Disgusting; chicken barely tasted done and was lukewarm. Oh, and there was zero flavor. We moved out here recently but before we moved out here we frequented this place when we would visit. We have been here about 2 times prior to tonight since our move and the food has been okay. Not great, but okay... tonight, my husband brought the food home and it was absolutely disgusting. He came home with extra fries he said he was given due to the wait. Honestly, they could have kept those fries. We will not be returning and will look for another place that has spicy chicken sandwiches in the area.! Amazing service but food was mediocre. I prefer Dave's. I got the x-hot and it was so incredibly hot and I eat habaneros and Serranos like nothing with like every meal. It is stupid hot. I saw the stars here and after reading the reviews determined that a lot of the bad stars were for the spice level (which is clearly stated) The stars wasn't a good enough reason to not try it. I got a country combo #2 (Chicken tenders and fries) and a mild Angry Mac. Both were excellent and the service was excellent and fast . I feel bad this place has a sign posted No refunds if the spice level is to hot and you don't like your food. I think we all should know what level of spice we can handle. GO TRY IT!! This was a weird one! We love spicy food so we wanted to check out one of the Nashville-style hot chicken places popping up. About a month ago a new place opened near me in Carlsbad - Main Chick. We swung by the opening but even at 10:30 AM there was a super long line so on a whim we decided to take a drive out toward Temecula instead and go to our wine club for pickup (shout out to Danza Del Sol winery). I'd also been reading reviews the night before on Yelp and remembered seeing a review mentioning how sad someone was about the Oceanside location of Angry Chickz closing (restaurant next door burned down and damaged Angry Chickz too) and how they drove all the way out to Temecula to this location because they loved it so much. Long story long, we decided to try out Angry Chickz! We were the first people in I think at about 11 AM on a Saturday morning. It's in a huge parking lot/shopping area. Just down from the Famous Dave's BBQ location. Interior was relatively clean, but the soda station was already sticky/not completely cleaned up. Also, the menu sign is sitting on a table where they were prepping a bunch of sauces and stuff in front of it, so you couldn't see all of it. I suspect it's supposed to be hung up on the wall but hasn't been yet? We ordered two Combo #3s (1 Chicken Slider, 1 tender on white bread, fries) - one was ordered at medium (me) and one x-hot (husband). The X-Hot is one level down from their hottest - which supposedly they have you sign a waiver to order. They do warn you the X-Hot is made with scorpion pepper and Carolina Reaper I believe. The X-Hot is REALLY REALLY HOT, they are not joking around with this. My husband, a total pepperhead, took one bite and had that physical reaction where your face flushes and your eyes start watering even before you taste the heat. He did not finish his meal and he has a good appetite. It was just too hot. I'm betting he would not order this hot here again if we go back. They do have a bunch of signage that if your order is too spicy, too bad, they don't do refunds or remakes. I guess good for them to say it up front and people should take heed. The medium was quite spicy, without being inedible. I am happy I ordered at that level of heat. I can tell you my non-spice loving family would never be able to eat this, even at medium. It would be WAY too hot for them, so keep that in mind if you're ordering here and don't love heat. Portions are big, tons of fries. The fries are also aggressively spiced. They were apparently running short of the sauce for the chicken. I asked for more and was told I couldn't have any, even when I offered to pay for it, which is super weird. They also don't have any other sauces - no ranch (come on, really?), no honey mustard, nothing. I think this is a huge oversight and took a star off for that. They also served everything in to go containers, even eating in the restaurant when we told them we were eating in. This worked out I guess, since we did end up taking some of the giant size portion of fries home. Seating review: Fast casual. Lots of tables inside a nicely a/c'd space (important in Temecula in the summer). Chairs are slightly padded, kind of narrow, no arms thankfully! Lots of hard surfaces in this restaurant so it gets loud pretty quickly. B+ seating for me. Might return if this was closer to me, but not worth the long trip. Would probably try something else next time we're in the area. read more

Ordered medium heat tender and slider with fries, one word. Delicious. The chicken was very moist and the batter was nice and crispy but thin, the coleslaw on them was creamy and you can taste the freshness of the cabbage and carrots, the fries were very flavorful, packed with seasoning and the sauce was creamy and delightful to eat truly a 10/10. The cashier was kind greeted me as I came into the store and worked very try hard around the restaurant as my food was being made kudos to her. The restaurant was empty with no customers even with an open door and the eye catching atmosphere. Music, TV's the mural of Temecula on the wall and the colorful logo was really cool. Nothing negative whatsoever about this location, prices are great for what you get. Coming back. read more

I placed my order about 5 minutes out from the restaurant on my way home after calling and being told they don't take phone takeout orders, which is insane. I was then told order on their website or on door dash. Not wanting the up charge associate with door dash I used their site. Estimate 15 minutes. So I sit in the parking lot for an extra 5 minute expecting a text confirmation my order is complete. Nothing comes so I go inside. Cashier tells me my order isn't ready. I say it was supposed to be ready 5 minutes ago. She says "no it says pick up for 5:59" I explain it's 6:04. "Yeah your pickup is 5:59" She can't comprehend it's passed that so now I explain it like she's a child. "Oh we're behind it will be another 15 minutes" I ask for a refund. "I can't refund, You used door dash." No I used your site. "We don't have a site" yes you do and you're the one who told me to go to it. "The site goes through door dash" I show her the emails and text with their site only. I go outside call door dash no orders associated. Come back in, it's been 15 minutes. Order not ready. I get the "door dash order number" it's not real. I want a refund "can't do it" wait and try to call their fake help line in their email multiple times. 10 minutes late food not ready. Where's the manager. "I'm in charge" There HAS to be a way to refund me. "I'll call my manager" she gets told to open the drawer and give me cash. She obliges. 45 minutes after my order was placed a simple Mac and cheese with chicken still not ready as the $13.05 gets placed in my palm. Absurd! read more

I like the food here, the sandwiches and bowls are good. The spice levels are a little mixed up. I ordered spice level hot once and it came crazy hot, I was in tears. I'm Thai so I have a high spice tolerance, but they definitely messed my order up. My other complaint is that it's kind of expensive and they charge extra if you want sauce which is weird considering the prices are already pricey. Chicka chicka boom boom! Finally it's here in town! LA based chicken spot inland. This place has plenty of seating and wait time was about 15 minutes top. Chicken was served hot and had delicious flavor with the slaw. I also ordered a side Mac and cheese for $4 pretty decent can't complain. Staff were friendly and place was kept clean. Cool vibes and chill music to make for a good atmosphere. Took off one star because you have to order combos and I didn't care for the fries. We ordered meals for the whole family. All were mild or country (NO) Heat. They sent one of the items at the hottest spice level possible. A child ate it and was burned and made sick. Saw this place pop up on my IG and had to try it. I waited for them to get into the swing of things after just opening and I'm glad I did. It was not very busy, staff was friendly, and the food was delicious. I ordered the angry Mac with hot chicken, the kid at the counter warned me of the heat and I said I'm down. My kiddo ordered the two tender combo in medium and the medium is actually spicier than Dave's hot chicken. Food quality was delicious and the fries are amazing here. Definitely good stuff. Howlin Rays in LA will always be the SoCal GOAT, but angry chickz is very good. Have recently tried Dave's in Menifee, which I also gave a 4, I have to compare the two. The heat scales are different. The hot at angry is hotter than the hot at Dave's. The reaper at Dave's was hotter than the angry here. At Dave's I preferred the hot, here I prefer the medium. The chicken is definitely more flavorful here, but not as crispy as Dave's. The slaw here is waaaaaay better. I like both places for different reasons. read more

So here's the thing about this place, it's not terrible. The chicken is okay, the fries are decent, the mac (and the various bowls that incorporate it) aren't very good but it's interesting. The problem is that Dave's Hot Chicken is so much better. This chicken isn't as juicy, crispy, or flavorful as Dave's is. I've been going to both restaurants for awhile - I live closer to angry chickz, but after having them on Jack to back nights the difference is night and day. Well as far as cleanliness super clean including the bathroom so not sure what people were complaining about. This is the first time going to this location and what a disappointment. Its Fathers Day so I was excited to eat here. The staff was standing around chatting since it was kinda slow. My food& my kids food came out first my wife's about 10 minutes later. My chicken was cold. I told them it was cold& they said "what part of the food was cold?" As though it mattered. They didn't apologize or offer to make it right. I had to ask them to make me a new one& they looked bothered. It took almost 10 minutes to get a new slider which was hot but not medium spiciness it was mild& the size of 2 small chicken nuggets. there was almost nothing else on it. Very happy there's a Nashville hot chicken spot in Temecula. Service was (relatively) quick on opening day. The order was correct (got mine to-go). Spice levels were all appropriate (medium is enough to feel some heat, but not burn the tastebuds). Fries were crispy even after car ride home. Today was the grand opening and what an opening it was! They were giving out free merch to the first 100 people. Doors opened promptly at 11am and the line moved along quickly. Once at the front you were able to order your food and they gave you a choice of a sweater, sweats, shirt, or hat. Food: 5/5 Angry Chickz specializes in Nashville Hot Chicken. There are 4 combos that range from chicken sandos, to chicken on bread, to a combo of the two, and finally a rice platter. I ordered the Hangry Fix which I feel is the perfect starter sampler. (It is subtly hidden in the corner of the menu). It comes with a bed of their buttery rice, the mac n cheese, coleslaw, and 2 of their tenders diced into chunks. It's in a bowl and not quite the size of the rice platter but believe me there is more than enough for a meal. The chicken was thoroughly cooked, crispy, and hot and spicyyyyy. I got the "spicy" level heat which gave a good burn. I'll probably drop down to the medium so I can better taste the chicken. The rice was nice and buttery but make sure you eat it fast cause when it cools down it gets clumpy. It could do with a bit more flavor. Loved the mac and loved the slaw. Service: 5/5 The workers were all very attentive and happy. I was kind of bummed because the person in front of me got the last sweats and the dude giving out the merch felt so bad. I know, not his fault, but there were a lot of cutters in line (which in my case actually made a difference) and that made me pretty sad. Anyway it was nice he sympathized for me so I shook it off. My kids love angry chickz. They always enjoy the sandwiches and we get to go all the time. I noticed sometimes they mix up how spicy the sandwiches are. One time we got 2 mild combos. One came out spicier that the other one. Sometimes we order more than 3 combos with different spicy selections. It doesn't taste the way it is written on the boxes. My family manages it, so it is not a big deal. But my youngest can't finish her plate because it is too spicy for her. The sandwich was cool, the single side piece chicken tender came with a slice of bread and I was expecting Cains style buttered bread but that not what it was giving. Fries were about the best thing.
