Met my family here and we really enjoyed our food and service. We had the shrimp and crab boil bags with a drink ($40 worth of food for $18 - lunch only) and it was not disappointing. We also enjoyed the fish and chips, and rice and beans. I also want to give a shout out to the manager, Lavita and our server Deb. Service was excellent even though they were short staffed (thank goodness the cooks showed up). Angry Crab has upgraded their menu with great lunch specials, nice deserts, better coleslaw, and for the ladies, nice bowls for the sides. I have been waiting for this for over a year. The day we planned our Arizona trip I knew a seafood boil was in my future. I ordered online from their website and DoorDash delivered my food in less than 40 minutes. I would probably have given 5 stars even though I was missing my rice and bread (extra charges) that I ordered but I planned this meal out for over a year and for the amount I spent I expected it to be perfect. The crawfish, shrimp, snow crab and lobster tail were all great and the trifecta sauce medium heat was great but so much went to waste without the rice to mix in with the it and the bread to sop it up. Decided to try this place out to see what all the hype was about. The food was delicious and came out pretty quickly. It was nice and hot when it arrived. We ordered the Fried Clams as an appetizer to hold us until the meal arrived. The fried clams were very tasty and reminded me of having them at school many years ago. Good memories. Then the main course arrived. I had the jambalaya. The menu stated it was a spicy dish but I didn't really get the level of spice I was expecting. The sausage in the dish was pretty scarce but there was plenty of shrimp resulting is a really flavorful dish. The drinks were ok. I pretty much order an old fashioned wherever I go and this was a place I probably shouldn't have. The size of the drink was about the size of a shot and a half glass and was, in my opinion, no representation of an old fashioned. The restaurant itself was interesting. They have a bar that you are able to sit at but there are only about 5-6 stools. We opted for a booth. As we sit, they put a large sheet of paper on the table and inform us that for the boils and some other dishes, this is the plate and our hands are the utensils. My family of four aren't strangers to a seafood boil, or a messy meal! Neither ever disappoint! Yes, it's messy. If you want a prissy, no mess meal, go to the Salt Cellar. They do all the work for you there. If you want big flavor and you don't mind making a big mess, this is your place. We've never had a bad server, it's not 5 star service but it's fine, they refill your drink and bring out your food timely. To be fair, we also don't steer off the boil menu, we haven't tried the burgers or rolls or anything other than the seafood boil. This was my first time being here. I am not a shellfish eater, and wondered if there would be anything I could eat and enjoy. There was! The wings were excellent. The beans and rice were well seasoned. The Cajun fries were on point. I didn't try the deserts, but if you are a cheesecake or carrot cake lover, you are in luck. This place can get busy for a Friday night. We arrived around 5 o'clock because we were in the area. There is seating indoor, outdoor, and at the bar. Our hostess Bonnie was very nice and conversational. It was our first time and she gave a few suggestions. We ordered Cajun shrimp and she provided detail in which sauce was made of certain bases/spices. I wish I knew the sauce on the side was $1.50 more but it was not disclosed until the checked arrived. We got sauce on the side as suggested due to the possible intensity of "medium" vs "mild". This was a way we can adjust to our taste buds but in reality the medium was not spicy at all in our perspective. Our fries and hush puppies arrived first and our shrimp boil did not arrive until we devoured our fries. Beware if it gets busy the kitchen can take slightly longer to get food on the tables. I am not someone who wants to leave negative reviews for businesses during the pandemic when I know they are struggling, but seeing as I can't get in contact with anyone via phone, Instagram, or their website I feel I have no other choice. I don't want to leave this review up forever either, but I want acknowledgement and I leave this as true feedback. I am open to removing my review if they at least take my concerns seriously. They advertised a Mother's Day special for a week before the day that I planned on. I called ahead and was told I couldn't order ahead and had to order 30 minutes before I wanted to pick up. I got my mom excited to pick up and by the time we were ready no one picked up the phone. You can see the photo of all the calls I made. On top of that, their online ordering crashed so we were unable to do so. And ok - I can forgive you for being overwhelmed. The next part is what I can't forgive. We ended up driving to the location to try to order in person and were met with a giant crowd that were not wearing any masks and were piled on top of each other without social distance. One man was coughing in line. I no longer wanted to order from Angry Crab as it just didn't feel safe. We ended up leaving (and we had planned on waiting 30-40 minutes in the parking lot if needed before we realized it would be so poorly regulated). We would have stayed if we hadn't seen that crowd on top of each other. Here is my feedback: if you are going to advertise a special that you hope will bring in a large amount of people, you need to be better organized. You need to have a system that will allow for online ordering to be spaced out at different times and where people can order ahead. You also should be enforcing wearing masks or at least keeping distance. Or, consider taking orders where people can wait in their cars instead of piling people coughing on top of each other. Maybe on a regular day this isn't a huge deal, but again this was related to a special they were hoping would bring an influx of people. And it did, but in an unsafe and disorganized manner. Delicious boil, customer services is great ! I would recommend to eat inside if you get annoyed by flies. I got the boil for two and it was more than enough for two people. The 3 spicy level which is "i can't feel my lips" will make you break a sweat. Coming from someone who loves spicy food this was the ridiculous spicy level which is the highest level of spice on the menu is exactly that. Ridiculous lol the kind of spice that will probably make your stomach hurt haha. But overall I had a great time, it was bomb. We grabbed dinner here on busy Friday night. It was like the first day restaurant could have people inside again. It was very busy. We tried to call the order in but the phone were always busy. My husband placed our order in and we went across the street to grab stuff at Safeway. We got a call 20 minutes later and our food was done. We ordered catfish plate and shrimp plate. Catfish was really filling and seasoned perfect. The shrimp plate was underwhelming. We got like 6 shrimp. This plate wasn't really worth it. Won't order the fried shrimp again.
