I love me a bag full of crab legs! 2nd time here & again fantastic. The trifecta seasoning is what I was recommended & it does not disappoint. We got hot in one bag & medium in the other, the medium may have been a mistake as it was pretty damn hot too. Crab legs, shrimp, lobster, taters, & corn, all really good. The draft beer selection is really good for a typical restaurant, lots of local brews. My only knock is that you have to ask for almost everything.... both times I've been. We asked for plates, silverware, bibs, scissors, butter for the crab legs. Not that big of a deal for me but I think it would be nice for a waiter/waitress to go over all the tools to attack the crab to see what you need as opposed to having to ask for everything. Seated quickly, server attended us quickly. We were given sodas that were flat, literally, it's like a bottle was left open all night and used for drinks. It wasn't just the coke it was the Dr. PEPPER also. Secondly, we decided to order cajun fries 10 minutes after placing our order, unfortunately we didn't get fires till about half hour later and our food was done, on top of that they were just regular fries. I went with a party of 13 to celebrate a birthday. Everyone really enjoyed their food. I ordered snow crab with Trifecta sauce and got the wimpy flavor. This had a little kick to it still, but I would not want it spicier. I normally like spicy food, but I wanted to taste the crab legs so this was perfect. I also had calamari to start, which everyone loved. I wanted to try their BBQ so I took some brisket home, which was also great. One of the sides I got with that was cornbread. I normally don't care for cornbread at all, but I couldn't believe how good it was. Most of the cornbread I have tried has been dry and bland. This was moist and delicious! I also want to add that the mixed drinks we all ordered were nice and strong(how we like them). We all can't wait to go back! read more

Awesome weekend lunch place! You get your food served in bags and your hands serve as utensils. You get a bib and eat away! They have a vegetarian option which is boiled vegetables which were very good! I have an allergy to onion and garlic and they were very accommodating. Have been a few times, always great food & great service! There is something for everyone including burgers & salads. Had some fried gator with cajun mustard that was a great choice for a different taste. Nothing too strange and wasn't heavily breaded. Also boiled crayfish, shrimp & scallops. All were good, but the crayfish I wasn't too excited about as the only meat is in the tail. They were not cleaned out either so the head wasn't edible. The claws were all removed, also. The shrimp made up for it with their size and easy to peel skin. The scallops were a good finish, not a lot, but they were easy to eat and soaked up the flavor really well. If you're messy dont worry- you get gloves, a bib and a roll of napkins. read more

Well, I have been back to Angry Crab Shack 3 times since my last review and they have definitely made some changes (for the good) to their BBQ. Brisket sliders were amazing, ribs were amazing. Their seafood in a bag never disappoints. We order the King Crab legs and shrimp with Trifecta and a 2 for heat (2 is just perfect for us). My oldest son went for number 4 because he loves spicy food and boy he could barely handle it but loved it!!! I definitely recommend Angry Crab to everyone I know who need a seafood fix while trapped in the desert. read more

Went for lunch. Been there a bunch before and has been great.This time ordered a rice bowl, rice was under cook. It was crunchy. It ruins the whole dish. Your want the rice cooked so it soaks juices. Don't do it!! If a manager says something to the staff... Food is awesome... Good portions and piping hot... However I got an order to go because of quarantine... Prices are higher which I understand but the vegetables were crunchy and undercooked, shrimp was over done, and a lot less trificta sauce. I waited in the restaurant for my food. When I got it, it should have been piping hot. I live 5 mins away. The crab was lukewarm and used a lot less trificta sauce when I made it home. I have been here many times and they have been awesome but lately, not so much. I called to get my money back for the shrimp. I should have asked for the money I spend on the crab too. I use to love going to the original location in Mesa but the last 2 times I've been I've gone to this one in East Mesa and left disappointed. I ordered 3lbs of king crab today and it was over cooked and did not taste fresh. Very sad... The king crab was very poor quality and not the larger and fresher legs I've had in the past. My wife and her grandmother had the BBQ since they don't like seafood which was mediocre at best in their opinion. Too bad something that was once so awesome is now so terrible. read more

I'm from Texas and the best restaurant crawfish is at Razoos and the prices are much better. Angry crab is subpar. My husband and I will order our crawfish bring them home & doctor them up! The trifecta seasoning is okay but they simply lack flavor. You have to add loads of seasoning including salt. read more

Not enough meat for the price. You only get 1 lbs which is not really a lot and you have to pay extra for other stuff to go with it. Plus I asked for no spice and they brought me out a really spicy bag. They said it was because I didn't say "no base" apparently they use old bay seasoning and something else spicy for their base. Was extremely disappointed with the way my order was handled today. I placed an order online for pick up, when I show up to the restaurant there are a lot of people outside and some filling the entry area pretty much blocking it (NOT SOCIAL DISTANCING). People were frustrated and were trying to get inside so they could ask for an update on their pick order. No staff was outside to direct anyone, it was a huge bottle neck. Not even 10 minutes into waiting the manager comes out to yell at everyone to stay outside because she is at capacity. I am sorry but how about you organize the customers and call people up so they can have their questions answered?? I have a simple solution for you Angry Crab, invest in some stanchions, some signage and place an employee outside lining up and directing guests as they show up. This way you KEEP CUSTOMERS SAFE by giving them the space to social distance and provide more efficient customer service. You're putting your customers at risk by asking them to wait in such a small waiting area and entry area. And please answer your phone! Oh and 15 or so guests were seen exiting the restaurant with NO MASKS. They should have not been allowed in. Masks are now a requirement in case you missed the memo. I went to pick up another order at the Angry Crab on Alma School and they had a sign outside that read "MASKS REQUIRED" get on the same page! I am sorry for the LONG rant but it was extremely frustrating to see a blatant disrespect for the mask and social distancing protocol especially with what our state is dealing with right now. read more

My husband and I fell in love with this unique place. The seafood was amazingly fresh and delicious. We didn't try the BBQ but we plan to return. The true experience comes with eating with your hands. Unlike Joe's Crab-shack or Red Lobster, bibs are more than just an ambiance accessory. We cracked open one pound each of crabs legs, shrimp, and clams between the two of us. No plates, no silverware, just hands. It arrived in plastic bags.
