I wanted so much to like this place. I ordered heuvos rancheros and the corn tortilla the dish (beans and sauce) was on was stale. Otherwise the rest tasted great. I told the waitress and she saw I picked out the whole thing and no adjustment to the bill. Ordered hash browns and they came after my meal. Do NOT order the coffee cake w any expectations of a flavorful crumble or anything resembling a typical coffee cake. My first time here. The place is a little bit hard to find. Unless you knew it was there you probably wouldn't know it was there. It's tucked inside another place called the Sun and Moon Cafe in Spanish sol y Luna. I ordered the bacon eggs with a side of biscuits and gravy. I wanted the biscuits and gravy side not the extra side. I ended up paying $9 more for it. Not a big deal, but I wanted the one biscuit with gravy on it. The potatoes were okay a little bland. Even though I was informed that this business has been there for 35 years, this was somehow my first time visiting this business. The inside is somewhat small and crowded so we sat and ate out on a patio covered with a large umbrella. Originally, I was a bit afraid the seats would be super hard, but it really wasn't bad at all. My husband had the #4 which consists of 2 pieces of bacon, eggs, and French toast. After much contemplation, I got the #5 bacon, eggs, and a waffle. Our child had a croissant with eggs, cheese, and (she chose) chorizo. He had a coffee which smelled incredible so I got one too. Our kiddo had orange juice. Both myself and my S.O. finished our plates. Little miss brought the rest home. The price of the meals was a major highlight according to my hubs, with he said the drinks were more. I forgot to order my bacon well done so I won't be faulting them at all for that. However, the waffle was SUPER dense. It wasn't quite as light and fluffy as I would have hoped. The servers there are very attentive and accommodating. They made sure our coffee was refilled and that I had half and half and sugar for mine. Food: the food was really good. We really liked their hash brown. Both of us got the 2-egg traditional breakfast platters - one with breakfast sausages, and another one with bacon. Both were delicious. The eggs were perfectly cooked to our specification (over easy). My breakfast sausages were nicely charred on the outside, but still juicy and plump on the inside. The hash brown was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. Each platter also came with toasts, and they provided a plentiful amount of jam/preserves on the table. I really also liked the fact that the eggs and potato were not overly seasoned, which is super great for people with salt sensitivity. Salt and pepper were made available on each table. Price: very reasonable. Each breakfast platter ranged from $10 - $15, as of February 2024. Service: the waitress who manned our table was really friendly, sweet, and nice. And the service was really quick. Ambience: the inside of the restaurant was a bit on the small side, but it was cozy. It was also nice and clean. What happened? This place used to be our go to for a yummy diner style breakfast and it was good and the prices were reasonable. Looks like their prices recently went up quite a bit. Today we paid about $70 for 3 breakfasts and a side of bacon. I asked for my English muffin to be toasted crispy but they arrived not toasted or crunchy just warmed. What used to be Canadian bacon on the eggs Benedict is what seems like 2 slices of deli ham. Breakfast this morning left me feeling like I paid more for way less quality of food. Too bad. Looks like we are on the search for a new go to breakfast place....cant justify that price for what we got. read more

Classic outstanding homestyle diner and cafe with wonderful staff and delicious breakfasts. As noted by others, not a lot of seats inside but dine-in and takeout service are efficient and prices competitive. This is the coziest and homiest little breakfast spot that reminds me of diners we used to go to as a kid. No muss, no fuss, just friendly staff and delicious breakfast food. This little eatery was off the beaten path. We were looking for something close. The food was served quickly and tasted fine. The coffee mugs were filled and the staff was very attentive. However, shortly after eating my meal I found myself suffering from massive stomach cramps which lasted for approximately 6 hours. My meal consisted of sausage, eggs, potatoes (not very brown hash browns) and rye toast. My mom had the spinach, mushroom omelette, potatoes and a side of bacon. Not sure what it was in my meal that didn't agree with my stomach, but my mom enjoyed her meal. Hopefully you have better luck if you eat there. read more

I had spinach and mushroom omelet with hashed brown this morning. Neither was flavored, and I normally prefer bland food - so this was definitely "not seasoned." I thought perhaps the cook was busy and forgot to add seasonings, so I asked a waitress, and she told me we don't season your food - condiments are on the table. I find that unbelievable! What restaurant doesn't season their cooking??? If I want to season my food, why wouldn't I just cook at home? So I gave them the benefit that maybe I misunderstood and reached out to their FB site and got an unbelievably rude response. BTW, I expressed my disappointment in the written response but got no clarification that that person was merely agreeing with me and not telling me to stay away - so I have every reason to believe what was said was what it sounded like - "we don't want your business." Ann's Sunshine Cafe offers a decent local breakfast in the Pleasant Hill area. It is located in the Oak Park Shopping Center right next to Savanh Thai Cuisuine. I had a rare day off during the week and decided that I wanted to go and get breakfast since I don't get to do it too often. On a whim, I decided to try Ann's since I was already in the area. I was able to snag a parking spot right in front of the restaurant. Although the parking lot is a decent size, it can get crowded very quickly during rush hour and especially in the evenings. I walked in and I was greeted immediately by my server. I wouldn't say it was the most friendliest greeting, but it was something. It was around 11:00 am and I was the only person there. I sat at the counter and was given a menu. Ann's serves your typical diner essentials including breakfast items, burgers salads, and sandwiches. After looking over the menu, I decided to order the California Eggs Benedict. I've been on an Eggs Benedict kick lately, and I decided to continue on my quest. The interior was very clean and the inside is small but accommodating. The yellow painted walls and comfy swivel counter chairs just screams the epitome of a neighborhood diner! I absolutely loved getting an up close and personal view of my breakfast being made! The chef really worked his magic and the food smelled delicious. Once my food was ready, my server brought it to my table. The Cali benedict was very good and the egg yolk drizzled down perfectly. The avocado tasted very creamy and luckily nothing overpowered each other flavor wise. The hash browns were okay but could have used a little more seasoning. Overall, it was a pretty good breakfast but nothing exceptional. I'm usually super full after eating Benedicts, but I felt like I could still eat after having breakfast here which is rare. The portion was smaller than what other breakfast spots in the area offer. For a neighborhood diner, Ann's is pretty fair. I'm really not a fan of cash only businesses, so that alone in its' self would deter me from coming here regularly. The service along with the food was just mediocre to me. Would I come back again? Maybe if I was in the area, but I would most likely hit up another breakfast spot that I know would deliver better, first. read more

I forget about this locale for breakfasts - had the most amazing Santa Fe eggs Benedict today. It was made with mild green chiles, sweet onions and avocados top red with an enhanced hollandaise sauce. A lot of regulars, which speaks volumes, gracious staff and lower prices than most.
