I don't know anymore man. I'm just a guy on the road trying to eat, why is it so hard anymore. Post covid ? Lack of people who want to work? Restaurants who forget why the exist or is it me ? I don't think it's me because I'm simple, I'm hungry most of the time and I just want descent service with nice people. This place is a solid fail. It's like pushing a rope... it's hard. It's not easy to eat here , you have to take control of your hunger if you want to survive. Struggle.....and the staff wears it. They're complaining about people in front of you and how hard they have it. For Gods sake people you chose this job just do it with a smile on your face and make money, I want to give it to you. But with this service I can't and it hurts me. The service is horrible the lady checking you is horrible and hates her life. I started hating mine. Rude. So much it's comical and I did laugh and stick around because I had to see how this ends. It ended an hour later with ok food and a terrible experience. Where is the manager? Who is this person and why on earth do you still have a job. Was it you ? The guy with an ear piece? Or was it the lady with the arms crossed standing in the corner over there? I say live it up with this familiar name of a breakfast joint because it won't last, unless people around her put up with this crap. This place came up as a recommended place to try if in the area and we decided to give it a shot. We got the lemon blueberry mimosa, and the strawberry mimosa and they were very large pours and delicious flavors. We also got the crab cake Benedict and the chicken and waffles. The portions were large so we weren't able to finish, but the flavors of the food was amazing. The service was also great, we put our name on the waitlist while driving there and upon arrival we were seated promptly. Definitely recommend if you are in the area. read more

This was my first visit to this particular location and overall it was an ok experience. For starters, I've ordered sausage several times from other locations but this is the first time it has looked like this. The biscuits & gravy dish was also not hot and the eggs didn't arrive how I ordered them. The sausages were cold on the inside and didn't even seem done. We waited approximately 25 minutes to be seated. No surprise, as it was Sunday. The place was packed. There appeared to be two young ladies greeting customers (beautiful hostess with the undercut should try smiling, not shuck n jive, just smile). We came upon this establishment by accident and it seemed like a place we would try out after leaving the tree giveaway downtown We were seating right away and our server came over quickly. Outdoor seating was offered but we decided to eat inside. I decided to order the fried chicken sandwich, came out grilled, went back and came back faster than the original ordering took. My husband got the burger, it was excellent, the home fries were great too!! Back to the chicken sandwich, the entire sandwich was weird. It had a super thin grilled garlic type bread with holes in it but you never would you be able to hold it and eat it like a Popeyes chicken sandwich. Horrible experience from the hostess to the server who was obviously more interested in chatting with his coworkers and hanging out in the back than acknowledging us. We arrived on a Monday and there was still a 45 minute wait to be served despite their being many tables and booths available. To cut a long story short, the food is very bland and tasteless. My daughter and I couldn't WAIT for this location to open as I have a salon studio suite in the plaza and had been watching everything come together. As an Interior Design Student as well, of COURSE, the aesthetics of this place drew my eyes first and it is sooo beautiful and airy. Perfect for the area! Now for the food. Ohhhh the FOOD! I have been to the other two Jacksonville locations and I am familiar with ABE so I have my favorites from the menu but it's still like having them for the first time, EVERY time! We love the Broken Egg franchise but this location needs to still work on their food and service. The coffee was inconsistent. My coffee was good but my husband's cup was weak which is weird. The biscuit beignets were still kind of still uncooked in the middle and drowned in powdered sugar. My crab cake fried green tomatoes were delicious although I had to pull out some questionable spinach leaves in my salad. My husband's Huevos Rancheros were just okay. The food was good, but the service was slow. Our server took a while to get to us, but once she arrived was very pleasant. If it had been packed, we might have been a little more understanding, but we only saw 2 other tables and several people working. One of our sides came out wrong, but they made up for it, letting us keep the mistake and brought out the right one very quickly. The blt&a was AMAZING. One of the best I've had! Doesn't skimp with thick cuts of bacon, garlic aioli that is on point, and they let me get a brioche bun instead of the 9 grain bread. We dined at 1. We were seated outside...it was a beautiful day. After being told our server will be right with us, we waited for a good 5-10 minutes, the. we had to talk to two people to ask for a server. Finally got our server..we ordered specialty coffee drinks and our breakfast. After 10 minutes, had to ask another server to check out coffee drinks. The meals arrive..shrimp benny, biscuits and gravy, and shrimp and grits. The "gulf shrimp" promised on the menu were SMALL FROZEN SHRIMP. The mushrooms in my benny were not fresh. Biscuits and gravy came with hardly any gravy. Lastly, the potatoes were dry. At the end, we had to search for the server to get our check. Nothing at this restaurant was impressive. After a pretty bad experience of sitting there for 15 minutes while everyone around me was waited on, and then leaving a couple months ago, I gave this restaurant another try yesterday. I used to frequent it, and likely will again, get there early, and ask for a very specific server (ari). She was exceptional, pleasant, quick, gave really solid recommendations, and anticipated every need I had. I waited tables prior to becoming physically disabled and she is most definitely an asset to that business. My meal was really good with the exception of the scrambled eggs. The chicken sausage, pumpkin waffle, and coffee ari recommended were very tasty though. I look forward to breakfasting there again soon. read more

Asked for recommendations, she chose several, and we got two of her suggestions. The 3 large Blueberry, lemon infused pancakes with fresh blueberries and goat cheese, accompanied by two over easy eggs and 2 slices of crispy bacon were outstanding! My sister had the Mardi Gras omelet, topped with tasty shrimp and small potato bites as well as an English muffin..Service was quick, presentation was lovely and Damon(spell?) was adorable as well as some of the best service in years. Servers was an absolute angel, but the cooks weren't doing their jobs properly, presentation was poor and overall taste was lack luster. Beignets were cracked, dry, and came out 20 minutes after we asked for them. My Belgian waffle was brought out plain with absolutely nothing on it, no powdered sugar or whipped cream, just a plain waffle. Poached eggs were almost bursting upon arrival. Other order of poached eggs tasted sour, and got to the table by the time I finished the rest of my food. Diced potatoes were dry and lukewarm.
