It's unique in its own way. Excellent place to sit in the patio and enjoy a beer (drink). Food is good. You will find better, but it's Angel's atmosphere and just being out of the city that makes it worth while. A little pricey on deserts, and not necessarily memorable. I'd come back and suggest if you want to get out of town and enjoy the country side, this is a good start. read more

First time back to Angel's since they ended the food truck thing they had going. This time service was pretty poor. I ordered a chicken sandwich with no mayo which came came out with mayo. When I sent it back the waitress got an attitude. It probably would have helped if she wrote down our order. In addition we requested an extra plate literally 4 times as my sister ate off of a napkin and we watched the waitress play on her phone. Lastly, after my sister who is 35 finished her margarita they asked her for ID... Just an overall disappointing experience. read more

Don't be chintzy and charge $1 for extra BBQ/dipping sauces. Your current burger prices should include all the sauces one may need. This nickel and dime stuff is very irritating to the customer. Question, are your beers 16oz/pint pours??? read more

Angel's Icehouse was an incredible surprise! We were lucky to go the day their kitchen reopened and the full menu was being offered again apparently. All our meals were delicious! We seriously considered returning the next day of our vacation for round 2. Can't recommend the food enough! Don't skip the fried pickles & jalapeños or the frito pie! read more

The iced tea is great, my wife got a strawberry margarita and she sucked it down. I three of us got burgers and on order of The Hangover. Youngest got tenders. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Welp, Yelp helped us find this spot just in time. It is pet friendly and awesome outside atmosphere. Parking is weird. Upon sitting the waitress brought our pug a bowl of water which was great. The kids loved the outdoor toys and roam space. The lemon pepper wings and queso for apps were really really good. I got a 1/4 single better, have had better. Overall it was more of the experience that made it more appealing. The live band was setting up and started just as we were leaving. If youre travelling with kids & pets, stop here its worth it! They even have a doggy meal option!!! read more

I so rarely comment on 5 star food but our food and service tonight were above and beyond! Eric did an awesome job even with a new system they were trying out, and our food was INCREDIBLE. seriously get the fried jalapeños and pickles they were perfection. Three star reviews are the hardest, aren't they? I'm not angry enough to write a snarky two or one-star rant, and not gushy and in love enough to write a four or five-star love letter. So, yeah, hum. 3 stars. No passion. This place is fine for what it is. A casual spot with lots of picnic tables, beer and fried foods for post lake recovery. But not a destination spot. Certainly not worth the drive from Cedar Park. I took my senior lady friend here today cause we had heard that there were possibly some nice older gents that hung out here. For those keepin up, you'll remember my friend is very outgoing, loves to drink and dance, and as such has a hard time finding a man her age that's as active as she is. We seriously struck out here today. Granted we were there on a Sun early evening but our only options were two typical lake "guys"--you know, gimme cap, long gray hair, sun enhanced wrinkles, sittin next to us at the bar smokin and wheezin makin us move to another table, drinkin Bud Light kinda guys. Sheesh. Where are all our cosmopolitan, educated, adventurous older men at?? Obviously not here. And neither was there air conditioning. And neither was there anything edible un-fried. They DO have fantastic fried pickles. The sliced kind mixed in with sliced jalapenos and served with chipotle ranch. They are almost as good as my hubby's. But then, already fullish from the pickles, we ordered a salad with salmon on top and discovered even the salmon is fried! Actually it seemed to be pre-frozen, breaded salmon patties. EW. Also they DO have flies. Lots of em. Buzzin around what THEY apparently thought was fantastic food. So the place is not bad for that dehydrated, sweaty salt deficient feeling of being in the water all day. I'm sure any food would be good under those circumstances. The atmosphere was casual, enough to where I almost felt overdressed in a tank and denim skirt. The waitstaff had bathing suits on. Ok, besides being an absolutely gorgeous location....I had the best fish tacos I've ever had (Quality Seafood has NOTHING on these tacos) here last night...for $2.50 a pop! You can't beat that. The fried pickles (with hidden jalapenos) were also seriously tasty. The service was friendly and efficient...lots of great drink specials during happy hour. Their margarita is hand-squeezed lime juice...so they're always "skinny"....and I'm not usually a fan of margs done this way (Guerros...ew) but these were refreshing, for sure! I might have sucked mine down in the first five minutes we were there...don't judge! They also have a great selection of draft beers....had a Creme Ale and the Thirsty Goat Amber last night to chase the marg. Last night they were having a little banquet for a large group so they had a karaoke set up...so much fun. I will definitely be back to try out some more of the food....word has it that they also have a doggie menu which is pure genius! read more

Was looking for gringo tacos since moving from Oregon, we could always get hard shell tacos at this little dive bar we frequented, so we had hopes that we would find that here. They had the hard taco part right but ranch on them? That was a no go the first time, but the second time I just said no ranch and they were ok. Since Covid the menu is different so I'm not sure what I would order now, but I do know that I will try whatever they are doing because I really liked the establishment. I'm no ta huge fan of food trucks, but I will give it a go, can't go wrong with a place that plays live music. I admire all these businesses doing their best to keep up with the new policies and getting back out there in these difficult times. It's coming back, slowly but surely. read more

Horrible experience tonight.Took our besties there for dinner and to catch up on our lives. Unfortunately the bad was playing indoors at an ear-splitting volume. It was so loud, we could not hear one another, even shouting. The volume was painfully loud. What's with that? The indoor venue is small. We were on the porch in an attempt to escape the high volume, 7-piece band, and we all four were thoroughly miserable. If you don't want a headache and ringing ears two hours later, avoid Angels when there's live music. It makes you wish you were dead! read more

I loved the iced tea (previous reviews had said it was good); the atmosphere is fun and laid back. Prices were reasonable and portions were good sized. I got the Monday special: Chicken Fried Steak. It has a great coating and and was hot and fresh. I was a little put off by the flavor - had a bit of a lime taste to it - but it was still very good.They have an outdoor patio (covered and insulated when cold), and a big outside area with picnic tables. The staff was friendly and helpful. Only downside to me is the location - it is a bit of a drive for me living in South Austin, so it will be an occasional visit for me. read more

This is probably the most under appreciated place around here! There should be a line to get in. The server Gater was awesome! Loved the Mary Tinga Tostadas Angel and ate in the outdoor atmosphere. Dogs on a leash can also be served for $3 read more

This place is still going strong and is an Northwest Austin place to go to. They have had their Covid challenges like other places.. They chose to use a kitchen (truck) away from the building to separate from the bar area. Disregard other reviewers about having to order from the app. Sure that's an option but you can go up to the food truck (their current kitchen) and order what you want and how you like it. You order your drinks separate ( or at least we did a couple of times recently) Great outdoors picnic area and playground. They have a small stage and we had some locals playing some songs on a recent Sunday, was refreshing and an attempt to get back to pre-Covid times. We went Christmas Eve eve (dec 23rd) and they had a church group playing Christmas songs and it was cold as ever but Angels kept it going and had a % of their sales going to the local church. I've been there many times but have not reviewed until now. These folks are fighting for you to make it work, support them. Outdoor playground for kids, pet friendly, cold beer, good food, dedicated staff Good desert. Key Lime Pie.. you'll thank me later. read more

First time back since COVID. Don't like ordering through the app to get from the good truck. We ordered our burgers and 4-5 min later remembered I wanted to ask them to make the bacon crispy. I go out to the truck and our order is already done. Okay. Take it to the table and it was NOT the Angel's burger I remember. It was obvious the patty had been cooked and probably under a lamp, bacon was floppy/fatty and the whole thing was tasteless. My Hefeweizen was cold and delicious but sad about the food. read more

This place has always been hit 'n' miss for us. I ordered the Supreme Queso, no sour cream, and my wife had her usual bacon cheeseburger with fries. I had never ordered this before. The queso was excellent but the chips were awful, store-bought, dorito-style. Big disappointment. The accompanying salsa was also unbalanced. Way too much cilantro. The burger was not good. Dry, and the cheese was not melted. She sent it back and they took it off the bill. Last 2 trips, the burgers and fries were great, but the thumping subwoofer/loud bass level of the house tunes was annoying once again. That voom/thud gives me a headache, and you can't tell what song is playing. We complain about it every trip, but it never changes. Last time we were there, we brought it up again. The server said she was also tired of listening to it. This time, our excellent server, Kathryn, asked us if we needed anything. I responded and told her to please turn the boom-boom down. She did. I haven't been here for couple years... This place is growing for good! Good service too. Sautéed tilapia taco has lot of sauce. Maybe they can put all the sauces on the side to let customer to put into taco. Otherwise fish taco is really good! chicken wings are very crispy, very good. read more

I'd give them a negative if I could. They have a great vibe & sometimes good music & we can take our dog - so much so good. But unfortunately the food sucks! They have never learned how to cook a French Fry!! They are either limp and half-cooked or over-cooked and hard. They got rid of the food trucks so we thought the kitchen would be back on track, but the chicken fried steak my husband had there today in his Hangover Cure looked like something my dog threw up. Sorry to say it's the last time ever that we will waste money on food here. Someone should be tasting the food coming out of the kitchen because then maybe they'd fix it! read more
