Huge fan of this cocktail bar! I visited on a Sunday with a group of 9 and we were able to immediately get seated on on Anina's patio. The tables are fairly large, so it's a great place to bring a bigger party. Both the indoors and the patio are very cute - lots of plants, picnic tables, and string lights outside and a beautiful, well-designed bar inside. The atmosphere leans towards casual, and it's VERY dog friendly. We went in to order at the bar (no table service on the patio). Anina has three different Spritzes on their menu, so I was torn on which to order, but I ended up choosing the Emilia Spritz #2 - absolutely delicious and so unique! I also had a sip of the Seafoam Spritz, which I thought was equally great and very refreshing. My friends enjoyed all their cocktails as well, including the Royal Scam (surprisingly smokey) and Unfair Trade (great if you're looking for something more caffeinated and less sweet). My group of 8 came around 7:30pm on a Thursday night and there was still a lot of space! The inside is like a greenhouse looking area with lots of tables and heaters so it get hot in there. We also saw a lot of couples so definitely cute for a date especially in the heart of Hayes Valley! They do have an auto 20% service charge and kick you out of the indoor to patio area when it gets to later in the night (sorry don't remember the exact time). We ordered the Avila (grapefruit tequila mix) and the Paisley Park (ginger vodka mix). Avila definitely tasted better and was sweet; the other one sent me into a spiral. Meh. Location - 1 star for being in the neighborhood. Obviously will support anything in my area because that's what community is all about. Drinks - Had 2 Salad Days because I needed my vegetables for the day. Since there's salad in the name I'm counting that as a vegetable. I'm a sucker for a gin cocktail so this was on the order up. Tried the salad days which was incredibly refreshing and the rip torn page which was strong with deep and a fruity punch. There's a lot of interesting stuff to try here including the spritzes which i saw on a lot of tables. 2 things to note - There's a mandatory 20% surcharge which i'm in favor of in principle, but it makes for a $20 drink with taxes. I went to Anina on a Friday evening with a girlfriend for drinks before dinner nearby in Hayes Valley. The side of the bar has a cute outdoor space that is covered and has plenty of picnic tables for large groups. We stayed indoors at the bar, and the cocktails were delicious. I recommend this stop before or after dining nearby, especially if you find yourself waiting to be seated at a restaurant in the area. We asked our server what they recommended and they just told us to scan the QR code and said "I'll come back when you're ready." We waited for a while and our server never came back. Overall, an alright bar to get a drink with friends. I went here a total of 3 times. The first two times were fine. I went both during the day and night, and sat in the outdoor patio area. They have you order at the bar and pick up your drinks there. The downside is that there are no food orders at all. But the drinks were okay overall. They do have beer pitchers and shareable cocktail sizes. After a certain time, they ask everyone to come indoors cause the patio closes after a certain time. It does tend to get a little crowded when everyone comes indoor. They also check your IDs when you enter, usually. I would give a 1 star if I didn't go the first two times. The third time I went on Thursday evening, the worker screamed at us to take our IDs out. No one was checking and someone came over when we sat down. We were a group of 6-7 people and we're taking out our IDs. But the worker screamed at my friend again when's he didn't take her ID out of her wallet and just showed through the plastic in the wallet. It was a very unpleasant experience getting screamed at to take out our IDs. The bar was also not crowded at all so not loud that one needs to scream. This bar is SO cute! They have a beautiful outdoor seating area in the back that's covered (so you're protected from the cold) with tons of plants. Honestly great photo spot if you're into that! Drinks wise, my friends and I got both punch bowls. The tequila one was a bit dry (probably because of the aperol?), and the vodka one was fantastic. Honestly really enjoyed both of them. I'd say one punch bowl is good for 4ish people if everyone has 2-3 glasses. One more thing to note, we came on a Friday night and they limited us to 90 min per table. Anina is the first bar I ever visited when I moved to SF, and it will always hold a special place in my heart! The vibes when you walk in are electric and energizing, but not in an obnoxious or in-your-face way. The bulk of seating is on their covered patio which--in the best possible way--feels like a bougie greenhouse. The walls are decorated with ornate greenery, fed plenty of sunlight by the translucent roof which doubles as natural light for us humans. Plus, dogs are allowed on the patio! Their cocktails and spritzes seem to be what everyone gravitates towards, and for good reason! The Near Dark (a vanilla hibiscus blend with vodka) and the Royal Scam (passionfruit and rum) are my two favorites, and I've been eyeing their sharable punchbowls for a while now. The staff are always friendly and speedy, though there are usually only a handful of them spread between the two rooms and bar. Prices are pretty reasonable for the area, especially considering the unique twists and ingredients they put on their cocktails. Came on a Friday night with some girlfriends and was treated terribly by an older gentleman with white hair. It started off by my friend asking if he could wipe down the table since it was sticky and got a response from the old man saying "What does it look like I'm doing" as he just stood there with his rag checking our ID's. As he was checking our ID's he made a comment saying "you guys are well over your age". Not too sure what he meant by that as he was the only one around us with white hair. After checking out ID's he proceeded to wipe the table down, pushing the menu harshly towards one of my friends as if he was trying to make a statement. The rest of the evening was further disappointed by the old man because of his disrespect and lack of attention when we went to the bar to order and to close out our checks. We had to remind him to close out our checks as he proceeded to move onto his next task. It's unfortunate this place has terrible service.
