I've been here twice and had a food catered event. All three times the food was delicious! Twice I choose from the seasonal menu, and both times the food was delicious! Catered food was on point and really tasty. The server, Chase, was friendly and had super customer service skills. His recommendation of the trout and grits was amazing! He remembered we were sharing plates, and made sure we could do that comfortably when food was brought out. They had the good bacon. I've been to several of these restaurants over the years. It now seems that the inevitable has happened. They've become over franchised and lost the bubble. The food wasn't good... at all. The biscuits were dry and seemed like frozen. The scrambled eggs tasted like packaged or powdered eggs I was served in the Navy 30 years ago. The gravy was cold and unappealing to say the least... and the grits were too runny. Reminiscent of Waffle House! When this place first quietly opened up around the corner from where we live it was a hidden gem. We could sleep in and walk over around 10:30/11 and walk right in. Now...if you are not there by 9:30 am you will be waiting at LEAST 30 min, after 11 don't even try unless you want to wait up to an hour. With all that said, I still love this place. Their menu has creative and traditional brunch specialties to suit everyone's cravings. They offer some great brunch cocktails too! Some of my favorites are their omelettes, scrambles, benedicts and sandwiches. I recently tried one of their seasonal menu items, the Power Waffle (whole wheat waffles, bananas, pecans, coconut milk-peanut butter drizzle) and it was fantastic! Worst brunch experience I've ever had. Should of known when the front of the place was filthy. Need to hire someone to clean that first. Second, wait was fine, 15 min to get seated. Once seated it took 10 min to be talked to and then another 15 min to get a water. Ordered the spiked coffee and then was told 30 min after getting it that it wasn't spiked, which I thought. But didn't wanna say anything cause I was afraid it would take 30 min again to arrive. Food still wasn't there 45 min into ordering it. Got the crabcake Benedict and some other one. Both mediocre at best. Crab tasted old. For 2 people, 2 hours later and $65 later, I felt as if I got robbed and was still hungry. Walked to hobnob, got an app and it was out in 15 min and got two drinks correctly poured. They have the best bruch ever!!! I am not normally a brunch person however I am glad I had tried it. I love the vibe and atmosphere. There is always a waiting period however it is so worth it. They usually have mini muffins for guest who are waiting on weekends. Shrimp and grits is what I usually order, however everything on the menu is delicious. The flavors from the shrimp down to the grits is so savory. Also, they give you a lot of food. They have a variety of pancakes. It is huge that you can share with others. I love how the servers are friendly and tentative. The only thing is they close at 2PM. This means I can only go on the weekends which is usually busier. Well, pluck-my-feathers, I hit Eureka at Another Broken Egg Cafe! THE MOOD It was as if they were expecting me! I pulled right in to a parking spot directly in front of the door (what are the odds LOL). As I walked in, there was some bustle on the floor; but not to irritation. A hostess promptly led us to a center table; towards the rear of the cafe. There were smiles all around and I felt absolutely charmed by the quaint (though fake) floral centerpiece on each table and the warm, coppery color scheme throughout the room. Just behind me, I noticed a delightful, covered portico and the next time I eat there I will most assuredly ask to be seated outside. I was immediately served coffee in a beautiful, handcrafted mug. The mug matched thick, shiny crockery that would accompany my food service. THE FOOD Since it was our first visit to the cafe, we were treated to fresh, powdered beignets with a superior fashioned orange marmalade for dipping. That marmalade was splendid; with flecks of orange shavings throughout. It looked like edible rutilated quartz! While sad they did not have wet-naps, I was over it pretty quickly when our brunch arrived. We could see from the menu that this place had a Cajun bent and I was excited to "laissez les bon temps rouler", so to speak. While my brunch buddy played it safe with his order of chicken and waffles, I had a modified version of their Veggie Delight Omelette. I asked for egg whites instead of eggs with yolks; and I requested they add crawfish to the mix. This spinach, tomato and mushroom omelette also came with butter encrusted English muffins, a top-sprinkling of garden herbs and a bowl of fresh fruit; including strawberries, blackberries, kiwi and Concord grapes. Salt or pepper to taste is needed on the omelette. Perhaps another reviewer will blather on about it being bland but to true foodies, spicing an egg to individual taste is always preferred. I used the rest of that heavenly, orange marmalade on my English muffins. Waste not, want not, I was taught LOL -- but I digress. That omelette was divine. THE SERVICE We were attended by a wonderful waitperson named, Erica. She made us feel most welcome and even took a moment for light banter. The waitstaff were dressed in relaxed, black attire but their smiles and attitudes were the capstones of their uniforms. This was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had in my life. We were told that our wait would be 15 minutes, and we waited 45 minutes. We were finally seated but no one came to take our order for drinks until 25 minutes after we sat down. It took them 40 more minutes just to bring the drinks out. 30 more minutes go by and we finally get our food. What I ordered was over cooked and I was brought the wrong side. I went here for breakfast on Saturday morning. We were welcomed warmly and seated quickly. Things went down from there. The bowl that my potatoes were served in was badly chipped and yet my potatoes were in it. My eggs were unevenly cooked? How does this happen. I was medium, 1 was runny(which I hate) . The waitress said she would "rectify" the situation and brought me back two runny eggs, I was done and through! Perhaps "rectify" does not mean what I thought it means! Never received service. Treated like aliens as if they should stay away. I've been to this place before and other locations as well. I walked in with my family me, a women and child and was sat down immediately ,which was nice, but to never be served or greeted at all. My family is one of culture I must say so it felt very uncomfortable just sitting there watching servers walk by me. 3 to be exact. Looked at my family and did not even offer waters or a moment. I work very hard for my family to be treated as well as anyone else so it turned me the wrong way when I feel like that is not the case! When we got there ( hubby) we were asked for our phone number so that they may text us when our table is ready. We were told the wait would be 15-20 min. We noticed it was a full house, but nothing overwhelming. We proceeded to sit out side on the patio waiting area in the front. I couldn't sit for very long because I was facing the sun. It was burning the heck out of me. I walked around the parking lot until we were called to be seated. We were seated in 13 min. We had a small table next to the wall. The atmosphere was nice. The environment was loud, but it wasn't annoyingly loud. Customers looked as if they were enjoying the food and their conversations. I could deal with that. I ordered a belgian waffle, with pecans, thinly sliced bananas ( no whip cream) , turkey sausage with orange juice. I'm not really a traditional breakfast food type. On the other hand hubby had the city grits. I encouraged him to try them because of the reviews here on Yelp. He was very pleased with his meal. I enjoyed mine as well. I nearly forgot this : The parking a bit congested, but I truly didn't expect a parking spot in front of the restaurant. We actually parked in the CV'S drug store parking lot. We didn't see any signage about not using the lot. However as we walked up to the building, i noticed more parking in the rear in front of other businesses. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly. I loved the patio dining area. It was draped with curtains and ceiling fans. I really enjoyed my experience here. I recommend this place. Had brunch here last Sunday after a long break. I've never been a fan of having to wait for extended periods of time for a table but we decided on a late brunch so it was less busy. We opted for the patio because it was loud inside the restaurant but that was a mistake. It was hot and the sun kept going in and out. The first thing we asked was for the fans to be turned on but no one knew how. We then asked to have the shade lowered but no one knew how. I wound up turning down the shade myself (correctly) and was yelled at by the staff. We finally got our food and it was just warm, and served with no utensils which took forever to get. This was the WORST experience we have ever had at a brunch restaurant. We will be going to First Watch next time. Even waffle house has better service and warm food. There is absolutely NO REASON our food should be getting cold after waiting 2+ hours for a pick up order. We were missing food, the avocado on our omelettes were black, we asked for no blueberries because of an allergy and they didn't even take them off. If we were waiting for 2+ hours and the food was good, that would be a different story, but it was not. None of the food seemed fresh and it tasted stale and cold. Another Broken Egg Cafe is a new breakfast and brunch restaurant that opened in Vinings in January 2013. It replaced the Vinings Fish Company, which closed last fall. The cafe is located in the Vinings Jubilee shopping center, which is a quaint collection of boutique shops, retailers, and restaurants. Other restaurants at the Vinings Jubilee include La Paz, Cafe at Pharr, Mellow Mushroom, and Noche. The restaurant has several locations in the U.S, mostly in the southeast. There are four locations in Georgia. Including this one, there are cafes in Buckhead, Alpharetta, and Dunwoody. The restaurant is new and looks nice. It totally gives off the "at-home" breakfast feel. The interior is simple and presumably decorated after a country home with contemporary style. The walls are colorfully painted and the attention to detail is noticeable from the ceiling fans to the tables to the tableware. There's a bar near the front, but other than that, this place consists of mostly booth and table seating. The space isn't terribly big, but it's spacious enough. I didn't see any outdoor seating. Operating hours are daily, 7:00am to 2:00pm. Dinner is not served. I stopped by for lunch yesterday (Thursday) around 12:15pm, a peak time. The restaurant was busy, but not packed. Our party of four was seated immediately. The menu has several options with a focus on eggs (any style, though they have a variety of scrambled eggs and eggs Benedict), pancakes, French toast, and an assortment of breakfast meals such as steel-cut oats and shrimp 'n grits. Non-breakfast items include salads, burgers, and sandwiches. Most items are $11.00 or less. I ordered the Classic Biscuit & Gravy ($9.99) as I was immediately drawn to it. I love biscuits and gravy. The entree came with the restaurant's housemade gravy covering an open-faced biscuit with two eggs, two sausage patties, and seasoned country potatoes. It wasn't bad. The biscuits and gravy were good. I really liked the gravy. It has sausage in it and wasn't too rich or thick. The only problem was, there wasn't enough of it. I actually ate some bits of biscuit without any gravy (!). In most cases, the biscuits are drowning in gravy. Not here. The biscuit was super soft. I applied liberal amounts of Another Broken Egg Cafe's hot sauce on my eggs, which I had scrambled. It was OK. Their hot sauce is not very spicy and is a little bit tangy. The sausage patties were small, but dense and delicious. One of my patties was burnt (more than just a little char) on both sides, but at least the inside tasted great. I'm not sure what they put in their sausage patties, but they're quite flavorful and savory. The country potatoes were chopped and tasted ordinary. My tablemates ordered the sweet potato pancakes and an omelette and those dishes looked appetizing. I'd be willing to come back and try other dishes. Portion sizes are filling. Service was good and our orders came out in a reasonable amount of time. Separation of the check was not a problem. If you've never been to Vinings Jubilee, locating the restaurant can be a bit confusing as the shopping center is comprised of many separate buildings and parking areas. Great for Sunday Brunch We were in Marietta for our Grandson's 1st Birthday and Christening last weekend and on Sunday decided to give Another Broken Egg a try. There are two of them in Charlotte and we've talked about driving down into Charlotte from the Lake a couple of times but never got around to it. In this case, we decided to give this one a try and if we liked it, go back and try the two in Charlotte. Walked in the door expecting a very casual and laid back atmosphere. Not the case. This is a high energy place and very easy to get into the swing of things and have a great breakfast. Everyone is moving around in a hghly efficient manner with no wasted motion and delivering total service. True professionals. My wife ordered something called The Floridian which was a Cream Cheese Stuffed Omelet topped with Crab. I had a Belgian Waffle done what they called, Banana's Foster Style. The waffle was a lot thinner that Belgian Waffles I am familiar with and the sauted banana's were done in regular syrup rather the butter like you find with a true Banana's Foster but good anyway. The whipped cream on the side was good but in the heat, the foam was beginning to collaspe. Should chill the dish it was served in a bit more. That said, these were all minor things and we both enjoyed our Brunch. We will be back to this location and will try the two in Charlotte. Our server was outstanding and we never lacked for anything. I've never been to any of the borken egg cafes so here's a review from some fresh blood. Like any plaza, it might be a little hard to find, but it's right by Banana Republic and Francesca's on the second floor. I showed up around 11:30AM and it was crowded, probably since it was basically a national holiday. The restaurant is very homey and has a nice patio area in the side. The wait was going to be about 40 minutes but the bar is first come first serve so my friend and I camped out and managed to snag two seats within 10 minutes. I didn't order any drinks but they did seem very generous with their champagne servings in the mimosas. And the bloody mary looked pretty amazing. I went ahead and ordered their sweet potato pancake, which was pretty tasty. You can make it a combo if you're really feeling hungry. It came with pecans, whipped cream and syrup which had a hint of orange. Now for the negative: Service is sloooooooooooow. I don't know if it was just because I was sitting at the bar, but it felt like most of our time was spent waiting. And note: we were sitting directly in the middle of the bar, right in front of the servers. We had to wait over 5 minutes to even get a menu and some waters. Another 10 minutes to get our orders in. They only gave us one set of silverware and I had to ask for another. It took at least 35-40 minutes for both of our orders to come out, which is a little crazy. So if you are in a rush or if you were hangry, I'd go somewhere else because most likely, you'll be waiting a while.
