Only been my second time to the Madison location and it did not disappoint. Came here on a Saturday morning and the wait was about 15-20 minutes wait which I was okay with it. Got down and sat and we were greeted by our server and got our drinks. Since I've been here before I had an idea on what I wanted. So after about 5 or so minutes we placed our order and the wait for the food was not too bad but I was not timing it like I normally do since I was with my brother who was visiting from out of state. I ordered the Cinnamon French Toast which comes with syrup and whipped cream followed by some awesome fruit with it. It also comes with 2 sides which I got the sausage and scrambled egg. The food was awesome and sweet which is perfect for 10 am hehe. My favorite part of the meal is the sausage. You can tell the sausage is hand made as the shape is not perfect and I don't know what is in it but it always good. I can eat it by myself if I wanted. read more

Service subpar for takeout. No signs for pickup and not clear where to go. The host said wait at the end of the bar for takeout orders. The bartender said 'be right with you' after which I waited 10min. Finally saw the guy in front of me get his 2 orange juices(!). I asked the person who gave him the juice about my order - went and returned it within a minute. Order was messed up too. What we had was good but not what was ordered which is a bit of a problem for kids with allergies. Does anyone provide good takeout service anymore? read more

The beignets were burnt, the biscuit and gravy was bland and cold, and the grits were hard. To make cheese grits they just tossed some shredded cheese on top. The Monterey omelet was also very watery and no flavor. It took a long time to get served. Also, the table and booth was dirty. read more

The omelette was OK nothing special,the country potatoes were kind of like frozen potatoes that were browned nothing special here I would have expected they would use whole red potatoes And diced bell peppers and onions or something special but it was not. This was my first time eating here, we were greeted the moment we walked in (by at least 3 different employees). Our waitress Alexis, was superb, informative, friendly and went above and beyond expectations. The menu is a ton of fun, with lots of creative items. I had a bite of the cinnamon French toast, sweet but delicious! I ordered the mixed berries pancakes with sausage and scrambled eggs (shelled - had to request). I also had some of the potatoes from someone else's plate and those were so delicious- crisp all the way through (worth a side order if not included with your meal) The meal was HUGE, plenty to share or take home. Again the hostess team (4) were standing around. Normally we have good food and service here. Today we were seated and it took a few minutes for a server to greet us. He was friendly, took our order and dropped by to say our food was almost ready. After several minutes he came back by to apologize that another server had taken one of our plates so another was being prepared to replace it. This place is great, we always have delicious food and great service and we visited 4 times in a 4 day trip to Huntsville. One recommendation for management: Those of us coming from the West coast love to see a giant salad on the menu, we don't mind paying for it, and we like the entire salad to be cold and crunchy. (all the salads I had were very fine shredded lettuce and warm meat which made them wilty and unappealing). I realize salad isn't popular there so here's to hoping maybe that will change one day. We visited the Another Broken Egg Cafe in May 2019 based on the yelp review. We went on a Saturday morning and got there just in time because there were a rush of people after we got there. There was so much to choose from! My husband had the shrimp and grits (different than the standard shrimp and grit we're used to) and I had that sunrise spinach sampler (which was amazing) but we also wanted to try some of the pancakes and the Pancake Trio Flight was the perfect solution because you get to pick 3 different types of pancakes so we went the buttermilk, peach and bananas foster. I was passing through just for a few hours to meet a friend and we chose this spot and in which she told me it has been only open for a few months so I was like ok lets go ....since they haven't been there long than the food should be amazing...... WRONG !!!! My friend was complaining about the prices she said it was $3.99 for 2 sausages and I dont eat meat so I was complaining about the taste of the steel oats. The food was not my cup of tea and my friend said the grits were to mushy almost like they been over cooked. It was just horrible and our waiter was everywhere that she forgot about us a few times. My mother and I decided to dine here for brunch. I do know this place gets pretty busy but the wait was minimal. I decided to order a bellini and the southern crabstack. The menu describes the southern crabstack as "Seasoned grit cake & jumbo lump crab cake topped with a shrimp & Andouille saute, garnished with red peppers & green onions, served with garlic French bread and seasoned country potatoes." it is located underneath the "specialty brunches" portion of the menu. I will say this particular meal was phenomenal and I can see why it is very popular. The potatoes that accompany the meal are well seasoned and I actually ate all of the potatoes first which I highly recommend because they tend to get cold fast. I struggled back and forth on what to give this review. I have reviewed and been to the ABEC in Birmingham numerous times. Always have a long wait, but always get great food and service. The wait is expected, but is always worth it. This experience, while similar, left me with a bad image of this location. In this case, we came into town for a party that my wife was helping coordinate with some other friends that we wanted to meet for brunch. We decided on Another Broken Egg because we knew what we were getting. As I already mentioned, we knew there would be a wait so we prepared for that. We arrived a little before 10:15 and put our name in. We were told it would be a 30-45 minute wait. Which was no problem. They even sent a text asking to download an app to see where you are in line. Which, as my wife said, can be kind of terrible because you are constantly checking! Fast forward 45 minutes later, the app said that we were next in line. Once again, no problem. We will be a little bit later than predicted, but still in good shape for our time. 15 minutes after that we still didn't have a table. So we go in and ask what's up. They promised they were working on it and would have us seated very soon. Fast forward another 20 minutes (note we periodically checked and were told the same thing), they finally start working on a table outside. By this time, a group that arrived after us were already seated, eaten, paid, and walking out the door. The staff that was outside "trying" to get our table together, cleared the table and then were standing there with blank, confused expressions. Turns out, one of the tables they were trying to get was broken. Wait, wait, wait... Now we are getting into a time crunch. They finally pull something together and we are seated after a little over an hour and half wait. Had we been told that from the beginning, we would have gone somewhere else. Had we not been told that it would be "very soon" at the hour mark, we would have gone somewhere else. Now a fun, relaxing brunch with friends we haven't seen in a while has turned into a race to get orders in and eat in a hurry. No real apology except a casual "sorry for the wait" from the hostess. No apology from the manager. Up to now, a firm one-star experience. Fortunately for the restaurant, our server was fantastic. We told him we were in a hurry and he made it happen. Although the lack of competency from the set up crew haunted us again when we all had food and no silverware left us sitting there unable to eat for another 3-5 minutes (seemed a whole lot longer since we were starving!!). Also fortunately for them, our food is what we have come to expect from Another Broken Egg. Which the quality of food is such a big part of my reviews, it really saved them from a 1-star notch. The southern crab stack was on point. As I said from the beginning, we expected a wait. We weren't even overly upset when it went over our high end prediction of 45 minutes. But when that OVER DOUBLES that time and told they are "working on it", that is a big problem they need to get sorted out. 5-star food and waiter, 1-star customer service, 3-star experience. read more

I will start by saying that this place is very cute and clean. The staff was extremely friendly and nice. The food was also delicious. My friend ordered pancakes and eggs while I had different sides ordered due to their lack of vegan main dishes. I didn't expect it to be so difficult to find vegan dishes but many of them contained eggs or some sort of milk. If you are not vegan then you will definitely be able to eat something here as a vegetarian or someone with no food restrictions. The food was fresh and delicious for sure.
