I liked this place. There are NO utensils. Which isn't a bad thing, just something you should know going in. I ordered the angry crab Bloody Mary which comes with a crab leg inside of it. The Bloody Mary was good. Crab was good. I ordered mine as a 2 on their spicy scale and I didn't find it that spicy (they claimed it would be spicy even at a 2). It's not a place you'd call someone and say "omg you have to go here" but is worth checking out for sure read more

My family and I went in last weekend for lunch. They weren't busy. We were waiting on two more people. The waitress served us drinks, never came back to check on us, our other people came. Waitress still ignored us. I asked for another server, still nothing. Another waitress walked by and ignored us when we tried to get their attention. Finally got fed up after about an hour had gone by and no service. Manager came over, with a bit of an attitude not seeing our frustration. We paid for our drinks and left. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I'm originally from New York, and this is the closest place like home to me!! My entire family comes to either this location or the Alma school one. Their service is always casual and great! Just what we like. If you go in at least once a month, someone will remember your name. Just the the tv show "cheers"! Haha. Funny but true. It's like going back home, sitting around the table, and having someone in the family throw a bunch of seafood in the pot, ya have a few drinks, laugh a little and just enjoy yourself. Not impressed! $90 for the Shack Mixed Bag. When we recieved our bag and an empty bucket we didn't get any utensils. When we asked for some we were told they were being washed, but the party next to us all received everything they needed minutes later. When we asked a second time we were each given a fork. The Shack Bag only had half of one ear of corn and one potato the size of a golf ball; how is this a meal? In all, we will not be back, and we will be sure to pass on our experience with everyone we know. Also, $11.50 (during happy hour) for a top shelf long island ice tea in a pint jar was a too pricey, but cudoes to the bar tender, it was made correctly. Such a sad tale. I usually like angry crab but this time the oysters were old and tasted fishy. They were gritty and left a metallic taste in my mouth. We took both the char grilled and raw oysters back. I had to spit my bite out on a napkin. Then we ordered a pound of shrimp with a potato for 50c and sausage... look at the size of my potato in the picture. Yep. I didn't eat it out of principle. Last time I'm going here. Crap food. The parking lot was a mess but... They were prompt when I walked in to pick up my order, They were very nice, accommodating and the lady who took my order did not rush me and explained everything very well that I asked about during a time that I know she was very busy. We got the 0 heat trifecta sauce in our boil and we ate it about an hour or so after picking it up and everything was still amazing. We will return. We've been here countless times . Tonight's dinner is a disappointment. We ordered 2 lbs of "LIVE " crawfish and some others but crawfish came out tasted funny , seemed like 1/3 of the pound are dead ". It'has that rotten smell ! So the waitress changed the live to the frozen ones ! We ended up did not touch those 2 bls of frozen ! We are there to enjoy "fresh " not rotten or frozen ! I came home with an upset stomach the whole night . Prices were okay. Food was okay. Service was sub-par. No drink refills offered. We had to ask for napkins. Forks are plastic, so no good for digging into crab legs. Seafood choices are just that. Sides are extra. Any seafood you order is somewhat spicy as their basic choice, then you can choose to have it more spicy, but not less spicy. Seafood is served in plastic bags...no plates offered. My husband enjoyed his BBQ, but not enough to choose this place for BBQ. We won't be back. I've read other reviewers raves about Barb. Either got a different Barb or she was having an off night. Besides the complaints listed above about the service, I had ordered cornbread which I never got. I ended up calling her over and asking her to make sure to remove it from our ticket. Today my wife and I went to this establishment on Guadalupe and Hawes in Mesa. We were seated and told someone would be right with us. We literally waited 10 minutes and no one came to even take our drink order. Another family walked in and within 20 seconds the waitress was taking their order. We got up and asked for a manager and here EXCUSE was they were doing shift change. The manager didn't even try to make this right. As a matter of fact she was down right sarcastic. Funny thing is the other family was waited on within seconds. The manager was upright rude, no apology and full of excuses. Needless to say we will NEVER visit this establishment again. Every time I've come here our food has been great. Usually I get the seafood boil which is always great but recently I decided to try the shrimp and crab sandwich and my gf got the fish and chips. The sandwich was delicious, the fish n chips tasted good but they gave us like 3 medium sized pieces and just filled the rest of the space with fries. Angry Crab...yeah it is consistent across many spots. I have now been to 3 of them. The sauce spice levels are spot on. One is able to add items into your bag. Went there on a wim with the family and you walk in and it looks clean and like it would be a ton of fun. It was both, the food I thought was really good. Seafood here in the valley is truly a hit or miss, unless your willing to spend $30 a plate. I loved the fact that you ate right off the table cloth it felt like I was in Louisiana even though I have never been! :) Its god for the kids, good for beer and they look like they can mix ups some pretty good cocktails as well. We had the King Crab legs and they were delicious. We were going to get the shrimp, but you can get shrimp pretty much anywhere so we splurged. Wasn't nuts about the oysters but that's probably because we had the best oysters known to man just outside of San Fran so we are a little spoiled.
