but I can say with certainty--having been to John's on Bleecker and Lombardi's on Spring--it can't be beat in this style. Enjoyed with a good chianti (two bottles), a very good Caesar salad, fried zucchini sticks, and fried ravioli. The physical menu doesn't entirely match the online menu, but it lists all the ingredients in the pizza for those with sensitivies. Service was friendly, informed and informal. It's a family style restaurant, not a place for food snobs. Food lovers. Amore! Because it's off the beaten path, in what used to be Italian Harlem, no line out the door, no waiting, we got seated right away--on a Saturday night, though a cold one. I'm 100% certain that Patsy's pays for fake reviews and recommendations because the food was seriously terrible. Caesar salad of chopped wilted yellowing/white lettuce, and soggy (in spite of requesting extra crispy) tasteless pizza with ground meat product for sausage. We did have a nice table by the window--because we were literally the only people in the restaurant at 7pm on a Sunday night. Guess everyone else already knew. Stopped by here out of convenience while in the area. We wanted something quick and easy. We were quickly seated at 630pm as the place wasn't busy. It gives an 'olive garden' kinda vibe...one of those neighborhood suburban style spots. We ordered one large veggie pizza to share among 3 and that was plenty. There wasn't much cheese on it and thin crust. I also order the penne ala vodka. It is listed as spicy, but there was zero spice to it and actually kinda dry. I'm used to a vodka pasta being creamy and full of sauce. ($22) for a plate. My husband and I went to Patsy's for a pre-theatre dinner in celebration of our 45th anniversary. I chose Patsy's because I had learned it was Frank Sinatra's favorite Italian restaurant in NYC -- I was looking for an iconic NY experience. Patsy's exceeded all expectations! Not only was the food beyond delicious, (the lasagna and tiramisu were to die for!) but the ambiance was so welcoming that I felt like I was at a family dinner. Indeed, "Patsy" Scognamillo started the restaurant in 1944 and his grandson, Sal, continues the tradition with pride and professionalism. Sal's beautiful wife greeted us at the door and Sal, himself, roamed the room to make sure his guests were well-fed and cared for. Stopping at our table, Sal offered to show us the back stairway where Frank Sinatra used to enter to dine upstairs. And I highly recommend getting a jar of Patsy's special tomato sauce to take home! So glad to hear that Sal's son will someday be the fourth generation to keep Patsy's door open. There are so many great NY pizza places but this one tends to be one of my favorites. Pizza never disappoints, always delicious and a perfect bite each time. Parking at this location can be tough to find so just have to circle the block a few times to find one. Service is always friendly and courteous and prices matches the quality of the pie! We went to Patsy's hoping for a nice meal after a long day. The restaurant was fairly busy but we were seated quickly-- though that was more or less when the service ended. As we sat there, I looked around and realized no one had food on their tables. The waitresses were MIA, the hostess or manager was walking around with a frown, and a bus boy was slamming items around nearby tables. Maybe some staff drama had gone down that night, I don't know. But it was definitely one of the worst service experiences I've had. After sitting for a while we eventually asked the hostess if anyone was coming. She seemed annoyed by the question and snapped "soon." A waitress did eventually bring us water and take our order after about 25 minutes. We ordered a pizza and an appetizer. The appetizer arrived cold about 40 minutes later, it took the pizza over an hour to arrive. We never got drink refills or bread, and it was then very difficult to flag someone down for the cheque (again, staff seemed annoyed to be asked). The pizza was decent but not memorable. It took over two hours to have the meal and get out of there. I've never experienced anything quite like it! I try to be understanding and I assume they were short staffed, but the general rudeness and excessive wait times made for a negative experience. read more

We have eaten outdoors before and it was a good experience. This time around, we decided to eat inside. For some reason, the inside is quite warm on a hot summer day. Historic pizzeria... or so I remembered it as so. Pizza was burnt on the bottom and the lack of cheese was embarrassing to say the least. Thought bringing my southern friends to a real New York pizzeria would impress them. It did the opposite. Never again. $64 for 2 square burnt pies.. I'll never recommend this place again. NYC is filled with good pizza, but which place has the best or which place has great pizza. You can throw Patsy's into the great pizza category with its thin crust and blast of fresh flavor in each bite. The restaurant itself is a really nice small classic pizza and bar type of restaurant, it has a really good vibe inside. Here for a late night dinner with my family, I was very excited to savor some NY pizza. We were promptly seated and provided with menus. The restaurant wasn't super busy, so we were able to enjoy a minimally noisy, relaxing experience. We all opted for various pizzas with different toppings. Pizza does take roughly 30-35min to cook since it is made fresh to order. Once it arrived to our table it was hot, ready, and smelled oh so delicious.
