(I wanna give this 3.5 stars, but 4 is more accurate than 3 #roundup) Newest location in HSV and its really nice inside. They serve alcohol so there's a bar area, which I've not seen at any other ABEC location. The menu has some interesting seasonal options like a pumpkin spice waffle and an apple pie mimosa. I didn't have either of those things but next time! I did get biscuit beignets, though....warm, soft balls of fried dough doused in powdered sugar with a honey orange marmalade. Yes and yes. I don't typically like marmalade but this one? I cut my warm beignet(s) in half and drizzled some gooey marm on top, watched it drizzle down the sides for a moment, it's sticky tentacles reaching, reaching, and eventually resting on the plate. Some of it pooled under the beignet. My breath caught in my throat... I carefully took my fork and pierced the dough, lifted it to my open mouth, making sure to avoid getting sugar all over my chin. I failed (how do ppl eat these without the white dust getting all over the place?), but the vittle made it to my tongue and *poof*. Next thing I knew, they were gone. Needless to say, they were orgasmic. But anyway.... I ordered my obligatory coffee (coulda been a little hotter, but it was good), the tzatziki tots and some grits with cheese, tomato and green onions. The tots were good but fried slightly too hard for me. They come with goat cheese and other toppings, but I think they'd be better with feta cheese. Other than that, pretty good. Good portions of chicken and tzatziki sauce, a little pickled onion on top. The grits were good as well, but I had to add salt and pepper; I don't think they season their grits. A little disappointing, but I make excellent grits that ABEC can't compete with and I've had the smoked Gouda grits at Busboys & Poets in D.C. so....not entirely their fault. This is a nice place to go for breakfast. Like many other restaurants their prices are absurd but if think we've gotten use to it, so the exception has become the norm. Servers were attentive at first but once we had our meals they were hands off and it took an act of Congress to get another refill on the coffee. The restaurant was clean and the layout was also set up nice. You didn't have to look at your ne high or unless you wanted to. This is a good place for brunch. I called ahead to put my group on the list. Once I arrived, I checked in. I appreciated the yelp app that allowed me to see what place we were in line. The wait was longer than quoted. We were taken to our table after an hour wait. The hostess took us to a booth which was not big enough because we had a baby in our group that was in a carseat. She seemed agitated that we requested another table. I told her I saw a table of 6 but she stated it was for a party of 8. Another hostess overheard and stated that it wasn't for the other party and we were seated. Our waitress Megan was awesome!! She was very attentive. The kitchen messed up my shrimp and grits by adding sausage even though she notated that it was to be taken off. Also, my friends potatoes were ordered with cheese and scallions but they also forgot that. Megan made sure we got our correct orders as soon as possible. We ordered the fried green tomatoes and beignets for an appetizer. They were delicious. My shrimp and grits were also good. Another Broken Egg is a good brunch spot. I have been here and one of the other locations multiple times when I come home. I would definitely recommend to get there early, because if not there will be a wait. The staff is always nice and the food is always yummy! I ordered Shrimp & Grits. This dish was very tasty. The grits were the consistency I like and the roux/sauce was seasoned well and had a lot of flavor. I liked how they used small shrimp so you didn't have to cut anything or take the tails off. My only complaint was they put a tad to much cheese on it. I could have done without some of the cheese. I have also tried the Eggs Blackstone Benedict. It consisted of Grilled red tomato slices on an English muffin, topped with poached eggs, hollandaise, chopped bacon and green onions. Served with grits or fresh country potatoes. Substitute fresh fruit or City Grits™ for additional charge. I got mine without the tomato. I also picked the city grits. This dish was very good and I liked the addition of the bacon. The only thing is they put a lot of bacon. I pushed a lot of it to the side. City grits are grits with cheese, bacon, green onions and tomatoes. They were very good. I enjoyed this dish! We visited the Another Broken Egg Cafe in May 2019 based on the yelp review. We went on a Saturday morning and got there just in time because there were a rush of people after we got there. There was so much to choose from! My husband had the shrimp and grits (different than the standard shrimp and grit we're used to) and I had that sunrise spinach sampler (which was amazing) but we also wanted to try some of the pancakes and the Pancake Trio Flight was the perfect solution because you get to pick 3 different types of pancakes so we went the buttermilk, peach and bananas foster. Me and my family decided to dine here for brunch on the 4th of July. We really enjoyed the food and our server was very hospitable and pleasant. The atmosphere was family oriented and sort of upbeat. The only gripe I have it that we waited much longer than the 15 minute wait that we were told. Fortunately a few rounds of outdoor corn hole and a visit to the Piper Leaf store allowed time to pass sort of quickly. Actually there's another gripe.. The tables are fairly small and doesn't leave much arm space or additional space for the large plates that they serve. We sat at a 4 top and I recall consolidating and trying to eliminate as many dishes as I could so that we'd have enough room on the table to enjoy our meals comfortably several times. I understand waiting for a table, due to the number of customers, but the service is also just really slow here at the Madison location. I really wouldn't say that the food is worth this long of a wait. Food: I got the Monterey omelette, which is pretty good. They don't go too heavy in the cheese, which I appreciate, and put the sour cream on the side. I substituted a biscuit for the English muffin and enjoyed the biscuit.
