Our Project: Pool, spa, decking remodel. Angels Pools was a recommendation from a friend. We reached out online, answered a few project questions, included a photo of current pool/spa, and immediately received a response and our first meeting was scheduled with Raymond. Of course our simple wants ultimately turned into what we truly desired in this remodel. Raymond was amazing. He was an excellent communicator which earned him bonus points from the start. Not always knowing the questions to ask, Raymond was very confident in his knowledge, informative with our options, and very patient with us. He always remained professional and respectful when he had to suggest that what we wanted might not work out, or if we had to decline options that were too costly. Most importantly, his quote was extremely detailed and everything was always transparent. We liked that Angels Pools is a local family owned company with all of their own employees, no subs!! We knew they were the pool company for us. Contract was signed, project starts, and thats when we really got to see this powerhouse team work their magic. Most requests, questions and concerns at this stage were filtered thru Arlene, Office Mgr. She was awesome and probably had the toughest job of handling just about everything with exception of coming out and remodeling the pool herself. As demo days are not fun for anyone, we were amazed at how quickly the process took, and how many team members were onsite to make that happened. One team would go and others would come in depending on the scope of work needed. Junior being the Project Mgr was both kind in his demeanor, professional and kept the ball rolling smoothly throughout the entire project. In the closing stretch there were a couple of small hiccups that were addressed very quickly, all resulting in a beautifully remodeled pool, spa, and paver deck. We are so happy and are very much appreciative of Angel and his entire team. We have already and will continue to recommend Angel's Pools to friends, family and anyone that's asks. This would be the second time using "Angels Pools." The first involved raising the deep end to 6' w adding pebble vs. plaster. Loved the job. Pool looked great. The second time we opted not to proceed w an upgrade which had involved adding a spa. A budget decision, timing. My desire to leave a review was based on the company's representative and our experience w him (Raymond). First, he was not a salesman. I explained the job. Raymond listened, asked clarification questions (to be expected). He took the time to walk me through the various options/ details associated to the steps necessary for our project. But, my favorite part of the experience came w the project bid sheet. It contained pricing for each phase of the project vs. a typical blind bid (no price details for the step). Now most projects should detail costs w phases, but more than not this is void, leaving the homeowner to guess. Not with Angels. Angels Pools INC. more than 5 Stars. Our leaking pool repairs. We have lived in our house for over 40 years and this pool was here when we purchased it. So is an older pool installation. We have never had this issue before. Our pool had a leak that was leaking about 1-2 inches of water in a 24-hr. time frame. Our pool is 18' x 32' with approx. 24000 - 25000 gal. We looked into some of the different causes by checking the internet for the most common causes. It would be either structural or plumbing. The Wife and I started to check the plumbing from the skimmer to the pump. Still not finding anything. Then it must be structural. WE WERE in over our heads. We went back to the computer and started to find companies that could help. Got on Angie's List. Located both a Pool leak detection company and a Pool Company that were local to our area to affect the repairs. The Leak Detection Company confirmed our water leak was structural. The Pool Company was Angels Pools INC. Raymond Encinas came by the house and checked the pool. He was very easy to talk to and answered all of our questions and we felt very comfortable in the company's experience and expertise. We received a bid for the repairs and understood the plan to affect the repairs. Both my wife and I are lifetime Orange County residents and like and look for local companies in our community to support. Angels Pools fit the bill. We contracted them to do the repairs and replaster and tile the pool. Demo day came and we found out that the company who originally installed this pool many years ago may not have constructed it correctly. What Angels Pools uncovered was that the original rebar at the surface across the entire bottom of the pool. Was compromised. Angels Pools and Raymond gave us options to solve the issues. Again, a great pool company. We made our choice of the options short of just filling in the hole and planting grass. Angels Pool reframed the bottom of the pool and refinished the bottom of the pool which made it approx. 5-6" shallower. (not a problem). They installed a new skimmer which failed the pressure test and the main drain needed to be brought up to code for today's pools. We had chosen a Pebble finish for the plaster and new tile. Since they have completed work on the pool. We have no leaks. Pool looks amazing. We can't tell how much we appreciate the crews who work for Angels Pools. They took care of our backyard and the areas around it. Kept it clean and the debris to a minimum. We had neighborhood issues with the street sweeping days and trash pickup, but we managed it just fine. The craftsmanship is beyond what we could imagine. We found out that this company does all aspects of the repairs in house. They demo, repair, finish and tile the pool all inhouse. There are not enough adjectives I can come up with to describe how my wife and I feel about this company. If you have read through this long review, then you should give Angels Pools Inc a long look and consideration for your pool remodel and refinishing. In looking back at this event and repairs both my wife and I are so glad and relieved that we picked Angels Pools Inc. We highly recommend them for your pool repairs and remodeling. I called several places prior to calling Angels and either never got a return call or they couldn't handle the tile and resurfacing. After my first call to Angels they schedule Edward to come out and later that evening he sent me a quote. He even answered my questions late at night and on the weekend. It made it easy to sign a contract. Once they started the work I received a daily call from either jasmine or Arlene with updates of what was being done that particular day. I tried calling over 20 pool companies to get estimates to redo my coping and tile. 3 companies sent estimators to measure and provide estimates. I only received 1 proposal. It was from Raymond. I guess the project was too small for everyone else. Raymond was very professional. Provided several options. I was very impressed with him. So impressed that I asked if he could provide a proposal to demo and pour all new hardscape, add a fire pit, an elevated deck, all new drainage, recessed lighting, build a gazebo, and re paint all the rock work. He was here the next day with a foreman to take measurements and had a revised proposal that evening. Again I was impressed. Then came the big ask. I demanded that they complete the entire project in 4 weeks for a 4th of July party I was hosting. This time I needed assurances from Angel. Angel came out the next day to review. He added great insight and we made some positive modifications. He promised me he would have it done in time. Demolition went great. I was very confident with the crew. Then I left the country for 3 weeks. Scheduled to return on July 2, expecting to have to scramble with last minute stuff before the party. Angel and Raymond communicated with me almost every day. They stayed on schedule. They got everything done on time. And when I returned, the backyard was all set up and ready for the party. I could not have dreamed of a better outcome. Do not use this company. Please. Huge red flags. They used to be amazing. I've used them for a couple of jobs (new hard scape, all new pool equipment, new tile, new electrical, new plumbing, new water feature, new pebble sheen, new bbq, new fire pit, lots of brickwork, demo several planters/concrete and more), also referred them to friends and clients, real estate agents, etc. Had a small repair job that took literally dozens of phone calls, over twenty emails, nearly a month plus of correspondence and numerous texts to coordinate. Red flag number 1. Red flag number 2. Asked for a copy of their updated insurance, suppose to be standard practice for any contractor, they REFUSED, telling me, to "trust us, we have it." This really should have been the deal breaker for me but I so needed this work done and still felt confident about my other personal experiences with them, so they finally scheduled a time for the work to be completed. Red flag number 3. First day they scheduled a three hour window. After the first hour passed, I emailed, then again after two hours, called after two and a half hours, after three hours, all ghosted, no response, no reply, no call back. Red flag number 4, I really should have cut the cord, but following morning of the no show/ghost, receive a text from Angel's Pools apologizing....so sorry about yesterday, blah, blah, blah, etc, They say guy is in your area and can be there in fifteen minutes. I'm not home and say that time won't work. They say, tell what works for you and we promise, we'll be there, I say give me an hour. They say, great, sorry again, he'll be there today. Red flag 5,324. If you are still reading, forty minutes later, they say, our guy says it's cloudy and it needs to be sunny to install the mastic/caulk. I send them a pic of my spa in full sun. They say, oh sorry, we can still do the job today, no problem, our guy will there shortly. Let me ruin the suspense. They. Didn't. Show. AGAIN. AGAIN. Please be smarter than me, I beg you, when they show you at the beginning they are incapable of the smallest job, believe them. Don't waste your time. Look elsewhere. Please. I do not recommend this company. They lie! We called to request an estimate for a spa addition to our existing pool. Raymond quoted us a price range between 18k-25k over the phone. In person he quoted a range of 30k-35k; a big difference! We still were willing to receive a written estimate which Raymond said he would email me by the end of the week. He also left me his card and said to call him if I had any further questions. Raymond came to our home on 2/24/21 and we have yet to receive a written quote as he promised. I have called and texted him and no response. My husband called the main office and was told they are not taking on any new projects and Raymond will call him back.. What!? Why did Raymond come to our home with a trainee and take measurements and say he would have a written quote within a few days if they weren't taking new projects? What a waste of time! We needed a pool company that could repair multiple cracks in an existing pool (10+ years old). Angels Pools had great reviews and while we had other bids, Angels won our business. They were able to start fairly soon after chosen and completed the entire job one week ahead of schedule. All persons on their staff were professional and worked very well. People who used Angels were saying that their pool took half the time as their neighbors and that there were workers on site almost every day. I found this all to be true. I even went and visited someone's house that had used Angel, looked at their pool and asked them in person what their experience was like. Although we had delays beyond anyone's control (mostly due to being in the middle of the massive rain season we had '22/'23) the total time of construction was still just a little over four months. We had plans drawn up for a complete backyard remodel that included the pool. Our decision to go with Angel's Pools for a significant portion of the remodel was based on price, communication, and reviews. Edward, who wrote the proposal, was extremely efficient. He was prompt with returning my phone call, surveying the job site, and submitting their bid. The proposal was detailed and very clearly written. The initial impression left no doubt on who we felt most confortable with to remodel our pool. I needed trust and confidence in a contractor. Construction projects come not just with financial concerns but also with emotional challenges. It can be extremely stressful. From the initial contact with Edward on the proposal to the interaction with Jose, who is the owner and who supervises the construction, we could not have been happier! We had a few minor issues that were unforeseeable but Jose was there to calm any concerns and work through those issues. I requested five change orders during the construction and Edward was always fair and consistent with pricing. Jose and the crews were always timely and pushed hard to meet their timelines. Jose was extremely cooperative with all the other sub-contractors I hired for other portions of the project. Their technical skill level was great. We had to have some concrete repaired around our pool deck and after finally finding a contractor to make the repairs my wife and I decided we should get the pool re-plastered at the same time. I contacted several pool services, but Angels Pools got back to us right away. They provided a very reasonable quote and were able to coordinate with the concrete team on short notice to get everything done within a few weeks. The pool is over 30 years old and really needed some TLC and Angels Pools came through on every issue. They even repaired some plumbing problems that really helped the jets in the hot tub. I can't thank Jose and his entire crew at Angel's Pools enough for the beautiful pool and spa that they built for us. The workmen were always on time or earlier and focused. We were also working with a second company for the rest of the backyard as we had initially contracted with them to redo the hardscape. When we decided to add a pool afterwards, it was deflating to realize that our contractor didn't build pools...but, we searched and decided on Angels Pools to work with us. And as precarious as it is to work with 2 different companies, Jose made it all work! The only delays were on my part as we had to wait for special ordered coping and hardscape but if it hadn't been for that, I'm confident that the pool would have been completed from being dug out to filled and ready to swim in a little over 2 weeks! We started a projected 2 1/2 month pool remodeling project with Angels Pools Inc. in early July 2022 and did not have our final walk through until mid January 2023. Some delays were beyond their control and others, I feel, were a result of bad project management. There was poor communication concerning the project's daily/weekly/monthly process and it was usually handled by an office staff employee, who has no pool construction experience and therefore could not answer many of my questions or address several of the problems that occurred during construction. Angels Pools did a great job removing a diving board, saw cutting around the base, and patching the existing concrete. it wasn't to complicated of a job, but the diving board was installed in the 70s. As work progressed, is was determined the base was full of concrete, so out came the sledge hammer and sawzall. After they muscled the base out of the deck the crew did a good job matching the salt finish deck. Their deck cuts were clean, and I thought the price was very reasonable. Chose Angel's after 3 other in-home estimates. They are responsive when any questions or issues came up. Satisfied with the quality of the work so far after 1 month, and would recommend. There were some delays and so it took longer than quoted but they did inform me. Pool color was not 100% as shown in the brochure so choose your pebble color wisely. Some parts of the surface are rough and not as smoothly paved as the rest. Majority is good and overall satisfied and would recommend. read more

We love our "new" pool!! We had a few estimates to choose from and definitely are happy we chose Angels. Edward is the only salesperson who followed up with us after his bid. He was thorough and worked completely within our budget, kept in touch, and patiently answered all our questions. Once we started the process Julie and Jasmine in the office kept us up on everything happening. They were always a phone call away and had remarkable follow through. The crews who came to do the work were such hard workers. They were friendly, polite, and always cleaned up before they left for the day. After the job was completed we noticed a couple minor issues with our sidewalk grout, called the office, and Angel himself came to check it out. He immediately sent out his crew to fix it. We were referred to Angel's Pools by a friend who was happy with them, and we could not be hapier with the way our project turned out. They mapped our pool and hardscape to the landscaper's plans perfectly, adjusting and problem solving where needed along the way - all while communicating with me fully and regularly. Pricing was in the middle range but fair (and in hindsight excellent for the work quality) and the only change orders were initiated by us. Angel and his team are great - friendly and good at what they do. They were here every day aside from a few rainy ones - I was never chasing them down and our project was constantly progressing.
