Was visiting Sarasota with my 18yr old son looking at colleges. Our hotel breakfast wasn't up to par so we headed out for ANOTHER BROKEN EGG CAFE. What an amazing breakfast. Dan was our waiter and was friendly, fast, energetic, and engaged with my son about his Breaking Bad shirt, both are huge fans of the show. We had the French Toast with the combo of scrambled eggs and bacon with coffee. YUMMY YUMMY DELICIOUS !!! Great breakfast from start to finish. We went back again. Food was great again, waitress not so much. My husband came to town to join us and we took him there. Specifically asked to sit in Dan's area and had great service and food for our third time and my husband's first. He agreed with our love of the food and service by Dan. My son introduced himself to the manager, Susan Halsey. Wonderful lady. My son had thanked her for having such a great place for breakfast and if he were to need an environment like her business could he film there. She was so kind to him. I can't say enough about this place and the food. They are supposed to open one in the DC area and I can't wait. My son decided on a college in CA and there is one near his college. Absolutely worst service. I go off the reviews when I want to try something new and I thought I was going to have a great experience. We were seated right away. The hostess was wonderful. Sat there for 20 minutes while 3 other families came in and got served right away. Trying to get their attention was the worse. I understand that establishment gets "busy", but to use it as an excuse to give bad customer service is beyond me. I was checked in on once. I had to ask for coffee refills because the waitress never came back. I was excited about the complimentary beignets that NEVER came. Our order was taken by the HOSTESS! he was the attentive one making sure we got service. I walked to the front to pay because she never came back to take our MONEY! the hostess running all over looking for her so she could take our money. I TIPPED the hostess. Worst place we've ever been, waited to be seated for 15 minutes and waited another 20 minutes for the waiter to take our order after seating for 1 hour still no food and when we asked for our food, the waiter did not even put our order and claimed it's not in the kitchen, 1 and a half hour of waiting is over the top. read more

I went to the "NEW" Another Broken Egg in Lakewood Ranch, FL. It was a group meeting of 10 people. We ordered and everyone had a beverage of their choice. The breakfasts took an amazingly long time to prepare - 20+ minutes. One member of our party was getting ill from not eating. In the ensuing time, the waitress never came to the table to refill coffee or hot water for tea. I finally went up to the counter to get more hot water. When the breakfasts arrived, imagine my surprise when all received their ordered items except me. The waitress said, "Yours will be right out." Another 20 minutes later, I was still waiting. I finally went up to the counter - again - to ask about my breakfast and was told it would be right out. Another 10 minutes went by and finally, my breakfast arrived. It was NOT what I ordered and it was haphazardly put together and my "salad" had obviously been put under some kind of heat lamp as all the lettuce was "cooked." I ate some of it but it was almost inedible. Others said their entrees were good. The bill for hot tea and a lousy entree was $13.00. I did NOT leave a tip. Nor will I be returning anytime soon. Hands down my favorite breakfast place in Lakewood Ranch. Cozy atmosphere, bright and fun, the best bacon in town. Their drink selection is amazing, try the tropical white sangria, delicious! The only reason I can't give them five stars is because the loss of their incredible hash brown casserole is catastrophic, the boring flavorless potatoes they replaced them with are a dealbreaker. Before, this restaurant was somewhere we went regularly, now we just go occasionally when I don't feel like cooking. Bring back the hash brown casserole please! read more

Had a delicious breakfast this morning here! My sister and I split the classic Eggs Benedict with a side of cheesy grits. It was a bit pricey at $12 but the portions were generous and it was very yummy! The grits were very good, especially when I added Cholula hot sauce! They have a full bar which is nice and we saw some stacked bloody Mary's heading out to other tables with bacon and ochra! Eggcellent meal! I ordered the Beignets and the Grits topped with Bacon. Both were prepared well and served hot. Beware - the Beignets are made from biscuit dough, so are heavier than most. Located next to a Marriott tucked behind a mall, it's easy to miss. We came for lunch/brunch and the outdoor seating was packed and indoors was busy but seating was available. Perfect for families, large groups or couples. It's a bit noisy, but fun and casual ambience. Perky servers who refresh drinks and the food is delivered pretty quickly. Now to the food--my husband had breakfast ordering a veggie omelet which comes with a side of country potatoes. He also ordered a side of a single pancake. Unfortunately they don't offer combination plates but it was all good. I ordered the club sandwich on whole grain bread. It was the best I've ever had! It had fresh avocado l/t, warm ham, turkey and bacon. It wasn't dry and the fact the meats were warm added tremendously. My only tiny negative is they don't have Russian dressing which I normally have instead of mayo, but it wasn't really needed as the sandwich was so moist. Took home half of a generous portion. Will definitely try again since they had a lot of interesting things on the menu. A little pricey--$35+, but good quality food and good service. read more

What a lovely, warm and special place! I had the Smoked Salmon Benny and loved it. My husband had a veggie Omelet and he was delighted. For dessert we tried the Cinnamon Roll French Toasts and we were glad we did. We found that all the plates they served us had a little something special. I highly recommend this place. Usually this breakfast joint is busy and for a good reason. Good food, great service and quick on and out. Today it seemed busier than normal On a day in late October you could tell things were off. Anyways we were seated after about 25 minutes and we all ordered. I like my eggs NOT well done and ordered them that way. When they came they were like rubber. Visited here this morning for the first time; awesome brunch! I'm not a grits lover, but like to try them when visiting the south. These are the best I've ever had: creamy, not lumpy, and the perfect temperature! I had the crab cakes hollandaise and they were wonderful! Eggs were cooked perfectly. Spurred by an email promising me a free platter of pancakes for my birthday, I decided to celebrate the occasion at this location of Another Broken Egg, which is one of my favorite Bradenton stops during our winters on Anna Maria Island. Making my way there on my special day, meant traveling from our winter residence, across Bradenton and through the current massive construction at the Lakewood Ranch exit for the restaurant, but the effort was well worth it. First of all, our server Heather was superb and made my special day even moreso. Another Broken Egg was very generous with their offer for the occasion. While I was expecting a platter of regular pancakes, Heather informed us that we could order any pancake on the menu. Chosing the superb blueberry with goat cheese pancakes, we combined them with Huevos Rancheros and grits. As usual, the grits were superb and Huevos Rancheros very fine as well. Normally, I order their quinoa combination, which is an especially fine breakfast item which also features coconut milk and granola. So, thanks to Another Broken Egg, it was a great birthday. My husband and I have enjoyed breakfast here on more than one occasion but have noticed that the last few times we've gone there something been amiss. Once they forgot my small orange juice completely. Breakfast came and went and I was at the end of my breakfast when I realized I never received it. Another time, my husband ordered a side of country gravy, instead of the aioli that came with the meal, and they still brought him the aioli and had no record of him ordering the gravy. The time before last, we were seated in the very first booth on the left (the one you see as you walk in) and the manger hovered over the booth the whole time we were there. He was standing up against the booth barking orders and talking loudly, to a fellow coworker, about a customer they seemed to know. The manager was making rude innuendos about the woman being a divorcée with two kids and something to the effect of, "just the way I like them". Gross!!! Okay, now this last time, I ordered the corn beef hash with Brussels sprouts, potatoes and eggs, and it was served to me without corn beef. The waiter quickly took care of it but I seriously think that Its time to find a new breakfast place! read more

This place was much better before they closed down, remodeled and then reopened. They are part of a franchise now (not sure if they were before). The quality of the food went down. My family had eggs that were not done to order and overcooked sausage. The prices seem a bit pricey for what you get as well. I would recommend going someplace else. read more
