This is a must visit if you're in the Holland area! I was thoroughly impressed with the location, decor, and atmosphere of this waterfront gem. Located adjacent to downtown Holland, Boatwerks offers a premium sensory and culinary experience. The interior features modern wooden accents and exudes and nautical charm. The outdoor seating area is expansive and provides panoramic views of Lake Macatawa. It was a privilege to enjoy a beautiful late May day, dining al fresco, with a refreshing breeze. What a setting to enjoy some superb food. I opted for a vegetarian-friendly version of hot honey pizza. It was exquisite! The crust was crispy and flavorful. The mix of feta and honey was tantalizing, and when you add in fresh lake air, the meal was sublime. The Teriyaki Bowl was a rich mix of vegetables and protein, a large 6oz salmon piece. I truly cannot rave enough about this place. I am visiting from California and would like to visit each day of my visit to try a new dish and enjoy the stunning views. Service is friendly, helpful, and efficient. They take the time to answer questions and provide recommendations to enhance your dining experience. Boatwerks far exceeded my expectations. After flying overnight from San Diego, landing in Detroit, and then driving to Holland, enjoying delicious food at Boatwerks, in the sun, breeze blowing, it was pure bliss.

Such a nice location!! We stopped by for a small snack, unfortunately just too cold for us to sit outside that day Good service and that appetizer was really good !

Boatwerks is the waterfront destination in Holland, MI for elevated American fare. The location is the biggest attraction here. The menu changes regularly, so there's always something new to try. Because the menu changes consistently, the dishes are often hit or miss.. most dishes were dry or lacked flavor. Definitely worth visiting in the summer for a drink and app on the patio overlooking lake macatawa.

It has been a very long time since I have been to a restaurant and the server completely altered our experience. I asked could my toddlers food come out with the appetizer and her response was "if it's ready," as she shrugged her shoulders. I also asked would it be possible to do all strawberries for my toddler sided, so she doesn't waste the other fruit... Her response was that it already comes premade and they can't separate the fruit. As it was brought out to the table (as we can see in the picture) it separated. Lastly, Annie asked the other tables around us if they would like dessert... We were not offered dessert at all. I failed to mention that we came to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday as we are traveling out of town. We had a great experience with the other staff; from the host, other servers, to Grant (who ran our food out), to who I think was the manager on the floor. We always choose to be peaceful in the restaurant, so I chose to not speak to anyone in management. They offer a percentage off of your meal for your birthday with a valid ID. I was so frustrated that I did not even want to mention we were there celebrating. The restaurant was very nice and I love you have a beautiful view while dining. The food was eh. I ordered the shrimp tacos and it was all breading. The shrimp was completely overcooked. Our crab cakes were decent. My husband ordered the tortellini and was not happy with it as it. My daughter did enjoy her pizza. If we were local in the area, we probably will not be back

The view, how can you go wrong with the view from sitting outside? If I were rating the view, I would give 10 stars! Food: I had a burger, which I am convinced was a Gordon Foods frozen patty, fries were OK. Service: We saw our server three times 1. Take drink order 2. Deliver Drinks 3. Deliver Bill They must use food runners here, which makes sense as I imagine summers are incredibly busy here. Although the view was nice, we were next to some flowers which were being enjoyed by bees. Thankfully neither of us are allergic but, how scary if you are allergic to bees. I have learned to not swat at bees and they will leave you alone, which they did. All and all this was a "Meh" and the absolute only reason I would return is for the view.

We had a fantastic group (8) outing on the Boatwerks patio. The patio is modern, upscale, wraps around the building, well-spaced, and clean. Steve was attentive, warm, and eager to please; Steve was the best server we've had all summer. Drink menu has something for everyone. Specifically, we enjoyed the Basil Lemonade; it was refreshing and different. We enjoyed the chicken sandwich, salad, salmon, burger, tacos, ravioli, and everything else we ordered. Request Steve, sit outside, enjoy the view, stick with/order the basics, and enjoy your evening.

    12 oz steak & sides for $20!

Get there right now!--there's a great deal going on: Twelve ounce steak, mashed potatoes, and veggie of the day for $20! Not sure how long this will last. Otherwise, Boatwerks is still a solid choice for a good meal and ambiance. I usually prefer to sit in the bar area. It'll be jam-packed in the summer, but don't shy away from a winter visit to take advantage of the more laidback vibes and homey recipes. But yeah--there's a $20 steak dinner going on. Chow down while the deal lasts!

We had to go around the block multiple times before we found a space behind the parking lot behind the restaurant. When we got into the restaurant was packed on a Tuesday night. There was a short waiting list that moved pretty quickly. The main reasons for going there was to try their James Beard award winning Trumpet burger. I also ordered an amber ale that was pretty good. It was good but coming from Chicago there are several burgers that I feel are better. Places like Au Chaval & Little Bad Wolf to name a few. My wife ordered a Mediterranean style pizza. Again coming from Chicago the pizza was very average. How can you compare this to Pequods or Lou Malnati? Hops draws a large crowd and really packs the people in. They have a good lively crowd w/a nice selection of food & beers. It was an enjoyable meal in a very crowd friendly. As someone with celiac disease, eating out can be stressful, but when I informed our server, he immediately reassured me that they take cross-contamination seriously and ensure a safe meal. While they do offer outdoor dining, we opted to sit inside, and the service and food were fantastic from start to finish. To drink, I started with the kiwi pineapple margarita--they offer multiple types of rims, and I went with sugar, which was delicious. The summer sangria also sounded amazing, but I stuck with the margarita since it was guaranteed gluten-free. For food, we shared the ricotta with gluten-free toast, and for my main, I had the Beyond Burger on a gluten-free bun with a side of chips that were confirmed to be safely gluten-free. Finding a place that is this accommodating, knowledgeable, and delicious is rare, and it made our trip so much better!

Cooked well and the vegetables that were steamed on the side were perfectly cooked also. Burgers looked good and everyone ate swiftly so I assume everyone's meals were delicious. Service was friendly and swift (but didn't rush us) and this spot even had clean bathrooms (which is a huge plus for a restaurant). Price is reasonable especially for the portion sizes. So, ignore the location and the look of the outside (they also have speakers playing horse sounds outside...) and head in for a delicious and friendly meal.

The hot honey Brie was so yummy, big Texas toast points were good too. The pretzel sticks with the beer cheese was packed full of flavor, the cheese that is. The meatballs were big, so-so. Not much to them. Goat cheese salad was good, vinaigrette was good. The Dijon cucumber salad with salmon wasn't bad. The house salad was just okay. Quinoa bowl was plentiful, just flat on flavoring for me. Needed something, heat or anything. Got some a ramekin of spicy aioli, but it wasn't spicy at all and didn't do much for the quinoa bowl. The tortellini tomato sauce was really good, super flavorful. Shawarma meat wasn't too bad. The tortellini flour seemed a tad hard and thick.
