Garden Omelette with country potatoes (Dec 2025)
    Alan G.

We've had breakfasts delivered from Katy's Kreek multiple times now, and from my perspective, they consistently deliver high quality food that is well packaged and presented. Most recently, we ordered their garden omelette which was an excellent portion of fluffy eggs and filled with different chopped veggies and topped with sliced avocado. The omelette had the right level of salt and was accompanied by country potatoes that were nicely seasoned and were tender but not overcooked or overcharred. We also got their side fruit bowl which included fresh strawberries and blueberries. The portion size was good, and only thing is that the melon and cantaloupe could have been more ripe. We have previously enjoyed their traditional egg Benedict (which included properly poached eggs and creamy hollandaise), over easy eggs with bacon and sausage, and their French toast--all were excellent. I hope to eat there in the near future but will keep on getting their breakfasts delivered in the meantime!

Loved the down to earth atmosphere at Katy's Kreek! Service was friendly and quick. We got seated right away on a Saturday morning. The food was fresh and filling. It was the perfect breakfast after visiting the state park nearby. There's a parking garage a block away that's free for the first hour if you can't find street parking.

Nutella waffle, nutella crepe, mixed berry pancake, side of country potatoes

I came here for brunch with a group of friends and got seated right away. The service was friendly, and the ambiance was rustic and charming. The food was well presented, and the portions were large. I tried the Nutella waffle with strawberries, banana, and whipped cream. It was yummy, but the waffle didn't taste very fresh to me, and the chocolate tasted more like regular chocolate than Nutella. I also think it could've used a bit more Nutella, especially since it was advertised as a Nutella waffle. That being said, the fruit was fresh and added flavor to the waffle, and the syrup paired well. The waitresses were very nice and accommodating, and they were able to separate all of our dishes into different bills per person, which we appreciated.

My coworker and I split a nice breakfast at Katy's. It was recommended by the staff at the hotel we were staying at. We split the eggs benedict with bacon and an order of strawberry pancakes. They were both great and the orders were huge! Service was great, the food came out very fast. I would go back!

Great service, we were allowed to choose where we wanted to sit. We went around 12:30-1pm it wasn't too busy or noisy! Our waiter Celia was the sweetest, making sure we had everything we needed. We ordered huevos rancheros, classic egg Benedict , both 10/10! Cannot complain about this place!

I went to brunch here w/meat-eating neighbors .. they were all thrilled w/their selections but for me the only vegan choice was a token veggie burger, fries & salad- very sad ! ( & not very good either ! ) Service was fairly quick, it was quite busy & the servers knowledge of vegan options was non- existent & did not feel very accommodating, but this was a meal based on the company, not the food ( for me) It was kind of noisy & crowded & bustling so it seems like a popular place to eat, has a family friendly atmosphere & decor but not my cup of tea !

Came here since someone on the street recommended this place. I ordered a seafood cobb salad and My husband got French toast. We were greeted right away and u can sit wherever you like. The food came out very fast. I was impressed that they used real crab in the salad. They were very attentive with refilling coffee and water. My husband enjoyed his French toast. It seems like more of a traditional breakfast spot but they did have some unique items on their menu like calamari steak and eggs. The best service ever!

Classic egg Benedict with hard-boiled eggs!!!

I'd thought I would try Katy's because of the low rating to see if it deserves it. And Yes it does! My wife's classic egg Benedict was hard-boiled, instead of poached. Obviously, the cook doesn't know how to make an egg Benedict in a brunch/breakfast restaurant !?!? We had to send the egg Benedict back! My O'brien potatoes (veggie omelette) were not "roasted" as advertised but deep fried and burnt! Not coming back.

The food was hot. And I got to get gutsy and try the Asian chicken salad. There is outdoor seating. On the patio. It was warm. And the waitress came and asked what I wanted.

The amenities show vegan options, but I don't see anything on their online menu? Trying to figure out if we can go here next week. Thanks!

Is it open for outdoor dining?

The last time we went it was only open for outdoor seating.

I was wondering if they do bottomless mimosas on Sundays?

    No they do not.

So what better place to dine in to celebrate out 2nd Year Wedding Anniversary at The Hideout Kitchen :) We went for dinner. Our server was KEVIN. Simply...HE IS JUST AWESOME. He knows the menu, he knows the history, and has amazing stories to share with everyone. Great guy. A lot of people there that night seemed to be celebrating something. The noise was a bit loud that I felt I had to almost yell to have a conversation with my husband. But the vibe was great. I enjoyed looking around at the decor. We ordered: - TRUFFLE FRIES for appetizers - I loved everything about it. haha. Tastey! - linguine & clams - I ordered this. It was good. However, I felt it was way oily. And after every bite I took, I had to wipe my mouth. And I accidentally spilled oil on my shirt. - PASTA ALLA CARBONE with steak - My husband enjoyed it and started to get full towards clearing out his bowl haha. - SCALLOPED POTATOES - I ordered a side of this. Definitely was not expecting to look the way it did, but I thought the presentation was beautiful. It was good; however, I was not a fan at how crunchy and hard the top first layer was. In a few areas, it was almost burnt. But I thought it was pretty good without the need for a type of sauce on the side. - For drinks, I had to Summer sangria and my husband had the Rumble in the Jungle. We enjoyed it. Definitely hit the spot. No complaints at all about these drinks. - And Kevin surprised us with a dessert to celebrate : Cranberry Bread Pudding. This was delicious. Very flavorful. I am not really into Cranberry, but this is definitely an exception. Loved the fruits on the side as well. The Hideout Kitchen will always have a place in our hearts. We will definitely come back. We still need to try this place out for Brunch. We need to try their UBE pancakes! hehehe. And thanks Kevin for being amazing that night!

I noticed a couple Filipino-inspired dishes on the brunch menu -- Pulled Pork Silog, & the one we tried, Ube Hotcakes. Fluffy & coated in a deep purple sauce, but they didn't posses the distinct taste of ube. My Breakfast Burrito was very well put together, & so hearty, I could only get through half. Every bite saw a dip into the tasty hot sauce. And like the five-year old that I am, I loved that tater tots were a side option. I wouldn't make the drive from my neck of the woods specifically for the Hideout Kitchen, but should I find myself in Lafayette again, I wouldn't say no to an invite here.

My family and I ended up here randomly today (Saturday) after doing a yelp search for lunch. We arrived and it was BUSYYYY, but the wait time was said to be 11-20 minutes. So we decided to wait. Wait time ended up being OVER 30 minutes, but IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT. We almost decided to just walk right over to Kinders, after waiting 30 minutes. But we thought "wth, we've waited this long, let's just wait a bit longer". Finally after almost 40 minutes, we were seated inside. There is no patio seating here and the venue is really small. I wouldn't recommend for groups over 4-5 at the pleasant hill location unless you call to make a reservation in advanced. Though I'm not sure if they take reservations. Anyway, we ordered the following. Kids pancake and fruit. Kids fried chicken & fries + a side of extra crispy bacon. Both kids meals came with an apple juice. Crab Benedict. Chicken and wafffles. Ube pancakes Hot chocolate Thai Iced Tea & an alcohol beverage. The something sour. Can't remember the name but had grapefruit, soju, tajin rim. Damn never EVERYTHING was delicious!! We loved it alllll. Minus the hot chocolate. My kids did not like it, but it wasn't bad. Just not a favorite. On top of the food being yummy! It's all so decently priced. For everything mentioned above, our bill came out to $150. Which to me, in today's world, for 4 people, all of that?! Is not bad at all. I spend more on a less when grocery shopping for two days worth of groceries. We WILL be visiting again!
